CHAPTER FOUR:
"YOU'RE ONE OF THEM."
It was bright out, the chirps of birds and crickets being heard all around, adding to the many chatter all around the plenty of different camps all around earth as the noises of the animals in all the different types of forests that had been made throughout the years could be heard as well.
The buzzes of insects filled everyone's ears when the said insects flew past them, the buzzing noise startling the civilians every so often when they heard the flying bugs right next to them before swatting them away with their hands before going back to the jobs they were assigned to do in peace as the children in the camps ran around, laughter echoing from them as they played the games they all agreed to play together, some occasionally stopping when their parents called out to them.
Only a few days had gone by since Nyko had made his destination to Arkadia and had been able to be healed by Abby in Mount Weather and later on that day, the same group Y/n, Octavia and Bellamy had found themselves with had came back to the camp with an injured Bellamy.
Y/n remembers going to see her good friend when the stab wound on his leg had been finished getting bandaged, remembering how he told her he had seen her sister, remembering how he had rested his hand on hers when she tensed up at the mention of Clarke Griffin and gave her smaller hand a small squeeze.
As of now, a certain group found themselves inside a jeep as they were soon parking outside of Mount Weather, a place that had been a hospital-like place to the people of Arkadia where the doctors could heal their patients better. When the vehicle stopped outside of the mountain that gave them nightmares, the front doors were opening as Bellamy and Raven hopped out while the back door opened.
Octavia was the first to get out, followed by Gina, Bellamy's girlfriend, and then Y/n being the last one. Bellamy took a glance at the Griffin girl, remembering she had been so silent ever since he had told her he found her sister and he watched as she walked past him with Octavia and Raven.
Octavia sighs, glancing at her best friend. "I knew we should've taken our horses."
Y/n could only nod in agreement as she kept silent. Bellamy had stopped just a few feet away as his dark eyes stared out in the distance, Gina having soon joined beside him. Earlier in the day, Kane and Abby had gone out to Polis, where Trikru lived, to speak to the commander. Eventually, the couple had joined the three girls to carry the bags from the back and into the mountain as Raven had begun to explain the story of how she had saved Jacapo Sinclair, the chief engineer, back on the Ark.
Only Gina seemed to be the one listening as she made comments in between the story while they walked inside and soon through the halls of Mount Weather. Soon enough, they stopped outside the main room where music had been echoing from inside as many people sat, happily speaking with one another. Charles Pike, a teacher back on the Ark, had been the first to notice them while standing up to his feet, calling out to them as he shook Bellamy's hand.
"Someone's made themselves at home." Raven murmurs.
"There must be thirty of them in here." Y/n comments.
"Thirty-six, but the more, the merrier." Pike replies with a chuckle.
Octavia raises a brow. "Thirty-six? Wow. The grounders are gonna think we moved in."
"Well, there was no room at the inn." Pike tells her, seeming to ignore the tone in her voice.
"And this is your option?" Octavia asks.
"O." Bellamy calls out in a warning tone.
With a displeased expression on her face, Octavia turns around and hands the bags she was carrying to Raven and Y/n before stomping out of the room, leaving them in an awkward silence. Soon enough, they were moving around and placing the bags down when Y/n noticed Bellamy left the room, most likely going to find his sister. Y/n found herself moving around with Gina and helping out, a frown etched on her face as she knew if the grounders found their people in here, they wouldn't like it and just like Octavia, she didn't like it either.
She avoided speaking to anyone, noticing how Pike had taken a glance at her, a look of recognition etched onto his face as his eyes seemed to examine her a bit and by the look on his face, she knew he recognized her when he caught sight of her face. Both her and Clarke had been students of his, considering she didn't have to hide from the Ark for being a second child like Octavia did. After a couple minutes, the said Blake girl was walking into the room with Bellamy and a grounder with her, a grounder from Ice Nation.
Furrowed brows, the Griffin girl ventures over to her best friend, giving her a curious look as she took a glance at the grounder, a grounder that Pike had noticed as well. Y/n only listened as she kept her eyes on the girl while Octavia told her that she knew Bellamy from being trapped with the many other grounders in Mount Weather and that her name was Echo.
Echo had been sat down into a chair near a table as Pike and Bellamy stood across from her, the older man having his hands rested on the surface as he held a slight displeased look at the sight of a grounder while Y/n and Octavia were a bit behind them, keeping their eyes sharp as they listened in on the conversation.
"I was with the queen's army heading toward Polis. The war chief talks too loud." Echo tells them.
Pike raises a brow. "You're one of them, so why are you telling us this?"
"We abandoned Skaikru in the battle for the mountain. It was wrong." Echo states, glancing at Bellamy.
"And won't they miss you?" Pike questions.
Echo shrugs. "Maybe. That's why we need to hurry."
"Pike, she saved my life. We can trust her." Bellamy informs. "Listen up. If we wanna get to Polis before the attack, we have to move."
"Attack?" Sinclair repeats in question. "Do we have confirmation of that?"
"We radioed, but no answer." Bellamy replies.
"They may already be dead, for all we know, and if they are, we need to be ready to respond." Pike argues.
Sinclair sighs. "Don't make this about the missiles."
"This is about survival. We don't have the numbers, but the missiles in this mountain even the playing field, and you know I'm right." Pike fires back.
"Even if I did agree with you, we still don't have the launch codes." Sinclair tells him.
"No, but we have me." Raven speaks up.
Sinclair steps forward. "And you accuse engineers of arrogance?"
Raven shrugs. "I'm growing as a person."
And with that, she turns around and walks off as Pike leans down, grabbing ahold of Echo's arm, his grip looking a bit rough that Y/n took notice of, before he was dragging her off with him as they prepared to leave.
Joining back to Octavia's side, they found themselves waiting for Bellamy, who was bidding his goodbye's to Gina as she gave him a long peck on the lips before he was joining them and they were heading out of Mount Weather to go and make their way to Polis.
