when kali met luke riordan after transferring to godolkin during her sophomore year, she knew she had to have him. he was the perfect guy, maybe he didn't use compound v himself, but he knew how to get the others to use it. and he was sweet. when he dies, kali is forced to sell the compound v with the help of a few friends. she finds herself getting into deep shit when she tries to deal to the wrong person: grayson morales, her childhood bestfriend who knows a deep secret about his sisters death.

with the help of grayson, kali forms a group of people at her school with a unique set of abilities, in order to take down the woods, whilst making money for her aunt and uncle.
