It's My Party

Note: Based off of the song It's My Party by Leslie Gore.  Also, this is kinda dedicated to my friend ohmwrecker-pecker. I hope you enjoy this angsty one-shot!

Pairing: H2OMooMcQuaid

Jonathan, Bryce, and Brock were the dream couple at school. Jonathan treated his two boyfriends with as much love as he possibly could, and Bryce and Brock did the same (or well, as much as they could. Jonathan always managed to one-up them somehow).

The day that Bryce and Brock loved the most was June the 5th. The reason being because that was both of their birthdays. Jonathan always had something special for them on that day, so when it came around, they both thought of what Jon could be getting them.

"Do you think he's gonna get us dinner again?" Brock asked as he linked his pinkie with Bryce's as they walked. They never fully held hands unless Jonathan was there with them.

"I don't think so. He already did it once, and he always does something different," Bryce said, swinging their arms slightly.

"Well, what if he just takes us to a different restaurant? Ooh, what if it's that new one downtown?"

Bryce shrugged, "I mean, maybe. I just don't think he's gonna do something so similar. He might take us to that new waterpark that keeps showing up on TV."

"Ooh, that would be fun! If we're going there, I swear I'm gonna die with happiness." Bryce laughed and kissed his boyfriend's cheek as he rolled his eyes.

"You're so over dramatic, you know that?" Brock just grinned at him. They turned the corner, opening the door in the hallway. They were too busy looking at each other to notice the two kids making out in the middle of the hallway. But when they finally looked, they both stopped in their tracks. Both of their eyes widened, and their grip on each other tightened.

"Jonny?"

Their boyfriend pulled back from the boy he was currently making out with and looked in their direction. The other boy, which just so happened to be their good friend Craig, looked over at them as well, the smile never leaving his face. Jonathan didn't open his mouth to try and explain what was going on, or to try and apologize. He seemed to look through them. Craig giggled a little and pulled Jonathan back, connecting their lips together.

Bryce was already shaking, but that crossed the line. He ripped his hand from Brock's and ran in the opposite direction, tears streaming down his face. "Bryce, wait!" Brock ran after him, pushing the door open as he followed his sobbing boyfriend. Brock almost lost Bryce when he turned the corner, but he caught the door closing just in time.

When he opened it and ran into the hallway, he saw the purple of Bryce's jacket go into the boy's bathroom. Brock ran in there, closing the door and locking it after he was inside. Bryce was sitting against the wall, crying into his hands. Brock rushed over to him, pulling him into a hug. "Shh, Bryce, please calm down," he cooed.

Bryce looked up at his boyfriend with red eyes. "Why aren't you upset about it?" he croaked. It was an honest question, which just so happened to be the first thing to pop into his head. "You do realize he cheated on you too, right?"

"I..." Brock thought about it, and thought about it and thought about it. The more he did, the more tears began running down his face until he was crying as much as Bryce. They both cried into each other's arms. As they did, they linked their fingers together, holding each other's hand tightly.

"Well, we're here," Brock said as he pulled up to the school. Bryce smiled slightly as he looked up at the large buildings.

"God, it seems like it's been forever since we've been here," he remarked. The two were here for a high school reunion.

"It does seem like that, doesn't it?" Brock got out of the car and opened Bryce's door for him.

"What a gentleman," Bryce teased. Brock rolled his eyes and grabbed Bryce's hand, pulling him into the school.

Nostalgia hit them as soon as they walked into the gym, where the reunion was being held. "It still smells bad in here," Bryce mumbled as he made a face. Brock chuckled and squeezed his hand.

"We'll make it through, don't worry."

While they were there, they caught up with some old friends, had a few drinks, whatever. It was fun. Well, until one specific person found them.

"Hey, Bryce! Brock!" The two froze in their places. They glanced at each other uneasily. They knew that voice all to well.

Jonathan pushed through the crowd to get to them, giving the two a good look at him. Their breath got caught in their throats when they laid eyes on him. Jonathan didn't seem to notice and grinned at them, giving them a hug. "My god, it's been too long," he laughed. They smiled at him to be polite, but they were confused. Why was he acting like this?

"It's uh, it's good to see you too, Jonathan," Brock said, taking a sip of his drink. Bryce stayed silent and looked away.

Jonathan stayed close to them, talking away. He cracked a couple of jokes that made even Bryce smile a little.

By the end of the night, they had practically fallen in love with him again. Bryce and Brock even linked their pinkies together, forgetting that it was only them two.

The two were laughing at something Jonathan had said when someone else walked over. Their laughing abruptly ended when Jonathan wrapped around the person, which just so happened to be Craig. "Bryce, Brock, it's so good to see you two!" he exclaimed, giving them both hugs. They both smiled at him, their unease slowly coming back.

"Uh, hey, Craig. How've you been?" Brock asked. Bryce became silent again, not looking at the other couple.

"Oh, I'm wonderful! Jon, did you tell them the news?"

Jon shook his head, "No, but you can tell them."

"Tell us what?" Bryce asked. He didn't like the sound of this at all. He didn't even want to ask, but his mouth spoke before he could stop it.

"We're getting married!"

That one sentence. That's all it took for Brock and Bryce's reality to crash down on them. They weren't getting their Jonny back. Not now, not ever. It had happened again somehow, even when they had promised each other it was never going to happen again.

Bryce felt like crying again. He felt like repeating that damned day; him running away from everything, never wanting to come back. But instead he took a deep breath and smiled. "That's wonderful," he managed to say. Brock was the only one who caught the pain and sadness in his eyes.

"It's getting pretty late," Brock quickly said. He linked the rest of his finger with Bryce's, squeezing his hand hard. "I think me and Bryce are going to head out." Craig and Jonathan frowned for a second before coming back with a smile.

"Aww, okay. Have a nice night you two!" Craig said.

Jonathan nodded, "Yeah. And you should visit us one of these days!"

Bryce nearly wanted to punch him for saying that, but Brock squeezed his hand again. "We'll try." He pulled Bryce away before he could say or do anything else.

They quickly got into their car and began driving home. Neither of them spoke, but they didn't need to. They already knew how the other felt.

When they got home they immediately got ready for bed, curling up next to each other and trying not to cry.
