Investigation
Author POV-
"Okay, okay guys, calm down! Let's get into Hoseok's house and NO chaotic screaming!", Seokjin ordered, while walking into the house.
The others followed, murmuring among themselves.
"It's gonna be a long day..."
"Ah I didn't even eat my lunch."
"I'm following a strict diet so even I didn't have my lunch..."
"That's nothing. I didn't eat my breakfast too!"
"I have never eaten in my life! I don't even know what food tastes like!", Seokjin scoffed. "Can you please stop grumbling? If you don't want to investigate, that's your choice. No one is forcing you. Just shrug like Yoongi and walk away like you're the boss."
The others glared at his back, and silently began looking around, just like Seokjin did, while Hoseok was just standing awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
"Why aren't you searching? You're suspicious...", Jungkook said, walking towards him, holding a small notebook and pen in his hands.
He marked a '+' beside Hoseok's name, which was written along with the other names. When someone did anything suspicious, he'd mark a '+'. Who ever had the most '+' would probably be the criminal.
The most unbelievable and hilarious fact is, Yoongi had the least number of '+'.
He was surely scared of Yoongi getting hold of the book. Well of course, Yoongi had his so called 'sources'.
"Uh... um...", Hoseok began, when Jimin slapped Jungkook's back. "It's his house, you weirdo! How's he gonna investigate HIS OWN house?"
"Ah, yes yes. Of course.", Jungkook laughed, and walked away.
"So... what were you doing yesterday?", Jimin asked him, while looking through the drawers which contained hairstyling items.
"How's that related to the headstone breaking at 2:30 a.m today?", Hoseok asked, surprised.
"Well... the practice you were doing for the beauty competition was related to the actual competition, right? Just like that."
Before Hoseok could answer, Seokjin walked towards them and asked, "That reminds me. Yeona told me that, you told her that you were practicing until midnight... Why that late?"
"I was very determined to win the competition! Every hairdresser dreams to participate in a beauty competition and win a prize, right?"
"Uh well...", Jimin muttered and walked away, thoughtfully. Seokjin was pretty much convinced. He observes everyone closely, and that's a regular habit, so he knew Hoseok well enough to agree that he's a very passionate guy.
Suddenly, Hoseok's wife walked in, puzzled with the unexpected 'raid'. Hoseok went towards her, and said, "Don't worry, just an investigation..."
"Investigation for what?"
"The headstone, love. Now, go to bed, take some rest, and don't worry, okay?", Hoseok said, cupping his wife's cheeks adoringly.
"But-"
"No 'buts'. You're going to rest.", Hoseok declared, taking her to their room, when Yeontan called them.
"Uh... I just needed your confirmation that Hoseok was at home yesterday, and that night, when Mr. and Mrs. Lee were killed.", He said, trying not to sound rude.
"Well, yes, he was practicing for the competition, and I was lying on the sofa, giving him my feedback... And because I was sick, he was taking care of me...", She said, with a small smile. "And yesterday too, he was there. I remember him, at around half past one, worried if there were any snakes around... And, I'm sure the whole world knows that he's doing nothing but praying that the snake goes away when he thinks that it's there... I felt him, shivering and muttering beside me, for twenty minutes, until I decided to calm him down and make him go to sleep."
Hoseok looked normal from outside, but internally muttered, glaring, "I hate snakeu."
"Oh okay, thank you...", Yeontan said, with a smile.
Hoseok's wife smiled back, and left, while the others finished searching. "Looks like Hoseok has nothing suspicious..."
"OH OH!!", Taehyung exclaimed, as he lifted the mirror a bit, to discover the same book which Yeona found, the previous night, but couldn't check.
And 'pretended' to be a snake...
Jimin beside him took the book out, and looked at the cover. "Diary? In a secret place?"
Hoseok gave an awkward laugh. "These days, many people just read other's diaries, prying on personal stuff for casual entertainment, so I decided to hide it..."
"Oh... Can I open it, or...", Jimin began, when Hoseok said, "Uh... Um... Okay."
The others peeped over Jimin's shoulder while he opened that day's diary entry.
{Guys just ignore the date (and the year) in the subtitles because June 13th hasn't arrived yet, acc to the story...}
"Congratulations once again!", Jimin said, smiling.
"Thank you..."
The others left the house, and Jimin joined them after placing the diary back into it's original place.
They walked past Yoongi's house on purpose because they were totally sure it wasn't him.
And, they were scared to ask permission to investigate his house.
They walked into Jungkook's house, looking around, while the owner himself looked around, to scan for evidences.
"Let me show that I'm an honest detective, and WAY better than Seokjin hyung.", He declared, and looked thoroughly, while Namjoon was staring at him, baffled.
"What's wrong with this guy?", He muttered, and turned behind, just to crash into the wall, and groan, irritatedly.
Hoseok giggled, and continued searching for any suspicious evidence.
But, even in Jungkook's house, nothing too suspicious was found. As the incident took place early in the morning, and the investigation began without any notice, there were chances that the evidences wouldn't have been erased.
Seokjin said, "I'm not sure how we're gonna find the culprit or the evidence if it's one AMONG US. Just think about it. Can't we just pretend to not see an evidence, when it's right in front of our eyes, and just casually sigh, as if we found nothing? Can't we just go to the room where the evidence is, and just erase the evidence while the others are not looking?"
"Hoseok was just standing awkwardly and doing nothing. If you have to doubt someone, then it must be Jungkook. He was pretending to investigate his own house, what nonsense?", Jimin spoke up.
"Well, Jungkook, I can't do anything but doubt you-", Seokjin began, when Jungkook muttered, threateningly, "I can't do anything but share that video then..."
Seokjin panicked and decided to better do what Jungkook wanted. "Okay, anyways, let's just go to the other houses, and the owners, remember, I'm keeping an eye on you."
"So you're going to investigate with just one eye? I'll donate you another, if you want...", Jungkook teased, when Seokjin rolled his eyes.
"Well, you'll need those eyes more, since you need something, if not for a brain.", Seokjin mocked, and left the house, while Jungkook just stood, his mouth agape.
Has he been taking secret lessons from Yoongi?
The others ignored the scene, and followed Seokjin. Only Yeontan gently patted his back, before walking away.
At least, the sweet guy of the village...
Jungkook walked to Taehyung's mansion, who was the next suspect. He saw the 5 villagers scanning the place, while Taehyung's face looked worried.
He observed Taehyung, who was slowly walking towards a corner table. The man slowly pulled the drawer open, and looked around, cautiously.
Jungkook hid behind the front door, which was wide open, and blocked Taehyung's view to the entrance, and thought, "He's really suspicious... What is he doing?"
He marked a '+' in front of Taehyung's name and peeped to check if Taehyung was looking at his direction and sighed in relief, after seeing him search for something in the drawer. He gasped in shock, when Taehyung grabbed a sheet, and crushed it into a ball, pocketing it, after that.
Jungkook walked towards him and exclaimed, "What are you hiding, Kim Taehyung?!"
Everyone turned to them, surprised. Taehyung became nervous and started sweating.
Thick silence.
Jungkook couldn't bear the suspense, and quickly pulled out the paper ball from Taehyung's pocket, while the latter stood stiffly, shocked.
Jungkook opened it slowly, trying not to tear it, and straightened it against the table.
He read, "The weight of ARMY headstone is equivalent to the weight of two people."
"Wait, what?!", Seokjin exclaimed, and walked towards them. "What is this, Taehyung?"
"Namjoon gave it to me!", Taehyung blurted.
"Wait, why are you trapping me?!", Namjoon exclaimed.
"Remember, I asked you for help and you told me these points?!"
"If you're gonna snitch on me like that, let me reveal, I'm 100% sure that Taehyung killed Mr. Lee and Mrs. Lee!"
"What about the ghosts we saw?! What about them hugging me?! And comforting me?!", Taehyung shouted, frustrated.
Before Namjoon could utter a word, Seokjin exclaimed, "WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!! YOU HUGGED GHOSTS?!!"
Taehyung realized that the murderer must be among them, and shouldn't know about the secret and said, "Uh... I was just diverting the topic so that we could escape."
The others began murmuring among themselves, and Taehyung took advantage of it, signalling Namjoon to not reveal about the ghosts. Namjoon blinked and nodded slightly, as an 'Okay. Don't worry.'
"Okay, now you both ARE telling what happened that night.", Seokjin declared, and sat on the sofa, seriously.
The others too sat down, and stared at the two men, who were slightly nervous. They hadn't meant anything harmful, but due to their bad luck, their explanation wouldn't sound convincing.
Taehyung began, "Let me tell you what happened on the night when Yeona's parents were murdered. So-"
"You have to explain in detail, okay?", Hoseok interrupted.
Taehyung tried not to laugh and said, "Okay. So, I was exhausted after another late day at work. Late night, actually. When I was walking home, I saw Jungkook running away from Mr. Lee's house and was pretty confused. Curious, I walked in, to see them lying down, beaten up, and they were struggling to breathe. I knew that IT MUST be Jungkook, for sure! I ran to them, and they stuttered, 'Yeo- Yeon--'. I realised that they wanted to tell something to their daughter... But, suddenly, they began to struggle and I opened Google and tried to search up some first aid, but they died, in front of my eyes, before uttering a 'Min Yoongi'. I was shocked and worried."
"Wait. First they said 'Yeona', then they said, 'Min Yoongi'. What if they wanted both of them to marry?! I mean, people tell their last wish before dying, right?", Jimin suggested.
"Nonsense! How can that be possible??", Seokjin scoffed.
Little did they know, that her parents really did want her to marry Yoongi, though that wasn't the reason why they uttered Yoongi's name.

I'm really sorry because from now on, I'll probably update once or twice a week only :((( it's just, the college timings are too long and I hardly have time to study and work on the story...
But dw, I'm still there, just a lil busy... I'm not leaving you guys ofc, after confusing you up with the clues and suspects :P
After this, I'll still publish stories, just that the frequency would be a lil lesser... Also I'm sorry if I stop reading your books in between, I'll try to read them whenever I find time T_T
Well, I hope you guys liked this chapter, and thank you guys SO MUCH for always being there for me!
Do you want me to reveal the criminal? Okay then, the password is my current bias wrecker ;) from BTS ofc~
I'll reveal the criminal to you guys, because anyways, with plenty of clues, I did reveal him, before. But now, I'm going to reveal it, and delete my comment, so that the other readers don't know it in advance :P
I'll tell you why I'm revealing him... It's because some of you have already mentioned him PLENTY of times as being sus... So, I'll let you know that you're right!
