"We would like to thank you two immensely for helping us to catch this culprit."

Officer Jeon firmly shook both Namjoon and Lindsay's hands while Jimin barked a range of orders to the crew of police officers gathered around the assaulter and secured both his wrists in a pair of metal cuffs.

Lindsay only nodded in response as she kept her head down low, not daring to meet the glowering gaze of the assaulter as he was taken away, cursing and writhing in fury. She took a deep breath in and exhaled, trying to calm her shaken nerves as her mind tried to process the terrifying night.

Fortunately for her, a team was already out on the hunt for the man when Lindsay had called for help. It took only a matter of minutes for the team to track her location down and arrive at her rescue in the nick of time. It was smooth sailing from there. The flabbergasted attacker was no match for the army of policemen who each had their finger on the trigger of their guns.

She nervously bit her lip as she gazed around the once deserted alleyway now teeming with flashing police cars and bustling people. She was sitting in the back of an ambulance as she overlooked Namjoon who lay on the outstretched bed. He saw his face twist in pain as the paramedic wrapped up his bruised arm. Her heart reached out to her roommate. She couldn't fathom the amount of excruciating pain he had to bear to keep the attacker from pouncing on herself.

She shuddered as the image of fresh blood trickling down his arm as the attacker stabbed him flashed in her mind. Lindsay herself had made it out with some minor scratches that can heal quickly. True, that though she was physically well, she would however be traumatized for the coming years from this experience.

Lindsay sighed as she absent-mindedly ran her hand softly through Namjoon's soft but slightly damp hair. Though Namjoon was almost conscious, he didn't have the strength within him to stir at her touch. He merely gazed at her through his half-lidded eyes before he fluttered his tired eyes shut.

"We have bandaged all his wounds and his bleeding had ceased. But we may have to take him to the hospital to further tend to his body." The paramedic gently advised Lindsay.

Just as Lindsay was about to agree with her, Namjoon's sore voice came through.

"No..." he softly slurred, struggling to open his eyes. Through his half-closed eyes, he managed to shake his head no at the paramedic. "I don't need to go to the hospital... I feel alright now. I'll get better at home."

"Oh. Namjoon..." Lindsay softly began, hoping to reason with him. "You're really hurt."

"He can return home if he wants but if anyone insists on taking him to the hospital for further check-ups, we would be happy to oblige." the paramedic said to Lindsay.

Lindsay gazed at the paramedic's gentle face and at Namjoon lying helplessly on the bed, looking up at her with a pleading look on his face. She gasped in surprise when she felt Namjoon gently grab her wrist with his good hand. Her worried hazel eyes met his pleading amber ones.

"Don't let them take me, Lindsay. I-I'll recover just fine back at home. I swear." he begged, desperately looking up at her.

Lindsay stared at him helplessly for a moment in silence as she was torn between what she have to do. Considering all that Namjoon had been through for her, granting this one request could be the least she could do for him... yet was she ready to risk his well-being for it.

"Please, Lindsay." Namjoon softly whispered, his cold fingers wrapping around her wrists.

Namjoon is smart. He knows what he is doing, right?

"I think I'll be able to tend him back to health at his place. I think we have all the supplies there." Lindsay finally spoke in a low voice. "I'll take care of him" she firmly reassured the paramedic. The lady softly smiled at her and from the corner of eye, Lindsay saw Namjoon give a weak half smile at her.

As a token of appreciation, Officer Jeon and Officer Park insisted on giving the unlikely duo a ride home for their bravery and heroism. Of course, with Namjoon being unable to rise to his feet without staggering and Lindsay having no idea which way the house was, they were in no position to refuse the offer.

The digital clock on the dashboard read 2.30am as the car came to a halt at Namjoon's house. Lindsay felt a surge of relief and warmth as she returned to familiar grounds after being lost in dangerous places. Right after the policemen took their leave, Lindsay wasted no time as she let Namjoon lean over her for support as they both walked and hopped to the front door.

Namjoon's weight was staggering for Lindsay's petite frame but she gave away no complains but used all of her strength to support her friend.

Entering the house, Lindsay noticed that the living room was still a disastrous mess after the party but she had no time to think about that. She quickly made her way to the nearest couch before gently lowering Namjoon onto the soft cushions and propping his injured leg on top of a pillow.

As the dimly lit lamp casted shadows over Namjoon's beaten and tattered form, he felt his body ache from head to toe. His heart sang in relief when he realized that Lindsay was at last safe and sound from evil's clutches, but now he has to wince in pain through the night while he somehow come up with a way to tend to his broken self.

As Lindsay softly placed him on the couch, he was about to get up and limp his way over to the medicine cabinet but was gently held back by Lindsay.

"No, Namjoon. I'll take care of that." she whispered, gently laying him down on the couch.

Namjoon stared at her stunned for awhile before clearing his throat and trying to sit back up again. "No, Lindsay. Thank you for all your help but I can..."

He was again firmly pushed back on the couch by Lindsay and she held on to his shoulder reassuringly. "Hey..." she started in a soothing tone. "I've got this, okay? You're going to be okay. I'll take care of you."

Namjoon breathed out softly in wonder as his gaze followed Lindsay to the other side of the room, before she returned to his side with a bag of bandages and ointments in her arms.

Reaching out, she softly placed her hand on top of his injured hand. "We need to apply stronger medication and properly wrap your arm up." she explained to him. "May I?" she whispered as she softly stroke the bandage around his arm.

Namjoon stared at her in silence for a few moments before slowly nodding his head. Being ever so gentle, Lindsay reached out and softly unwrapped the bandage from Namjoon's arm, slowly exposing the raw bright red flesh from underneath. Lindsay's heart almost crumbled as she saw the depth of the wound but she was determined to make Namjoon feel better.

Gently dabbing some ointment into a piece of clean cloth, Lindsay softly pressed it onto Namjoon's wound.

Namjoon winced at the sudden contact, causing Lindsay to briefly retract before softly shushing to calm him down.

"Sshh, Namjoon. It's alright, it's just me." she whispered soothing reassurances to him, her eyes filled with compassion. "I have to do this to make you feel better. I promise I'll be gentle. You have to trust me."

Namjoon gazed at his raw wound then back at Lindsay's soft eyes gazing into his. He sighed before giving her a small smile. "Alright. I trust you." he sighed. "But be gentle."

"I promise." Lindsay reassured him before proceeding with the treatment. As Lindsay applied low pressure to his wounds but made sure to tend to them properly and diligently, Namjoon couldn't take his eyes off the girl.

Her tenderness, her care, her soothing voice as she softly shushed him whenever he winced in pain was unlike anything he'd ever experienced. It was all so new to him. All his life, he had been the one expected to take care of his younger brother and make sure everyone around him was alright. When it came to how he was holding up, he was expected to crawl through the battles with knives stuck to his back. Always told to toughen up and take care of himself.

He never imagined that a day would come where he would be sprawled upon the couch completely helpless and vulnerable, but not to be mocked and shamed for letting his front down, but instead to be tended to by a warm and loving sensation.

The sensation stirred up from the depths of his heart and rushed through his veins in ripples, embracing every inch of his body in a heavenly feeling. He felt Lindsay gently clutching the back of his head, holding him close to her, promising to never let go.

He found himself softly smiling to himself as he secretly wished for this moment to never end.

"Now I just need to wrap up your injuries." Lindsay said before reaching into the supplies to take out a roll of clean white bandage. She was suddenly taken aback, as Namjoon's hand securely placed itself upon her hand, preventing her from taking the roll.

"What's wrong, Namjoon?" she asked concerned.

Namjoon shook his head. "Not those," he said. He then pointed to a small green packet next to the bandage roll. "Try those instead."

Lindsay shrugged before tearing the package open to find...

"Dinosaur Bandages?" she gasped looking at Namjoon in utmost surprise, to which he scoffed and looked away slightly annoyed, but a tinge of pink dusted on his cheeks.

"Oh, don't act so surprised. You clearly knew about them. Although I have no idea how." he muttered the last part angrily under his breath with his arms crossed.

"W-what do you mean?" Lindsay asked, still holding the unusual bandages in her hands, visibly confused about all these.

"The clothes prank you pulled off a few days ago." Namjoon said. "You wrote on my shirt for everyone to see that I use dinosaur bandages. Well, done. Now can we move on?" he grumbled looking down like an angry little child that it was almost adorable.

"Wait. Hold up!" Lindsay said, looking at Namjoon in disbelief. "You mean to tell me that you actually use dinosaur bandages?" she asked.

"Yes."

"And it's not something that I randomly made up?"

"No"

"Oh..."
