Shota and Present Mic Age 25

Arisa Age 21

Detective Tsukauchi Age 31

~Shota's POV~

Hizashi elbowed me in the gut to get my attention. We were helping the police force with a hostage situation and were currently waiting for orders from the chief of police upon his arrival. I looked in the direction Hizashi was not so subtly trying to get me to focus on. A girl who appeared to be a few years our junior with dark as night hair that fell just past her shoulders and eyes like onyx ducked through the crowd of policemen. She wasn't wearing the standard police uniform like the majority of the others and looked like she was fresh out of the academy. Instead of the traditional police uniform she had on a pair of dark pants and a v neck t-shirt that said 'police' across the front with her last name and badge number on the back. There was a gun and a badge at her hip.

"She's pretty cute." Hizashi noted with a smile.

"We're here to help people, not try and pick up chicks." I reminded him sternly. Hizashi Yamada or more commonly known by his hero name, Present Mic, was my oldest friend though I often referred to him as my oldest nuisance. He was a loud rambunctious guy that was constantly full of energy and tended to act and speak without thinking which got him into trouble on occasion. I'd been bailing him out of tough situations since we were kids.

The girl came to a stop not too far away from us and politely bowed to the detective in charge. "Detective Tsukauchi, my name is Arisa Nakamura I was told to report to you."

The detective, a man in his early thirties with dark hair and dark eyes looked momentarily taken aback by her formal attitude, "Ah, thanks Nakamura, we're just waiting for the chief's order at the moment." He smiled as she rose from her bow.

"Yes sir."

He chuckled, "Military?"

"Am I that obvious?" The girl groaned.

"Maybe tone down the 'sirs', cut back on the formality and don't salute anyone." He offered her a warm smile, "Welcome."

She relaxed a little and smiled, "Thank you s-...Detective Tsukauchi."

"Where did you serve?" He asked her curiously.

"Special Ops, Classified." She said seriously.

Before he could question her further a fat lard of a man with a rosy face stepped out of the back of a police SUV, the chief of police. He sloshed across the mud-covered ground, "Report!" After he was briefed on the situation he looked around at his men and paused as his gaze fell on the young girl, "Who the hell are you?"

"Officer Arisa Nakamura, reporting for duty." The girl bowed.

"Nakamura?" He mulled over her name for a minute.

"The Quirkless Wonder?" Someone chuckled from within the crowd causing a few others to snicker.

The Chief of Police guffawed at this, "That true?"

"I don't have a quirk, sir." She replied crisply.

"Oh good, I was hoping I'd get another coffee girl." He chuckled.

Detective Tsukauchi frowned at his colleagues' behavior. "Sir, she was the top of her class at the academy and she served in Special Ops."

"And now she can get me coffee."

The girl didn't seem affected by any of their rudeness and continued standing attentively waiting for orders.

"They're not even talking to me and I want to punch them all." Hizashi muttered under his breath.

"Yeah, why don't you give that a try and see how it goes." I grumbled back sarcastically.

"I guess that would probably tank my career, huh?"

"Yep." I replied curtly.

"Damn. Well I hope she punches him."

"So, she can tank her career?" I mused.

"I just think it would be hilarious to watch her deck him."

In the next moment I felt a blinding skull splitting pain in my head and dropped to my knees. From the sounds of the screams of pain from around me, it seemed like everyone else had as well. What the hell was going on? Was this one of the villains' quirks? I strained to keep my eyes open and was surprised to see the girl with the dark hair and onyx eyes completely unphased by whatever was happening to everyone else. She called something in to the radio that had been clipped on her belt before scanning the field.

A man sprung from the ground and lunged for the Chief of Police with two machetes at the ready. I watched in awe as the girl darted forward. She moved fluidly putting herself in danger as if it were like second nature to her. The man seemed momentarily taken aback to find someone resisting. Did that mean they had a way to target only those with quirks?

She reached for her belt and rather than retrieve the firearm at her hip, withdrew a pair of handcuffs. Expertly, she avoided the man's furious strikes not once losing her cool collected demeanor. With unrivaled poise and grace, she managed to latch one of the cuffs to her assailant's wrist before managing to catch him in a complex grapple, bringing him down in a matter of seconds. Without breaking stride, she slapped the other cuff on his opposite wrist and left him unconscious in the mud before swiveling around as two more men appeared behind her.

The first lunged at her but was stopped with a single quick perfectly aimed strike to the throat that knocked him out. She flipped forward and kicked the third man. The moment her foot made contact, whatever had caused the pain in my skull, stopped. In a matter of seconds, she had him unconscious and handcuffed before handcuffing the man she'd knocked unconscious with a single strike.

Hizashi staggered to his feet at my side and looked around, it seemed like a few of the police officers had fallen unconscious after the attack. He righted his orange framed triangular shaped glasses before looking to the quirkless girl as she dragged the men she'd handcuffed to an armored vehicle and shoved them into the back of it before securing it shut.

The chief of police looked to the girl warily as her onyx eyes swept over the rest of the police force that had moments before tormented her. She noted those who still looked to be in rough shape and the few that had fallen unconscious and reached for the radio at her hip. Her demeanor remained calm cool and focused as she called in the number of officers that were unconscious and requested a medic before approaching the somewhat shell-shocked chief of police.

"They're getting antsy, that's why they sent a frontal assault. We need to act as quickly as possible to get those hostages out, sir. Forgive me for speaking out of turn but I think it would be best to go in stealthily and retrieve the hostages."

The chief of police stared at her in awe. "Y-yes, that sounds good N-Nakamura." He cleared his throat and looked at the surrounding officers. His lips pulled into a frown as he realized the majority of his officers were still too stunned from whatever attack the criminals had used that affected all the quirk users. He looked in our direction, "Eraser Head, Present Mic, can we rely on you to assist Officer Nakamura with this assignment?"

Her onyx gaze flicked in our direction, the corners of her lips tugged slightly downward looking ready to press into a frown. She recovered instantly, her face an emotionless mask once more. Did she have something against heroes?

"You can count on us." Hizashi smiled completely unaware of the subtle shift in the girl's attitude.

The chief of police nodded and turned to the girl. "Be on your guard. Bring everyone back safe."

"Yes sir." She bowed before turning to Hizashi and I. Another polite bow, "Arisa Nakamura. It's nice to meet you."

Hizashi elbowed me in the side lacking subtlety and tact. I ignored him and offered her a polite bow of my head, "Shota Aizawa." I gave her my name without thinking, "Ah...Eraser Head."

A small ghost of smile cracked through her stony mask of seriousness. "I'll be in your care."

Hizashi stared at her in a daze mesmerized by the small trace of a smile, her features completely changed even with a hint of a smile. They turned softer and more delicate. He fumbled over himself, "AhI'mPresentMic." He said in a rush flowing all of his words together in a jumble. Her smile faded.

Arisa insisted on taking the lead. Reluctantly Hizashi and I conceded, she was the law and as heroes we were only to assist them and held no legal sway. She suddenly tensed as we made our way down the slippery hillslope in the darkness toward the abandoned hospital where the criminals were keeping the hostages. Hizashi walked around her to see if she was alright and her hand lashed out lightning quick.

"Watch out." She shoved him out of the way and I watched in awe as a bullet grazed her arm. Not even a flinch of pain. Her body moved quickly, ignoring her injury and she retrieved the gun at her hip, unholstered it, kicked off the safety and aimed at the top of the building firing off a single shot; all in under a second.

"What are you firing at?" Hizashi asked her warily and looked to where she had aimed her gun. There was a man slumped on the roof clutching at his hand. She'd shot the gun from his hand from this distance. "Holy hell. That was amazing." The nuisance gaped at her as he realized she'd hit her mark.

I looked to the thin rivulet of blood trickling down her arm as she holstered her gun and motioned for us to keep following her. She had nerves of steel, someone who'd faced a lifetime of hardship and loss. Just from the calm cool collected nature and her ability to shrug off her pain like it was nothing, I knew she'd seen true combat, fighting for your life combat. Her onyx eyes held the expression of someone who'd been in many kill or be killed scenarios, and she was still standing.

Hizashi was starting to pick up on it as well and leaned over to me, "I think this chick is too metal for me..."

I rolled my eyes at his unnecessary and inappropriate commentary. The first floor was clear. Hizashi made a move toward the stairwell but Arisa grabbed him by the shoulder and halted him. She pressed her ear to the door of the stairwell and frowned not liking what she heard before moving away motioning for us to follow her quietly.

She stopped at an old elevator shaft with the door's half shoved open and tagged in graffiti. Reaching into her pocket she retrieved a small stick with a mirror on the end and stuck it inside the shaft to get a good look upward. The shaft was clear and the elevator was at the bottom. Her gaze flicked to us. "Anyone up for a climb?"

"We won't be able to get the hostages down this way." Hizashi pointed.

"You're right, we'll have to take the stairs, but if we went in the stairwell now and caused a ruckus whose to say they wouldn't start killing hostages. It's best to find the hostages secure them and then clear our exit." Her onyx eyes were cold once more, "If you're incapable you can wait by the stairwell for my signal."

"What's the signal?" Hizashi asked with a frown.

"Gunfire." She shrugged.

"We'll come with you." I replied before Hizashi could put in his two cents.

She nodded before jumping off the ledge into the elevator shaft. Hizashi's jaw dropped as she caught the iron cable in the center of the shaft and began climbing up not seeming the least bit hindered by her arm.

"Special Ops, that's like classified ninja shit, right?" Hizashi asked me quietly.

I shrugged, "Who knows."

"She's cute but she's a little scary, even without a quirk." Hizashi watched her climb the cable in awe.

I rolled my eyes and followed after her, not nearly as graceful but managing to keep quiet. Hizashi missed the cable completely and I had to send my scarf after him with a sigh. Arisa threw a sharp look down at us before resuming her climb. She deftly managed to leap from the cable to the second landing catching herself in a crouch. Once again, she pressed her ear to the door to listen. Satisfied by what she heard she carefully tried to pry the doors open. The doors refused to budge. Arisa reached down to her boot and retrieved a wicked looking hunting blade from tucked within her combat boot. She wedged the blade through the door trying to give herself some more wiggle room. I landed on the ledge next to her with Hizashi. Trying to be useful, Hizashi attempted to help her with the door. She opened her mouth to stop him but winced as he tugged on the doors.

The shriek of metal scraping echoed through the elevator shaft causing all three of us to wince, there was no way our enemies hadn't heard that. "Shit." Arisa swore softly. She hurriedly stepped in our direction pressing us tightly against the small stone alcove next to the doors as the hallway outside echoed with gunfire. "If you're just going to get in my way, then stay here and try not to die!"

Bullets ricocheted off the elevator doors, a few managed to break through and ricochet off the stone walls in the elevator shaft. An intensity took over her onyx eyes as a deadly calm washed over her. With her hunting knife poised at the ready in her off hand and her gun in her dominant hand she turned with a powerful roundhouse kick sending the weakened elevator doors flying into the hall before rolling forward.

She moved with a lethal grace, her onyx eyes quickly ascertaining where each of her opponents were before firing off expertly aimed rounds felling them all in an instant. Rolling to her feet she hurriedly collected the firearms from the downed thugs and continued on her way. Hizashi gaped. I stepped out of the elevator and followed along behind the girl quietly. She was intense. My gaze was drawn to the floor, it looked like something was swimming within it.

I tossed one of the ends of my scarf in her direction. A soft gasp escaped her as it wrapped around her lithe athletic body before wrenching her backward just as a man popped out of the floor to attack her. I activated my quirk as I spotted him causing him to get stuck with only half of his body sticking out of the floor. Reaching out to steady Arisa as she landed next to me still wrapped in my scarf, I kept my gaze focused on the man stuck in the floor keeping him from activating his quirk and getting away or trying to sneak attack us again.

Her onyx gaze flickered in my direction, "...Thanks..." She mumbled softly. "You can release me now."

The bindings around her slackened and she stepped away from me quickly before stepping toward the villain that had tried to sneak attack her. She wrestled the knife out of his grip before slapping a pair of handcuffs on him. Her gaze flicked to me.

I released my hold on him and watched as he attempted to drop through the floor but the cuffs around his wrists wouldn't go through with him and he couldn't seem to faze through them. He let out a cry beneath the floor as he dangled by his wrists. Arisa looked momentarily surprised that her plan had worked before turning to continue on her way.

Using the mirror device in her pocket she looked around the corners. Pride somewhat wounded, Hizashi joined us quietly. Arisa turned and the corners of her lips tugged downward for a brief moment before returning to a thin straight line of indifference. "There's a few heavily armed thugs guarding a door, I think that's where the hostages are. I'll dash ahead clear the door and you two secure the hostages."

"How many are at the door?" I asked her with a frown, as skilled as she had demonstrated she was, I didn't like the idea of hanging back leaving her outnumbered.

"Four." She said simply.

"I don't think it's a good idea for you to go it alone." I noted.

"You may be a hero, but you're not law enforcement, in my eyes you're both technically civilians, I'm not willing to let either of you rush into danger."

"That's kind of what heroes do." Hizashi pointed.

"Fantastic, I'm sure other law enforcement agents would gladly let you step in the way and create more paperwork for them...I'm not them. Stay until it's clear and secure the hostages." She growled before exchanging her empty clip for a new one. Cocking her firearm, she darted into the hall and took off at a fast run toward the door.

The thugs opened fire. "Damn it." I groaned and darted after her getting the feeling she was going to need some back up.

As I rounded the corner I saw her bolt forward she fired three non-lethal shots disarming three of the masked thugs. The fourth one lunged at her with weapons drawn. She partially ran up the wall opposite the door they were guarding as he lunged for her. Flipping with ease, landing behind him she pressed the barrel of her gun against the back of his head. He swiped behind him with his blade but she deflected it with her hunting knife.

"Hands on your head." She ordered the thug her voice cool and level not even looking the slightest bit out of breath from her attack. Her onyx eyes glanced in my direction before narrowing, "I told you to stay out of sight until it was cl-." A gasp of pain escaped her lips.

There was a knife protruding from her back between her shoulder blades. I activated my quirk and looked behind her revealing a fifth thug with a chameleon like appearance with the ability to completely mask himself. I hurriedly caught him with my scarf and knocked him unconscious as Arisa struggled to stay on her feet. She reached behind her with a trembling hand and winced at the effort, the blade was keeping her from being able to reach it. The thug she'd been handcuffing before being stabbed realized what had happened and reached back to swipe at her again.

Hizashi let out a yell from behind me that instantly rendered all of the thug's unconscious. The thug who'd been about to attack her dropped his hold on his weapon and collapsed to the ground. Arisa let out a cry of pain from the loud reverberating sound waves and clapped her hands over her ears. Once the thugs were down Hizashi halted his auditory assault.

Arisa shot a glare in our direction. "What about the hostages?! Idiot!" She reached back again ignoring the pain and wrenched the blade from her back before tossing it to the ground with a wince. "If any of them are hurt that's going on your record." Her voice was strained from the pain but she stubbornly stayed on her feet keeping her face a poised emotionless mask.

"I get the feeling she doesn't like us much." Hizashi muttered.

"Where'd you get that idea?" I mused.

"Really, you haven't noticed? She really seems to hate us." Hizashi completely missed my sarcasm, as usual.

Arisa opened the door with her gun at the ready, blood was soaking the back of her shirt but she refused to rely on us. The hostages were inside, she breathed a sigh of relief before motioning for us to join her.

"Untie them all, I'll clear the stairwell." She ordered calmly before turning toward the door.

My hand moved on its own catching her small wrist. "Why don't you let us take care of that, you're injured."

Her glare was frightening, "I know my limits, I'm nowhere near them. Please release me or I shall consider this an act of aggression toward an officer of the law and will be forced to subdue you."

"Yikes." Hizashi chuckled and wandered off to untie the hostages.

"Consider it whatever you want, it's reckless for you to try and clear the entire building in your current condition." I shot back at her.

"You have to the count of three to let go." She hissed.

"I don't understand, is it pride, are you trying to prove something here?"

"One."

I stared down at her in disbelief. Why was she being so stubborn?

"Two."

"Arrest me, then, I'm not letting you go alo-." I didn't get to finish my sentence and she didn't say 'three' before her elbow slammed into my gut with enough force my vision darkened as all the air rushed from my lungs. Her knee connected with my face the moment I stumbled forward and before I could register everything that had just happened in that split second, I was lying face down on the ground with my hands twisted painfully behind my back. The cool metal of handcuffs rubbing against my wrists brought me to my senses. She handcuffed me!

Hizashi was staring with his mouth agape and his glasses half dangling off his face as Arisa sauntered away with her weapons drawn. True to her word, she cleared the entire building single-handed without a single casualty on either side.

A/N: Since I'm still a little on the bleh side and feeling like I'm in a very self-depreciating place, let me know if you want me to continue with this one, I did have a few 'back-up' ideas for Aizawa that I could pursue instead... but let me know :) Thanks everyone
