CHAPTER SEVENTEEN:

"HE'S ALL I HAVE."

Minutes and minutes had gone by as the three girls got Finn back up on the small bed-like object they had in the dropship. Clarke had decided she'd be the one to sew the Collins boy's wound together, thinking her sister needed a break after doing all the work from before.

Raven and Y/n stood by the blonde's side, a wet cloth in the brunette's hand, occasionally patting her best friend's head. The boy had gone unconscious again due to the wound making him rather tired during all the commotion that happened after he woke up mid-way of Y/n taking out the knife.

"Okay. I'm done." Clarke announces.

"Good. Do you have anything to cover the wound?" Abby's voice questions from the radio.

Clarke shakes her head, glancing at her sister. "We'll make do, like always."

Raven places a hand on Finn's forehead. "Should he be this pale? Warm, too."

"He's lost a lot of blood, Raven, but if your best friend's anywhere near as tough as you, I'm sure he'll be fine." Abby assures, making the said girl smile.

Slowly, Y/n places a hand on Finn's chest. "Wait, mom, she's right. He's feverish, and his breathing's uneven."

"You need to give him some time to recover. Let me know if he gets any worse, but I think-- I think he might just be out of the woods." Abby replies.

"Well, down here, there's nothing but woods." Y/n quietly retorts, letting out a breath. "I need a break."

Clarke nods. "Me, too."

"Y/n? Clarke? Girls, wait." Abby tries. "Raven... Could you give the three of us a few minutes?"

"Sure."

"No."

All three girls spoke at the same time, Raven being the one to agree and the sisters being the one to protest. Raven glances between the two with a curious expression, wondering what was going on with the mother and daughters.

Clarke shakes her head. "No. Stay with Finn."

And with that, the blonde walks off in one direction, Y/n going in another. The e/c eyed girl finds herself climbing up into the room where Bellamy, his goons and the grounder were at. Once fully up, she finds herself being stopped by a boy.

"Get the hell out of my way." Y/n demands.

"It's okay. Let her through." Bellamy instructs.

The boy moves to the side, all of them staring at her as they watch her look at the grounder who had been beaten up by Bellamy, blood laying almost all over his face and sweat coating his forehead and body.

With wide eyes, Y/n looks at Bellamy. "Well, if he didn't hate us before, he does now."

"Who cares?" Bellamy replies as he grabs her arm, pulling her away from the others. "How's Finn?"

Y/n shrugs his hand off. "Alive. His people will care. How long until they figure out where he is? And what happens when they do? I mean, when they come looking for him? They will, Bellamy."

"Relax, princess. No one saw us take him. He was chained up in that cave the entire time, and thanks to the storm, we didn't see a soul on the way back." Bellamy explains just as the dropship shakes again. The boy begins to open up a notebook in his hands. "Okay. In case you missed it, his people are already killing us."

Y/n gently takes the notebook from his hands, seeing a drawing of their camp on one page and markings on the other, ten of them crossed out. The exact same number of people they've lost since they first came down.

"How many more of our people need to die until you and the other princess realize we're fighting a war?" Bellamy asks.

Y/n closes the book, shaking her head. "We're not soldiers, Bellamy. Look at him. We can't win."

Bellamy nods. "You're right. We can't. If we don't fight."

"Y/n, Clarke, he's seizing!" Raven's muffled voice shouts out loud.

Immediately, Y/n runs towards the ladder, leaving Bellamy inside the room as she climbs down, soon meeting up with her sister. The two were quick to make their way into the room where Raven was, seeing Finn shaking vigoursly. The two rush over, passing Raven on their way.

"He was fine, then--" Raven starts.

"Get our mother on the radio now." Clarke orders, but Raven just stands there. "Raven, now!"

"The radio's dead! Interference from the storm." Raven informs as she stops beside the girls, staring down at her best friend. "Please don't let him die."

Neither of the sisters reply as they both kept a grip on Finn's shoulders, trying any way to get him to stop seizing. Soon enough, he does but foam starts forming in his mouth.

"Okay. It stopped. Quick, help us get him on his side." Clarke instructs.

Raven didn't do anything as she stood there in shock, staring down at her best friend, praying to god he wasn't gonna die. He was the only family she had left.

"Raven, there is fluid in his lungs! He could choke! Quick." Y/n exclaims, snapping the girl out of her thoughts.

Being quick enough, Raven gently helps the sister push her best friend onto his side, being careful of his wound.

Y/n places a hand on the boy's forehead. "He's burning up."

"Fluid in his lungs." Raven repeats Y/n's previous words. "Does that mean the knife hit something?"

Clarke shakes her head, exchanging a curious glance with her sister. "This isn't blood. It's something else. We did-- We did everything she told you." The blonde glances at her sister. "You did everything she told you."

"We've seen this before." Y/n whispers, giving her sister a knowing look. "Shortness of breath. Fever. Seizing."

"It's poison." Clarke realizes.

"Y/n, Clarke, you guys both sterilized everything. I watched you two do it." Raven reminds.

The sisters gazes land on the knife that had been lodged into Finn not even an hour ago. With knowing expressions, they glance at one another. All while Raven watches their interaction with a curious expression.

"Not everything." Clarke murmurs in reply, walking over and grabbing the knife. "Stay here."

The sisters climb up the ladder, finding themselves in the room full of teenagers. The blonde goes first up the ladder towards the hatch.

"Clarke. Y/n." A familiar voice calls out, the two watching as Octavia walks towards them. "They locked the hatch."

Not giving up, however, Clarke climbs the rest of the way up, pounding her fist on the hatch. After a few seconds, it opens, revealing Miller crouched by the ladder. After getting him out of her way, the blonde climbs up into the room, Y/n and Octavia trailing behind her.

Grabbing the knife from her sister, Y/n stops to the grounder, holding it up. "What's on this?"

All she wanted was for Finn to be okay. To be alive. She may have denied her feelings for him to his face, but she knew deep inside they were there. And so did Clarke, and Raven.

"What are you talking about?" Bellamy questions.

"He poisoned the blade." Clarke reveals.

"All this time, you knew Finn was gonna die no matter what we did. What is it? Is there an antidote?" Y/n yells.

"Y/n, he doesn't understand you." Octavia informs.

"Vials." Bellamy says suddenly as he picks up some vials. "It's gotta be here."

Y/n tosses the knife as her and Clarke start helping him search, ignoring everyone's stares on them.

"You'd have to be stupid to have a poison around this long without an anitdote." Clarke murmurs as they search.

"Which one?" Y/n asks the grounder, not getting a response.

"Answer the question!" Bellamy exclaims.

"Show us. Please." Octavia pleads.

"Which one?" Clarke questions.

"Our friend is dying down there and you can stop that!" Y/n yells in a pleading tone, but there was still no response.

"I'll get him to talk." Bellamy assures, walking forward.

Octavia, however, grabs his arm when he goes to swing it. "Bellamy, no."

"He wants Finn to die! Why can't you see that?" Bellamy shouts at her, glancing at the sisters. "Do you both want him to live or not?"

"Y/n, you even said it yourself. This is not who we are!" Octavia reminds. "He was protecting me. He saved my life."

"We're talking about Finn's life." Bellamy intervenes.

After a few seconds, the sisters nod. "Do it."

As Octavia takes a step towards the grounder, only to be pulled back by the boys in the room, Bellamy walks away from them and towards a seat in the dropship, using a knife he had to cut off the seatbelt, placing it over his shoulder before heading to the grounder, using the blades to cut off the grounder's shirt.

"You're gonna show us the antidote or you're gonna wish you had." Bellamy threatens.

When the grounder's shirt was off and he got a nod from the Griffin sisters, Bellamy uses the seatbelt and whips the grounder, the metal piece meeting the grounder's torso, making him grunt. Bellamy ignores his sister's protests as he does it again just before Y/n separates the vials while kneeling in front of the grounder.

"Please. Which one's the antidote?" Y/n asks, still not getting an answer.

"Just tell them." Octavia pleads.

As he still doesn't respond, Bellamy steps forward, resting a hand on the e/c eyed girl's shoulder before she rises up to her feet, walking to the side and stopping beside her sister who grabs her hand. Octavia held tears in her blue eyes as she watched her brother continue to torture the grounder that had saved her life.

"Y/n! Clarke! He's getting worse!" Raven's voice yells from below.

Clarke runs in front of the grounder, Y/n following. "We're running out of time. Which one? Which one is it?"

"If you tell us, they'll stop." Y/n adds. "Please tell us which is the antidote and they'll stop this."

In anger, Bellamy throws the seatbelt to the ground, making the grounder flinch as he, once again, didn't answer to their questions. Bending down, the oldest Blake sibling grabs a knife-like weapon.

"Is that doesn't work, maybe this will. Clarke, Y/n, you two don't have to be here for this." Bellamy tells the sisters.

After sharing a look, Clarke shakes her head. "Neither of us are leaving until we get that antidote."

Holding up the weapon, Bellamy stops in front of the grounder. "Last chance."

After not getting any word out of him, Bellamy stabs the blade into the grounder's palm, causing the Griffin sisters and Octavia to look away slightly. The grounder's hand shook vigoursly as Bellamy left the blade deep in-between his skin.

"What's taking so long?" Raven's voice questions as she climbs into the room. "He stopped breathing."

"What?" Y/n exclaims, going to walk past her but she stops her.

"He started again, but next time, he might not." Raven tells them.

Clarke motions to the grounder. "He won't tell us anything."

"Want to bet?" Raven asks, walking to some wires and pulling them out.

"What are you doing?" Bellamy questions.

"Showing him something new." Raven replies.

All the teenagers standing in the room watch as she brings electricity to the wires before pressing them against the grounder's chest, causing screams to escape from his throat. The whole time, he had been trying to step away from her in fear. Eventually, Raven pulls away.

"Which one is it?" Raven asks. When he doesn't say anything, she electrocutes him again. "Come on! He's all I have."

"No more!" Octavia shouts suddenly, holding the knife that had poisoned Finn.

"He's letting Finn die!" Raven reminds.

Everyone watches as the youngest Blake sibling holds up her arm, using the blade and cutting her arm, blood dripping out. At the sight of her actions, the grounder tries to get free of the ropes, letting out a small gasp.

"Octavia, no!" Bellamy exclaims.

"He won't let me die." Octavia whispers.

"Octavia, what the hell did you--" Bellamy begins.

However, Octavia stops himself as she pushes past her brother, kneeling in front of the grounder. She points at one, but he shakes his head. Once she pointed at another, he juts his head to a vial at the very end.

When getting confirmation that this was the antidote, the Blake girl quickly hands to Clarke, to which the blonde, Y/n and Raven all quickly rush down the ladder and back where Finn was at, hoping he was still alive. When they made it in the same room, Finn was, fortunately, breathing as Clarke carefully got some of the antidote down his throat.

"How do we know if it works?" Raven questions.

"We'll know when he wakes up." Clarke replies.

"He'll need water when he does." Y/n adds. "Do you mind?"

Raven nods a little. "Sure."

"Here, I'll help you." Clarke quietly tells her sister.

The e/c eyed girl nods, watching as both Raven and Clarke left the room, climbing up the ladder. Once they left, sobs and tears immediately left the Griffin girl as she stared down at the boy she deeply cares for. Trying to muffle her sobs, she gently rests her head on his shoulder.

"I can't do this without you." Y/n sobs to the boy as if he could hear her.

"Hello? Clarke? Y/n? Can you girls hear me?" Abby's voice suddenly comes through the radio.

Holding back her sobs, Y/n wipes the tears from her cheeks. "I'm here, mom."

"Oh, thank God." She hears Abby whisper in relief. "Where's Clarke?"

"She, uh... She went to go get some water with Raven for Finn." Y/n informs.

"Okay. The-- The storm is passing. How's Finn doing?" Abby asks.

Y/n feels her lip quiver as she looks down at the boy. "I think he'll be okay."

"Oh, that's thanks to you and Clarke. I'm so proud of you both. I wish Clarke was here to hear this as well, but your father would be so proud of you both, too." Abby tells her.

Standing up, Y/n walks closer to the radio. "Don't talk about him."

"Y/n... Baby, I know something else is wrong. Please tell me what it is." Abby pleads.

"Dad's dead because of you." A voice calls out.

Glancing over her shoulder, Y/n watches as her sister climbs down the ladder, stopping beside the younger sibling. The blonde had heard the conversation before she felt like she had to step in.

"You turned him in. We know it. Wells told us everything before he--" Clarke continues, cutting herself off as she began to sob. "He let us believe that he did it, so that we'd hate him instead of you."

"Clarke... Y/n... I want you both to listen to me. That was never supposed to happen. Jaha was supposed to talk him out of it." Abby tries.

"We're done talking to you!" Y/n yells, slamming the radio off.

The sisters continue to sob as they wrap their arms around one another, not caring if anyone saw them like this. All they needed was each other at the moment.
