The soft rays of sunshine streamed in through the gap of the flowing curtains before kissing the young brunette's long, flowing chocolate-brown hair. The melodious tunes of the whistling bluebirds gently escorted Lindsay out of dreamland and into the dawn of a new day.
Her eyelids fluttered open before her vision eventually ceased being groggy and distorted, making the bedroom seem much clearer. With a soft moan, Lindsay sat up halfway and yawned while rubbing her eyes.
With half-lidded eyes, she groggily looked around her and started unraveling the blanket tightly wrapped around her waist and legs. As she looked over her side, she suddenly froze on the spot, pulling the white sheet up to her face and cautiously peeking over its hem.
For there laid to her side, another person fast asleep. It only took a few moments for Lindsay to realize that it was in fact her roommate. Her roommate, Namjoon, who was laying with his head on his arm, his bangs a golden curtain on his face and his chest slowly rising up and down in steady rhythms.
Lindsay slowly put the blanket down and peered over Namjoon's sleeping face.
How on earth did he end up beside her on her bed?
Leaping back, she quickly looked down and patted her body all over before breathing a sigh of relief.
Nah, she still had her pajamas on and the nape of her neck felt smooth and untouched.
Then suddenly, from the very back of her mind, distorted hazy memories from last night's painful confession started to resurface on the surface of Lindsay's mind.
It all started coming back to her. How she had broken down in front of Namjoon in tears and how she ended up confessing to him about the tragic accident and the loss of her dear mother. At this, Lindsay had to swallow the growing lump in her throat.
It amazed her on how much she had ended up revealing to Namjoon whom she once used to despise so much. She had never told a soul on earth about the accident and telling it to Namjoon was definitely the last person whom she thought she would have confessed it to.
Nervously biting her lower lip, she inched closer and hovered her face above Namjoon's, gazing at his flawless face.
His luxurious golden locks cascaded over his face as he peacefully dreamt. His chiseled pink lips slightly tilted up to form a serene smile and soft snores echoed in the moment as he was enveloped in a tranquil slumber.
He looks so peaceful, almost youthful when he is asleep. Lindsay softly thought to herself with a smile.
He looked like a divine angel with the innocence of a little child. Lindsay felt her heart warming up when she realized that Namjoon went as far as to sleep beside her to help her get through her traumatic night.
She gazed at his slumbering face and recollected how disturbing yet oddly comforting last night felt. She still felt the warmth of Namjoon's loving embrace lingering in her body and she felt the soothing tingling sensation from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. It was so rich and pleasant.
His mesmerizingly sweet voice as he whispered sweet endearments and nothingness into her ear as she wept on her shoulder, the touch of his hands on her back as he gently rubbed soothing circles... It was so vivid, so descriptive and so real, that she couldn't convince herself that it had all been just a dream.
After her kidnapping, Lindsay hardly recognized Namjoon anymore. It was almost as if his cold demeanor was peeling off to reveal a soul so vulnerable and damaged as hers, yearning for understanding.
Lindsay softly gasped as she felt her cheeks and neck flush crimson and felt the rhythm of her heartbeat quicken whenever she thought of Namjoon's very name. She once again, pulled the covers to her face, embarrassed to show her flustered cheeks.
Grabbing her pillow, she slammed it tight against her face before groaning into it.
Why was she blushing so much this morning? Was she having a fever? What's going on?
She slowly peeked from the corner of her eye towards Namjoon's beautiful face and she felt her heart dance to a million songs.
Reaching out, she leaned in and touched his soft cheek and marveled at its warmth. The touch was enough to ignite her whole body into flames. Could it be...? Is she...?
Just then, Namjoon stirred in his sleep, before his hand trailed up to touch the small hand that was cupping his cheek.
The inexperienced girl panicked before pulling her hand away and leaping out of bed as if she had been stung. She hastily got to her feet,-stumbled twice with the blankets getting tangled around her feet- before darting downstairs while clutching her blazing cheeks.
A sharp yelp was heard before the sound of something or rather someone tumbling down the staircase echoed around the hallway. Namjoon, still laying in bed, peeked one eye open before smirking to himself.
"Cutie." he chuckled to himself. He contemplated on whether to follow her to make sure she's alright, but something told him that the sight of his face would drive the already flustered girl to insanity.
He smirked before shutting his eyes again while fighting off the growing urge to tempt his roommate. As he tried to sleep through the Saturday morning, he tried to fight off the soft voice inside him that whispered that even he would have been flustered to meet the girl's face just as he thought that she would have been to meet his.

When Namjoon decided to make his way downstairs for breakfast it was already 8am. The living room was quiet but he could hear the distinct sound of the clatter of silverware before the sound of whispering voices and giggling followed suite.
"Mhm these pancakes are amazing, Noona." he heard the innocent chirp of his younger brother before hearing the screech of a chair being pulled before the clank of a plate being set down upon the table.
"Aww, thanks Seo-Jun. I really appreciate it." came the sweet giggles and the familiar voice of his roommate. Namjoon surprised himself as he found himself grinning widely at the mere sound of her melodious voice and started feeling a sense of warmth wash over his body as he realized that she was still there. Right inside this house. With him.
When he made his entrance into the kitchen, both the heads of the occupants spun around to face him. Seo-Jun grinned broadly at him with his eyes sparkling in excitement.
"Good morning, hyung!" he chirped. "Come sit down with us! Lindsay noona made us pancakes with maple syrup!" He gestured with his head to a lovely pile of warm, sweet smelling pancakes stacked up on top of each other on the middle of the dining table with golden syrup glazed upon its surface.
Namjoon smiled at his brother before glancing up at Lindsay who stood silently next to the table, wearing a beautiful sky blue dress adorned with tiny white flowers on its neckline. She had her hands clasped together in front of her and she was shyly gazing at Namjoon with a cute smile. She caught his gaze and Namjoon wasn't sure whether it was merely the rays of dawn making her face appear radiant or whether he saw a subtle hint of a pinkish hue on her cheeks.
He cleared his throat. "Hey, Lindsay." he smiled charmingly at her.
"Oh-um.. hey." Lindsay sheepishly said with a small wave of his hand, before taking a deep breath to steady her heart that had suddenly begun to beat rapidly ever since Namjoon set foot inside the room.
Clearing her throat, she flashed a smile. "Come, sit down please, Namjoon." she invited as she gestured to a vacant seat.
Namjoon obliged with a polite smile, subconsciously adjusting the layers of bandages wrapped around his arm before walking over and seating himself directly across his brother.
"I'll get more plates." Lindsay said before making her way towards the pantry.
"Hyung, so, how are you doing now? How's your arm?" the ever considerate Seo-Jun asked, genuinely concerned for his older brother's well-being. Namjoon grinned lovingly at his warmth before responding cheerily.
"I'm doing much better, Seo-Jun. Much better compared to last night." he tried to flex his injured arm slowly before continuing. "Yeah, it kinda stings if I bump my arm hard against something but it feels really good when its by itself."
Seo-Jun sighed in relief before putting up an adorable childish smile.
"Thank you for asking, Seo-Jun." Namjoon grinned.
"Er-Namjoon?"
He was brought out of his conversation with his brother by Lindsay's voice. He turned his head to look at her, rummaging through the contents of the pantry. "What's up, Lindsay?"
"Um.. I can't seem to find any extra plates in here. Do you know where you keep more of them?" she asked.
"Oh, they are right up there." Namjoon replied, gesturing to the row of cupboards inches above Lindsay's head.
"Thanks." she smiled before managing to open the cupboard, before stretching her arm as high as she possibly could in an attempt to at least brush her fingers against the rim of the plates on the higher shelves. She stood up higher on her tippy-toes, grunting as she waved her arm in the air.
Just as she was about to give up and grab a chair from the table to support her pathetic height, she found a lean yet well-built figure leaning against the side of her own before she saw an outstretched arm swiftly grab the plates from above before giving them to her.
Upon meeting those amber eyes, it was Namjoon smiling at her as he held the plates out to her, his injured hand cradled to his chest while he held the plates with his uninjured hand.
"Thought you needed a little help." he whispered. Lindsay's eyes were widened with surprise and she was speechless for a few minutes as she seemed to lose herself in a swirl of amber.
She hesitantly reached out before grasping the outheld plates with her own hands. "Thank you." she murmured before she felt the color slowly rise to her cheeks.
Her heart darting at the thought of Namjoon catching a glimpse at her vulnerable state, she whipped around while clutching the plate against her chest. Yet, the sheer speed in which she tried to sprint away ended up making her feet knock against each other in the process.
With a sudden yelp, she felt herself falling but was securely caught with a pair of strong arms enveloping her from behind before she felt herself being pulled against someone's broad and protective chest.
She knew that logically there was only one person who could have been at a close enough distance to catch her within a few milliseconds. Unless, Seo-Jun turned out to be Flash's offspring.
"Careful now, Lindsay." she glanced over her shoulder and found herself heavily blushing as she realized just how close hers and Namjoon's faces were. Their noses almost at the verge of touching. As Namjoon carefully helped her onto her feet, he proceeded to vigilantly check her for any injuries.
"Alright?" he asked with a smile to which Lindsay simply nodded before blurting out a swift thanks and then making her way to the table.
As soon as they had taken their seats around the table, Lindsay started serving pancakes onto each one's plates. All the while, Namjoon could only stare at how radiant her face looked from the side. Then a mischievous smirk crept on to his face before he comfortably leant back on his chair.
"So, you cooked, Lindsay?" he asked with a casual smile.
Lindsay paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I did."
"Hm. That's intriguing to hear." Namjoon remarked before adding. "Given the fact that the kitchen is not almost burnt to a crisp, I'd have never guessed it."
Seo-Jun tried to hide his snort and giggles by taking a sip of his orange juice, while Lindsay simply rolled her eyes in annoyance before blowing at her bangs. "I didn't" she huffed.
Namjoon snickered to himself, enjoying the early morning teasing, before digging into his pancakes. Just as the first syrup drizzled morsel touched his tongue, his eyes widened in delight. "Mhm!" he let out a sound of pleasant surprise, before gazing at Lindsay. "Did you make these?"
"Yes?" Lindsay replied hesitantly, staring at him with an anticipated look with her glass of orange juice in her hand.
Namjoon nodded before shoving a few more bites into his mouth. "They're pretty decent." he shrugged.
They're mouthwatering and so good!
"Oh, Seo-Jun," Namjoon turned to his brother. "It's alright if you can't take it upon yourself to finish the whole batch just to make Lindsay happy. I can cover that for you."
At that, with a sharp screech of her chair, Lindsay leapt to her feet annoyed, before grabbing the plate of pancakes and standing beside Namjoon.
"You know, Namjoon, if you want seconds, you can simply ask for some like a normal person." she said with a half raised eyebrow.
Namjoon gulped before meeting her gaze, before hanging his head and taking a deep breath. "Yes, I'd like seconds, please." he mumbled.
"Good." Lindsay said, before slapping another pancake onto his plate.
