It had been a few hours since Five had been left in her room, and now she was creating little light animals in her palm, modelling them from the tablet on her bedside table, which continued to show her pictures of various animals. Before she could finish the small dog, there was a knock on her door. She waited for a few seconds, but then approached the door, gingerly turning the handle.
"Hello?" She asked carefully, before opening the door fully. When the door was open, it revealed Clint Barton, the man who had been injured at the base.
"Hey, kid. I'm Clint." He introduced, and she smiled, grabbing his hand. She pulled him into her room, and showed him in her palms the dog she had been creating. "That's really cool," Clint told the girl.
"Thank you!" She said enthusiastically.
"Hey Five, Tony is throwing a party and we think it'd be nice for you to come." Clint announced, smiling at the kid. She nodded slowly, before her eyebrows furrowed.
"Party? What's that?" Clint frowned at her question before he went into a brief explanation of what it was. "I wanna hear music!" Five said afterwards, and Hawkeye nodded with a large grin. He went outside with her following, and they grabbed a dress for her to wear.
"Can the lady help me please?" Five asked shyly, talking about Natasha.
"Natasha?" Clint asked her, and she nodded in confirmation. He agreed, and then he went to find the other ginger.
Not long later, the former assassin came into Five's room, seeing her looking at the dress strangely. Natasha closed the door behind her, before carefully helping Five into her dress.
The Avenger did notice, however, how many scars the experiment had over her back. There were a lot, almost as if they were from a surgery to fix her, not an experiment.
"You ready, sweetie?" Natasha asked kindly, and Five nodded slowly, still fidgeting with her dress. She let out a sigh before pulling the top half of her ginger hair back, and creating a tie with the light she formed from her hand.
With that, they walked hand in hand to the party's main area. Natasha allowed her to go off as she went to the bar to mix drinks, but told Five not to wander too far.
The experiment herself didn't go too far, she actually went to one of the people she recognised. It was Thor.
"Hey, mister?" She said quietly, tugging on his large hand until he crouched down.
"Yes, Lady Five?"
"Why are you so tall?" She asked randomly, though it was a good question, as he was abnormally tall. He laughed at her question, before answering.
"Well, I am a god." Was his answer, and she nodded before asking him another question.
"Can I be tall?" She questioned, and he nodded with a large smile.
"Certainly!"
He picked her up, making her even taller than him. Laughing, she patted the top of his blonde hair.
"This is what it's like to be tall? I love it!"
The two laughed and span around, almost crashing into Steve Rogers one time. Her cheeks were flushed and her concentration faltered, causing her ginger hair to fall into both her and the god's faces.
The experiment herself found that she really enjoyed the god's company. And she was quite saddened when the party fully started and she had to separate from him.
Nevertheless, she continued on, finally getting to listen to some music before she went over to Clint, spending the rest of the party with the rather tipsy man.
When the party finally ended, the Avengers plus a few others remained, sitting in the living space. Thor's hammer sat on the table, and they were having a debate.
"It's a trick!" Clint exclaimed, holding drumsticks in his hands, fortunately, Five had fallen asleep with her head rested on Thor's shoulder. He gently woke her up soon enough, however, to prove his point.
He stood, taking his hammer into his hand as he finished their argument.
"Yes, well that's, uhh— a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one. You're all not worthy."
They all made sounds of disagreement, before they were interrupted by a high-pitched screeching sound. Most clamped hands over their ears, Five included.
"Worthy... no... how could any of you be worthy? You're all killers!" A broken looking robot claimed, an oily substance dripping from the damaged thing.
"Stark." Steve warned, watching the robot intensely.
"JARVIS," Tony began, and the legion continued.
"I'm sorry. I was asleep... or— I was a... dream?"
"Reboot, Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit," Tony said, presumably to JARVIS, whilst tapping on his device.
"There was a terrible noise, and I was tangled in— in... strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." The robot carried on, his confession confusing many of the people left.
"You killed someone?" Steve asked, his eyebrows furrowed in worry and concern, though his expression and posture was still threatening.
"Wouldn't have been my first call, but in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices." The damaged robot informed them, which made Five even more puzzled.
"Who sent you?" Thor asked, ready to attack at any second.
"'I see a suit of armour around the world.'" It was a relayed recording of Tony's voice, which made most increasingly concerned, though it seemed to clear things up for Tony and Bruce.
"Ultron!" Bruce exclaimed, eyes wide as he realised.
"In the flesh," it announced. "Or no, not yet, not this... chrysalis. But I'm ready, and I'm on a mission."
"What mission?" It was Natasha, and the robot answered without hesitation.
"Peace in our time."
With that, other robots of the Legionnaire came bursting into the room, breaking and destroying things as they attacked.
Without thinking much, Five moulded a piece of light in her hands, before calling one of the team members.
"Clint!" She shouted, and he whipped his head to look at her. She tossed him the bow, constructed with her light powers, before a quiver was by his feet. He sent her a thankful nod, before he shot at all of the robots.
When she was grabbed from behind, she screamed in fright, a dagger of light created in sheer panic as she spun around, stabbing the robot repeatedly even when it was already unable to function any longer. She felt at the back of her neck, feeling a sharp sting and pulling away to show some slightly bloody fingers.
All of the bots were dead, well, the equivalent of dead for a robot. And they all turned back to Ultron.
"That was dramatic! I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to... evolve?" The newly created monster ranted before picking up a dismembered piece of robot arm, and tossing it away. "With these? These— puppets? There's only one way to peace; the Avengers' Extinction." As He finished, Thor swing his hammer and obliterated the evil robot, but it didn't end there.
"I had strings, but now I'm free. There are no strings on me, strings on me..."
The creepy robotic voice sung in a horrible way, one that sent shivers up the kid's spine.
