Chapter 44: Bisexual
Author's note: I have a new story in Off The Wall era, titled Stranded. Go check it out if you want!
We've been baby shopping now, and we've bought a few things - simple things like unisex clothing and cuddly toys and rattles.
Now, it's night, and I'm glad for it, cos I'm tired.
Jasper and Charlie already went to their rooms after saying goodnight to us, so me and Michael are alone in our room now.
It's past midnight - and yes, we've already prescribed our medication, and we're both extremely tired from it.
"Goodnight, sweetheart," Michael says softly, pecking my lips. "And goodnight, Mini."
"Night Michael," I reply, switching out the light.
As soon as I close my eyes, I'm brought into the world of sleep.
--
"Agh!"
I wake up suddenly, hearing Michael cry out breathlessly.
I widen my eyes, switching the bedside lamp on, and I look to my left to see Michael sat up, panting heavily, sweating immensely.
"Michael... what's wrong?" I ask.
He changes his breathing, exhaling out of his nose rather than his mouth, and allows his head to fall back onto the pillow.
"She's haunting me..."
"Who's haunting you?" I ask.
"Sh-She's out to get me... cos I killed her..."
"No, Michael... not Billie again... Michael, please..."
He turns to look at me, his eyes widened and sweat dripping from his curls.
"I freakin' killed her, Becky, and now she's out to get me... and I just... I can't take it!"
"Shh, calm down, Michael. She isn't out to get you... she's gone..." I comfort him.
"But--"
"Michael, if it makes you feel better, you can tell me about the nightmare you pretty-obviously just had."
He takes a deep breath. "It was... it was awful..."
"Tell me," I demand softly.
He sits up on the bed again, and leans his head on the headboard.
"M-Me and you, we were at the park... a-and we were being cute, like normal... y'know, sitting on the park bench together, kissing, snuggling, all that... and then I heard a voice that said, "You killed me... now it's my turn", and I turned around and saw Billie..."
"Keep going," I instruct.
"Sh-She was holding a chainsaw... it was switched off, but she had it in her hand, and was watching us. Then she said, "You took my happiness, so now I'll take yours", and then I grabbed your hand and we ran home together. We got home, and ran to our room, and hid in the closet, hiding ourselves real deep under the clothes and stuff..."
"Yeah?"
"But then she came into the room, and I heard the chainsaw start, and I was so scared of you and Mini dying, and myself... she opened the closet door, and then she found us right away... she dragged you out of the closet, and killed Mini with the chainsaw. Because Mini wasn't born, she had to use the chainsaw on you to get him or her, so you died too... it hurt so badly... and... and then..."
"Go on..."
"Then she got me out the closet and said, "If you wanna live, you gotta kiss me and..." she also asked me to..."
"What?" I push him for an answer.
"She asked me to... in her words, "Make sweet love to her", and I said no, cos I rather be with you and Mini in death, than without you in life... so she killed me too, and that's when I woke up..."
"Oh, Michael," I breathe. "She isn't out to get you. She couldn't if she wanted to; she's dead--"
"Because of me!" he suddenly cries.
"We've been through this," I sigh. "You were the cause of her death, but you never killed her yourself, now, did you?"
"I did, indirectly!"
"Michael, I can't do this right now. She isn't gonna get you, you didn't kill her, I'm seven months pregnant and very tired, and it's 3 in the morning. I love you, but goodnight."
I switch the bedside lamp off and turn on my side to get some sleep.
I then feel Michael's arms wrap around me from behind, as he's obviously trying to get to sleep, too, but needs me to comfort him, like I'm some sort of teddy bear.
As much as that's cute, I'm tired. He could spoon hug me any time, but now...
"I love you too, sweetheart," he finally speaks wearily, almost a minute after I last spoke.
--
It's now December 21, the penultimate day of the holiday. My birthday is tomorrow, and I'm so excited to be spending it with my boyfriend, my baby and my two best friends.
Michael, Jasper and Charlie are all plotting something. They said it won't beat my presents of Mini and the holiday here, but it doesn't matter.
Being with my three favourite men and my baby is enough of a present for me.
Right now, all four of us are walking through the Italian streets, looking for interesting things to buy for gifts.
After all, we do have $500 of money in euros to spend, so we might as well use a little bit of it.
We come to a little place on the corner of the road, which sells souvenirs and random little things as memoirs of the holiday.
We walk inside, and begin browsing.
"Ciao," the shop keeper greets.
"Ciao," we all reply, some of us simultaneously, others not.
We continue looking until I find a small red handbag with the words "Ciao Bella" written on the side, in "Coca Cola" style font.
"Oh Michael, look how cute this is!" I squeal, picking it up.
"It's certainly small... you want it?" he asks.
"Yes... please?"
"Okay, hold on," he takes the bag from my hand and places it on the counter. "Cuanto costa?"
God, he sounds sexy talking Italian. And for those who don't know, he said, "How much is this?"
"It is seven euros, please," the shop keeper says.
He has an Italian accent... sweet!
Michael pays him, and calls, "Grazie!"
"Prego!" the shopkeeper responds.
Jasper and Charlie spot little magnets in the shapes of gondolas, and purchase those.
Michael, on the other hand, decides to buy an Italian carnival/festival mask in the colours red and black.
We leave the shop, and Michael walks with me, with Jasper and Charlie walking behind.
"Sweetheart," he tells me. "Me, Jasper and Charlie have gotta do something in preparation for tomorrow. You can go back to the hotel if you want, and we'll meet you back there for dinner."
"Okay," I mutter.
He then kisses me once and walks off with Jasper and Charlie.
I walk slowly back to the hotel, and decide I'm gonna sit by the pool for a little while to keep myself slightly entertained.
I find a sun bed right by the pool, and take a seat. Looking to my right, I see that brunette girl in the pool, playing water volleyball with three girl friends.
I don't like the look of her. I still can't quite get over the way her and Michael smiled at one another on the first full day here.
She throws the ball to her friend, who has ginger hair, and then suddenly spots me.
She tells her friends something before getting out the pool and walking over to me.
"Hey," she greets casually, taking the sun bed by mine.
"Hi..." I speak uneasily.
"So you're dating that Michael dude?" she asks.
"How do you know his name?" I ask sternly.
"He told me it after you stormed out of this place," she replies. "We had our own little conversation. He has muscles, doesn't he?"
"Yes. And they're muscles that only I can touch, thanks."
"But I already felt them... he let me."
I widen my eyes. "Excuse me, but I think you should go play volleyball with your little friends over there. Leave my boyfriend alone."
"Oh, and what's the deal with the other two guys you hang 'round with? Are they gay? Bisexual? I hate those kindsa people, they shouldn't be allowed to exist if they can't love the opposite gender like normal people."
"Excuse me?!" I demand angrily. "How dare you talk about my best friends like that, you bitch?! Yes, they're bisexual, congrats! And their love is beautiful, unlike your attitude and your tiny brain. So go on, do one, and get out of my face!"
She fakes a shocked face, placing her hand on her chest. "Well, ain't you just rude!"
Then, she advances on me, and takes me by my shirt collar.
"Listen, lady, pregnant or not, if you speak to me about my own opinions in that manner ever again, I will end you, and take your hunk of a man for myself!"
I swallow nervously, trying to give my best angry facial expression.
I force her grip off me, and sit back down on my sun bed.
"Hmm, fair enough," I say.
This is part of my plan.
"Good," she says.
"But you do realise that Michael is bisexual, too? He woulda dated... uhm... Jasper, the older one of the bisexual relationship, if he hadn't met me. Yep, Michael sure does have an eye for the boys."
"What, he does?" she asks in disgust.
"Yep, oh hell yes. I'm a little nervous, seeing as they've all gone out together... they're spending time together as we speak," I lie.
"He's really bisexual?!" she asks.
I click my tongue and suck air between my teeth. "Sure is. Why, is that a problem?"
"Hell, yes! Ugh, why did he never tell me that? I woulda made sure to avoid him, then!"
Is this girl for real? Such a homophobic person, it's wrong!
"Ah, well, he was too busy worrying about me," I say. "I guess he didn't like you, either."
"B-But he smiled at me, and said hello to me... how did he not tell me he was bi?"
"Hmm, I dunno. Anyway, it's been nice chatting to you, but now I really must go to my room and wait for my bisexual boyfriend," I say.
"Okay. Tell..." she shudders, "Michael that Sicily doesn't like him any more."
"Uh... sure," I reply.
Walking off, I can't help but laugh. That girl is really stupid. And her name, Sicily? It's pretty, unlike her personality.
--
"Sweetheart?" I hear Michael call me from outside the room door.
"Yeah?" I reply.
"Can you unlock the door? Cos... I forgot the key to this room... sorry!"
I huff and get out of my comfortable position, and walk over to the door to unlock it.
He enters the room, and drops onto the bed. "Gosh, what an afternoon!"
"I could say the same thing," I breathe.
"How come? What happened?" he asks.
"God, where do I start?" I ask rhetorically. "Basically, after you, Jasper and Charlie left me to do... whatever, I went to the pool, and that Sicily girl you spoke to was there. She came up to me and we started talking about you. She said she thought you were... what was the word...? Uh..."
I pause to think. "Uhm... I think she said "hunk"..."
"What?!" Michael gasps.
"Wait, there's more. After she said that, I got angry at her and told her to leave us alone, and she took me by the collar and threatened to kill me--"
"I'm gonna kill her! Which room is she staying in?! I'll kill her! No one threatens my girl and my baby, never!"
He leaps up, but I push him back down onto the bed. "Let me finish... please?"
"Hmmph," he scowls, watching me once again.
"After that, she said she hated bisexuals and gay people, and then we got onto the conversation of Jasper and Charlie..."
"She's a homophobic? Is there anything good about this girl?!"
"Wait, Michael. I told her to stop talking about Jasp and Charlie like that... and then I kinda used it against her with you..."
"How?"
"I told her that you were bisexual, and she looked at me in disgust, and I was trying so hard not to laugh!"
"You told her I was bisexual, just so she'd avoid me? That's genius!" Michael laughs.
"Oh, yeah! And then she said, "Tell Michael I don't like him anymore"... I almost cried from laughter!"
"Oh, at least I got a smart girl!" he chuckles, pulling me close to him. "I'm glad you got her away from us. She was making me uneasy."
"And me. I can't believe that she wanted to kill me... I mean, I know it isn't literal, but y'know what I mean," I exhale.
"Nah, if she even touches you with her breath, I'll make sure she touches the ground after I've smacked her one," Michael says seriously.
I exhale through my nose, trying not to laugh at his "gangster" side, and he squeezes me tight.
"Oh, only two months to the date until Mini's due," he sighs contently.
"Two very short months," I reply.
Michael smiles, and kisses my forehead softly.
"Two months until my life will change forever..."
Well... that was certainly... different? I don't mean in any way to offend anyone with Sicily's views on sexuality. It's purely made up, and not my belief. I believe all love is beautiful - basically the same as Becky in this story. Hope you liked this chapter. :)
