Chapter – 9 – Do I remember everything?

"Ragini beta my morning was never so beautiful till today, your voice is so pure, and the bhajan which you were singing just made my day" Annapurna said to Ragini while taking prasad from Puja Thali which was presented to her by Ragini. 

"Good morning Ragini, Jiji is absolutely correct, I agree with her your voice is so pure. God bless you always" Sujata said while extending her hand for prasad. 

"But beta why did you get up so early? It's just 6 am in morning" Annapurna said while gulping the prasad. 

"I have a habit of getting early in the morning" Ragini said with sugar coated voice to impress her mother in laws. 

"It's very good" Annapurna said and continued "Sujata we need to do the rasoi rasam for Swara and Ragini." 

"Sure Ma whenever you say" Ragini agreed for Rasoi rasam. 

"Ma I will help Swara she is not feeling well and also she does not know cooking especially Marwari dishes" Ragini acted like perfect bahu adding flavours of concerned sister. 

"That's so sweet of you Ragini, but first we will check with Swara if she is ok then only, we will do this ritual else will just postpone it." Sujata said. 

"By the way Swara is not here she still did not come? Looks like she is still sleeping" Ragini said looking here and there. 

"That's good infact she should take complete bed rest; I will go and check on her or else we can ask Pari to take tea and coffee for both of them." Annapurna said making Ragini feeling anger inside her is raising for Swara.

Swara came out of washroom wearing yellow colour anarkali with chudidar, she was rubbing her hairs while staring at her husband who is in deep sleep. Swara was staring her handsome hubby, he is truly a charmer, even after 7 years of their relation she can feel fastening of her heartbeat when she looks at him. Sanskar was sleeping on his stomach holding one pillow with his hand near his chest with small smile on his face. Swara's trance was broken by knock on the door; she immediately went to open the room door without making any noise. 

"Good Morning Swara" Pari said with smile. 

"Good morning Bhabhi" Swara said while trying to take tray from Pari. 

"It' ok Swara, I will keep it here, and how are you feeling?" Pari said while stepping inside their room. She looked at the bed Sanskar is still sleeping. 

"Looks like you guys slept very late" Pari said while looking at Swara with teasing smile. 

Swara understood the hidden meaning behind Pari's question. 

"No Bhabhi nothing like that" Swara said while shifting her one hair strand behind her ear whereas her cheeks were painted with cherry red colour. 

"Wo apani nind puri kar raha hai, teen saal se soya nahi hoga" Swara said looking at Sanskar. 

"Please let him sleep some more time Bhabhi." Swara said in requesting tone. 

"Sure, no problem, you also take rest, I will send breakfast with Ramesh?" Pari said. 

"I am feeling very good now Bhabhi, and me and Sanskar will come downstairs for breakfast." Swara said holding her hand. Pari just nodded and left from the room.

"You look beautiful" Sanskar said while wrapping his hands around Swara's waist while looking at her in mirror. 

"You are awake, when did you wake up?" Swara said while rubbing her one hand in his jet-black silky hairs, Sanskar has rested his forehead on her shoulder with closed eyes. 

"Let me go Sanskar, Mom and Badi Ma will be waiting for me, I have kept your black coffee on coffee table please have it, get fresh and come soon." Swara said while opening her sindoor box. 

Sanskar holds her hand and turn her to face him, he took the sindoor box and feel her hairline, and then takes the mangalsutra and adorn her neck. 

"I love you Shona forever and ever and ever" saying he kissed her forehead. 

"I love you too" Swara said giving peck on his cheeks.

"Swara, I will help you with rasoi rasam." Ragini said while placing her hand on Swara's shoulder. 

Ragini took a mental note when Swara came downstairs that Swara is unaware about the heinous act of her's. Swara wass behaving normally with Ragini. 

"Ragini are you ok? Did Laksh came back?" Swara asked genuinely feeling concern about her sister and brother in law. She was aware what Laksh would have been going through she observed Laksh disappearance during her grihpravesh. Ragini just nodded in no with fake smile. 

"I am sorry Ragini, because of me and Sanskar, you and Laksh needs to go through with these all things." Swara apologised to Ragini holding her hand. 

"No Swara beta, it's not your fault, you should not say sorry, it's all played by destiny." Annapurna showered her love and care on Swara.

"Ragini, can you please make tea for me?" Swara, Ragini, Annapurna, Sujata looked back at the voice. Laksh was standing at the house temple entry. 

"ji, I will bring it right now" Ragini sounded happy since Laksh asked something from her for the first time. Laksh just gave one look to Swara who is looking everywhere except Laksh. 

Laksh just turned around and started going towards his room which is upstairs. Same time Sanskar was descending from the stairs. 

Sanskar looked at his little brother, "Lucky" Sanskar called him. 

Laksh stands in front of Sanskar. Both were not aware what should they speak to each other, destiny is taking their test. 

"Good Morning Bhai" Laksh said with small smile on his face. 

"Lucky are you ok?" Sanskar asked him while putting his hand on his shoulder. 

"Yes Bhai, and congratulations, I am happy for you, finally it's all sorted out the blunder which I created three years back." Laksh said shaking his head and continued "Because of me you and Swara suffered a lot. I am sorry Bhai." 

Sanskar just hugged his little brother. He felt his little brother has become so much mature and responsible. 

"I will just get freshen up and will join you guys for breakfast" Laksh said to Sanskar. Sanskar just nodded his head in agreement.

Annapurna and Sujata were looking at their entire family sitting together and relishing breakfast. Annpurna was tensed with Laksh reaction when he came back home today morning, she guessed he would not accept Swara and Sanskar's relation easily, he might create some rift and will again result in gloomy and tensed environment at MM. But surprisingly, he took it very sportingly, she was feeling proud of him. Laksh was silent on the dining table talking whenever its necessary opposite to his usual appearance but still Annapurna knew it will take time for him to move on. 

Swara had made Moong Daal Halwa where as Ragini has prepared Kheer and Paneer paratha. Both new daughter in laws have received great appreciations from family members along with nek.

"Adarsh Bhaiya there is call for you." Ramesh came at the dining hall with the cordless phone. Adarsh took the phone and talk with the caller. 

"Sanskar, SP Chatterji is coming home in afternoon, he needs to take statement from Swara." Adarsh said while cutting the call. 

"Statement for what?" Sujata immediately asked with worried lines. 

"Mom when Swara went missing from Badi, we registered police complaint. It's just a procedure. Swara you are ok with this? I will be with you" Sanskar asked Swara while holding her hand with assurance. 

Swara just nodded in positive response. 

But Ragini was sweating very badly, what if Swara is acting right now and spill all her crimes? Looking at Laksh calm and composed behaviour with Swara and Sanskar, right now he will not trust her. She needs to act fast to get in the trust book of Laksh, then only she can manipulate her family members. 

"Why it is needed, and it will give stress to Swara, why to remember old happenings when everything is fine now?" Sujata said with irritated face, she is getting back to her old avatar. 

"Also, we will be hosting muh dikhai rasam in the evening" Ragini's trace broke due to Sujata and Annapurna's voice. 

"It will not take much time Sujata, and we should obey rules Anu, as we all are law abiding citizens" DP said with smile.

"I was performing arti, Panditji from the temple asked me to give water to Sun, so I was standing on the Ghat and giving water, that time I felt some slight hit on my back and then I could not manage the balance and fall down in the river." Swara provided information to SP. 

She along with Sanskar were sitting at the study room in front of SP Chatterjii along with two constables one male and another female who were recording her statement. 

"Did you saw who pushed you? Do you think it was an accident?" SP asked Swara with narrowing his eyes. 

"It was dawn, morning arti was going on Ghat, there was huge crowd. And I was standing on the edge of the Ghat. So.... It was an accident, why somebody will push me intentionally?" Swara said with confused expressions while looking at Sanskar, who was holding her hand in his. 

"Mrs. Maheshwari, I am just trying to understand what would have been exactly happened on that morning. I will need this information to close the case. By the way, when did you send that MMS to Mr. Laksh Maheshwari? Before leaving the home or after leaving the home?" SP Chatterjii continued his questions to Swara. 

"Which MMS?" Swara asked with blank face. 

Sanskar jerked with her answer he looked at her with horrified expressions. 

"Sanskar which MMS they are talking about?" Swara said panicking not remembering the MMS and looking at Sanskar's horrified face. 

"Do I remember everything Sanskar? Am I missing anything? Why I am not remembering the MMS part?" tears started to fall down from her eyes. 

Sanskar wrap his hand around her shoulder and took her in side hug. 

He just nod in "No" looking at SP without Swara's realisation, asking him not to ask anything further. 

"Shona its nothing like that, you remember everything, it's just a routine question, and one more thing we all don't remember everything. We humans always remember the main things, events and milestones happened in our life. For example, three days back how many times you drank water or how many exactly total messages you received on your whatsapp? Do you remember it?" Swara nodded in no while raising her head from his chest and looking at him. 

"See not only you but anybody will not be able to answer these questions." Sanskar tried to convince her. 

"SP sir do you have any other questions?" he said to SP with pleading look for not to proceed.

"Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Maheshwari, I think we are good to close this case. I am sorry Mrs. Maheshawari if you have caused any trouble because of us" Saying thing SP shake hands with Sanskar and left the study room. 

"Now let's go upstairs you have not taken any rest from morning, sleep for some time after taking your medication." Sanskar said while getting up from sofa diverting her mind. 

"Sanskar what should I wear for evening?" Swara asked him. 

"Anything Shona, you look beautiful whatever you wear." Sanskar said while coming out of study room holding Swara by her shoulder.

"Jiji how much more time these police will take? Why don't they understand our Swara is not feeling well, still they are troubling her." Sujata said while looking at closed study room door with frustration. 

"Sujata, Sanskar is with her na, he will handle it." Annapurna said and continued "Ragini beta go upstairs and take afternoon nap, you will feel good, evening will be tiring." 

"Yes Ragini, beautician will be coming at 5 let's take our quick beauty sleep, don't worry about Swara, she will be fine." Pari thought Ragini is worried for her sister, but in reality Ragini was worried about her existence in this house. 

When SP came out and walk towards main entrance to leave, she felt huge burden went away from her head. She took sigh of relief. 

"Look our love birds are coming" Uttara said teasingly to Swara and Sanskar.

"Welcome Shekhar ji and Sharmistha ji please come." Ram and DP welcomed Gadodia family. 

Gadodia family came at MM for Muh Dikhai function. Close relatives and acquaintances are invited for function. 

"Can I go and meet my Laddoo?" Dadi asked to DP, DP nodded his head and asked Ramesh to take Dadi upstairs. 

"Laddoo you are looking very beautiful, kisiki nazar na lage mhari laddoo ko." Dadi said while entering Ragini's room along with Sharmishtha. Ragini was getting ready with the help of Annapurna and Pari. 

"Kakisa now you came I will quickly go and check on Swara, whether she is ready or not?" Annapurna said while putting chunari on Ragini's head. 

"My bahu is looking very pretty." Saying this Annapurna put kala tika behind her ears and instructed. "Pari you go downstairs and please look after guests." 

"Laddoo everything is fine na? that chori is not troubling you right?" Dadi asked when Annapurna and Pari left the room to Ragini while caressing her face. 

"Ma I will just go and check on Swara" Sharmishtha said while going after Annapurna and Pari. 

"Go and tell her to leave this house and let my laddoo live peacefully, I hope Shekhar have already talked to you. I will ask Shekhar to forgive Swara and accept her" Dadi said to Sharmishtha, she halted while nodding her head. 

"Dadi ma hum thik hai, but I am feeling left out everybody is looking after Swara only" Ragini said with tears in her eyes.

"Wow Bhabhi you are looking ravishing. No doubt why bhai fall for you so deeply" Uttara said widening her eyes. 

Swara was wearing light peach colour lehenga, with minimal make up and decked up rose gold diamond set gifted to her by Sanskar as her rasoi rasam nek. Swara closed her eyes, lower her head hiding her blush. 

"Really Swara, my son is very lucky that he got such a beautiful wife. After this function Uttara remind me, inn dono ki nazar utar dungi." Sujata said while putting kala tika behind Swara's ear. 

"Swara beta you are looking very pretty" Annapurna said while stepping inside Swara's room along with Sharmishtha. 

"Badi Bhabhi wo bade sahib aapako bula rahe hai" Raghu said while standing at the door step. 

"Ok ok, chalo Sujata, Swara beta I will send Sanskar you can come with him ok?" Annapurna said while lightly kissing Swara's forehead.

"What are you doing Swara?" Sharmishtha asked once she noticed Annapurna and Sujata have left the room. 

"What do you mean mumma?" Swara said while turning towards Sharmishtha, she is wearing bangles. 

"Stop this, you will not get anything by doing this. Ragini and Laksh are married you have lost your chance. Now you cannot break their marriage." Sharmishtha said very calmly trying to make Swara understand. 

"I am married to Sanskar then why will I try to break their marriage Mumma." Swara asked with confusion. 

"Because you realised your mistake and now want to go back in Laksh life" Sharmishtha said with gritted teeth. 

"Mumma first thing I was never interested in Laksh, even though I was not remembering Sanskar. Me and Sanskar are married, and we love each other to the core." Swara said while shaking her head and turning her back towards Sharmishtha. 

"I don't believe it, you both are walking on wrong path, which will lead to destruction. Trust me Swara, let's go back, Shekhar said he will forgive you and accept you" Sharmishtha said holding Swara's hand and turning her towards her. 

"I don't care what you and your husband believe, you guys can believe whatever you feel is right, and I will do whatever I feel is right." Swara said with smile and slowly releasing Sharmishtha's hold from her wrist and again turning towards mirror. 

Sharmishtha looked at her daughter with bewilderment, she is the same Swara standing in front of her who fought with her to go to US for higher studies when Shekhar and his family was in complete denial mood. This Swara is different from the one which was leaving with her from last three years. 

"Shall we leave Shona? Are you ready?" Sanskar asked while stepping in his room. 

"Yes, Sanskar let's go I am ready." Swara said while stepping out from her room ignoring her mother.

"Are you ok?" Sanskar asked with worried line on his forehead to Swara holding her hand, he had already heard conversation between Swara and Sharmishtha. 

"Yes don't worry, just ignore" Swara said while shaking her head. 

"hmm don't spoil your mood, I am there na. By the way my wife is looking very beautiful" Sanskar said while giving light peck on Swara's cheek. 

"What are you doing? Stop it we are not in room." Swara said making safe distance from her husband looking everywhere. 

"Ok then let's go to room and then continue. I will tell Badi Ma that her bahu don't want to come downstairs" Sanskar said with naughty smirk. 

"Tum kabhi nahi sudharoge" Swara said while tapping her palm on her forehead. 

"Sudharana chahata bhi kon hai?" Sanskar replied while laughing loudly.

"I need you to find out exact timing and location from where MMS has been sent to Laksh mobile. I know Laksh has received MMS between 8:30 AM - 9 AM. Find the exact sending time. The case is not closed." Sanskar typed this text on his phone and send this to SP Chatterjii. 

He had already taken SP's number from Adarsh. He looked at Swara who was right now sleeping wrapping her one hand around his stomach, she was tired with Muh Dikhai function, Sanskar was sitting on bed with support of headrest working on his MacBook.
