Chapter Thirteen
A/N: Arisa gets a lil bit murdery, tee hee
~Arisa's POV~
I looked to the clock on the wall and back to the idiot politician droning on and on about shit I didn't care about after I told him to make this quick. Slamming my hands on my desk causing the politician and the few detectives that had dropped in on the meeting to jump.
"Alright, time's up, my capacity for bullshit has reached it's limit, out of my office!" I snapped as I leapt to my feet and grabbed my black motorcycle jacket from the coat rack by the door before violently motioning for the fat lard of a man who was still staring at me completely dumbfounded to leave my office.
"Excuse me, young lady but I worked in a recruitment office for the military for years." The fat lard was trying to pull rank.
"You're excused, I was in special ops, anymore pissing contests you'd like to have right now?" I growled causing the few detectives in my office to choke back laughter. "I already told you I was on a time crunch, you insisted on barging into my office for this pointless meeting that I still have no idea what the actual subject matter for said meeting was, if its that important send me a fucking email, I've got places to be and shit to do. Bye now, have a nice day." I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and walked him out of my office before turning to Detective Tsukauchi, "What the hell was that about?"
"I think he was hoping he'd get your support for the upcoming mayoral election." Detective Tsukauchi said with a shake of his head. He was the first Detective I'd met when I joined the police force and we'd become friends over the years.
"Yeah, that's not happening, obviously can't make a fucking point to save his life. Alright, I'm off for the rest of the day, don't call me, for any reason, I don't even care if the station is on fire, not my problem. I'm taking a personal day tomorrow at my husband's request and insisting he stay home with me, I want zero disturbances. Got it?!"
"You deserve it, Captain, enjoy your extended weekend." Detective Tsukauchi smiled and waved farewell as I raced out of my office and ran to the parking lot to my awaiting bike. I peeled out of the parking lot and sped through traffic to get to the off campus USJ facility.
As I drew closer to the facility I came to a screeching halt as I spotted a figure in some kind of weird suit that almost looked like an old-fashioned knight with exhausts coming from the calves. He ran to me.
"Mrs.- Ah-, Captain Aizawa! The USJ is under attack by villains." He looked like he was about to start rambling. I held my hand up to silence him and retrieved my phone from my pocket, there wasn't any signal.
The villains probably had some kind of quirk that canceled out technology to make it difficult to get help so one of the pros sent this student to get help. I handed him my phone, "Take this, keep going, the moment it has reception I need you to dial the number 9 and press send, when the line is answered give only the address of the USJ and hang up. Understand?"
"Yes ma'am." He saluted me.
"Get going." I waved him on and sped off toward the USJ running a mental calculation of the equipment I had on my bike and on my person. Two hand guns, a riot gun, two hunting knives, and some ammunition for the riot gun, not much but it would have to do.
I cut the bike far enough away from the building they wouldn't hear me coming before grabbing the riot gun and some extra ammunition before stealthily sprinting toward the front door. As I got closer to the door, I could hear a few panicked students near the entrance. I wrenched the door open taking a quick peripheral scan identifying villains and students in a hurried sweep before firing off a series of shots with the riot gun, incapacitating a few thugs that had tried to reach the small gathering of students huddled around the fallen form of a pro hero in a white space suit, Thirteen.
Scanning the few students to make sure none of them were injured I addressed them calmly, "Can any of you use this?" I held up the riot gun.
One of the boys, a tall boy wearing an odd yellow suit with some tufts of dark brown hair poking out slowly raised his hand.
"Alright, congrats you're a temporary deputy, you have my complete authorization to use this non-lethal firearm how you see fit to keep you and your fellow students safe." I tossed him the gun and all the ammunition I had for it, before taking another visual sweep. It appeared some of the students had been scattered to various different rescue sites within the facility. Though from those I could see they all seemed to be handling their own well enough.
My gaze fell on Shota struggling against a horde of foes, from the looks of it he'd been fighting on his own for a while. "Shit." I swore under my breath before yelling at the top of my lungs, "LISTEN UP CRIMINALS! CAPTAIN ARISA AIZAWA CHIEF OF POLICE, YOU'RE ALL UNDER ARREST SURRENDER NOW OR I WILL BE USING LETHAL FORCE TO NEUTRALIZE YOU!" I fired off a single shot from my pistol into the air. The villains still standing in the center of the building near the fountain where Shota was fighting paused and turned to me.
"YOU AND WHAT ARMY, CAPTAIN?" One of them guffawed.
"Wrong answer." I growled and fired a single bullet right between his eyes before sprinting into the fray. "IF YOU DON'T WISH TO DIE, I SUGGEST DROPPING TO THE GROUND AND PUTTING YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD!"
"You're the only one dying here, girli-." Another villain lunged for me, I easily avoided his swing, barely shifted the position of my wrist and fired a single shot through his skull.
A deadly calm focus washed over me, I felt like was back in the special forces, back in all those kill or be killed missions where every second was a fight to survive. After seeing two of their compatriots gunned down, a few of the villains surrendered.
"You've only got two guns and you've already wasted three bullets you can't have more than 27 shots left." A man with what looked like shark teeth grinned as he darted toward me.
"Glad you can math." I calmly shot him between the eyes.
Twenty-six bodies later and I was out of ammo but they were still pouring from everywhere. I retrieved my hunting knives from tucked within my combat boots. Once I'd run out of ammunition, the villains that had surrendered and laid on the ground were now on their feet joining in the fray. My muscle memory took over as I avoided lethal blows, flipped out of harm's way and slashed with a deadly precision. Knives were my specialty, I had a much higher kill count with knives as we often needed stealth on our side in special forces. I ditched my jacket using it to throw at one of the villains to throw him off as five of them tried to swarm me at once before flipping over the head of the one opposite him kicking him forward into the others. Landing swiftly on my toes I propelled myself forward as they all stumbled together. Making quick work of them I was starting to finally see some progress; the horde was dwindling.
I could hear Shota struggling nearby, he sounded injured. Adrenaline coursed through my veins, spurning me forward. My body moved on autopilot, blocking blows from fists, and blades and slashing back reflexively. In a matter of minutes, I'd cleared the horde leaving a single man with weird disembodied pale hands clinging to his body standing. Not too far behind the guy with the hands was a weird bird like humanoid creature with a terrifying looking beak and an exposed brain sticking out of his skull pinning Shota to the ground holding one of his clearly broken arms in its monstrous hand. There was a spattering of blood on the ground in front of him from a head wound I couldn't see with his long dark hair hanging in his face obscuring it from view. A dark murderous rage I hadn't felt in a very long time coursed through my veins. My vision went red as I sprinted forward, moving faster than I had ever moved before. In the next moment I was barreling into the strange bird like creature.
It lost its hold on Shota's broken body and let out a wail as I rammed both knives into the base of its neck. It gripped my arms tightly in its massive hands before swinging me like a ragdoll and sending me flying. I managed to twist in the air and land on my feet a few meters away as it tried to finish off Shota. Lunging forward I swept low to the ground and managed to reach up and retrieve one of my knives. Keeping low to throw off it's center of gravity, I waited for it to take a swing at me and wrapped my legs around its arm before flipping into a back handspring. Due to the shift in its center of gravity it flipped with me and hit the ground hard. As I continued the flip, I brought my leg down swiftly kicking the knife still embedded in its neck further in. Why the hell wouldn't it die?
The monstrous bird creature grabbed me by the ankle just as I managed to check Shota's pulse and pull his scarf away from him. He was still alive but he was in bad shape and fading in and out of consciousness. I managed to get the scarf around the bird monster's arm as he tried to hurl me away. Tightening my grip on the scarf I flung myself back at him. The bird creature moved faster than I was able to perceive and caught me in a complex grapple.
Utilizing every martial art technique known to man, I struggled to break from it's grapple and avoid its lethal beak. Stumbling back from him a few paces being sure to keep myself between him and Shota, someone grabbed me by the shoulders. I felt a blinding pain as it felt as if my skin were drying out rapidly and cracking away like chipped paint, all the way down to the fleshy bloody sinew beneath, revealing bits of bone. I wrenched my head back cracking the weird hand guy's skull with my own. As he released me from his hold I swiveled around with my knife in hand and managed to get a small shallow slash in his chest.
Something sharp pierced my back just above my left shoulder blade, I felt the back of my shirt instantly become soaked in blood and grimaced at the pain before kicking behind me. The monster bird creature was far too strong and barely moved back more than a few paces from the force of my kick. This thing was as strong as All Might!
Now with two troublesome foes, and a third shadowy man that had made an appearance, I wasn't liking our odds. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted three students hiding in the water nearly thirty meters away watching the scene before them in horror. The man with the disembodied hands seemed to notice them at the same moment. I hurled my knife at the bird brain creature before throwing the scarf to the hand man managing to catch him around the middle as he sprung for the kids.
I flew after him with the help of the scarf as he reached for the girl in the middle with the long deep green hair wearing the green and black suit. "MOVE!" I yelled to the kids as I landed swiftly beside the man with the hands and caught his arm in a grapple that instantly dislocated his arm before flipping off the ledge, taking him with me into the water. As we fell beneath the water's surface, I felt his other hand encircle my throat and let out a gasp of pain underwater as I felt the skin on my neck beginning to break away.
Managing to kick him away from me, I scrambled to pull myself out of the water just as I heard the door to the entrance burst open with a crash. It was All Might! Flipping to my feet, I put myself between the villains and Aizawa and the kids that had thankfully listened to me and were quick enough to get to shore and away from the villains. A moment later All Might appeared at my side with Shota's unconscious body in his arms.
I looked to the three students, "Take Mr. Aizawa with you and get back to the entrance with the rest of your class, now."
All Might looked down at me in concern, "You well enough to keep fighting, Captain?"
I nodded as he handed off Shota to the three students. "Think you can handle bird brain here? I'll take out handsy over there if you can give me a quick boost."
The students reluctantly did as they were bid, the fanboy seemed worried about us. All Might nodded his agreement and held out his hand as I ran toward him. I stepped into the palm of his hand and clenched all of my muscles as he hurled me into the air. Flipping over the bird brain's head I landed swiftly in front of the man with the pale grey tinged blue hair. His red eyes widened as I swung my fist at him not even the slightest bit slowed down from my injuries.
He scrambled to dodge my attacks each time he dodged he got a little closer until one of my hits finally landed, hitting him right in the sternum with enough force I heard a faint crack from his chest as he fell backward. From the sounds behind me, All Might's attacks weren't having any kind of effect against the bird brain creature. I could hear the students cheering him on from the entrance but paused as I heard a concerning sound from behind me, All Might was hurt. Chancing a glance in his direction I saw him trapped in some kind of suplex move bent over backward holding the bird brain creature in a grapple. It appeared the shadow villain had stepped in and was using some kind of quirk to create weird warp gate portals that kept the bird monster from getting smashed into the ground.
"You think it's smart to look away from me?" Handsy snapped at me, I ducked to avoid his swing and smacked his other arm away from me being sure to cause the dislocated bones to rub together in just the right way to put him in excruciating pain.
I caught his good arm as he attempted to grab me and grabbed him by the back of the neck with my other hand before forcing him to the ground pinning his hands behind his back twisting them painfully behind him. "A word of warning villain, if by some miracle you make it out of here alive if I ever see you or any of your goons NEAR my husband again, I will kill you."
The man with the hands gripping his body let out a cry of pain as I twisted his arms threatening to dislocate his other arm. "Talk about police brutality." He hissed.
I snapped his wrist with ease urging another cry of pain from him, "I've been very gentle so far, don't press your luck villain. Now, you're under arrest, I advise you stay put." I secured him with the scarf before preparing to rush to All Might's aid but paused as a handful of students arrived, the fanboy amongst them. "What the hell are you all doing?!" I snapped.
The students stared at me in horror, I probably looked like I'd just walked off the set of a horror movie due to all the exposed muscle bone and sinew around my neck and shoulders from the handy man's quirk. One of the villains laying on the ground near me, playing dead, lunged at me. My eyes never left the four students as I reached up, catching the villain's wrist ,of the hand with the knife, in my hand. A simple twist and his wrist snapped in my hand, the knife clattered to the ground. Wrenching him toward me, I hooked my other arm around his neck with ease placing my hand by his ear. I made a single twisting motion. There was a sickening crack as his neck snapped before I dropped his lifeless body to the ground as my special ops training took over.
"All of you get back to the entrance." I ordered the students as I scooped up the knife the villain had dropped before hurling it with precision at the bird brain creature slicing through the tendon in its wrist causing it to loosen it's hold on All Might, all while maintaining my hold on the villain with the hands covering his body.
All Might managed to break from the creatures hold as one of the teenage boys with two toned red and white hair activated his quirk. Ice spread from across the ground at his feet and froze half of the bird creature's body. All Might sprung to his feet putting himself between the students and the bird brain creature. One of the teens, a boy with unruly dusty blonde hair that was sticking up at odd angles and bright crimson eyes, was holding the shadowy villain down. The students hesitated not wanting to leave All Might and I on our own as we were both wounded but also not wanting to disregard my orders.
"Damn, we're in a real jam here." The villain beneath me grumbled as he realized his shadowy friend was now also being pinned down, by a teenager. "How could you let that brat get the best of you?" I didn't like the tone of his voice it sounded like, despite his current position, he wasn't worried. I dug my knee deeper into his spine causing him to wince, "Nomu." His tone was commanding.
The bird brain creature attempted to struggle to its feet but due to half its body being frozen its frozen limbs broke off. My eyes widened as it began to regenerate its limbs. No wonder he was hard to kill, he could fucking regenerate!
"First, I need out of this jam, then we need to free our method of escape." The villain beneath me growled. That meant it was coming for me first and the kid with the spiky hair second.
I scrambled to get Shota's scarf loose and prepare for the creature's attack. It moved faster than I could I had to time this perfectly! "All Might get the boy!"
"Go, Nomu!"
I flipped off the villain and let loose some of the scarf as I tensed waiting for its attack. Twisting in the air, I tightened the scarf at the exact moment I expected it to have reached me and smiled as I felt the scarf entwine around the bird brain creature. It wouldn't hold him long! Landing swiftly on the ground a few meters away, I tried to hurl the creature into the nearby pool of water. Its massive hand gripped the scarf just as I noticed the blonde boy disappear and reappear by the other students. It gave a tug trying to wrench me into its lethal beak.
I flew forward with a gasp as it easily overpowered me. As I was about to skewered by its deadly beak, I felt an arm encircle my waist catching me and pivoting to keep me out of harm's way. All Might saved me from certain death and hit the creature with a powerful blow.
"Get the children to safety, I'll handle it from here." He released me from his hold and I stumbled in the direction of the teens. I turned back to face the number one hero ready to argue until I realized his shirt was stained with my blood from where he'd caught me. My wounds were a lot more severe than I'd first thought.
"I'll leave the rest to you." I nodded before darting to where the teens were. "All of you with me, no arguments."
The teens surprised me by following me up the steps to the entrance. I heard police sirens in the distance and noticed some of the tension in the students begin to lessen as they drew nearer. As we reached the top of the steps, the fanboy vanished from sight and a moment later, the UA teachers showed up with the student that I'd run into on the road. My body relaxed slightly as I spotted Hizashi among them, as much of an idiot as he was, he and the others could handle it from here.
His eyes widened as he looked at my horrifying appearance. "Metalmura?! Are you o-?"
"I'm fine, please incapacitate the rest of the villains." I stepped past him and went to Shota's motionless form before crouching next to him and placing my index and middle finger to his neck searching for a pulse. It was there, steady and strong, he'd be alright. Breathing a sigh of relief, I got to my feet just as dozens of officers spilled in through the doors armed and ready for action. Time to get to work.
I calmly gave out orders to apprehend the remaining villains, to remove the bodies of those who didn't make it out alive, to get Shota and Thirteen to the two ambulances that had arrived and to get all the students debriefed outside of the building while the pros cleared everything else up. My officers jumped into action each going to their designated areas doing what I'd tasked them with as I followed Detective Tsukauchi and the students outside.
"Captain...aren't you going to go with your husband?" Detective Tsukauchi asked me warily, his deep brown eyes filled with concern.
"I'll meet them there, after I make sure all the students are okay." I replied calmly before turning to face the students, all save for one reckless fanboy that had thrown himself back into the fray before I could stop him.
The boy I'd given the riot gun to, returned it to me before joining his classmates outside the building. I offered him a smile as I accepted it before handing it over to an officer. The two ambulances took off with Thirteen and Shota, their sirens blaring.
"First, I just want to thank all of you for acting bravely, I realize that was probably quite traumatic and you will all be able to talk to a crisis counselor if you so choose, if that's not something you'd like to do," I motioned to Mia who'd just arrived and looked like she was about to have a meltdown after taking one look at me. She jumped into action as I summoned her and began handing each of the students my business card. "feel free to call me with any questions, concerns, comments, whatever...night or day, my cell phone number is on the back-."
"Captain! We've got press!" One of my officers called as a swarm of reporters appeared at the end of the street.
"Put up barricades." I ordered before heading to one of the squad cars and motioning for the deputy inside to hand me his radio. He hurriedly turned on the loudspeaker and handed me the receiver. "ATTENTION VULTURES, CAPTAIN AIZAWA SPEAKING, MY DEPUTIES ARE CURRENTLY PUTTING UP BARRICADES, DO NOT TAKE A SINGLE STEP CLOSER OR YOU WILL BE ARRESTED, I'M NOT REPEATING MYSELF AND I'M NOT FEELING PARTICULARLY MERCIFUL AND CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR ARREST WON'T BE PAINLESS, DO NOT TEST ME!"
All of the reporters froze in place and took a few steps back.
"THANK YOU! I WILL SEND A DEPUTY DOWN TO SPEAK WITH ALL OF YOU ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE ABLE TO DISCLOSE PLEASE BE PATIENT UNTIL THEN."
One of the reporters pulled out a megaphone, "CAPTAIN AIZAWA, YOU LOOK INJURED! ARE YOU OKAY?!"
I rolled my eyes, "I'M FINE! NEXT CIVILIAN TO USE A MEGAPHONE IS GETTING ARRESTED!"
They all quieted down and all the officers laughed.
"I didn't think I'd see the day, Captain, you trained the press." The deputy in the squad car chuckled.
"Captain Aizawa?" A girl with pink skin and fluffy pink hair, one of Shota's students, approached me along with a few other girls from the class, "Are Thirteen and Mr. Aizawa going to be okay?"
"They're in good hands. I'm sure they'll both pull through and I bet they're both just glad that you all are alright."
Once everything was under control and everyone's statements were taken, Hizashi joined me outside as I was ordering a deputy on what to say to the press. After sending my deputy on their way I turned to him. His bright green eyes, that he kept hidden behind triangular framed glasses, were filled with worry as he looked down at my injuries.
"Have I ever told you how amazing you are, Metalmura?" He smiled.
"You do anytime I buy you cereal." I pointed as I leaned against him, now that it was over, my strength was starting to waiver. "Can you take me to the hospital?"
"You know I'd do anything for you and Shota." He swept me off my feet, "You're my best friends." Tears welled in his eyes, "I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner."
