Facts #2: The Music of UTurn
^^^My only attempt to make an album cover of UTurn's official debut single from a few years ago. It would take time and massive amounts of photoshopping to make them all look like a coherent pop group. Also I wrote this entire "chapter" on the Wattpad app. My laptop was acting like a bitch.
FACTS
So here's the second part to my three-part uploads of this fact book. This week's facts is about UTurn's music.
So the basis of UTurn's music is inspired and influenced by two European pop groups of the early 2000s: The A*Teens and S Club 8. In all of the incarnations of UTurn, this was their sound.
When I started working on The One Series in 2011, that was their sound for their first album, but after that it varied. I changed their sound several different times. From pop-rock to urban pop to even EDM pop, their music had evolved as I tried to figure out their signature style. The only style i truly kept was EDM pop, but that's for 2010s portion of The One Series. That was inspired by Britney Spears, Kesha, and Rihanna. But their earlier music from the late 2000s portion of the series was one that kept changing.
Last year when I started making plans to revise the entire series, I also altered UTurn's music style. The bases of their music style was still the same, and they would still do EDM pop much later in the series, but everything in between has changed.
I was inspired by British pop group Steps' latest album, Tears On The Dancefloor. If you have Spotify, check it out. The album, and their entire catalog, was what inspired the change in UTurn's music for the 2000s portion of The One Series. The best examples I can give of UTurn's music would be on 8Tracks. I made these "albums" of UTurn on there. They represent what their sound is like.
First here is the screenshot of Steps' Tears On The Dancefloor:
(Why, yes I do listen to 5 Seconds of Summer!^^)
Now my user name on 8Tracks is ImTheGirl89. Here's UTurn's debut album:
This album is more like their based sound of A-Teens and S Club 8. Now this is where it gets very spoilerly if you haven't or have read the entire series in its current rough draft form. So read the rest at your own risk

In the revised version of this series, UTurn will release their music in Britain, and the rest of Europe and Asia. What I have planned for this newer version of the series is that UTurn gets slightly reinvented into, well, the best way to describe them is this: Steps with a glammed up emo look with mostly upbeat yet crudely written lyrics. They're songwriters, so their material isn't perfectly written, but good enough to be catchy. They also have a slight prep-school look when they start promoting their stuff in Europe. Makes since since they all (except one) go to the same private school together. (Note: Assume whatever the hell you want about me, but their slightly altered image, and their music too, was also inspired by Russian pop duo t.A.T.u. Just think Steps meets t.A.T.u without the gimmicks.)
Here is their British release of their debut album:
There is a section on my profile on 8Tracks titled "UTurn Albums." If you want, you can check out the music. I am currently making changes to those albums, so focus mainly on those albums I've mentioned and the British version of thir second album "Turn It Up."
I think that's all I have to say concerning UTurn's sound. Coming up next in the third and final part of this upload, a tiny excerpt of "Popstars:2004." My laptop better be working by then.>>>
