Chapter 43: First Day Blues
Okay, Moonwalkers. Before you read the chapter, I have a couple things to say. Firstly, how would you feel about seeing a new story from me? From Off The Wall sort era, or the more cliché Bad era? I have two that I plan to publish, but I want your opinion, so please let me know. :) Secondly, and more importantly, I've said this on my other recent updates. I would like to dedicate this chapter to theladyinmylife because on August 9, 2015, she lost her life at too young an age. She was a Moonwalker, and although I didn't know her personally, when I found out about her death, I felt like I had lost a member of my family. Moonwalkers are all family here... and, if you haven't already, if you could all write a short message on her wall to pay respects to our lost family member, it would mean so much to me. RIP, Gone Too Soon. Fly high.❤️
Chapter 43
I open my eyes, feeling the grogginess in them as I do so.
It's the first full morning here, December 16, 1992.
I look to my left and see Michael sleeping still. He really looks cute, I must say.
His eyes are closed gently, his eyelashes perfectly aligned and touching the skin under his eyes, and his soft black curls are draped here, there and everywhere; most of them have come out of the ponytail he's... kinda sporting.
It's silence in the room, apart from Michael's breathing and my own. Michael's is louder though, as he's in a deep sleep and can't control that.
I hate to ruin his sleep, but it's already quite late in the morning.
"Michael?" I coo softly, shaking him gently. "It's morning, wake up."
He squeezes his eyes tighter shut, and then opens them and blinks a few times. "Oh, morning already? Ugh..."
He looks to his left and sees the balcony, and the sun shining through the window.
"Ugh!" he groans, turning back my way to avoid eye contact with the light. "Damn, that's bright!"
"I know," I laugh. "Anyway, up! We gotta go to Jasper and Charlie's room to get them up, too!"
He scowls at the idea of being without bed, but eventually gets up.
We both head into the adequately-sized bathroom and freshen up a little. Once that's done, we change clothes, to more summery ones.
Despite being winter, it's warm here, still.
"Now then," Michael starts. "I've not kissed you since last night. Now we've brushed our teeth and all that jazz, I think I deserve to feel those pretty lips of yours..."
He bends down and kisses me, and I let out a laugh. "Happy now, Doctor?"
"Hmm, it's sufficient for now," he smirks. "But just wait til later, Patient."
I lick my bottom lip and grin seductively. "I'll be waiting."
I walk out the door ahead of him, but then I feel him slap my backside, and I turn around to see him biting his lip and raising his eyebrows.
"Just getting a little somethin' in before tonight," he states.
I roll my eyes and laugh, and we arrive at Jasper and Charlie's door. I knock on it loudly, "Jasp! Charlie! Up, up! It's a new day!"
After about a minute of waiting, the door opens, and I see a very tired-looking Charlie. "Morning, Becks."
"Get ready, we're going to the pool today!" I announce.
"Okay, calm yourself girl! Back in a few," he chuckles, closing the door again.
"Well, that leaves us alone then," I joke.
Michael nods, "It sure does. Hey, look! No one's walking through the corridors, what a shame!"
Then, without warning, he pushes me up against the wall and kisses me tenderly, resting one hand on my baby bump.
The kiss goes on, pleasurably, until we hear the door open.
"Oh, we're interrupting!" I hear Jasper's voice.
"Shush, you!" I laugh, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Aw, don't worry about it. I'm sure me and Jasper have done it at some point," Charlie winks.
He takes Jasper's hand, and Michael takes mine, and we all head out to the pool.
We're wearing normal clothes right now, but with our costumes underneath, so we can slip them off when we get down to the pool.
We enter reception, and pass through it to get to the pool. It's rather large, with a shallow end, a deep end, a kids' end, and a bubbly, Jacuzzi-like section.
I know which part I'm going in.
After we've all stripped our normal clothing off, Charlie and Jasper run hand in hand to the pool and jump in together.
That's really cute, I'm not gonna lie.
"Ooh, our turn," Michael says, taking my hand carefully.
We walk over to the pool and get into the Jacuzzi section, and feeling the bubbles instantly calms me.
"Ugh, this feels nice," Michael groans lowly, allowing himself to sink into the water a little more.
"It really does," I add.
I look at the main pool area, where Jasper and Charlie are swimming in the deep end together. Jasper is swimming backwards, Charlie forwards, and they're opposite each other, using one another's shoulders as supports to keep them above the water.
They look like they're coming over our way, so I whistle and call, "Hey! Over here!"
They eventually reach us, and get in the Jacuzzi part with us.
"So... what are we doing after this?" I ask.
"Me and you need to go baby shopping," Michael answers.
"Aww! Can we come, too?" Charlie asks adoringly.
I let out a light giggle, "Sure, if you wanna!"
I then place my hand on top of my stomach, feeling the baby move.
"Baby kicking?" Michael asks.
I nod, and he rests his hand atop mine, and a smile instantly forms on his face. "Oh God, two more months and I get to meet Mini!"
"Okay, this is too cute to handle!" Jasper gasps, clasping his hand over his mouth. "Charlie, we gotta adopt a child, too... we have to! It seems so exciting!"
Charlie looks at Jasper, "We can do that, of course. Oh, imagine how wonderful that'd be?"
Jasper nods in agreement, and I look down at my bump. "Two months... gosh..."
"I bet Mini's kicking cos he or she can feel the warm water. It's common with pregnancy; the baby feels the warmth of it and reacts to it by kicking... it's cute, really," Michael states.
"I really don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you to tell me all this," I say.
"Uh... hmm... I guess... yeah, you're right," Michael winks.
"Cheeky," I name-call playfully.
He giggles childishly, and I tut and roll my eyes at his silliness.
This man... I swear...
--
I came out of the pool about ten minutes ago, but all the boys are still in it. They're having a nice time without me, so I shouldn't ruin that for them.
I have Mini with me, anyway.
A brunette girl keeps looking at me from across the other side of the pool. I'm growing a little intimidated, but I'm not letting it show.
I try to keep my eyes on Michael, to indicate I'm not alone, but I can't help but let my gaze wonder back to this girl. She looks about twenty-one, if that.
And she's prettier, younger and... more perfect than me. I wonder if she's got a boyfriend.
"Becky!" I hear Michael call, and I look into the pool to see him waving at me and grinning.
"Hey, Michael!" I call back.
"Guess what? I love you!" he calls, making everyone look at either me or him.
I feel my cheeks warming up at the attention we're getting. "Love you, too, Michael," I mutter.
"Can't hear you!" he teases.
I get up from my seat and walk right over to him. "I said I love you too."
"You ruined the fun!" he complains. "You coulda shouted it, made it more fun!"
"Oh well," I breathe, walking back over to my seat by the side of the pool.
I glance over at the girl again, and she's giving me a sort of disgusted look... maybe without even realising it.
She then looks at Michael in the pool, and so do I.
He's getting out, and he's wet through - his perfect chest, his legs, his black curls... all of him.
Knowing this man is mine is what makes this the best thing.
The girl takes her bottom lip into her mouth, and stares at Michael in awe.
Jealous of my man? Cute.
Michael climbs up the pool steps, taking his hair bobble out of its ponytail and allowing his hair to droop down his back, his chest, and forehead.
God, why did you create a man with so much sexiness? I can barely take looking at my own boyfriend!
He begins to approach me, but the girl stands up and walks his way. She says something to him, and he replies.
However, he's at such a distance that I can't hear any of their words... I wonder what they're speaking of.
She gives him a girly smile, and he returns a handsome, gorgeous beam - which makes me a little jealous - and he walks back over to me.
"What did she want?" I ask sternly.
"Oh, nothing," he replies, sitting on the sunbed by me.
"Wow, you really must think I'm stupid," I hiss. "What did she say?!"
"Hey, hey, calm down sweetheart. It was nothing, just a friendly hello, that's all!"
"Didn't look like it, the way you were smiling at her... that's the way you smile at me when you're "prescribing" me with your "medication"!"
"Hey, I said calm down!" he argues.
He's getting angry at me... oh God...
"Becky... c'mon now, don't cry!" he sighs. "God, these hormones of yours."
"Leave me alone," I growl, pushing him away from me.
"Becky, it was just a simple "Hello", okay? Nothing more!"
"I'm going to get a drink," I state, standing up and heading back to the hotel room.
Michael's POV
"No, Becky, c'mon!" I try to call, but she ignores me.
I start to follow her, but then I feel a grab on my arm.
I turn around to see the brunette girl. "Uhm... hello again."
"Hey," she smiles. "So... you never told me your name."
"I don't normally state my name to holiday-goers," I tell her.
"Aww, but, c'mon! Don't you like me?" she pouts.
"Um... is that a trick question?" I ask.
She laughs and places her hand on my upper arms. "Hmm... are they muscles I feel?"
"No," I say shortly. "Anyway, this has been fun-"
"Tell me your name. I wanna be friends!" she says innocently.
I let out a sigh, "My name's Michael. What about you?" I ask impatiently.
"I'm Sicily, which is ironic, cos I'm currently in Italy!" she giggles.
I give a nervous smile, with a nervous laugh to match. "Uh... good one! But er... I have a pregnant girlfriend to get to, so y'know, I'm just gonna... go..."
I force her grip off me, and begin heading upstairs to the hotel room.
I unlock the door, and enter the room to see Becky on the bed, crying into the bedsheets.
"Becky... it was just a simple hello! Why are you getting upset, sweetheart?"
She lifts her head and looks at me. Her face is red... I hate seeing her this way.
"Because," she sniffles. "You looked happier being with her, than you ever have being with me..."
"Oh, c'mon, I don't! I don't like her... she tried to speak to me when you came up here, but I told her I had to come to you... cos Becky, you seem to forget I love you, and we have a child on the way... do you remember that?"
She nods tearfully. "Yeah..."
"And this is totally all just your hormones because you're pregnant. It doesn't take a doctor to know that. Look, as soon as you've had Mini, you won't get upset like this... well, apart from when you're on your menstrual cycle, but-"
"Stop!" she tries to speak sadly, but I can hear a giggle and see a smile forming on her face.
She swats the air, hoping to slap me, but she misses completely.
"Missed," I tease.
"Hmm... well I'm sure not gonna miss later, when I'm aiming for your most sensitive spots tonight..." she says softly.
I wiggle my eyebrows, and she smiles faintly. "Sounds good, Miss Summers."
She sits up completely, and falls into my arms. "I'm sorry."
"Why?" I demand calmly.
"For being a hormonal, crazy bitch to you. You deserve way better than me."
"Oh, sweetheart," I chuckle, taking her more into my embrace. "I only want the best, and that's you. You might just be a hormonal, crazy bitch... but you're my hormonal, crazy bitch, and I love you."
She giggles at my cussing, "Whatever you say, Michael."
"Aww... but you totally missed the main point in that sentence."
"What, that you love me?"
"No!" I laugh. "That you're a hormonal, crazy bitch!"
She frowns, and I kiss her temple. "Nah, just kidding. I do love you, more than anything... excluding Mini. Always remember that."
"I love you too," she sighs.
Jasper and Charlie suddenly come through the door, and smile sweetly.
"We keep interrupting the smooshy moments!" Jasper snickers.
"Nah, it's okay," Becky says.
They come more inside the room, and sit on the bed with us.
Becky's POV
"This holiday's gonna be good, isn't it?" Michael asks.
Me, Jasper and Charlie agree with a nod of the head, and Michael holds me tightly.
"So... we're gonna buy stuff for Mini now?" he asks.
I look up at him and nod, "Yes... I'd like that."
We get up off the bed, and I hear Michael speak under his breath.
"Best holiday ever, with the most beautiful girl in the world..."
I said it all in the first authors note. Hope you liked this chapter. :)
