That was the original blurb for the entire series. Is it still relevant to the version of The One Series? For the most part, but there are no lineup changes. Well, there was no instances of people being replaced by new people. 

Anyway, this blurb was made when Wattpad had a forum. One of the sections was "Share Your Story." People would post ads and stuff like crazy. Banners, graphics, covers, trailers, you name it! I was one of those who went crazy to get people to read my series. Then Wattpad took it down, splitting into different genres. You'd have to be really lucky to be one of the first ones to post up their ad. I would even lose sleep just to achieve this, but I had to stop. I would have work the next day. Turns out social media marketing and joining book clubs were the best way to go.

As you can tell in the graphic above, UTurn had a slightly different lineup and faceclaims. It made sense, at the time, as the people in those photos were in the early 20s. Most of them were teenagers when those photos were taken, so it fit the characters' ages as the series progressed. Now they're all in their 30s, so it wouldn't make sense to use them. Instead, I'm using a much younger set of faceclaims. Of course, for the official Amazon version of my series, I'm using free creative commons photos to be my characters on the book covers.

The Original Profiles:

So, I used to make profiles for my characters before I would begin a story. Whether it was on a fan forum or on here, that's what I would do. I do see some authors do that here. When I began to work on The One Series, I decided against posting the profiles. I did write them, but I never uploaded them. The closest thing I've done was make character cards.

After almost 10 years, here are the profiles! Keep in mind that the series has completely changed since I made this. Also, the lineup has changed, and certain characters aren't in this profile post. There's also a character who might seem similar to current one. I'll explain that in a bit, along with the other characters. Oh, and you're also getting the character cards for both the original and the updated faceclaims!

Name: Alyson Bauer

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Boston, Mass., USA

Alyson is the popular girl at a high school. She can be a bitch, but she actually has a heart. Alyson is a cheerleader that's professionally trained in dancing. She can sing and act, but keeps it a secret. (UPDATE: Alyson always made it known that she can sing and dance. Initially, she wasn't the best, but she was good at what she did. Obviously, being in a pop band has helped her tremendously. Also, she's hella extra. Why would she hide her talents?)

Name: Andrew Hawthorne

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Hartford, Con., USA

Andrew is the popular guy at the same high school as Alyson. Andrew is also the school's bully. He's a basketball player who hates all the other sports teams at the school. Andrew can dance, sing, and act, but is scared to reveal his talents. (UPDATE: Andrew doesn't care who plays whatever sport there is. He was scared of revealing his talents, and he was also scared of being outed as a bisexual. He obviously does get over his fears. It just takes a while to adjust.)

Name: Bailey Richards (now Richardson)

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Boston, Mass., USA

Bailey is Alyson's best friend. Bailey is nice, and down-to-earth. Bailey is a cheerleader, and is not afraid to show her performing arts talents. (UPDATE: Bailey isn't that much different now. She's still your Wattpad good girl.)

Name: Justin Harrison

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Oxford, UK

Justin is also a popular guy. Justin moved to America when he was 10. He's as American as he can be, but very much British. He's a football player, but the American football. Justin is nice and down-to-earth. He can sing, but he's secretive about that. Justin is Alyson's boyfriend. (UPDATE: Justin ended up being a lacrosse player instead. He's more on the moody and brooding side. He was never secretive of his talents. He just never showed them off. Besides, he would always brag that he would've audition for the British pop act, Connect8, if his parents had let him go back to England!)

Name: Stacie Morales

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Boston, Mass., USA

Stacie is wants to fit in with the popular kids, and she does, but it comes with a price. Stacie is nice, and can sing. (UPDATE: Stacie was actually part of the popular kids. She was in Alyson's clique, eventually ended up in Libby's girl group. She can be nice, but she's not someone to be stepped on.) 

Name: Amanda Hale (now Hillel)

Starting Age: 15 (now 16)

Born In: Pittsburgh, Penn, USA

Amanda is a rebel. She declares herself as 'anti-conformist', and yet she's dating Andrew (the popular guy). Amanda wants to be popular, but doesn't want to 'conform'. She's open with her singing abilities. (UPDATE: Amanda was already popular, just not Alyson's brand of popular, due to both being in a rock band and dating Andrew. She's not exactly a rebel. If anything, she's just a girl who deserves the best while wearing heavy eyeliner.)

Name: Ethan Jackson

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Boston, Mass., USA

Ethan is Jusin's best friend. Ethan is both the football team and basketball. He's the mediator for Andrew and Justin, even though he doesn't want to have anything to do with Andrew. Ethan is nice. He doesn't know if he has talents. Ethan is Bailey's boyfriend. (UPDATE: Justin was never Ethan's friend. Ethan was a lazy ass, so he never did sports of any kind. He's not nice. If anything, he was a villain who'll eventually redeem himself. And yes, he "hated" Andrew.)



Name: Trevor Dixon

Starting Age: 15

Born In: Boston, Mass., USA

Trevor is an outcast, and an emo. He's a target for Andrew, but Justin and Ethan try to be friends with Trevor. Trevor is part of the performing arts clubs in the school. (UPDATE: Trevor now attends the Paul Revere Preparatory Boarding School within the Greater Boston area, which was somewhat canon in the original drafts. That means he has nothing to do with Andrew, Justin, and Ethan. He's not an emo. Instead, he's a preppy rich boy. He does end up in another band, the eXtras. There was supposed to be a spin-off series to The One Series. Trust me, I'm trying to make that happen. In the meantime, I'm doing my best to get him to be in the main series. He did make a cameo in Addictive Lies.)

Regarding Trevor:  I'm aware he was originally a type of Derrick, but Trevor derived from another character before The One Series, both Popstars and Press Pause. If I remember correctly, he was nothing like Derrick, but he wasn't a preppy rich boy either. Derrick, on the other hand, derived from another character from Popstars. Apparently, he was a girl who was a part of proto-Alyson's minions? Even that character wasn't an emo either. The only pre-One Series character I had that was an emo was Ethan, and that was for Press Pause.

Name: Riley Brown

Starting Age: 18

From Worcester, MA.

Riley was a high school senior. She was part of the school's newspaper. She's the only UTurn member to be taking college courses. She's nice and a voice of reason.



Name: Derrick Armstrong

Starting Age: 16

From: East Boston, MA.

Derrick was in a rock band, The Pushers, since he was eight. He's an outspoken activist for justice. He'll use his MySpace account to speak out against both the government and society. He's against capitalism. You know he'll absolutely hate trump. He takes no crap from anyone.



Name: Libby Middleton

Starting Age: 15

From: Boston, Ma.

Libby is Alyson's rival. She's problematic as she does exhibit homophobia, biphobia, and some racism. She's obsessed with taking both Alyson and Andrew down. She's your true Mexican telenovela villain.
