I'll be looking for you
A lot of feels, and a lot of words

Paris, 1919
It was a cold night, the air was crips, snow on the ground. Winter was right around the corner, with the beginning of winter, that also means the beginning of many death and illnesses to come. I've just come out to look over the city in the rooftop of my home, I loved noting more but to see the lights shine in the darkness. I put on my best clothes in the hopes it will keep me warm and, so far its doing a bad job, the heat in my body is turning to ice. I need something to keel me warm. At that moment I felt the arms of my lover hold me close. "You shouldn't be up here in clothes like these."
I hum a laugh to his response, and press closer to his body. We stand there in the silents and hear the breeze hit against our ears. "Mavis, what are you doing up here?" I didn't know what to say to him, I couldn't tell him the real reason, it would be to hard for him. "I just wanted to see the snow is all, pure and clean." He rest his face in the crook of my neck, I can feel his hot breath against my skin. "Zeref, why does death happen? Why do we have to leave?"He moves his head away the his body all together, I turn half way to see a confused face.
"Why are you asking me this?"
"I...just want to know what you think is all.."
"I'm not sure, but you talking like this makes me scared. Is something the matter with you? Are you sick?"
I held back the lump in my throat and walked over to him. I kissed him lightly on the lips, while I accidentally got his face wet from my tears. "I love you, I'm not going anywhere, but I need to go inside, you need to get home too."
I brush past him, still having a heavy flow of tears cover my face. "Mavis...I love you too."
I look at him one more time and put on my best smile, "I'll see you again."
Zeref's POV:
Why was she talking like that last night, she must be hiding something. I'll ask her today. I walk down the same street, turn down the same corner and see the building she lives in. Everyday I see a few kids play outside and the old ladies hanging their clothes on the clothes line, but today was a much different scene. People gathered around the front door and parted when two people come down the steps with someone in their arms. We couldn't see who it was, but we only knew one thing, death claimed someone. As I got closer, I saw people crying and even someone people saying things like 'she was to young' and 'Does her lover know?' I slowed down a bit when I realized who was in the bag, from what was said last night to know, it all made sense.
"Zeref, she was sick for sometime but she didn't know how to tell you. She gave me this letter to give to you when the time comes. We're so sorry. We saw how much you loved each other."
The old lady hand me the letter, I take it with such sadness. I saw her handwriting on the from and the wax seal on the back. As I open it, my hands became cold and shaky. I pulled out the paper and reed about how sorry she felt for leaving me and not for filling our promises. She told me over and over how much she loves me and even in death she'll only love me. She signs her name with my last name, but at the very bottom she writes 'see you later, I'll be looking for you.'
LA, 1959
"I'll be back don't worry, its only half a year."
"You don't understand, this is war, guns, death. What if you get hurt or worse."
"Nothing is going to happen to me, I'll be back before you know it."
The conductor yells that the train is getting ready to leave, he kisses my forehead the the ring he gave me last night. "When I come back, well start our lives together."We share out last smile tougher for awhile then he boards the train. I, along with all the other women wave goodbye to our beloved soldiers. I wave goodbye to him and blow him kiss after kiss to him. "See you soon."
A few months later, Zeref and I still write our letters to each other, he tells me how much he loves and how he wants nothing more than to be with me right now, but at the end of his letters he write, 'I'll see you soon.' That was the last time I got a letter from him, its been a few weeks and I still haven't heard anything from him, they say once you don't hear from them after a week its time to start panicking. Just last week the women across from me got the dreaded walk from the man that brings the bad news. She crumpled to the ground when she reed her husband died, she held her stomach that held the only child she'll ever have from him. I felt so sorry for her, and how I hope that doesn't happen to me.
It looks like, I couldn't avoid that same walk, I was sitting on the porch listing to the rain when I saw him, coming up my walkway with the tan envelope in his hand. The closer he got, the more my heart broke, it broke with each step then broke in half when he gave me the letter. He tipped his hat, said he was sorry for my lost than walked way. I couldn't bring myself to open the letter, if I open it then it would really mean he was gone for good. I slowly opened the letter to see what was said. It said that he was gravely injured and there was nothing they could do, his last words were 'see you later hunny, I'll be looking for you.'
Present Day
They look so sad, and yet look so happy at the same time. I watched my parents sleep in bed together. Mother is getting weaker from her illness and father refuses to leave her side. "August, you don't need to be here, I'll call you if anything happens." I was hesitant when he said this, but I knew he wanted to be alone with her, one last time that is. "I'll be back in the morning. I love you guys."Father smiles then looks over at mother, who's still sleeping away.

"Is he gone?"
"Yeah. I told him to leave. I wanted to be alone with you."
I see her smile, but it doesn't reach her eyes. She moves close to me so she can look into my eyes. I turn on my side so now we face each other better. "Tell me something, after I died will you move on?"
"No, I could never do that I'm to old."
She touches my face with her frail hands and wipes some tears away from my face. "I feel so guilty, I don't want to leave you." Her own tears start to form and I can't bare to see that. I take her hand into my own and kiss forehead. "Don't feel guilty, I'll be along soon enough. You won't be alone."
"Will you hold me tonight?"
"Of course I will."
She rest her head on my chest and I hug her tightly, We both start to drift off to sleep, but the last thing I hear from her is something I sworn I've heard before. "See you later, I'll be looking for you."

So sad T-T, I don't know why I like writing stories like this, but its something I've been thinking about for awhile. I guess my inspiration came from the movie the notebook, which breaks my heart when I see it but its a beautiful love story. I recommend seeing it if you're older than 16 and can handle the feels. Anyway, hopes you liked it :)
