John B, Y/n and Sarah all walked side by side, the Maybank girl being in-between them as her boyfriend tightly held her hand. The couple began explaining the plan to Sarah about the gold that John B had found in the well back at the Crain's residence. While the three walked together, Ward, all of a sudden, walks out of the house, facing them.
"Hey." Ward greets.
"Hey."
"Hello."
"Hi!"
The three of them greet back as they stopped in their tracks, hoping the man didn't hear anything about what they were talking about.
"What are you three plotting?" Ward asks.
"Uh..." John B stammers.
"The... usual stuff." Y/n replies, glancing at her boyfriend and friend.
"World domination." Sarah adds.
"That's my girl, always aiming high. It's gonna have to wait a day, though, cause I'm taking this kid fishing tomorrow morning. First light." Ward informs, looking to John B. "Just you and me."
"No, he can't tomorrow." Y/n objects.
"Why not?" Ward questions.
"Well, because we have plans." Y/n replies.
"Oh, really? What plans are those? Drive around in the boat all day?" Ward asks.
Y/n shakes her head. "No."
"Look, that boat needs a first mate, and you need to start earning your keep around here, alright?" Ward states, pointing at her boyfriend.
"Dad." Sarah starts.
"What? Sweetie, I'm kidding. He's new to the family. I just wanna take him fishing. Is that alright?" Ward questions.
Reluctantly, both girls nod their heads, sharing a glance as Ward looks to the Routledge boy. Slowly, John B nods his head in agreement, causing the man to pat his shoulder, a smile growing onto his face.
"It's gonna be good." Ward states.

Y/n and Sarah found themselves seated in the campervan with Kiara the next day, all three of them looking down at a sheet of paper with a drawing of the well in the Crain's house on the white sheet. The drawing had been done by Pope. The three began to laugh with one another at how the drawing of the well wasn't the best one they've seen.
After a couple minutes, JJ walks out, dropping the gold in front of the three girls, where Kie soon starts to melt it so they could pawn it. The others gathered around, watching as she worked. John B and Y/n sat side by side against a tree, the boy's arm wrapped around her as he placed kisses to her temple while she snuggled up against him.
Soon enough, the six all got into the campervan, making their way to the pawn shop. Once making it to their destination, all of them hop out, where John B grabs his girlfriend's hand as they listened to JJ complain about his part in the plan. He stops, however, when his sister pushes him inside, the others following in suit.
"Afternoon, ma'am." Y/n greets the shop keeper.
"Afternoon." The woman greets back.
The Maybank siblings walk to the front desk, silently exchanging a small look. Meanwhile, the other four teenagers all walk around, making sure to stick close by so they could hear the conversation between the three.
"I see you buy gold." JJ observes.
"That's what the sign say, don't it?" The woman fires back.
"Well, I sure hope you buy a lot of it, because we're about to blow your mind." JJ informs.
"I ain't got much mind left to blow, so have at it." The woman tells the brother.
Both the shop keeper and the youngest Maybank sibling watch as the oldest sibling swings his backpack off his shoulders, placing it on the counter of the desk, unzipping one of the pockets of the bag. Eventually, the blonde brings out the gold that they had found and places it in front of the woman.
"How about them gold apples?" JJ asks.
"That ain't real." The woman protests, chuckling to herself.
"That ain't real?" JJ repeats in question.
"It can't be." The woman argues.
"Feel how heavy it is." Y/n tries.
Glancing between the siblings, the shop keeper obeys the girl's request as she reaches forward, struggling to lift up the gold that she claimed for it to not be real. Finally, she was able to manage lifting it as it down laid on her palm. After hearing JJ suggest some light, the woman shines a flashlight down at the gold as if to see if it was real or not.
"Spray-painted tungsten." The woman says.
"Spray-painted tungsten?" JJ repeats. "Really? Okay."
"Why don't you see how soft it is?" Y/n suggests.
The shop keeper, once again, obeys the Maybank girl's request as she leans down towards a drawer beside her, grabbing a small hammer and a nail, then hitting away at the gold with them. Pulling away, she checks on the gold to see if she had done any damage. However, there wasn't even an indent on it.
"Wow. Would you look at that?" JJ says.
"Hold your horses. We ain't got to the acid test yet." The woman informs.
"Ooh! The acid test. My favorite, guys." JJ comments, glancing back at the others.
The woman reaches into the same drawer she grabbed the nail and hammer from, placing the said tools back inside as she now grabs a small bottle of liquid, twisting off the cap. Carefully, she places a tiny bit of acid on the gold, then watching if it does anything, but no reaction.
"Well, it ain't plated, and it ain't painted." The woman states.
"Ma'am, I'm telling you, this is as real as the day is long." JJ tells her.
"It looks like somebody tried to melt it down." The woman observes.
"Our mom." Y/n replies quickly, JJ looking to his sister. "She had all this jewelry laying around the house, and she thought it was best to melt it down. To "consolidate" it."
The shop keeper nods in understanding as she glances between the two siblings, seeing their faces were sad as they lied to her. Picking up the heavy gold, the woman walks towards a scale, placing it on top to weigh it. The scale jiggled slightly at the weight while a ping type of sound was heard when the metal objects made contact.
"Seven pounds? That's a lot of earrings." The woman comments.
"Okay, to be honest, ma'am," JJ begins, pulling his sister close to him by wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "it's really hard to see our mom fall apart with Alzheimer's."
"Give me a minute." The woman instructs.
"Take your time, ma'am." Y/n replies, making her voice sad so they story is more believable.
Glancing between the Maybank siblings, the woman walks out from her spot behind the counter, passing them and heading towards the back. They all wait only about a minute or so until the shop keeper walks back out, taking her original spot as she places some money in front of the siblings.
"So, I, uh... I talked to my boss. And this is what I can do." The woman informs.
"Fifty thousand?" JJ questions, scoffing. "You think we walked in here not knowing the spot price? Ma'am, I know for a fact this is worth 140, at least."
"Well, sweetie, you in a pawnshop." The woman reminds. "This ain't Zurich. Do I look Swiss to you?"
"Ninety, or we walk." JJ demands.
"Seventy. Half price and, um... I don't ask questions about where you got this." The woman insists.
The siblings quietly exchange a look before glancing to their left, looking right at John B as the boy meets their gazes. Both brother and sister watch as their best friend and boyfriend sticks out his thumb and pinky, silently telling them to go ahead and continue with the seventy the woman was giving.
"I'm gonna need that in large denominations, please." JJ tells the woman.
"Well, here's the snag." The woman starts. "I don't have that much denominated, not here anyway. I can write you a cashier's check."
"Cash... No, ma'am. I want the cold hard. That's what that sign says. Cash for gold. And that's what I expect. I'm gonna get it in cold hard." JJ instructs.
"Well, I have to send you to the warehouse. I have the money there. Is that alright?" The woman asks.
"Where's this warehouse?" Y/n questions.

Once they left the pawn shop after the shop keeper gave the Maybank siblings the direction on where to go, the group of six teenagers found themselves back in the campervan as John B drove. Y/n sat beside her boyfriend in the passenger's seat, occasionally looking out the window.
"So they keep money out here?" Pope asks.
"That's what she said." JJ replies, then laughing to himself. "That's what she said."
"Stop." Pope demands.
"I've never even heard of Resurrection Drive." Sarah informs.
"That's cause you're rich." JJ fires back.
"You've never heard of it either." Kie defends the Kook.
"Thank you." Sarah says.
"There's nothing but weeds back here." Y/n observes.
Just then, the sudden sound of a police siren rang through their ears, catching their attention as the six teenagers look over their shoulders, gazes landing on the car that was trailing behind the campervan. On top of the vehicle, red and blue lights continued to flicker, signaling that it was in fact the police.
"Cops? Out here?"
"God! Are you kidding me?"
"What did we do?"
"What's happening?"
"Why are we getting pulled over?"
"Chill, guys." Kie instructs.
"I hate cops." JJ mutters quietly.
"Did you bring the gun?" John B questions the oldest Maybank sibling.
"No. Okay? Everybody told me to leave it back at the place." JJ recalls.
Nodding in response, John B pulls the campervan to the side of the road as JJ fumbles with his bag and the gold, quickly shoving the gold inside his backpack before the police came over. Once it was hidden inside, the boy stands up, lifting up the seat he was sitting on and shoves it inside before seating himself back at his original spot.
The sound of a gun being cocked was heard, making everyone in the vehicle freeze as John B looked to his left, out the window, seeing the barrel of a gun pointed right at his face. On the other end, stood a man with a bandana covering the bottom half of his face to hide their identity, but it wasn't hard to know that the long, greasy black hair belonged to none other than Barry.
"Why don't I go ahead and see them hands in the air right now? All y'all's hands up in the air now! You, out of the car!" Barry demands. "Let's go!"
Y/n watches with tears in her eyes as her boyfriend slowly pushes the car door open, then hopping out of the van in a slow pace, making sure to have his hands raised the whole time as John B didn't want his girlfriend or friends to get shot at.
"Let them out!" Barry commands. "What are you waiting on? Let them out!"
Keeping his eyes on Barry, knowing the man could do anything with the shotgun in his grip, John B makes his way to the other side of the campervan, sliding the back door open for his friends and girlfriend. One by one, they all slowly walk out of the vehicle with their arms raised.
"Lay down in the ditch! On your goddamn hands and knees! Down! Put your face on the ground! Don't let me see you look up! Alright?" Barry shouts.
The group instantly obeyed as they got down on their knees, not wanting to be shot at by the man. Fear and panic coursed through their veins as Barry continued to yell at them. John B and JJ both looked over at Y/n, who was kneeled in-between John B and Sarah, holding her hand in her hands. Both boys wanted her to be safe and away from all this. Meanwhile, Barry leaves their side, heading into their vehicle as he begins searching for the gold they kept while also keeping an eye on the six.
"It's a setup, guys." Kie realizes.
"That old bat shanked us." JJ adds, hitting the ground below him.
Quietly sniffing to herself, Y/n slowly looks to her boyfriend, only to whimper out a quiet protest when she sees him slowly getting up to his feet. Hearing her whimpers, the others look over, joining her in stopping the boy. However, John B doesn't listen as he motions for them to be quiet, then quickly running inside Barry's car.
"Alright, y'all stay just like that. Unless you want your brains blown out all over this road, don't move your goddamn heads, okay?" Barry yells, exiting the van with the gold in his grip.
With that, the man runs off, hopping inside his vehicle. He doesn't make it far when John B, who hid in the backseat, attacked him, grabbing the gun from the man. The other five heard the commotion and stood up, rushing over as they all began to have their fair share with Barry. As that happened, Pope rushed to the other side of the car, grabbing the gold and announcing it to the others. When they finally finished beating up the man, John B leans down and rips the bandana off his face.
"I know this piece of shit! He's a basehead!" JJ informs.
"Probably knows my brother." Sarah adds.
"He sells coke to mine and Y/n's dad." JJ tells them.
"Listen, I couldn't hurt any single one of y'all--" Barry begins.
However, the man is interrupted when JJ hits him with the butt of his gun, making the others shout protest to the blonde. The boy ignores them as he leans down, digging through Barry's pocket before bringing out the man's wallet, then his I.D., which tells them the exact location on where he lives.
"We got one last stop." JJ informs.
"I'm gonna remember this shit! You can't hide from me!" Barry shouts at them.
The group of six all ignore his threats as they follow JJ towards the campervan, heading inside, to which they drive off, leaving the injured man and his threats to them behind.
