Zander's POV

Since Arielle left to go back to her motel I thought it would be a great time for me to go to my office and try to sort through a few things for the pack. Mostly all the things that Alpha Maxwell brought up in our meeting. I felt bad that I could not help a friend out but we were attacked as well and lost people. I need to protect my pack first. Zack still made my temper rise because he rose his voice at me, but I understood why he did it, His people were dying. I would have done the same thing in his situation.

After being in my office for a little over thirty minutes going over things that I will need to know, and trying to understand what is going on with the rogues they have never done this, attack my pack I mean. They only did a few years ago when my father was still Alpha of the pack. I stood up from my leather chair walking to the door opening it. I stepped out of it walking towards the living room. When I got closer to the living room I started to hear frantic voices.

Once I entered the room no one even noticed me seeing as they were all running around the room looking at things and getting things ready, Were we under attack again? I did not catch anything that they were saying as they passed me because they were talking way to fast for me to catch anything. When my eyes landed on the person that stood in the middle of the whole commotion I made eye contact with my Beta female Nella, she broke eye contact with me as she looked down at her phone that was in her hand with a face of pure sadness, her face was also paler than normal.

I thought that it was about time for me to know why everyone was running around like they got their heads cut off. I cleared my throat before talking loudly

"what the hell is going on in here?"

When everyone in the room heard my voice they halted in their steps turning their head to where I stood. But as I looked at each of them they all had one thing in common. . . None of them were looking at me in the face, let alone the eyes. Seeing this, made me know that there was something wrong. After a few more minutes of them just looking at me in complete silence I got annoyed so I decided to ask them again,

"I said what the hell is going on in here?"

After this time I got a few whimpers of fear from the girls that were in the room and Nella looked at me in the eyes before glancing down at her phone and than back up at me showing me that her eyes were now filled with tears and there were a few stray tears that rolled down her cheeks. Seeing my Beta Female like this started making Midnight move around in the back of my mind as he too was getting nervous, like he knew something that I did not know yet. I could hear him huffing and puffing at me and when I asked what was his problem he would growl at me.

"Alpha, something has happened to Arielle she--she--"

She couldn't even finish her sentence as the tears that she had in her eyes broke through the wall and fell freely down her face and a loud sob fell from her lips as she brought one of her hands up to cover her face. Seeing this I could feel myself move closer to where she was standing muttering

"What has happened to my mate Nella"

After saying that I could feel Midnight trying to gain full control of my body but I fought him down a little knowing that it would turn out very bad if I let him have full control.

"Arielle she called me and she said that her door had been open when she returned to her room. Than she said something about her father now working for the rogues. . . and--and than she said that he shot her twice and after that her phone cut out"

After I heard that I could not process the thought of my mate being dead. My Arielle could not be gone when I had just found her. I could hear the pained howls from the back of my head from Midnight as he heard the news. I could not stop my eyes from filling with tears, I quickly turned my back to everyone that was in the room with me not wanting them to see me cry. I felt a stray tear roll down my cheek. No pain that I have ever felt in my life felt like the way I am feeling right now at the thought of my mate being dead. At this point I knew that my eyes had gone completely black because in my weaken emotional state Midnight got control and I did not want to stop him from going on a rampage.

"Tell the others to meet me at her room now"

Once I said this Midnight and myself moved towards the door to take us outside so we could go to our mates motel room to see if our mate was there, if the worst had really came true. When I had my hand on the door nob and went to open it Nella's voice stopped me,

"But Alpha--"

Before she could even finish her complaint I felt myself spin around and look at everyone in the room with my pitch black eyes, earning myself some gasps turning to Nella giving her a full view of my eyes earning a sharp intake of breath from her

"NOW!"

At the sound of my voice and the black in my eyes I knew that she and everyone in the room would listen to what I said not just because I used my alpha tone but because they knew that if your wolf were to take full control bad things usually follow. I pulled the door open and walked to one of my cars getting into it and turning my key starting the engine. Once I pulled out of my drive way and started my way towards Arielle's motel the only thing I kept saying in my head was 'Please don't be dead' I do not think I would ever forgive myself if she died and I was no where near her to try and protect her.

-Skip to motel-

When I pulled into the motel and parked my car I threw open my car door running up to the second floor and towards where her room was. When I made it to her room, that I know because of reasons and not because I stalk her, I saw that the door was wide open and I could easily smell the defining scent of blood. I stopped myself right outside of her door leaning my head on the cool door frame closing my eyes as I felt more tears pool into my eyes knowing that I could be walking into the room that held my mate's corpse.

After a few moment of leaning against the wall I stood up straight again pushing open the door getting a huge breeze of vanilla and fresh strawberries mixed with the metallic scent of blood, making me shudder. I could feel Midnight fighting me for control again as he smelt our mates blood. I walked deeper into the room slowly as I looked around seeing a smashed microwave, my mates clothes were ripped and the thing that caught my eyes were the claw marks that were everywhere in the room.

My eyes landed on droplets of blood that led from the door all the way into the room. I followed the blood drops until I made it to a large puddle in the carpet of blood. I knew that this blood was my mate's blood by the scent of it. I fell to my knees not even caring that I was now in a puddle of blood, feeling it seep through my jeans. I felt my heart clench in pain as I laid my head on my hands that were on the blood puddle letting a sob pass my lips and a whimper pass through my lips as well, Midnight getting control for a second.

I could slowly feel the fight that I was having to stay in control against Midnight slowly becoming a loss as I felt my eyes turn black again. After a few more silent tears I could hear three pairs of feet come into the room, hearing hushed whispers about the room until they stood in from of me. Even though they stood in front of me I did not pull my head off of my hands.

"Oh My God"

Happens to be the thing to end the silence that was happening in the room right now. I knew that it had came from Nella's mouth. I could hear as the three of the shuffled around the room again until only one pair of feet were directly in from of me.

"Alpha, is--is That Luna Arielle's blood"

I knew that it was Alec asking this by the sound of his voice. After a few seconds of me not answering him I closed my eyes before I sat up straight where I was seated on my knees. After a few seconds of my just having my eyes closed I opened my eyes again knowing that my eyes were pitch black again before I looked at Alec right in the eyes. When he looked into my eyes to see that they were pure black I saw as he took a step away from me. I looked at his face as he looked at the other two in the room giving the some type of look. I looked at the other two to see that it was Mikel and Nella.

"Yes this is her blood."

After I told him that I pulled myself up from where I was seated. I went to go walk out the door but something caught my eyes, a piece of paper that from what I could see was written in really bad handwriting. I walked towards where the paper was and I picked it up letting my eyes scan over what the paper had said.

Hello Alpha Zander Black,

It has came to my attention that this world is a whole lot bigger than I could have ever imagined. I think it is truly amazing that there has been a whole other world that was right under our noses the whole time. I have also heard that you had the misfortune to have been paired with my daughter as your mate. I must say that I am truly sorry that you were stuck with her, I feel sorry that you had to be stuck with such a hideous women as your packs Luna. She is the one that took the women I loved away from me, her mother. She is a murderer.

I should have done what I am going to do to her so many years ago, I hope that you said your goodbyes to her the last time that you spoke to her because soon she will be dead and you will not get to say goodbye. But don't fret your pretty little alpha head we will be having some fun with her before we kill her. you know the type. . . I mean I got to let your enemies have a small bit of fun for helping me

I could practically feel my blood start to boil at what this man was telling me. I could feel as my body began to shake with the anger I felt at what I had just read on this letter and I started breathing in deep breaths. I placed the paper back where it was just at before I turned myself around and walked out of the door. I could hear as my name was being called by the others but I did not stop for anything because I could feel as Midnight took control and I did not want to fight him anymore. When I made it outside I ran towards the woods as I felt myself shift into my black wolf. Midnight took full control and I knew he was going to go on a rampage for his missing mate. I felt as Midnight lifted his head and let out a loud and long, pain filled howl into the sky.

Nella's POV (surprise)

Moments after Alpha had stormed out of Arielle's room I watched Alec move to where Zander had just been standing not even five minutes before. When Alec made it to where Zander had been which was in front of the dresser I watched as he picked up the sheet of paper that Zander had read but before he could lift it up to read we all heard a loud and pain filled howl that shook all the windows that were in the room we were in.

Hearing the painful howl I could feel my wolf in the back of my mind let out a howl in reply to her Alpha's howl, I knew that the others in our packs were most likely going through the same thing that we were with their wolves.

"This is not going to end well, did you see his eyes guys? They had been pitch black since he heard the news of Luna. If he lets his wolf have full control--"

Before I could finish what I was saying I was interrupted by the third in command Mikel.

"Let's hope that he doesn't do that Nella. We know what happens when werewolves let their wolf have full control when they are angry. What does the letter say Alec?"

When Mikel changed the subject to the letter I turned my head to look where my mate was standing to see his eyes scanning over everything that was on the paper in his hand. When I saw as his eyes finished it his eyes looked up at me before he place the paper back onto the dresser,

"It say nothing good that is for damn sure"

I side steeped the puddle of our Luna's blood before I sat down on her tattered bed. I looked at the blood with a sad look on my face, all I could do was pray to the Moon Goddess now that our Luna would be okay and that she would return to us safe and sound and in one piece.
