❝ FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN DESTINY, one could say that no matter what you do, you'll always end up exactly where you're meant to be. For a coven deep in the Brazilian rainforest, the White Lotus had their own destiny; a faith they breed and died for. Following the events that caused K'uk'ulkan to lead his people into the sea and building an empire on the ocean floor, generations of Talokanil were raised to worship the waters he walked on. Yet, as time caught up, as it always does, a select few of Namor's people began to have ideologies of their own, believing their destiny was greater than his monarchy.

THEY wished to breathe the air he did, explore the world's ever growing changes. Naiá and Amon being the first ones to ever break away from K'uk'ulkan; right under his nose. Remember their names, for they are the first brick placed in this tall tale. In secret they chose to worship the Goddess of the Moon, Jaci. Their devotion to this Goddess sent both of them on a path the Talokanil dared never to go. The surface.

WHILE Naiá and Amon knew they couldn't breathe oxygen, they carried themselves out of the water and crawled the vines of an ancient island. With faith, they pulled each other up as far as they could go; up to the mountain top, in hopes to grasp the moon in prayer to the Goddess' name; begging her to bless them with a better life.

WITH one last breath, Naiá and Amon died on the mountain, in each other's arms. Jaci was so moved by Naiá and Amon's act of faith, that she shifted the phases of the moon, eloping Earth's sky in a rich blood moon. With the blood moon at its peak, Jaci rose Naiá and Amon from the dead, gifting them mother nature's magic. With this, came the ability to breathe air and lead a new life. Naiá and Amon were granted a second chance.

JACI only had one rule. For she is the Goddess of peace and justice, protector of the animals, plants and the moonlight. For she does not face War in the eye, only an observer who swore never to spill blood. And so, Naiá and Amon must live this way, or the consequence would cause disaster. Take no life, for the path to heaven is a steady hand and a strong heart. While a dire rule, Naiá and Amon knew that Jaci saw all, and so they promised never to kill, only to worship.

THEY'D settle down in the Brazilian Rainforest, converting lost Talokan and curious wanderers to Jaci's faith as a White Lotus, sharing their abilities among believers and peacemakers. Thus, beginning a generational tradition, mutation in genetics, creating new ways of life, using their gifts to protect their faith. With Naiá's inevitable death in later years, Amon created a new system for a new Chief to lead the coven. An oath must be taken, to protect their people as fiercely as Naiá faith; by climbing the vines to the mountain top, taking your last breath, and becoming reborn under a blood moon. If Jaci chooses you, you will awaken new, gaining the sight.

THERE was no escaping this destiny, especially not if Naiá's and Amon's blood ran through your veins. Throughout the years, countless of tyrants and rouge witches desperate for power, have tried to find the White Lotus, conquer their lands and steal their power and riches. The American Government seemed most eager, sending troops daily to try and find their thriving kingdom; to understand what gave their people the abilities no man-made serum could accomplish.

WHEN the newest Chief of the White Lotus and King T'Chaka struck a deal to protect each other's borders. Wakanda and Tainara's coven had become impenetrable. Which brought on an important question: Why did young Kaolani - princess and direct descendant of Naiá and Amon; leave? What made her run away from her destiny?

THE answer was simple. When Kaolani's sister, Vera, goes missing in the States, Lani's path on finding her goes quick on HYDRA radar, promising to uncover information on Vera whereabouts, in exchanged for her help on a mission in Brazil. All she had to do was retrieve stolen technology. From there, they'd be enthralled to help in her search.

YET there was no such thing as being equals with HYDRA; and if Lani had been familiar with their tricks she wouldn't have allowed herself to be so deceived by the snakes in the garden. Still, desperate times call for even desperate measures, and now Kaolani was in deep trouble with nowhere to run. Her destiny as a protector becoming twisted into something drenched in red. ❞
