"You shut me out," Ultron stated with a groan, metal hands on his head, unaware of the plan that had already begun. "You think I care?" He asked, slamming Vision into the ground.
"You take away my world," he continued, placing his metal hand on the vibranium machine. "I take away yours."
Then, the ground began crumbling, a whirling sound being heard by few people as large cracks appeared around half of the city, breaking away from the ground.
Bricks tumbled down, water and rocks falling down too as part of the country began to float upwards, buildings being ripped apart, few people jumping to land on the steady ground.
Dust arose in clouds, looming over the destruction as bridges were split in half, falling.
"Friday." Tony said.
"Sokovia is going for a ride..." the AI system trailed off. Screams echoed throughout the rising city as civilians realised what was going on, many families huddling together, getting close to try and find some kind of comfort.
"Do you see the beauty of it?" Ultrons began, in various positions around the city, projecting his speech for all to hear. "The inevitability. You rise, only to fall." People we're scrambling around the city as the main Ultron floated high above.
"You, Avengers, are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the Earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me... It means nothing."
Hawkeye shot an arrow at one of the robots projecting the speech, successfully disabling it, only for another to replace it almost instantly.
"When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world... will be metal."
With those unsettling words, the city was completely off the ground, floating upwards to the sky.
A bright glow of light pulses in Five's hand, just waiting for her imagination to crate something with it, but she can't imagine anything, she can only think of her panic as the whole ground shakes, small pebbles jumping up and down.
"What is happening?" She called out, the panic in her chest rising as an Ultron flew to greet her. She yelped as it knocked her onto the ground, about to shoot a beam at her but was intercepted by an arrow into the head.
"Clint!" She shouted in relief, dashing over to his side.
Her mind flooded with ideas, the realisation that she is not alone, that she had people to help her, had caused her abilities to go haywire, a dagger forming in her hand as she looked down at it.
She let out a laugh as she threw it with slightly wobbly aim into the head of a robot, successfully disabling it. She smiled widely when she saw both hands pulsating even brighter than ever before, and she pushed them forwards, sending waves of light through people, buildings and robots, melting the robots and hearing their circuits and wires pop and crack.
"Wanda!" Five yelled, seeing doors slam open as Wanda stepped out, using her manipulation to rid the area of any robots that had survived.
Her eyes blazed their bright crimson as she ripped robots in half, dismembering them and disabling them. Five and Clint couldn't help but be amazed by her capabilities.
Before she could handle all of them, Clint shot two arrows into the heads of separate robots, whilst Five tossed multiple glowing daggers at them.
Wanda threw a ball of energy to a group of the baby-ultrons, and it exploded, slamming against the wall while the red seemed to leave a lasting residue in the air.
Wanda and Clint turned to each other, giving one another a nod. Wanda barely even seemed tired, considering all the robots she took out. In fact, she seemed more refreshed than anything.
The three gathered together, glancing around before Clint spoke into the comms, "Alright, we're all clear here."
There was an immediate response, it was Steve Rogers saying, "We are not clear!" And the clang of his shield against a baby-ultron. "We are very not clear!" The three could hear him fighting against the robots, whilst chatter and metal could be heard from around him.
"Alright, coming to you," Clint told him, and then a silvery-blue residue was seen, Pietro appearing and picking Wanda up, before spinning around and back into a run.
Not before leaving one last remark, however, "Keep up, old man!" He called to Clint, and then when Hawkeye himself turned to Five, she was gone, too. Only a mist left in her wake.
He let out a sigh, putting his bow and arrow up, aiming towards where Pietro had just been, saying, "Nobody would know. Nobody." He put the bow down, starting in a jog as he continued. "'The last I saw him, an ultron was sitting on him. Yeah, he'll be missed, that quick little bastard.'" He joked, though he was alone.
"'I miss him already!'"
Pietro ran with Wanda and Five to where the police force were firing rapidly at robots with their guns. He immediately placed them down, Wanda creating red energy in her hands and using it to destroy the robots.
The captain, Five presumed, held his hand up. "Hold your fire!" He shouted loudly, and the officers stopped shooting their firearms as they watched the small ginger girl slam her hands into the ground, feeling her own energy rise beneath robots, incinerating them as soon as they were touched by the light.
One officer didn't stop firing enough, and managed to land his bullet straight into Pietro's bicep. The speedster stopped running, looking down at the wound on his arm, where the shirt had ripped and his blood pooled slightly.
He saw one of the officer's eyes dart around wildly as he saw the enhanced man, and the bulletin wound inflicted on his bicep. Pietro held his arms out in a sort of 'what the hell' gesture.
As they continued fighting, Five faintly heard Steve and Tony talking in the comms.
They were talking about doing something along the lines of blowing up the city, but the idea was shot down almost immediately by Steve, so Natasha joined in.
"Cap, these people are going nowhere. If Stark finds a way to blow this rock..." she trailed off, but Steve interrupted.
"Not 'til everyone's safe." He told them in a stern voice, as if he was commanding his soldiers.
"Everyone up her versus everybody down there? There's no math there!" Natasha insisted, growing slightly frustrated at the man's insistence that could potentially endanger more people.
"I'm not leaving this rock with own civilian on it," he continued, glaring around him.
"I didn't say we should leave," Natasha claimed, and Steve turned to look at her. "There's worse ways to go. Where else am I gonna get a view like this?" She questioned with a sly smirk.
"Glad you like the view, Romanoff." The voice of Nick Fury chimed in, halting their conversation as they all viewed a Helicarrier rising a little bit away from the floating city. "Nice, right? I pulled her out of the mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do." They could all hear the smirk in his voice.
"Fury, you son of a bitch." Steve exclaimed as he gazed at the flying ships.
"Ooh, you kiss your mother with that mouth?" Fury questioned, humour in his tone as he referred to what they had all been teasing the old man about, the 'language!' incident.
Pietro grabbed Five, placing her on his back before climbing towards the edge of the city where they watched the Helicarriers deploy lifeboats to rescue civilians.
"This is S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Pietro questioned to no one in particular as he and Five had hints of smiles on their faces.
"This is what S.H.I.E.L.D. is supposed to be." Steve told him, a kind of disappointed look on his face as he thought of what the agency used to be.
Pietro's head tilted to the side. "This is not so bad," he acknowledged.
"Let's load 'em up." Steve commanded as the life boats floated their way to the edge, clamping onto the side of the city and securely allowing civilians to climb inside.
Five patted the side of Pietro's head, and he let her slowly slide off of his back to the floor, pulling up her long sleeves once again and preparing herself for helping people once again.
Though she wasn't prepared for what would happen in the process.
