I Did It?

"I didn't do it!" Thora screamed, the bloodied knife clattered loudly to the floor.

She backed away, hearing silence descend on the restaurant. She didn't do it, he stumbled into her, right? She had to get out of there, she needed space to think.

She ran for the doors as fast as her feet would carry her. She dodged around people doing their shopping, hopped over a car bonnet that almost hit her, and darted into an alleyway. She stooped behind some boxes to catch her breath, staring down at the scarlet blood covering her hands.

"Did I do it?"
