damian's pov

I sat at the table until Calista was finished with her meal. Thoughts drifting to mine and Dick's conversation,

"Damian! Wait up." Dick called out as he ran to catch up.

"Did you need something Grayson?" I questioned, wanting to go to the training room to get out my frustrations. What is my mother planning? Does it involve me?

"Kid, listen. I know Talia is your mother but if she's planning something you need to be honest here, okay?" I nodded in response. I was always honest with Dick. I could never lie to him.

"Has she contacted you at all?" Only for me to shake my head no.

"Okay good, that means she wants the element of surprise." Dick thought out loud.

"If she contacts you, tell me or Bruce. I don't want to lose you again."

I hesitated before speaking, "I-Okay. I will let you know if Talia gets in contact with me."

Now I'm sitting in the dining room admiring my lover as she finishes eating her breakfast. I notice Tim and Jason leaving to go work on a case. Dick went to find Bruce after our conversation. Leaving just me and Calista.

"You know I love you, right?" I questioned.

"I know, you say it every day," She looked up at me with a blinding bright smile plastered on her face. "and I love you too."

I could feel a wave of warmth wash over me at the sight of her smile and I knew she meant every word. I felt so fortunate to have found someone who loves me just as much as I love them.

I take her gloved hand in mine, brushing my thumb over the top of her hand. I had never felt so connected to someone before, like we were in our own little world, just the two of us. I could feel the spark between us, and I knew that no matter what happened, I could always trust Calista to be honest with me and to be there for me when I needed her. I was so grateful to have found someone I could share my life with.

I reluctantly let go of her hand to go find my father and Grayson.
