A celebration of love and life

❤️week 25-28 (7th month)

The morning sun streamed softly through the windows, casting a warm glow across the Jeon household. The scent of fresh jasmine and sandalwood filled the air, blending beautifully with the rich aroma of sweets and ghee.

Today was a day of joy, tradition, and celebration! Kook’s Valakaapu, the sacred baby shower ceremony that blessed the mother-to-be and the precious life growing inside him.

Inside the bedroom, Jungkook sat quietly on a cushioned chair, his hands nervously resting on his slightly swollen belly.

His heart raced with a mixture of excitement and shyness. This was his day-a day to be celebrated, cherished, and showered with love.

Two pairs of hands fluttered around him lovingly,Hoseok and Jimin fussing over him like mother hens.

"Yah, Kookie, stop fidgeting!" Jimin scolded gently, pushing a stray lock of hair behind Kook’s ear.

Hoseok chuckled as he adjusted the heavy gold necklace around Kook’s neck. "You look so beautiful, it's unfair. Even the gods will be jealous."

Kook giggled softly, cheeks tinting pink. "It's too much," he mumbled, glancing shyly at his reflection.

But it wasn't. It was perfect.

They had dressed him in a rich green silk saree adorned with a peach-orange zari border, the fabric shimmering like a river of emeralds and fire.

His blouse was a vivid red, embroidered with tiny golden motifs that danced in the light.

Hoseok had helped drape the saree around his growing belly, ensuring it hugged him just right, while Jimin worked on his jewelry  stacking his arms with green glass bangles that clinked musically with every tiny movement.

His hair was styled into a soft, elegant half-updo, and Jimin had lovingly tucked tiny jasmine flowers into the twists, their sweet fragrance lingering around him. A delicate tikka rested at the center of his forehead, gleaming every time he turned his head.

When he finally stood up, ready, Hoseok and Jimin stepped back, both letting out exaggerated gasps.

"Kookie," Hoseok whispered, eyes sparkling with emotion, "You look... divine."

Jimin nodded, tears pooling in his eyes. "You're glowing, baby. Our little prince is all grown up."

Embarrassed yet touched, Kook giggled again and lightly slapped their arms. "Stop it!"

They all laughed, the room echoing with their happiness.
----------

Downstairs, the house had been transformed into a traditional paradise. Mango leaf thoranams dangled at every entrance, marigold and jasmine garlands framed every doorway, and an intricately decorated swing (oonjal) sat in the center of the hall, draped in flowers and waiting for Kook.

The elders  Mrs. Jeon, Jin, and Mrs. Min(Suga's mom)  sat proudly near the oonjal, dressed beautifully in their colorful silk sarees, ready to shower Kook with blessings.

Meanwhile, the men - Taehyung, Namjoon, Aiden, Yoongi, Jimin, and Mr. Jeon and Mr. Min(kook's uncle) stood together, dressed in white mundus with golden borders and crisp white shirts.

Taehyung had added a touch of green to his look, matching Kook’s saree  a Green angavastram slung over his shoulder, marking him as Kook's partner, his protector.

---------

A soft traditional tune began playing in the background  the sweet sound of a veena accompanied by gentle mridangam beats. The room hushed as Kook appeared at the top of the stairs, guided carefully by Hoseok and Jimin.

Every pair of eyes turned toward him.

Time seemed to pause.

There he stood, their beautiful Jungkook, dressed like royalty, carrying the life of their future in his womb, glowing with a radiance no jewel could ever rival. His hands cradled his bump protectively, almost reverently, as he descended the stairs.

Mrs. Jeon's eyes welled up instantly. Jin sniffled into a corner of her pallu. Even Taehyung, proud and stoic, felt his throat tighten painfully.

Step by step, Kook made his way down, walking toward the swing where the mothers awaited him.

Taehyung moved first, quickly reaching his side. He offered his arm wordlessly, and Kook smiled, slipping his hand into Taehyung's as they walked the final few steps together.

The women helped Kook sit carefully on the oonjal, adjusting the saree folds around him, ensuring he was comfortable.

The Ceremony:❤️✨

One by one, the mothers approached.

First was Mrs. Jeon. She held a brass plate with turmeric, kumkum, sandal paste, and fresh flowers.

She circled the plate around Kook's head three times to ward off evil, then applied a tender kumkum dot on his forehead and on his belly. Her hands trembled slightly as she blessed him, whispering prayers for a safe delivery, healthy babies, and endless happiness.

Jin followed, his hands steady and full of love. He tied a black thread around Kook’s wrist, another protective charm, and pressed his forehead to Kook's, closing her eyes in silent prayers.

Mrs. Min(aunty) came last, sprinkling raw rice mixed with turmeric over Kook’s cheeks, a symbol of abundance and good fortune.

Taehyung stood behind him the whole time, one hand resting protectively on Kook’s shoulder, his thumb gently rubbing soothing circles.
--------

The Oonjal Swinging:❤️✨

Now came the playful part  Taehyung and the others gently pushed the swing, rocking Kook back and forth slowly, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey, a new balance of life.

Kook laughed, clutching the swing chains nervously as the others sang traditional songs, clapping along.

Taehyung leaned close to his ear and whispered, "You’re the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, Kookie."

Kook’s eyes shimmered with tears, but he only smiled wider.

As the oonjal rocked gently back and forth, Kook leaned into the soothing rhythm, his fingers loosely gripping the flower-draped chains.

The warm murmur of the family’s singing filled the room, blending with the soft chime of his green bangles.

And then Kook gasped quietly.

A fluttering sensation blossomed low in his belly like the delicate brush of butterfly wings. His hand instinctively flew to his bump.

Another kick. And then another, right next to it.

Two tiny taps.😘

His wide eyes immediately turned to Taehyung, who was mid-song but noticed the sudden change in Kook’s expression.

Without a word, Kook grabbed Taehyung’s hand and pressed it firmly against his belly.

Everyone paused when they noticed.

Taehyung's eyes widened. He froze. And then there it was.
A soft, distinct kick against his palm. And another one, like a twin echo.

Taehyung’s mouth fell open slightly, eyes misting instantly.
"They’re... they're moving". he whispered, his voice shaking.

The room erupted in gasps and delighted laughter. Jin was the first to squeal, clapping her hands over her mouth in excitement.

Hoseok and Aiden jumped up and down like an excited puppy, and Mrs. Jeon immediately pressed her hand next to Taehyung’s, feeling the tiny lives stirring inside Kook.

"They’re dancing!" Jimin cried out, beaming. "They know today is for them too!"

Kook laughed through his tears, overwhelmed with love. "I think... they’re happy," he choked out, cradling his bump with both hands. "They can feel all the love around them."

Taehyung knelt in front of him without thinking, bowing his forehead against Kook's belly, whispering so only Kook  and their babies could hear

"Appa is right here, my little ones. Always."

Kook threaded his fingers through Taehyung's hair, overwhelmed by the fierce, tender love blooming around him.

The Gift Giving:❤️✨

After the swing ceremony, Kook was helped down carefully. Elders and family members took turns presenting him with gifts- silk sarees, gold bangles, sweet boxes, fruits, and coins wrapped in betel leaves.

Taehyung had something special. He knelt down in front of Kook, took his hand, and slipped a delicate gold bracelet around his wrist, the same bracelet his grandmother had once given his mother.

"For our future," he murmured, voice thick with emotion.

Kook could no longer hold back. Tears rolled down his cheeks  tears of overwhelming love, gratitude, and joy.

Taehyung quickly brushed them away, kissing the corner of his eye.

The Feast:❤️✨

Finally, the ceremony ended with a lavish feast  traditional dishes served on banana leaves. Everyone laughed, talked, and fed Kook lovingly, refusing to let him lift a finger.

Kook sat between Taehyung and Mrs. Jeon, his plate piled high, his heart fuller than ever.
--------

That night, as Kook lay curled against Taehyung, hands resting protectively on his bump, he whispered into the quiet darkness:

"Thank you for this life, Taehyung."

Taehyung kissed his forehead, pulling him closer. "No, Kookie. Thank you for carrying our future."

Outside, the stars twinkled brighter than ever  two little lights, growing stronger every day inside Kook’s heart.
