Kalani had just finished putting her hair in a half-up half-down. She had already taken her shower and put her outfit on. She wore a plain black tee, grey biker shorts, white Nike socks, and black Yeezy slides. She sprayed herself down with strawberry poundcake perfume before she walked out of the room. She walked downstairs and sat down on the couch.

"KALANII!" Trin yelled as she walked into the room, her hand holding her hair up in a ponytail state. "Can you help me?" she asked in a huff. Kalani nodded her head and stood up from the couch.

Trin walked into her room and grabbed the hair essentials before she walked back out. She gave the gel and brush to Kalani before she sat down on the floor. Kalani opened the container and started brushing Trins' hair.

"Where you think Demauri gone take you?" Trin asked. Kalani shrugged her shoulder as she started to wrap the hair tie around Trin's hair. "Ion know, but this finna be a long ass date," she answered. She fluffed Trins' hair out a little bit before she patted her back. "You're done," she said. Trin responded with a 'thank you' as she walked away. 

Kalani sighed and got up from the couch. She sluggishly walked to the kitchen and grabbed a pineapple-flavored Popsicle. After she opened it, she sat down at the table and started to eat.

"KALANI YOU'RE PHONE'S RINGING!" Tristen called out from upstairs. "AND IT SAYS 'MY MAN' WITH CROSSED FINGERS AND A RED HEART!" 

"ANSWER IT!" Kalani yelled as she got up from her seat. She walked up the stairs and entered her room, seeing Demauri on her screen. She took it off the charger and slid her slides off before she sat down on her bed.

"Good morning ma." Demauris' voice boomed. Kalani replied with a 'good morning' as she grabbed her remote. "Where you at?" he asked as he looked at her surroundings. "My room," she stated. "Me and Tristen re-designed it yesterday."

Demauri nodded his head. "Well we down the street so I hope you ready," he said. Kalani kissed her teeth. "Maaan. Youn even know whatchu talm bout, I been ready," she said. "Ok. We'll see." was the last thing Demauri said before he hung up.

Kalani nodded and exited the bed, slipping her slides back on. As she walked downstairs, the doorbell rang. 

"WHO IS IT?!" Kalani playfully asked as she looked through the peephole. "Me," Demauri said. "Who is me?" Kalani asked. "Stop playin' wimme and open this door. I'm getting baked out here."

"You already baked," Kalani said as she opened the door. Demauri mushed her head as he walked past. "Ian no god damn baked. I'm a real nigga." he shrugged. "as a matta fact, I'mma thug."

"Well say bye 'cause a thug ain't finna date my daughta." Momma Brown. Kalani clapped her hands. "PREACH MOTHER!" she yelled.

"Stop screamin' in my house lil girl, and ain't y'all supposed to be leavin'?" Momma Brown asked. Demauri and Kalani nodded their heads and left.

"Where we going first?" Kalani asked. "Wherever the wind takes us," Demauri said as he opened the car door. Kalani shook her head and exaggeratedly sighed. "Whatever you was watching last night, don't watch it again."

"I'll watch whatever I want, whenever I want." Demauri clapped back as he got in the car. "So sassy," Kalani mumbled.

"Get outta the car Demauri, got me out here in dis heat," Kalani said. She looked around the parking lot and sighed. "Oh my god man! I'm gonna die!"

"Girl shut up," Demauri muttered as he walked past her. "You ain't gon die. Now c'mon so we can get these dirty ass wristbands." He conjoined their hands and started walking to the entrance of the amusement park. 

Kalani powered her phone off and put it in her pocket. "I wanna get on the slingshot," She said, pointing at the ride. Demauri smacked his lips. "You," he said as he pointed at Kalani. "Can get on by yoself, but me," he was pointing to himself now. "I'll wait."

"I thought you was a thug?" Kalani asked/stated. "I am a thug, but since you wanna know so much, a thug wouldn't put they life in danger. But only thugs know that." Demauri replied. Kalani side-eyed him. "No bookie. If you a thug, you a scary thug."

Demauri jerked his neck back. "How you gon tell me what I am?" he asked. "Because, how you a thug? and you scared of a ride?" Kalani asked. "Because! That's just what I am and that's what I do.!" Demauri exclaimed. "Yeah okay." Kalani waved him off, speed walking to the entrance. "Yeah okay."

When Demauri finally got to the entrance of the amusement park, Kalani was standing beside the booth with her hands on her hips.

"you finally made it D!" she exclaimed. Demauri mugged her. "That's cause you left me by myself Kay!" he mimicked. "You gon be okay," Kalani stated. She grabbed Demauri's hand and walked to the ticket booth.

"How many people?" The concessionaire asked. "Two," Kalani answered. "What kind of ticket?" she intrigued. "All Day." Demauri butted in. "That'll be $75.69."

Demauri paid and grabbed the two wristbands from the concessionaire. He handed one to Kalani and helped her put it on.

"Thank you doodie," Kalani thanked with a closed-eye smile. "Don't ever call me that shit again, young nigga." Demauri said. "Ok...." Kalani paused. "Doodie."

Demauri scrunched his face up and walked past her, bumping their shoulders. "C'mon so we can go get some food," he said as he turned around. He waited for Kalani to catch up before he started walking again.

"I wanna get on that," Kalani pointed to the 'Tower of Terror' ride. "You gon get on with me?" she asked. Demauri subtly nodded his head making Kalani scream in excitement.

"You wanna eat first or get on the rides?" Demauri asked. Kalani looked at him like he was slow. "We gon get on rides first, dummy. Then we can eat." She stated. Demauri nodded his head. "That make sense."

Kalani rolled her eyes and grabbed Demauri's hand, running to the Bumper Cars line. "Whatchu think Tommy dem doing right now?" she wondered. Demauri looked at his watch to see it was 1:12. "Probably just now arriving at the first party."

The couple continued talking as they got closer to the gate.

"Ticket?" The worker asked. The couple rolled up their sleeves and let the worker scan them before they walked through the gate. 

"I'm finna eat you up D," Kalani said as she sat down in one of the bumper cars. "Yeah okay, You talkin' now but we gon see who really finna eat." Demauri clapped back. Kalani jerked her head back and raised an eyebrow. "Yeahh, we'll see."

The security came around and made sure everyone was buckled in safely before they walked back out. The worker did a three-second countdown before he screamed: "GO!"

Kalani stepped on the pedals and swerved, bumping into a little white kid. As she backed up, Demauri bumped into her, causing her to bump into the little girl again. The little girl pressed on the pedal and flew.

Before Kalani could go, Demauri bumped into her again. "Ouu, you wanna get fucked up!" she dragged.

The couple was now in the line of Slingshot and Demauri was shakin' in his boots. Visibly.

"You that scared?" Kalani questioned as she put her phone in his face. "I thought you was a thug?" she asked. "Shut the fuck up," Demauri said as he shoved the phone out his face. Kalani laughed. "You can hold my hand Doodie." Kalani offered as she held her hand out. Demauri quickly conjoined their hands and Kalani started swinging them.

"We's finsta have fun," Kalani said as she stuck her tongue out. "And scream our lungs out like them girls that be at a Rod Wave concert." Demauri added.

"NEXT!" The worker yelled. Demauri and Kalani stepped up.

"Y'all look familiar," the worker stated as she slowly scanned their wristbands. "Y'all dance for somebody?" she asked. The two teens nodded their heads in sync. "We dance for Tommy," they said in sync. 

The lady's jaw dropped. "My daughter watch y'all!" she exclaimed. Kalani and Demauri only nodded. "Do you know how I can book y'all? I want y'all there for her eighth." she said. "You can call or email." Kalani rushed out. The lady said 'okay' as she opened the gate.

The two teens walked through and got in their seats.

"She talk a lot," Demauri grumbled. "It wasn't that much talking though. She only said like..." Kalani counted on her hands. "Four sentences."

"Four is too much for somebody that's finna get on this ride." Demauri expressed. Kalani looked at him. "You still scared?" She asked. "Hell ye-"

The couple was now in the air. Demauri was screaming at the top of his lungs, with his eyes closed and Kalani was looking amazed by the scenery, pointing things out. "Look at that D!" Kalani yelled, pointing at the sunset. Demauri shook his head. "Ian lookin' at that shit," he said. Kalani smacked her lips. "LAME!"

After the ride ended, the duo went to get some food and got on some baby rides before they started walking to the Tower of Terror.

"You think this gon be scary?" Demauri asked. Kalani shook her head. "You don't think nothing gon be scary. Whatchu scared of?"

"Losin' a fight," Kalani muttered. "Sound like sum you'll be scared of," Demauri said. "It is."

"What movie we watching?" Kalani questioned as she walked through the entrance of the movie theater. "None too special, but we watching Missing," Demauri said. Kalani nodded and got in line. The couple got their snacks and tickets before they walked into the room.

Kalani sat down in the back and Demauri sat beside her. She grabbed her slushy and some candy as the room got dark. "This better be a good ass movie," Kalani mumbled. "On my mama." Demauri agreed.

"SHH!" Someone from behind them shushed. The couple turned around with a mug on their face. "Ghee... Nobody not een talkin' to you so shut the fuck up," Demauri expressed. "And mind your business. You loud by telling us to shush and the movie ain't even start," Kalani added. "It's not adding up." she popped her neck.

The person didn't say anything back so the two teens turned around. "Exactly." they mumbled in sync before they started laughing.

It was the end of the movie and Demauri and Kalani were now walking to McDonald's.

"Where else we goin'?" Kalani asked as she kicked a pebble. "We gotta go to a pumpkin patch, Walmart, and a haunted hayride." Demauri answered. Kalani nodded her head. "I wanna sneak into one of the parties." She said with a faint smile.

Demauri nodded. "That do sound fun." He said, rubbing his hands together. "But how we gon know where they at?" he asked. Kalani plastered a smirk on her face. "Sassy's location of course!"

She quickly pulled her phone out and powered it on. "I'm not even hungry nomo." she mumbled as she checked Sassy's location. "They ain't that far D, They like two blocks down."

Demauri didn't reply, but he walked over to Kalani and checked her phone. "Youn wanna race tho," he said. Kalani jerked her head back, almost hitting Demauri in his nose. "Who don't wanna race?" she asked. Demauri smacked his lips. "Ight c'mon."

The couple walked to the stop sign and got in position.

"Ready!"

"Set!"

"Go!"

The couple started to run. When Demauri ran past Kalani, she turned into the shortcut. She made sure she turned on her flashlight as she ran. She slowed down from time to time, but she kept pushing herself.

As she got closer to the end of the alleyway, the Tommy cars came into view. Kalani looked left and right before she ran across the street. She started to walk to the party and watched from afar.

A few minutes later, Demauri was standing by her side, panting hard as hell.

"You wanna go over there?" Kalani asked. Demauri looked at her like she was crazy and shook his head. "You can, but I'll stay right here," he said. Kalani side-eyed him before she grabbed his hand, dragging him across the street.

She let Demauri go as they got closer to the boys. "Don't be loud," she whispered. "I wanna see how long it's gone take them to realize we standing beside them."

The couple slowly walked over to the crowd and stood in between K3 and Donte.

"How long you think it's gon take before they notice?" Demauri whispered. "A long time. Just as long as nobody say nothing or point us out." Kalani answered.

Kalani looked down at her watch. It was only 4:17, so they had more time than they thought.

Tommy blew the whistle and TiccTacc came out. She started dancing and she did some tricks before she pointed at Kalani. Kalani's eyes widened before she ran to stand behind Tommy, Demauri following behind her.

"Hey Tommy," Kalani said as he turned around. Tommy jumped back a bit before he smiled. "Hey Kay," he greeted as he hugged her. Kalani returned the hug and took a step back. "Wassup D1," Tommy held his hand up. "Yoo!" Demauri said as he dabbed him up.

"Why y'all here?" Tommy asked. Demauri pointed at Kalani and Kalani pointed at Demauri.

"Why is you lying?!" Demauri asked as he put his hands on top of his head. Kalani laughed. "I'm just playing. We here cause of me." she pointed at herself. Tommy nodded. "Y'all wanna do a hopout?" he asked.

Kalani looked at the party then at Demauri. "It don't matter to me," he shrugged. "We ain't gon stay long anyways."

"Ok. Y'all gon go last." Tommy said as he blew into the whistle.

Kalani and Demauri stood by the side of the car. "Who goin first?" Kalani asked. Demauri pointed at her. "Girls first." he said. Kalani smacked her hands on her cheek and made a distraught face. "Ion wanna go," she groaned. "It's either you go first or you go last," Demauri said. "It don't matter to me."

"Shut up." Kalani said as she looked back. Demauri scrunched his face up. "No." 

Tommy looked back at the couple before he blew the whistle. Kalani walked out and high fived a few people before she walked back to the crowd.

Tommy blew the whistle again and Demauri started to skip out. Kalani and the crew started to hype him up as he danced. 

"Why y'all here?" Sassy asked. "We was two blocks away and I suggested it." Kalani said. "We ain't staying long though." Demauri butted in. Sassy nodded.

"You ready?" Demauri asked. Kalani nodded and grabbed his hand. "BYE Y'ALL!" she yelled as she waved. "We ain't leaving right now, we gotta wait for mama to come get us." Demauri said. "Which one?" Kalani asked. "Your biological one," Demauri trailed off. "My biological mama at work."

"I know that." Kalani said. "I'm finna go sit down by Justyce and 'em. Call me when she arrive." she said as she slowly walked away. "IGHT!" Demauri yelled with a thumbs up. Kalani walked over to Justyce, Soraya, and TiccTacc and sat down in the empty chair.

"When y'all get here?" Soraya asked as she looked at Kalani. "We was here for a lil minute before TiccTacc pointed us out during her hopout." Kalani answered.

"Fuck allat. Teach me that trick you did durin' yo hopout." Justyce said. Kalani stood up and put her phone in the chair.

"So first you gotta put one hand out, then you gotta go in a backbend position with that same arm and one leg, but when you get your other hand on the ground, lift yo feet up like you doin' a handstand." Kalani instructed as Justyce followed the steps. "Now turn yo body and land on both feet." she said.

When Justyce stood up,she dusted off her hands and high fived Kalani.

"You did better den me," Kalani complimented. Justyce smiled widely. "Thank you Kay."

"You welcome." Kalani said as she grabbed her phone. "C'mon Kalani!" Demauri called out. Kalani gave the three girls a hug and ran to the car. She got in the backseat and buckled up.

"Where y'all going now?" Momma Brown asked. "The Pumpkin patch, then Walmart, then McDonald's, then yo house." Demauri listed. "Pfft. Ian taking y'all across town, that's Tommy's job. Not mine." Momma Brown said.

Kalani and Demauri laughed. "We all know that's a lie!" Demauri called her out. "Right, we know that you know, you wouldn't want us walking around LA by ourselves. Let alone carry some bags and pumpkins." Kalani added.

"Shut y'all ass up and play some music." Momma Brown said as she passed them the aux chord. Kalani laughed as she grabbed the aux. "I love the way it fells to be a haterrr." she sung. Momma Brown glanced at her through the mirror. "You gone love the way that belt feel if youn stop talkin' and play some music."

Demauri laughed as Kalani frowned her face up. "You havin' flashbacks ain't ya?" Demauri teased as he pointed his finger. Kalani side-eyed him. "Says the one that was scared of the slingshot." she clapped back. 

Demauri's face went natural. "That was not funny." he said. "At all." Momma Brown added. "It's not gon be funny if it's the truth. The truth hurts." Kalani explained as she rolled her eyes. She turned on Where I Wanna Be by Donell Jones and sat back, closing her eyes.

"Don't go to sleep ma." Demauri said. "I'm not." Kalani replied.

"I never had," Kalani sung. "thoughts that controlled me. Until something bad, left me so lonely." she continued. "And I want it back, I want the old me. I'm tryin' to forget, but things just remind meeeeee-."

Kalani looked down to see Momma Browns' hands on the aux chord.

"Why you do dat?" She asked with a slight mug. "Because we here and you was draggin' it." Momma Brown said as she unlocked the doors. Demauri got out first and ran to Kalani's side of the car. He opened the door and helped her out.

"Awlll y'all so cute." Momma Brown acknowledged. "I remember when my man used ta do dat to me."

"What man?" The two teens asked in sync. They looked at each other and started laughing. "Don't hate." Momma Brown held up her hand. "We not. We just genuinely wanna know where he at." Demauri said. Kalani nodded her head in agreement. "Hurry up and go get some pumpkins so we can go do these other lil errands."

The couple laughed as they ran into the pumpkin patch. They picked out some pumpkins, paid, and ran out. They sat their pumpkins in the middle seat and buckled up as Momma Brown drove off. Demauri plugged his phone into the aux and started playing Drive By.

"Even when you not here you get all of my time!" The whole car sung as Momma Brown turned out of the parking lot. "Sweeter than a number nine, with a large sunrise!"

Kalani and Demauri went silent as the next part came on while Momma Brown continued singing.

"I can't get you out of my, out of my mind. I'm saying stop playing girl, you outta line." The two teens sung. "Couldn't erase these feelings even if I tried. YOU STAY ON MY MIIIIIIIIIIIND!"

"Thinking about yoou," Demauri sung as he pointed at Kalani.

"Thinking about fooood!" Kalani sang. "Heeey, food stay on my miiiind!"

Momma Brown laughed and shook her her head as Demauri side-eyed her.

"You can buy your own foooood now." Demauri stated as he changed the song. "It was never that serious." Kalani said as she rolled down her window. "But it was." Demauri replied. "Not."

"ANYWAYS! We almost here." Momma Brown interrupted.

Kalani looked out the windshield to see Walmart coming into view. "What we goin' here for?" She asked. "The stuff to carve the pumpkins and just cause I want some orange chicken." Demauri answered.

The two Browns looked at him in disgust. "You're nasty." They said. Demauri jerked his head back. "How?" He asked.

"We can just go to Panda Express if you want it that bad. Walmart orange chicken is not that good." Kalani explained. "It's not good at all." Momma Brown commented.  "Y'all just some haters." Demauri waved them off.

"So which one better? Walmart or Panda Express?" Kalani asked. "Panda Express." Demauri muttered. "Exactly. You just proved our point." Momma Brown said.

Kalani unlocked the door and got out. She waited till Demauri got out and closed the door. "C'mon Dooda," she held her hand out. Demauri conjoined their hands and started walking.

"Welcome to Walmart," A lady greeted. The couple nodded and separated. Kalani grabbed a basket and made her way to the pumpkin carving aisle while Demauri went to go get some food. She grabbed two boxes, put them in the basket, and started walking out the aisle.

As she hit a left, she bumped into Demauri. "Woahhh, who you runnin' from?" She asked. "I wasn't runnin' from somebody, I was just coming to make sure you got the stuff to carve da pumpkins." Demauri explained.

Kalani held up the basket. "I got 'em, I was just finna go get some strawberries so I can make some chocolate covered strawberries." she said as she walked to the fruit department.

She grabbed two containers of strawberries and put them in the basket. "You ready?" she asked as she turned around. Demauri subtly nodded and took the basket from her. They walked to self checkout and Kalani paid while Demauri bagged up the items.

"Where yo chocolate at?" Demauri asked as he dug through the bag. "In my snack closet." Kalani said, throwing the receipt in the trash as they walked out of the door. They got in the car and sat the bag on the floor.

"We still goin' to Mickey D's?" Kalani asked. Demauri shook his head. "No. We just gon make some food at your house while we crave da pumpkins." he said. "K." the two browns said in sync.

Kalani and Demauri were currently starting their dinner. They decided to have a small seafood mukbang so they were gonna start it before they started decorating their pumpkins.

"I need some music." Kalani mumbled as she ran out of the kitchen. She ran upstairs, grabbed her speaker and the charger, and ran back into the kitchen. She plugged the speaker up and turned it on.

"Whatchu wanna listen to?" She asked as she looked back. "Candy Rain." Demauri suggested as he shrugged. Kalani connected her phone to the speaker and went to YouTube. She searched the song up and tapped on it, skipping the few ads she had to watch.

Demauri got the seasonings out of the cabinet while Kalani grabbed the sausages out of the fridge. She opened the pack with a knife and grabbed a cutting board.

"You tryna go live?" Demauri asked as he put the seasonings on the counter. Kalani nodded and started to cut the sausages.

After a few minutes, Demauri sat his phone on the counter and started the live.

"Hey guysss." Kalani greeted as the comments started to roll in.

"We makin' a seafood boil." Kalani said as she pursed her lips. "It's finna be good!" Demauri yelled from the back.

"I'mma put it in ha back." Kalani sung as she did the dance. Demauri pushed her out of the camera and started doing the same dance. "Put it in ha back."

"We didn't go clowning cause we went on an all day date and heyy." Kalani explained as she looked at the comments.

"I'm standing on business. Whatchu standin' on?" Kalani asked as she turned to Demauri. he looked at her weirdly. "What business I got to stand on if i'm already in a relationship?"

Kalani shrugged. "So apparently he ain't standing on business, so I think business is standing on him." she said as she walked out of the camera view.

"She's just yapping." Demauri said as he put some corn in a pot. He accepted Sassy's request to join and walked away to start on the crab leg.

"SO Y'ALL WANNA MAKE A SEAFOOD BOIL WHEN WE NOT THERE?" The whole Tsquad asked. Kalani poked her head in the camera and nodded. "We gon eat it too." She said. "But we'll save some for you Tjay."

Tjay did a little happy dance before he walked out of the camera view. "So you gon feed him but not feed me?" Trin asked. Kalani nodded. "He my fav for real. If we bein' honest."

"So list your faves." TooToo said. "I can't." Kalani sighed. "I'm tryna get this food started so we can carve our pumpkins." 

"But you can multitask?" BZ asked/stated with a scrunched up face. Kalani groaned. "I know I can, but it's toooo many of y'all to be keeping up with." she reasoned. "So who's your top five?" Dexter asked.

"Uhm... First is my man, then it's Tjay of course, then Demaurio-"

"Federal." Demaurion interrupted. "as heck, but lemme continue. Third is now Dontae, my fourth one is K3, and my last one for boys is probably Dexter." Kalani explained.

"Now do girls." Sassy said.  "So first is Tristen, then it's Raya, then it's Kim, then it's Trin, and then TiccTacc." Kalani listed.

"So if we yo favorites, how come Tjay the only person gettin' food?" Kim asked. "Because he's day one, y'all are day six." Kalani smiled.

The squad all started to talk at once.

"K guys," Kalani hovered her finger above the kick button. "Talk to us later when y'all got it figured out." She said as she pressed the button.

She made sure she started the eggs and shrimp before she started to put a tablecloth around the oval table.

She walked into the living room, grabbed the pumpkins, and walked back into the kitchen. She sat the pumpkins down and walked back to the living room.

She grabbed the few bags that were lying on the floor and took them to the kitchen. She put her strawberries in the fridge while Demauri took the pumpkin carving essentials out of their boxes.

"When you gon make your chocolate covered strawberries?" He asked as he started to cut out the top of his pumpkin. "Probably after we done.... Depending on how long this gon take." Kalani answered.

After that, the couple sat in a comfortable silence and worked on their pumpkins.

The two teenagers were now in Kalani's room eating and watching TV.

They had already put their pumpkins outside and they also left some of the seafood boil out for their siblings.

"I personally think we shouldn't have left them any food, cause there's this thing called Yummy Crab and the Lord knows they have their own money." Demauri said out of the blue.

Kalani shrugged. "You betta go get you a second plate then, cause they supposed to be coming home now." She said.

Demauri thought about it and shook his head. "I'll just make them buy me some snacks." He mumbled to himself.

Kalani reached over Demauri legs and grabbed her phone off of the nightstand. She posted on Instagram, put her phone on DND, and put it on charger. She then grabbed the remote, laid down, and changed the movie to Boondocks. Demauri repeating her actions.

After a few minutes of silence, Tristen, Sassy, and Trin busted through the door.

"How was y'all day today?" Sassy asked with a big smile. Kalani looked at her and shook her head. "We left y'all some food in the pan." She said, making the three girls cheer and run out of the room.

Kalani rolled her eyes and turned her head to Demauri. "What are we?" She asked. Demauri looked at her and put his arm around her shoulders, bringing her closer to him.

“𝐖𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.” He said as he kissed her forehead. Kalani smiled and closed her eyes, sleep taking over.
