SUMMARY:

Y/n has always heard stories of how her mother and father met, the same way how her best friend's father and mother met. She always knew that her mother and Shang's mother were best friends, almost like sisters, and came across their fathers one day. It was love at first sight for her father.

When she was quite young, her mother had died when she was about toddler age and it crushed her father. That left her best friend's parents to watch her as her father would drink his worries away until he was found on the floor in the middle of the room, his heart not beating and no breath coming out.

Over the years, Y/n found love with the boy she always considered her best friend. After his mother died, his father completely changed and it made Y/n and Shang keep their love a secret to show they were focusing on what he wanted and training to be fighters like he wanted.

Much to their luck, when they left and were able to escape, or so they thought, they were able to express their love to one another publicly. Years later as adults, they work together with their best friend when their past comes back to haunt them.
