How did the novel go again?

My mind blanked as this bulky yet cowardly man in front of me began to start his report.

You know how it feels when someone dumped shit ton of information on you like a train without a stop? It was like that.

My brain was loading and overheating before crashing like a laptop's blue screen.

Basically, I didn't get what he was saying at all.

The novel explained things from Cale Henituse's perspective, it did not go into details about how the White Radish did his villainy stuff. With each word that came out of the other man's mouth, I began to think that it was like constructing the most perfect building. It wasn't far from the truth though. After all, the White Star planned to completely reconstruct the world.

The plan was very thorough.

White Star had this plan mapped out for over a thousand years.

Speaking from a clueless, outsider perspective, it was safe to say that this would frighten anyone who hears it.

There wasn't a way to stop the White Star. He had a strong hold over the Eastern Continent and influence over the Western Continent, like a beautiful invasive plant in a garden that slowly destroys everything in it.

However, that's only if you exclude Cale's existence.

A proud smile appeared on my face, it looked sinister, and the other man seemed to misunderstand it as approval.

"Then we will proceed with the plan, Sir Barrow."

Huh? What plan? Which?

I sent the man a glance, but he saw it as a sharp, warning gaze.

The man quickly explained, voice trembling slightly, "T-The mermaids have started stealing the dead mana from the swamp in the Forest of Darkness. The conflict in the ocean would stir by itself now so we should be safe to focus on searching for the ancient powers."

Ah. Seems harmless enough.

"So as planned, we will invade Harris Village, start a massacre, take the ancient power, and run."

The fuck are you saying now?

I tried very hard to not flinch and keep my composure so I wouldn't expose myself, but I didn't realize my expression had become more grave.

The man was sweating profusely and trembling like a rat.

I didn't care about his reaction.

Why was I transmigrated during such an important plot point?!

I was fuming.

This is ridiculous! It's massacring the villagers which will drive Choi Han to madness and the start of the whole plot, too—

Ah, wait...

My posture and expression slowly relaxed.

Isn't this a good thing?

I can stop White Star's plan for world domination.

That's right. I almost forgot that I have the sole authority to stop whatever terrifying thing caused by the antagonist that can happen in this world.

I looked out the window, the scenery of the Endable Kingdom displayed in front of my eyes.

I never thought I would ever look at something like this. How bizarre.

"... Cease all actions."

The man's eyes flickered up at me in surprise.

"Pardon?"

My eyes narrowed.

"I don't like repeating myself."

Woah, I sound totally cold just now. The villain package is awesome.

"A-Ah, yes! I- I will inform everyone and heed your command!"

At his words, I nodded, feeling a sense of satisfaction welling inside me.

He bowed respectfully in 90 degrees and stayed that way even after a few seconds had passed.

I stared, confused.

"... Why are you still here?" I asked.

"U-Um, you haven't dismissed me yet, so-..."

Oh.

"B-But it's fine, sir! I'm not blaming you for this presence of mine that's still bothering you like a pesky bug! If anything, it's my fault! It's all my—"

"Shut up."

This guy sure talks a lot.

"YES, SIR!"

"And bring me lemon tea."

And I always wondered what the lemon tea here that Cale disliked so much tasted like.

"YES, SIR!!!"

Like the wind, the man disappeared out the door before my eyes could follow.

Finally. Peace and quiet.

I walked over to the door of the balcony and opened it. A small gasp escaped me like the air was knocked out of my lungs.

The sight in front of me was very pretty.

Endable Kingdom was underground, but there was nothing like this on Earth. The structure itself was wondrous. It truly was the world of a novel.

I tried to recall the contents of my favorite story with much difficulty.

Although it was my favorite, the contents I remember are mostly the things that revolved around Cale rather than the world building itself. I couldn't remember the correct timeline in order and I don't remember all the characters.

Even worse, I have a really shitty memory, so that didn't help at all.

Endable Kingdom...

A kingdom where the Gods' gaze do not fall, the home of dark creatures who have been discarded aside, such as Vampires and Dark Elves.

It was a kingdom in the north of Eastern Continent, located under a giant hole.

Does this mean if the Eastern Continent was a human, Endable would be the butthole?

Anyway, I brushed away that random thought.

I still remembered that Endable was separated into several 'floors'.

The Royal Palace as well as residences of the first four nobles were on the lowest floor, the deepest part known as Section 1.

I looked up and squinted my eyes.

How do people move between floors? Are there elevators? Also, can the floors collapse like an avalanche? What stuff are holding these floors up? And how is this place reasonably bright even though we're underground? Is the sunlight from above very intense? I hate very bright sunlight.

It felt like my eyes were spinning as I thought of these questions. I momentarily forgot that this place has convenient fantasy elements.

Pretty. Should I take a picture—

I reached for my pocket, and then it hit me.

I don't have my phone.

The realization that I can no longer scroll through social media, read dumb arguments about celebrities and animes, talk to my friends, watch my favorite shows, read online novels, and leave my game progress that I paid for hit me like a truck.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

Outside of the large hole, as if sensing danger, the birds went flying in fear.

"Ah, that God of Death..."

A voice filled the dim room with a subtle mix of frustration and resignation whilst the sound echoed through the shadows like a whisper carried on the wind. The unseen presence seemed to sigh, the weight of eons etched into its intangible existence.

"Once again, meddling in the affairs of the living. Is it not enough to weave the threads of mortality without disturbing the order and nature of the world?"

The pair of eyes gleamed, one tip of a finger tracing the mouth of the wine glass as the being stared towards the golden balancing scale, one heavier than the other.

"Fate disrupted, a trespass into realms that should've remained untouched," the voice murmured, grabbing a weight that resembled a chess piece. "A soul plucked from one narrative, destined to be the force of 'protection,' a pawn in the eternal struggle. And yet, the scales must not tip too far."

The red lips curved into a smile as the weight was delicately placed onto the lighter scale, and slowly, the golden scales became balanced once more.

"... I hope this soul can be the key to restoring equilibrium that has long been destroyed."
