CHAPTER TWO:

"YOU'RE OKAY."

The Ark was down and on earth. They revealed themselves to some of the teenagers, two of them being the leaders of the camp. Tristan laid dead on the ground, two gunshot wounds lodged into his body. One in his head, the other in his chest. Men from the Ark stood all around, guns in hand as they watched Kane kneel down beside the lifeless grounder as if to make sure he was dead. Turning him around to bring his face upwards, Kane nodded to the men behind him upon seeing the hole that was in Tristan's head.

As a whistle was heard throughout the forest from someone on the Ark, Finn rose to his feet, his hand around Y/n's arm as he brought her up with him. Both turned to Bellamy who slowly got up from his feet. Their wrists were now untied and Y/n took notice of hers and Finn's wrists, seeing the blood and dirt and cuts all around their skin as they had been tied together for a few hours now since Tristan found them and they had dispersed from Bellamy earlier on. Glancing away from her dirty and cut up hands, the Griffin girl looks upwards at all the adults that were revealing themselves from out of the trees.

As she scanned through them, hoping to see any familiar faces of her mother's friends, her eyes widened upon seeing the face she didn't expect to see at all. Last she recalled, she had died on the Exodus ship when it came down. Abby Griffin's eyes immediately snapped to her daughter's when her and the others had began to walk out from where they were hiding. The speed in her steps were fast, the bag over her shoulder being dropped to the dirty ground without a care as her eyes were on her daughter.

"Mom?" Y/n mumbles.

Stepping away from Finn and Bellamy, the e/c eyed girl ventured to her mom before they had met halfway. Abby wrapped her arms tight around one of her daughters, a sigh of relief leaving her past her lips as she clutched the back of her daughter's head. Pulling away just a bit, Abby's hands came up to the girl's cheeks, wiping away the tears that continued to fall onto the dirt and blood on her face. The woman moved the bits of strands that were sticking to her daughter's face because of the sweat and the dried blood, some of her strands of h/c hair being hard from it. Finn couldn't help but smile a bit as he watched the interaction.

"You're okay." Abby whispers to her daughter, seeming to be saying it to herself for confirmation that the girl was alright. It was then that she noticed her other daughter's presence wasn't here. "Where's Clarke? She's not with you?"

"She should be back at the dropship. Her and a few others were able to hide out in there." Y/n informs.

"We should get back to the dropship." Finn calls.

Nodding in agreement, as they began to walk in the direction, Abby keeping her daughter close, Kane stopped them, calling out for Sinclair. The two men spoke to one another quietly where Y/n heard the mention of Chancellor Thelonious Jaha who she had just taken notice he wasn't around. When they finished, the group, along with a few others, were off in the direction of their camp, the teenagers leading the way.

As they got closer and closer to the camp, they were soon stopping by some logs, dead bodies of the campers that didn't survive laying all around. One was pinned to the trunk of a tree by a knife lodged into the boy's chest. Bellamy, Finn and Kane were in the front with Abby and Y/n right behind them. Abby had an arm around her daughter's shoulders as them and the others all glanced around.

"It's too quiet." Bellamy points out.

Just as he goes forward, Kane stops him. "We'll take it from here. Banks, Scanlon, you stay with them. We'll signal once we're sure it's safe."

Giving her daughter's a squeeze on her shoulder, Abby follows behind Kane with a few others while the two men Kane instructed to stay with the three stayed by a tree. Finn glances at Y/n, reaching out and grabbing her hand to which she intertwines their fingers together. For a couple minutes, the three were impatiently waiting for the signal to come into their camp that they had made. Y/n tensed up at the call of someone needing a stretcher, wondering who in the camp it could possibly be for.

The three stepped forward, ready to go past Banks and Scanlon but they pushed them back, their hands out while they kept them back. The campers looked at each other, Bellamy nodding at Finn and Y/n and the next thing the two men knew, Y/n and Finn were sprinting off with Bellamy right behind them, ignoring their shouts. Going through some bushes, the three were able to get through one of the tunnels they had created and inside their camp.

They all stopped at the sight of it. Ash and bone laid everywhere. The grounders had been fried, most likely from the plan Clarke had made with Raven way before. The grass couldn't even be seen anymore as it was now covered in ash. No Clarke, no Jasper, no Raven, no Miller. No one was in sight. The dropship doors were open, unlike what Y/n had last seen before she was knocked out by a grounder.

"Where is everyone?" Y/n murmurs in question.

Hearing the sound of grunting and a familiar voice speak out, the three snap their heads as they ventured further into their camp. Kane was coming out of the dropship, helping a familiar blue eyed boy, his leg dragging behind him. John Murphy was explaining to the older man of what happened, or at least what he had seen when the grounders had captured him when the fight against them was going on.

His back was hunched as Kane held him up so he wouldn't fall. Y/n took notice of how he clutched his leg as he dragged it behind him. Blood, dirt, mud and sweat laid all over his face just like her, Finn and Bellamy's faces. One of the brunette's arms were around Kane's shoulders as they ventured forward. Murphy stopped speaking as his eyes turned to their direction, widening a bit upon seeing Bellamy was closer to him than Finn and Y/n. The Blake boy had been slowly walking over, and both Y/n and Finn knew what was about to happen.

"Bellamy. You're... You're alive." Murphy comments, his voice sounding disappointed at this fact.

The next thing they all knew, Bellamy lunged at the brunette and was able to pin him to the ground, his hands around his throat. Retracting a hand, the Blake boy sent punches to Murphy's face until one of the guards from the Ark walked forward, a weapon in hand as he tased Bellamy after Kane ordered him to. The older boy fell off Murphy and beside him, shaking a bit from the impact that was sent through his body.

"Place him under arrest." Kane orders to which two guards grab ahold of Bellamy.

Finn steps forward, shaking his head. "Wait. You don't understand. Murphy murdered two of our people. He shot another one. He tried to hang Bellamy."

"I don't care. You are not animals. There are rules. Laws. You are not in control here anymore." Kane explains, glancing between the two leaders.

Just then, two guards exited the dropship, a stretcher in their hands. Finn stepped forward upon seeing his best friend laying on the stretcher, unconscious. Y/n followed as the guards stopped, letting them see her. Raven Reyes skin was pale as her eyes were shut closed. Blood from her gunshot wound could be seen on her hands and through her shirt as it seeped through the cotton.

"She's lost a lot of blood. It's a miracle that she's still alive." Abby states.

It was then that Y/n took notice of the familiar pair of goggles around Raven's arm. Jasper Jordan's goggles. With pleading and hopeful eyes, Y/n looks to her mother, silently asking if anyone else was inside the dropship. If her sister was inside the dropship like she had been hoping she would be.

Abby shakes her head with a frown. "There's no one else in there."

As the older woman led two guards to place Raven down somewhere, Y/n rushed inside the dropship, hearing Finn follow close behind her. The girl stops in her tracks when she pushes past the curtains, seeing no one in sight, only a few guards inside. Finn walks up behind her and wraps his arms around her, holding her close to him.

A little while had gone by and Bellamy had handcuffs on his wrists as he sat by himself in one corner of the camp. The guards were around him, Kane included, but their backs were turned to the Blake boy so they didn't see Y/n and Finn jogging up to him. At the sound of their footsteps, Bellamy looks up and sees his friends.

"We're leaving." Finn announces quietly.

Bellamy furrows his brows. "What? This is where they'll come back."

"I don't think they're coming back. The grounders took them and you know that." Y/n states to which he looks down.

"Look..." Finn begins, crouching down. "We go with Kane to Alpha station, we get reinforcements, weapons..."

"...then we find our friends." Y/n finishes, also crouching.

"One question. How many more of us will be dead by then?" Bellamy asks.

Not responding right away, Y/n looks to Finn who looks over his shoulder where his best friend still laid unconscious on the stretcher. One of the guards from the Ark were kneeling by her head as they gently pressed a damp cloth to her sweaty forehead.

"Abby says Raven needs surgery or she's gonna die." Finn informs, looking back at them. "It's time to go."

With that, they stand up, Finn going to Raven while Y/n ventured to her mother who was carving a message for her other daughter on the dropship. Kane announces they were leaving as a guard grabbed ahold of Bellamy, most of them already out the camp. Y/n glances over at her friend, seeing Bellamy looking over at her direction with a frown.

Her sad eyes meet his before he was led out of the camp, their eye contact breaking. Eventually, Abby walks towards her daughter, giving her a small smile as she wraps her arm around her shoulders as they trail behind the group. Y/n takes one last glance at the camp she lived in for the past few weeks before stepping out into the forest with her mother.
