Chapter 4: Secrets

Secrets. Everyone had those. There's a saying in this world; If you kept secrets to yourself, no one would ever find out. R̵̨̫̠͚̲͔̣̥͚̳͌̂̒͌͋͋̒̽͗͠ḭ̸̗̙͔̰̟̻̑̆̂͘g̷͖̗͎͙̞̬͖͍̗̲̋̉̇̓ẖ̵̫͝t̴̝̪͛̂̅̓̄̈́̐̾̍?̷̧̨̥̦̙̟̗̇͛̽͆͊̕

But, there is one small problem with that statement; yourself. For sometimes, you could be the greatest danger to yourself without even knowing it. It wasn't common or at all rare to have a dark side to yourself. Except...it was near impossible.

So while Lyria ran down the twisted hallways, her first secret would be revealed.

"Lyria. Lyria, slow down! You're making me dizzy just watching you!" A feminine voice shouted in Lyria's head.

"Sorry, Zar, "Lyria thought back as she reached her room and finally slowed down and came to a stop.

"Thank the devils," Zarah thought breathlessly.

Zarah wasn't exactly an angel. Or human. She was a demon, but she was a part of Lyria. Lyria's dark side, you could say. She had many different beliefs than the angels did, and Lyria loved hearing about them.

"Is there anyone in the room?" Zarah asked cautiously.

"No, there isn't," Lyria replied.

"In that case, I am showing myself; No need to hide if there isn't anyone here,"

Zarah showed up from nowhere, and to be honest, Lyria didn't know why Zarah only showed up when she was alone, nor did she care.

"What happened?" the blonde asked, noticing the red mark on Lyria's cheek and her glistening eyes.

"My m-mother s-slapped me," Lyria whispered, and the elder girl brought her into a tight hug.

Zarah knew what that was like. In fact, her family often used to hurt her for no reason. So in return, she started hurting herself more often. God knows how many times she tried to run away from them. But, when she was 16, she finally snapped and killed them all. She hoped they would go to hell, but no. She was the one to go to Hell. Or maybe her parents were there too, and she didn't notice. Oh, wait- never mind. They were obliviated from existence.

'Lyria, she just wanted freedom,' Zarah thought. She's kind of like Zarah, always yearning for battle, happiness, and freedom. Zarah was the same.

Lyria started to cry on Zarah, but the blond didn't mind; she just wished she had someone else to do that for her.

"Don't worry about your mother. I'm sure it was just an act of anger and that she'll apologize tomorrow." Zarah said, comforting her.

"Thank you, Zar. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Neither would I,"

Those two were like two peas in a pod. Always fitting in with each other. Zarah took a deep breath and decided to tell Lyria, like a sister to her, to show one of her greatest secrets. That's when she made her first mistake.

She took a deep breath in, and her demonic wings appeared, and so did her tail. They were red and black and a beautiful blend of them too!

Lyria gasped and said something that Zarah did not expect.

"Can I please touch them?" Lyria begged, beggingly falling on her knees. She looked up at Zarah with puppy-dog eyes.

"No," Zarah started. "Oh come on please don't,"

"Fine," Zarah replied, and not even a moment later, Lyria started petting them everywhere. They were hard and slightly poky, but they were also so soft! Zarah sighed and sat down.

"I'm going to tell you something. And please believe me," Zarah said, suddenly with a look of sad regret.

Lyria nodded.

Zarah took a deep breath, hesitating for just a moment.

"I used to be an angel before becoming a demon... "
