All Because Of You
Note: This is an original one-shot, and it's kinda angsty. I hope you enjoy it though!
Pairing: Daithi de Wildcat
From afar, you wouldn't believe that Tyler and Daithi were actually friends. Mainly because Tyler yelled at Daithi most of the time whenever Daithi did something stupid. But believe it or not, they were actually kind of close.
Daithi was one of the only ones that could make Tyler laugh so hard that he would start wheezing (usually caused by the fact that sometimes Nogla went back to his mother language of gibberish). He was also the one that always laughed through an apology whenever he fucked something up and got Tyler mad. Tyler was silently fearful for that.
Normally when someone pissed him off they'd sound all sorry, and it would make Tyler feel bad for yelling at them. But not Daithi. No, Daithi would laugh through his apology, enjoying Tyler's rage very much. Tyler didn't know why, but it made him feel better about himself.
Currently Daithi was trying to say something, but kept fucking up his words. Tyler was in another wheezing fit. Daithi managed to say it eventually, but Tyler didn't hear it because he was wheezing so much. Daithi frowned and pat his back. "Jesus Tyler, calm down will ya? I'm tryin' to talk here," he grumbled.
Tyler eventually did calm down, and he sighed as he wiped the tears that formed in his eyes from laughing so hard. "Shit dude, that was fucking hilarious. What were you saying?"
"I said, I got a special project going on, and I was telling you not to go through my stuff till its finished, alright?"
Tyler snorted, "What kind of gay ass project is it?"
Daithi frowned even more. "It's not gay, it's fun."
"Then why can't you tell me what it is?"
"Because it's a special secret, Tyler. I can't tell you."
"Then it's gay."
"It's not fuckin' gay Tyler!" Daithi was beginning to raise his voice, obviously getting irritated with Tyler's obnoxious attitude. Tyler knew exactly what he was doing, and didn't care. He thought it was funny when Daithi got pissed, and he wasn't going to stop now.
"Ate you sure? Because I think it's pretty gay."
"You don't even know what it is!"
"Exactly. That's why it's gay."
"That doesn't make any sense!"
"No, it makes perfect sense. You just can't understand with that small Irish brain of yours."
"My brain isn't small, you cunt."
"Yeah, whatever."
Daithi sighed and decided to give up. The "special project" was supposed to be for Tyler, but if Tyler was gonna be a bitch about it, then he wasn't going to get it. Serves him right for being a dick about it.
Tyler was in mid-sentence when Daithi stomped off. Tyler blinked in surprise at the spot where Nogla just was. Jeez, I wonder why he's all upset, Tyler wondered, but didn't pay much attention to it. If he was gonna get pissy about it, let him get pissy about it.

Tyler didn't see Daithi for the rest of the day, and he was beginning to feel bad about it. He could have at least taken what Daithi said into consideration, instead of immediately calling it gay and practically pointless. He'd never seen Daithi get so upset over something, so it must have been really important.
He would apologize, but the Irishman was nowhere to be found. Tyler didn't know where he lived, so it's not like he could show up there and say sorry.
He sighed and hoped that Daithi would show up the next day so he could maybe say something to him. Or maybe Daithi would have forgiven him at that point, and that would be a load off of his shoulders if that were the case.
Sure, he'd probably make fun of himself for seeming like such a sap and Daithi wouldn't stop teasing him about it for ages, but it was better than being ignored for the rest of your life because you said something stupid once and without realizing it, fucked the other person over completely.

He did see Daithi after that, which was a relief. But Daithi suddenly seemed extremely busy, and wasn't really able to do anything with Tyler.
Tyler was beginning to feel lonely. Daithi was one of the few people who could take his bullshit, and the only person he ever really hung out with, and now it seemed like not even he was going to do that.

Days went by, uneventful, and now more depressing. Tyler was praying every night that Daithi would come back one day like everything was normal, and everything would go back to the way it was. Tyler's heart felt heavy whenever he would see him walking at school. He never talked to anyone, he just walked (which Tyler was a little happy for, because if Daithi had left him for some sorry-ass group, he'd have to kick his ass. He didn't really want to have to do that).
He wanted to reach out to Daithi, to pull him aside one day and ask what the fuck was going on. But he didn't. He didn't know why. It was like he was scared to say something, like one wrong thing and Daithi would be gone. He refused to believe that he was scared, but deep down, that is exactly what was going on.
It seemed as though because Daithi wasn't there, everything else was getting affected by it. He was always tired whenever he played football, to the point where his coach actually pulled him aside and asked if he was okay. Tyler told him the truth and said no. His coach asked what was wrong, and Tyler shrugged. "Well, I need you to get your stuff together before you play another game. Get some rest, bud."
So basically, he was temporarily out of the game. Fun.
His grades weren't doing so well either. He wasn't getting enough sleep at night and during class he was so out of it, that even if the teacher hit his desk with a ruler he wouldn't flinch or snap out of it. He'd snap out of it at his own accord, usually a little before class ended. The teachers asked as well, but Tyler didn't answer. He would just shrug and go on to his next class. They stopped asking eventually.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This particular day was just complete shit. He had gotten yet another F on a test, and he was failing multiple classes. All his teachers pulled him aside, saying that he needed to get his act together or he would be done for. Tyler just nodded.
When the end of the day came around, he nodded once more to his teacher and left. When he left the classroom, his eyes suddenly began to water. He wiped them furiously, but the water kept coming back. Then he realized: he was crying. He rushed to the bathroom, making sure that no one saw him.
No one was in the bathroom when Tyler entered (thank god; he was not wanting to deal with someone spreading the news around school that Tyler Wine was a crybaby little bitch). He went into the one big stall and slammed it shut, locking it. He threw his book bag against the wall out of anger, a sob leaving his mouth slightly.
He stopped trying to stop the tears and just fell against the wall, sliding down.
He didn't know what had caused it; had he reached his breaking point? Probably. Did he know what triggered it? Not at all.
God, he just wanted to curl up into a ball and die.
He heard someone enter the bathroom, and he tried holding back his sobs. He let half of one out before he covered his mouth. The person stopped, and walked towards his stall.
Shit, he was so fucked.
"Tyler?"
The voice who called his name was one Tyler was surprised to hear, and one that Tyler didn't want to hear.
"Fuck off," Tyler croaked, his voice cracking as he sobbed again.
"Tyler, please."
"I said, go away!" Tyler screamed, throwing his bag against the door. He sobbed even harder and flinched at the thud the bag made an it hit the door and then the ground and rattle of the door after the impact of the bag.
The door had unlocked because of the bag, and it opened slowly. "Tyler...?"
Tyler actually did curl himself up this time, putting his face into his knees to avoid eye contact. He didn't hear anything except for footsteps, which stopped in front of him. A pair of hands pushed Tyler's head up, blue eyes meeting brown. Tyler let out a sob, quickly biting his lip afterwards to keep quiet.
Daithi wiped the tears from Tyler's face. "Shh, calm down Tyler, I'm here." Tyler uncurled himself up, sniffing and wiping his eyes harshly. Daithi grabbed his hands to stop him from doing that, as Tyler's face was getting even more red.
"Tell me what's wrong, Tyler. Come on."
Tyler looked off to the side, glaring at nothing in particular. "Stressed," he mumbled.
"Stressed? About what? What are you stressed about?"
It was almost funny, seeing how Daithi was acting like a concerned mother. Little did he know that he was the cause of all of it (Tyler had finally come to terms with that in his minute of angry sobbing).
"Well, I'm failing half of my classes and I'm temporarily out of sports and I have a huge crush on the guy right in front of me and I lose my appetite at the worst times and I can't sleep at night." He took a deep breath after he said everything and let it out slowly. His breathing quivered slightly.
Daithi blinked and opened his mouth to try and give some advice but them he stopped. He replayed what Tyler had said, more specifically the part in the middle.
"...and I have a huge crush on the guy in front of me..."
He blinked out of his thoughts and noticed that Tyler's face was pink.
"... Tyler?"
"Go away," he mumbled.
"Tyler-"
"I said, GO AWAY." he screamed. The tears had come back again and we're streaming down his face. Daithi jumped at the yell, but stayed put.
"Tyler, calm down for fuck's sake, will ya? I'm tryin' ta help you here, so stop crying for once so I can say that I love ya too, you idiot." There was a sudden edge to Daithi's voice, one that Tyler heard many times before. In this moment, it scared him at first, but then it just surprised him.
"W-what?" Daithi sighed and cupped Tyler's face with his hands before kissing him.
Everything froze. Tyler couldn't believe what was happening. His eyes were shut tight as his lips moved against Daithi's. Fuck, they felt nice against his.
Daithi pulled back, and Tyler instantly missed kissing him. "You okay now?" he asked. Tyler nodded. "Okay, good. I'm glad."
There was an awkward silence between them. Tyler then thought of something, and frowned. "Why did you fucking ignore me for two damn months? That's the reason I got into this mess, you know," he said, his voice starting to quiver again.
"I told ya I was workin' on something. That somethin' was for you. I didn't want to waste any time, because I wanted it done as soon as possible." He dropped his head. "I didn't know it would cause you so much trouble. I'm sorry Tyler, I really am."
"... What were you working on that was so important?"
That was the first time Tyler had ever seen Daithi blush, and if he was being honest, he looked cute like that.
"... It was a song. I was workin' on a song."
"Oh."
There was yet another set of awkward silence.
"... Can I hear it?"
Daithi's blush grew slightly. "I, uh, I would but-but, y'know, I don't have my guitar and it's not finished and-"
"Daithi. I don't care."
The bell rang, causing both of them to jump. "Oh, fuckin' hell," Daithi swore (although he was slightly glad that he didn't have to sing in this god awful school bathroom), looking up at the ceiling.
He looked back down at Tyler, who was looking up at him in a way he had never seen before (he guessed it was a look of love. It gave him butterflies in his stomach, and for one second he hoped that Tyler would always look at him like that).
"We should uh, probably go," Daithi said awkwardly, breaking the moment.
Tyler finally remembered where he was at and blushed red from embarrassment. "Oh, uh, yeah, we probably should," he agreed. Daithi got up and leaned out a hand. Tyler wiped his eyes one more time before taking it and pulling himself up. Daithi grabbed his bag and handed it to Tyler, who gladly took it.
On their way out, Tyler tugged on Daithi's backpack. "Daithi?"
When Daithi turned around, Tyler kissed him. Daithi blushed madly, not expecting it at all. Tyler pulled back nonchalantly (Daithi could hardly believe that minutes before Tyler was crying his eyes out). "Do you wanna like, come over today?" Tyler asked.
Daithi blinked. "Oh, ah, sure."
Tyler grinned and grabbed Daithi's hand, pulling him along. "You're going to have to sing that song, by the way."
"Oh hell nah, fuck you Tyler!"
"Bitch, you wish."
"Fuck off!"
Tyler laughed and pulled Daithi into one last kiss before they got into Tyler's car.
"Enjoy the ride, babe," Tyler said, winking as he drove out of the school.
