On The Run
Tumblr prompt: Listen, I am genetically modified and on the run and you WILL let me hide in your house
Pairing: H2OVanoss
Evan was just having a leisurely day at home when someone started knocking on the door. He sighed, paused the tv show that he was watching and went to the door to answer it.
When he did, he wasn't expecting the person at the door to barge in, slam the door shut behind him, lock it, and then proceed to run around the house, locking all of the windows and the back doors as well.
Evan stared at the madman as he walked back into the kitchen, panting. He slowly went into his room and grabbed his hockey stick before walking back out into the kitchen.
The man had grabbed an apple and had just taken a bite out of it when Evan stopped him. "What the hell are you doing in my house?" He asked. The man stopped, finished his bite, put the apple down and looked at him. "Look, I don't know who you are, or what you want, but you sure as hell are gonna get out of my house," Evan growled, taking a step closer.
The man blinked before an amused look appeared onto his face. He grabbed one end of the hockey stick in Evan's hands and started to pull. Evan fought back, the two in an intense tug-a-war before the man tugged it completely out if Evan's hands.
Evan's eyes widened as the man threatened to snap it into two. "Don't you dare," Evan warned. The man chuckled before tossing it back to Evan, making Evan stumble back a bit. The man started walking forward, and Evan grip became tighter. The man laughed, making Evan freeze.
It sounded so... delirious.
The man continued walking forward until he was right in front of Evan. He leaned closer to Evan, whispering in his ear. "Listen, I know you don't want me here, I don't want to be here either. But I'm being chased by this crazy scientist who wants to hurt me. He's already done enough damage to me. So I need you to let me stay here, and I promise, next chance I get, I will leave immediately, okay?" He leaned back to see Evan's answer.
Evan just slowly nodded, shocked at what the man said. "Good. Now let me explain: My name's Jonathan Dennis. I live- well, lived- in North Carolina. Some crazy scientist guy kidnapped me and took me to his lab. He experimented on me, and eventually I escaped, of course. And I found this place and decided hell with it, I'll hide here," Jonathan explained. Evan blinked.
"North Carolina? How the hell did you end up in Canada?" Jonathan's calm face turned into a confused one.
"Canada? I'm in Canada?" He asked. Evan nodded. Jonathan looked around.
"Huh. How did I end up here?" He asked himself.
"I don't know, but, uh, since your gonna be staying for a while, might as well get comfy, I guess. I'm Evan, by the way." Jonathan nodded and started walking into another room until Evan stopped him. "Hey, uh, quick question, and you don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable, but, um... What exactly where those doctors testing on?" He asked. Jonathan bit his lip and sighed.
"Well..." Evan stopped him again before he could answer.
"Hey, like I said, if it makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to say anything," he repeated. Jonathan shook his head.
"No, no, better do this now so you won't get confused later." Jonathan shut his eyes tight, seemingly concentrating on something.
A bright light started to appear beside Jonathan, and Evan stared at the other Jonathan that started to form in front of him with wide eyes. The second Jonathan looked at Evan, smiled, and waved. Evan slightly waved back before it disappeared, and the real Jonathan collapsed onto the ground, gasping and coughing.
Evan rushed to Jonathan's side, picking him up. "C'mon, you need to rest. And I told you that you didn't have to do it," Evan mumbled. Jonathan just groaned in his arms. Evan placed him on the couch before he went back out to grab a pillow and a blanket.
He lifted Jonathan's head slightly for the pillow and put the blanket on him. "There, that should do it. Do you need an ice pack?" He asked. Evan could barely see Jonathan's head move up and down as a yes.
Evan got a washcloth and an ice pack, putting it on Jonathan's forehead. "There you go. If you need anything else, just call, okay?" Evan said. Jonathan just made a noise in response. Evan sighed and went into the other room to let Jonathan rest.

For about a month, Jonathan stayed in the confinements of Evan's home. They made it on much better terms, and eventually, became friends. There was still the fear that the scientist would come back, but for now, everything was okay.
They were sitting on the couch, watching tv when there was a knock on the door. Evan got up and opened it to reveal a man in a white coat. "Excuse me sir, but have you seen anyone pass by that seems... A bit weird?" He asked. Evan's eyes widened a bit as he glanced back.
"W-what do you mean by weird?" He asked nervously.
"Someone who seems to be in two places at once, perhaps? Or maybe two of the same person in the same place?"
"Hey Evan where's-" Jonathan stopped in his tracks, eyes widening. The man grinned and pushed Evan aside. Jonathan bolted to another room, trying to get away. Evan tried to grab the man, but he just shoved Evan again, making Evan hit the table with a groan.
The man bolted after Jonathan, cackling. "Come on now, we haven't finished our little experiment yet," he cooed. Jonathan was in Evan's bedroom, trying to defend himself with Evan's hockey stick.
Jonathan managed to make two duplicates of himself, which confused the man for a second before they faltered, leaving Jonathan on the floor in a heap. The man grinned evilly and was about to pick Jonathan up when-
Click.
The man froze, and slowly turned around. There stood Evan, holding a gun in his hand that he only took out on emergencies. And this sure as hell was one. "I suggest you leave. Now," he commanded. The man laughed, and pulled out a gun himself.
"Two can play at that game," he smirked. It was Evan's turn to smirk.
"Oh yeah? Think again, bitch."
A white, blinding light flashed and then suddenly, the whole room was filled with duplicates of Evan. The man's smiled dropped into a look of shock and pure terror. Jonathan had lifted his head up just in time to see, and gasped at the sight.
The man dropped the gun and slowly started to walk backwards. "Now, let's be rational about this," he awkwardly laughed. Every Evan smirked in unison, and all but one started walking towards him. They held the man down and dragged him off to god knows where. The real Evan sighed and helped Jonathan up.
"You- you are-"
"Yeah, I am. I didn't want to say anything to freak you out. It's been years since I've done that. God, I hate him," Evan admitted.
"Years? How long were you there?" Jonathan asked.
"Ever since I was a kid. Never wanted to use it until an emergency came up. And this sure as hell was an emergency." He laughed a bit before dragging Jonathan to the other room to get fixed up.
"Th-thank you," Jonathan mumbled. Evan smiled softly at him.
"Anything for a friend." Jonathan smiled back.
They stuck together for the rest of their lives, never letting an eye off the other.
