Daiya Yu has always wanted to leave the isle of the lost because she has spent her entire life there along with the other kids of villains. She might have some friends but that is about it. She prefers to be alone anyway, so it works. That and because no one really wants to be friends with her in the first place.

She isn't the easiest person to be friends with. She might be a villain, but she scares the other villains and their kids. It's kind of like Mal as she's the daughter of Maleficent, and because Maleficent is the most ruthless villain. Also because she also has her father's personality, which probably doesn't help.

So when Daiya and her friends all get a chance to go to auradon and learn how to be good. Things don't really go according to the plan made by Maleficent. On top of Audrey, the daughter of Aurora isn't so keen on the villain kids being in Auradon.

The vks then slowly learn how to be good, on top of realizing that they don't have to be like their parents.
