𝐯𝐢𝐢𝐢. Who are the vampires that will take the cure

This is such an interesting topic to yap about honestly cause I haven't thought of it myself. Because I always thought of the venom completely erasing what was humane about them, their memories, their appearance. Vampires don't even have organs or blood running in their system anymore because we even saw the animation in the movies that the venom destroys them. EXCEPT if they're a newborn. That's why they're stronger than old vampires because their blood is running in their system, but as Jasper did in the Southern Vampires when the newborns were already a year in. He disposes of them.

But I wasn't asked what I think about vampire cures. I was asked who in the Twilight universe are the vampires that will take the cure WITHOUT their special someone swaying their decision.

First, I want to remind everyone that this is my opinion. If you disagree with it, that's fine, but don't pick a fight with me because you disagree. I don't have time for that, and this is a message for EVERYONE, not the person who asked for this opinion because I know some may disagree with me.

I think we should start with the most obvious answer.

Rosalie Lillian Hale.

It is so highlighted in the books that Rosalie ABSOLUTELY hated being a vampire. And her feelings are 100% valid. I mean, Carlisle Cullen turned her into a vampire because he thought Rosalie and Edward would suit each other because Edward felt lonely. I mean, Carlisle saw a woman who was assaulted dying in an alleyway and said, "Oh! What a perfect girl for my son," Carlisle really messed up in that part. Without even knowing that Edward doesn't even like Rosalie! Rosalie, being the vain glory that she is (she has the right to feel vain; she's gorgeous), hated Edward since then because he rejected her. Everything was stolen from her, and she didn't even consent to it. Her humanity, her right to grow old, have children, and a family was gone in the blink of an eye, and she couldn't do anything about it. She didn't ask to be saved; she wanted to die; she said so herself that she prefers death over being a vampire. If given a chance, she would be a human again. To not be in the chains of thirsting or drinking blood to live. To be normal. To interact with human society without moving over and over again. To experience change and not be frozen in time. Smeyer really made her suffer. And Rosalie doesn't deserve to be written that way. I mean, Smeyer could have made her less miserable when she met Emmett. Still, I think it made her more miserable because she has Emmett, the love of her life. They couldn't even have kids or be a normal human family, grow old, "Emmett gray haired by my side," and die. Rosalie deserved better writing. Because she met a terrible end and couldn't even be happy in her second chance at life? HELLO? I know I shouldn't be considering Emmett for her to take the vampire cure, but this is a general thing. Even without Emmett, she would take the cure no matter what. Even if Emmett prefers to stay as a vampire. She's choosing herself this time, and with her own will, consent, and consciousness, she decides to be human without giving a fuck on what her adopted family thinks.

Next is Edward Anthony Masen, Jr.

HEAR ME OUT. We're discussing Edward's decision to take the cure without Isabella Swan in the picture. I absolutely think that Edward only became grim and unbearable when he turned into a vampire. I HC actually that when he was human, he loved life, the possibilities, the change, and the chance to explore. He even wanted to join the war, but he was too young, so he couldn't. When he turned into a vampire, he really went through it, like he went through an existential crisis. We all knew his little adventure of wanting to drink human blood because he thought that Carlisle was confining his true nature as a vampire. After all of that, he felt guilt for the people that he killed. And became more miserable than he already was. I feel like Edward would want a chance to feel normal again. In Midnight Sun, his POV of Twilight. It was so highlighted that he hated going to high school over and over again. He called it his own personal purgatory. He hated reading people's minds. He hated that he never had a moment of peace from everyone. He just hated existing as a vampire. Edward in Midnight Sun was deeply depressed. He would choose the easy way out if he had a chance to leave all that behind. I mean, look at what he did during Bella's birthday fiasco; he left. When he learned that Bella supposedly died, he went to the Volturi to get himself killed. He ALWAYS chooses to flee and pick the easy way out of everything. I think for me, going to the Volturi because Bella apparently died was his last straw. He wanted to do it from the beginning. Edward wanted to die. I absolutely imagine that it's not his first time in the Volturi asking for death, but he was refused again because of his gift. So if being human is an option, to get rid of the blood lust, to get rid of the ability to read minds, he would take it. I'm 100% sure of it.

Up next, Mary Alice Brandon.

IKR. Omygod, no way!?!? Yes, way. Alice Cullen would take the cure. We all know that when she turned into a vampire, she absolutely has no recollection whatsoever of why the hell she woke up in a mental asylum. She doesn't know what happened to her, what happened in her human life, or why she even turned into a vampire. All she knew was that she had a vision of Jasper when she woke up. Alice spent a major part of New Moon looking and searching for answers to what her human life was like. She did find some answers; her sister, Cynthia, is alive, and she has a niece, but she never knew what her father did or how her mother died. I feel like Alice was always clinging to that missing piece in her life, her human memories. She never even found out who was the vampire that turned her; she only knew it because of James's monologue in the tapes that were in the books. If taking the cure means that she'll get ALL of her memories, she would take it. She's been searching for answers since she was turned into a vampire, and after decades worth of questioning how her existence came to be, she would absolutely take it without hesitation. Alice also has a love-and-hate relationship with her ability to see into the future. No one understands her when it comes to her vision, only Edward, because he can read her mind, but even Alice knows that Edward will only understand to an EXTENT; he even blamed her when she couldn't see all of the Volturi member's decisions in Eclipse. No one will be able to understand her gift but herself. She also gets headaches when the visions get too much for her; her headaches and headaches aren't even possible for a vampire. In Breaking Dawn, Alice wants to be near Jacob because the visions disappear when he's around, and the headaches stop, even for just a moment. As a human, Alice's gift is already showing, but it's only a fraction, glimpses, not the full version or heightened version when she turned into a vampire. Her human visions were much more bearable for her. So, to take the cure and leave all of that behind in exchange for her memories, she would be human again. But if the cure doesn't guarantee her human memories, then there's a chance she wouldn't take them.

Next, we have Marcus Volturi.

Just a short one. He would take the cure for vampirism so just he could off-himself. That's it.

Irina Denali.

I've explored the Denali dynamics in my fics, and I thought of her immediately when this question was asked. Irina is like another version of Rosalie. She carries that melancholy around her even before she meets Laurent. She was quiet and often kept it to herself. She's vastly different from Tanya and Kate. She just gave that vibe that she wanted to be human. Mainly to find love like any other normal human. It's stated in the Twilight Guide that the Denali sisters were the reason why the Legend of the Succubus even exists. They were making love with humans and only ended up killing them because the temptation of their blood was too much. And Irina, when she met Laurent, everything shifted for her; vampirism got better, BUT then he was killed. Then Irina became more miserable, and in a short amount of time, she considered Laurent the love of her life. So if it means that being human, she could find love the normal way without repercussions, she would take humanity for that.

Now that that's out of the way. Let me yap about the vampires who would not take the cure and why.

Carlisle Cullen.

I KNOW. I KNOW. I know you were expecting him to take the cure, but he absolutely will not. In like the first few years of vampirism, he would have, I'm sure of it. But let me remind you that Carlisle is a man of medicine and science; he's a NERD through and through, and for him to have the opportunity to see the world of science and medicine evolve right in front of him is every dead scientist dream, every scientist wants to see their own invention be used by other people, every dead scientist wants to see their own success. Every scientist wants to see their own research be used as a reference. Imagine if Aristotle was alive and then he learned that he's basically the father of every field, whether it is in Math, Science, Art, Philosophy, etc. HE'S ALWAYS THERE. Aristotle would never want to be dead if he learned that he was so fucking famous after millenniums. I don't care if his philosophy says otherwise. Every scientist has an ego to feed. So I could say the same for Carlisle; to witness the change, progression, and evolution of every field and study is a privilege for him as a man in the field. He probably even discovered a cure for cancer, but he just couldn't reveal it. So yeah, Carlisle would never take the cure. He'll probably invent the cure, offer it to someone else, and experiment with it.

Next is Jasper Whitlock.

This man would run if he ever saw the cure. He'll probably destroy it. LOL. I know this man. I have so much fanfiction about him that I know him like the traces of the palm of my hand. He would absolutely not want to be human, solely because of the nightmares that he'll be experiencing when he can fall asleep like he would not get a blink of it in. He has killed thousands of humans and vampires during the Southern Vampire Wars. Even as a vampire, his guilt haunts him every waking moment wherever he goes, and imagine if that guilt follows him into his dreams and that every person that he killed visited him in his dreams. He'll develop insomnia or slowly descend into madness. He'll be paranoid as fuck that someone might seek revenge on him if he turns human. The man made enemies while in the Southern Vampire Wars, he's hated by the covens that he destroyed. Heck! Maria is even alive after all these years. When she learns that Jasper has become human, she might finish the job and kill him herself because that was Maria's plan when Jasper was slowly getting depressed. Vampirism is his greatest shield. He doesn't care if his gift can sense bloodlust; he has grown used to it, and he would rather deal with that than the nightmares that he knows will never go away. He was in the army for 70+ years, which is the average lifespan of a human. He won't get over the nightmares that easily. He'll die first before the nightmares go away.

Emmett Dale McCarty.

There's no fucking with this. Emmett Cullen loves being a vampire. HE THRIVES in it. Immortality is his bitch. He loves being strong. Being able to wrestle with a bear. The adventure. Traveling. He loves his adopted family and Rose. There's no way he would throw all of this out. Because being human means losing his family-they have to continually resist his blood. Being human means being weak, and he doesn't want to feel that way again; the way he died made him feel helpless and weak. Being a vampire allowed him to be something he couldn't be when he was human. Vampirism is his second chance. He only ever lived life when he became a vampire. I know he supported his human family when he was human. He canonically was the breadwinner, and when he turned, he asked Edward for money so his human family wouldn't be as affected by the loss. Emmett worked a lot to support his family, and being relieved of that responsibility was a huge sigh of relief for him. He was young and supposed to be having fun, which he did. However, he still bore the responsibility and duty of being the breadwinner. After that, being a vampire is what he only knew in life, and being human means he has to start all over again and be alone; for sure, he doesn't want that.

Esme Anne Platt.

Many may disagree with me, but I genuinely believe that Esme would never want to be human again. Her human life wasn't good in the first place; she was in an abusive marriage, and she suffered a miscarriage because of her husband, then she jumped off a cliff. Who would want to revisit that kind of life? In the books, it's most known that out of all the Cullens, Esme is the one who is content with her way of life. Edward says she's a homebody through and through and that Esme is more than happy that her adopted children bring the rest of the world to her instead of going out. She's happy and satisfied with her life as a vampire; it's like it's what she's been missing in the first place. Bella would actually relate to her in that sense. She learned to live with being a vampire. She might have lost her own child, but she loved Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, and Jasper as her own, like any other mother would to her own children; she didn't even think that they weren't related by blood, that's her children, and she doesn't care what anyone else thinks. Being human means leaving them behind, and that would break her heart even more. When they left Forks when the family separated, she was devastated that everyone was separating, and even more devastated when Edward left them behind, too. Esme was heartbroken for Edward. That's the only thing I could say about Esme; she loves her family and Carlisle too much to even exchange them for humanity; it is a massive no for her. She would never exchange being a mother to her children because she already experienced the loss of her own, and she knows that if she loses them, she won't survive.

That is it. I loved yapping about this, honestly. It was interesting. I might have missed more reasons, but I wanted to stick with the canon information with this one to help with y'all fanfics so you can have a spin/take on it.

Did I just type all of this up in twenty minutes? Yes, I myself am impressed with it.
