Chapter 2: Time

???'s pov:

Lyria and the guard walked down the dimly lit hallway. There were more footsteps behind them, but they went unnoticed as angels, demons and other beings could not see the goddess, Scarlet. All the twists and turns they went through, was kind of like life. Everyone's life has twists and turns, whether they are happy or sad. There are always twists and turns, and they always would be. Scarlett knew this better than most. It was possibly why Scarlett was chosen for this duty—forever being trapped within and beyond time. Why she, of all people, was selected for this duty, she did not know.

Perhaps, it was because of what happened when Scarlett was alive. All the heartbreak and terror she went through. Maybe it was watching the one she loved died. As she watched the princess go down the hallways, the long twisted ones.

Scarlett sighed and looked away. Maybe it was because she was now the goddess of time, but she had always seen this happen. If only the girl knew the tragedy that was coming. Scarlett knew the future, present, and past. She had killed and assassinated. Hel and Skylar, the goddesses of death and life, had told her her new duties: Making sure that time went the way it was supposed to and to ʀɛաɨռɖ time when it didn't.

Maybe it was a terrible job, watching people die, go through torture, heartbreak, and perhaps even more. Suicide, cutting, death, and torture. She saw it all. The dragon world, Aurora, Hope, Jade, and the rest. Their world was heartbreaking as hers but the angels and demons suffered the most. Salvation's story was twisted. She was killed and then forgotten. Iris was special; unique in more ways than one. It was surprising that she did what she did. Fallen's fall from humanity and who lost herself. Michael... Oh, Michael perhaps suffered the most out of all of them.

Evil and good are always colliding. Never to end. All their stories, legends, and myths would all be forgotten at some point. Scarlett knew everything. She always would. She knew every word, every story, everything. When would this cycle of hers end? Possible never. Scarlett adjusted throughout her life. At this point, she couldn't even remember who she was when she was still alive. All she remembered were glimpses and blurry faces of people she once knew.

Perhaps, she needs help or maybe a companion.

Scarlett watched as all the servants walked around, not noticing the powerful entity. Scarlett knew why, of course. She was invisible to everyone but other gods and goddesses. She sometimes wondered why she agreed to this life. Perhaps, it was a good thing. After all, Scarlett barely remembered her past. They were all a blur, but her emotions, she remembered those. Heartbreak and tragedy. She was sure everyone she once knew was dead. Even if she did see them again, she wouldn't know who they were.

After all, they were all dust blowing in the wind. Only being there temporarily until they perish.

Scarlett decided to look around this place. Maybe it was because she could feel normal again, but whatever the reason, she did it. As Scarlett looked around, she noticed a mirror and finally looked at herself in the mirror, after years of neglecting the need for one. Scarlett's long black hair reached her waist. Her cold blue eyes were stunning. Her long red dress did indeed fit her well. The flowers in her hair were gorgeous. Her white, gray, and silver wings fit on her back. Scarlett knew that the people there would probably think she was the most stunning woman ever to exist. Scarlett didn't see herself like that. She knew that she was pretty, many of the other gods told her, but she didn't care.

Ding. Dong.

Ding. Dong

Ding. Dong.

The clock had chimed. It was time to leave. Scarlett took one last look at herself and then flew out the balcony taking a leap of faith.
