"Firsts Are Always Unforgettable"

A date.

Jungkook finally asked Jimin out on a date. Yes, they still haven't gone out on a date, although they've been together for weeks now.

Jimin's starting to think that Jungkook isn't really sincere about him. That he only wanted Jimin to be his boyfriend to save him, to make him happy, so that . . . So that he won't kill himself.

Jungkook had always known that Jimin's in love with him. On the back of his mind, that thought has always been right there. But he was scared . . .

. . . So scared to admit it to himself, knowing that if he ever did, he'd also be facing his own feelings for Jimin that he had hidden for so long.

But of course, he didn't tell Jimin that. Those things really don't matter anymore. They're together now. They're happy now.

It's better now.

"Damn, you look fine," Taehyung teased as he watched Jimin staring at himself in the mirror. He has been like that for almost an hour now.

"You already look perfect, Jimin. Why are you still so worried?"

"It's because I'm going on a date with Jungkook," Jimin answered, grinning widely.

Taehyung felt his heart shatter to pieces and he knew that wasn't supposed to happen. He shouldn't feel like that anymore. He should just be happy for Jimin and Jungkook, since they're both his friends and if he does love Jimin, he really should be just happy for him.

But fuck, he was so beautiful.

The way his eyes shone as he let those words out of his mouth, especially when he spoke Jungkook's name. But it was Jungkook's name. Not Taehyung's.

He almost looked like the happiest man in the world, knowing his anxieties and negative thoughts were complete nonsense after all. That Jungkook loves him. He definitely does.

Although it hurt that Jimin was like that only because of Jungkook, it still made Taehyung happy. He felt insanely stupid for that but he tried not to care.

Yes, he felt like he was being shot multiple times because of the cruel reality, but neither that can really stop him from wanting Jimin to be happy.

Because he loves Jimin and Jimin is his everything. It doesn't matter who Jimin loves. It doesn't matter that Jimin doesn't look at him that way. What matters is that he's happy, not the reason why.

"Damn, Jimin. Did you really have to wear that?" Jungkook asked and gave Jimin a strange look.

"H-Huh?" Jimin stuttered, suddenly getting an uneasy feeling and his stomach churning in anxiety just by a single sentence from Jungkook.

Jimin was wearing the red leather jacket given to him by Jungkook on his birthday last year. He was also wearing a black and white striped shirt and a pair of black skinny pants, emphasizing his bouncy booty.

Jungkook scanned the orange-haired man from head to toe. Is he ogling him or judging him? Jimin chose to believe the latter. Of course, he did.

'Why? Do I look horrible? Embarrassing? Does he think I'm embarrassing him? Does he hate me now?'

"You look fucking hot," Jungkook smirked naughtily at Jimin. The latter tried to open his mouth but couldn't find any words to say.

Why does every single word from Jungkook have such a strong impact on him?

"Taehyung helped you with that? I think I like him now," the younger said, chuckling.

"Uh . . . Yeah. Okay. Anyway, thank you. I didn't know what to say so . . ."

"It's okay. You don't always have to reply to me. Just you looking at me and only me is enough to make me happy," Jungkook said and opened the car door for Jimin.

"I've always looked at you and only you, Jungkook."

The younger didn't pause for a moment, thinking of a reply but couldn't find any so, he just kissed Jimin on the forehead and went to his side of the car.

"Where are we going, Jungkook?" Jimin asked with a hopeful but curious expression on his face.

The two of them were in Jungkook's car now, driving to God-knows-where. They had been on the road for almost an hour already and Jimin still didn't have the slightest idea where they were going, but it's not like it really mattered anyway. Jimin could be anywhere anytime as long as he gets to be with Jungkook.

But damn, it's his first date with Jeon Jungkook. Never in a billion years did he actually think this could happen.

'I guess fate really fucks us up all the time,' Jimin said to himself.

"We're going somewhere you've always wanted to go to."

"Okay . . . where could that be?"

Jungkook took his right hand away from the steering wheel and held Jimin's left hand with it. He intertwined their fingers and glanced at him, giving him a reassuring smile.

"It's a surprise, baby, and you'll love it."

"Babe, we're here."

"You don't mean . . ."

"Yep. You told me when we were still kids that you've always wanted to go to a picnic for your first date. A picnic on top of this mountain, overviewing the whole city."

"I can't believe you still remember that," Jimin mumbled, getting out of the car as the younger opened the door for him.

He can't deny that it makes him feel kind of uneasy that Jungkook's treating him like a princess when in fact, he's the hyung and he should be the one's who's taking care of him, but he just let him do what would make him happy. He enjoyed seeing that smile on the latter's face. He adored it. Besides, it's not as if he didn't like being Jungkook's princess anyway.

"Of course, I do. You're my best friend," Jungkook smiled cheekily and closed the door shut.

"And now, my lover," Jungkook kissed Jimin's forehead and the latter blushed bright red again, making Jungkook think of naughty things because of how hot Jimin looked. Jungkook thought Jimin an angel every time he blushed.

"It's almost getting dark now. All we have to do is wait for at least an hour 'til it gets really dark then, we'll be able to see the whole city brighten up with lights," Jungkook said as he and Jimin put the picnic stuff down on the grass and got everything ready.

"I love city lights."

"Of course, you do, babe."

Jimin smiled. His boyfriend didn't know the truth as to why he actually loved city lights. Jungkook thought it was only because he thinks they're beautiful but really, that's not the main reason.

"My parents took me to a place like this . . . once when we were on a vacation. I never told you about it, but it was the last time they actually had a good time together. It was the last time I saw my mother so happy. It was the last time my dad ever treated her like his own princess. No . . . his queen. His own queen."

"Jimin . . . You don't have to . . ." Jungkook protested, squeezing the older's hand in his.

"It's okay. I'm all ready to talk a little about it. Besides, you're my boyfriend now and you're supposed to know all this stuff."

"Well, yeah, but . . . you don't really have to force yourself," Jungkook stared at his hyung with eyes full of concern and sincerity.

"I'm not," Jimin reassured him with a genuine smile. "I'm not forcing myself 'cause I'm okay."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

The two went silent for a few minutes after that. Jimin was leaning on Jungkook's shoulder, staring at the beautiful view in front of them. The sun was setting and the leaves of the trees were swaying.

But Jungkook was staring at something else. Something more beautiful. A no-doubt-mesmerizing view beside him.

Park Jimin.

That moment was so simple, yet magical. Neither of the two could even ask for anything else.

If only things last forever.

Jungkook was about to open his mouth to tell Jimin how beautiful he was but the older interrupted him.

"My mother loved cities. All her famous photographs were cities. She also loved traveling and that's basically what she did for a living. Exploring the world and capturing each wonderful moment and experience in a photograph . . . until, she had me."

"Your mother was a loving and inspirational woman."

"Hah, I understand 'loving' but I don't really know about 'inspirational'."

"Your mother didn't want to die, Jimin."

Both of them fell silent as the wind blew harshly towards them. It's as if Jimin's mother was there, with them, watching them.

"She didn't want to leave you. She just wanted to be happy. All she wanted was her family back. She fought for you 'til the very end. She just didn't win."

"I'm not mad at her for what she'd done. I'm just . . . I just feel like I could've done something. I could've saved her."

"No one could, Jimin. No one could."

"I didn't try my best, Jungkook."

"You did. You did everything you could but you just . . . In this world, there's an uncountable amount of things we can never change. What's meant to happen will always happen. I don't want to hurt you but I just needed to remind you this."

Jungkook looked at Jimin's watery eyes and hugged him.

"She loved you. And she still does. She will always be here with you, Jimin. With us. No matter what happens," and with that, Jimin's tears fell down his cheeks as he melted into Jungkook's arms.

"Damn, this isn't how I wanted to make you cry tonight," Jungkook mumbled but Jimin still heard him.

"Wh-What?"

"Never mind!"

"What do you mean?"

"It's just some dirty, shitty joke. Forget about it."

"Jeon Jungkook! Don't tell me you were actually planning to do it on our first date?!"

"I'm sorry," the younger replied, scratching the back of his neck. "Is that a bad thing?"

"Stop acting innocent! You're the complete opposite of that."

Jungkook pouted and Jimin just shook his head and sighed.

Another few minutes of silence came after that and Jungkook was the one who broke the ice this time.

"She's always watching over you."

"I know."

"Jimin, look at me," Jungkook said as he lifted the latter's chin, that was resting on Jungkook's chest, up.

"I love you."

"I love you, too, Jungkook."
