Sabrina felt as though she had slept on a cloud. She didn't think beds could actually be that comfortable. It was almost too comfortable, her body not used to the soft environment that encompassed her.
Which is why it was so irritating when Rebekah came and woke up the two siblings early in the morning. The original cooing at the sight of the twins — it reminded her so much of herself and Nik when they were children. How he'd curl up beside her and promise to protect her from the storms raging outside.
"Ugh." Sabrina groaned out. Her voice hoarse as she glared at her twin, who was contently sleeping with the whole duvet pulled over his big head — not bothered by the sunlight shining through the window that Rebekah had opened, "why?"
"It's your first day of school, can't be late."
"School? You're joking?" She scoffed, "we got here last night!"
Issac sat up, sleepily rubbing his eyes at the commotion, "Which is exactly why we need to get you settled as quickly as possible! Don't worry myself and Kol also go to the high school here."
"Can't wait." Sabrina's voice was dripping with sarcasm as Rebekah exited the room with as much flurry as when she had entered. She flopped back down on the bed with a huff, the curtains billowing slightly while the bedside table rocked. Issac quickly fled the room, eager to get ready for his first day of school, and leaving his twin to calm down.
Twenty minutes later Sabrina descended down the large spiral staircase — a strange sight to her — dressed and ready. Her golden blonde locks were freed from the braids and her naturally curled hair flowed lightly behind her head. Her makeup was still dark and deliberately smudged, while the bruises on her face were very much prominent against her pale complexion.
Kol and Rebekah were both on the same page for once, as they thought they should heal the fragile human. But Elijah ever the voice of reason, reminded his younger siblings that they would need to gain the twins trust before revealing their true nature to them.
"I trust you slept well?" Oak brown eyes regarded her thoughtfully, as she skirted around the table the family and her twin were all sat around — Rebekah desperately trying to tame Issac's curly locks to no avail — and simply grabbed an apple from the worktop for her breakfast.
"Fine."
Her short snappy answer brought about tension in the air, Elijah placing his newspaper down as he smiled gently at the twins, "Well, I feel as though a proper introduction is needed." He gestured to the man with blonde curls and a scowl next to him, "Niklaus," he then gestured to the brunette man who had been watching the twins with quizzical eyes, "Kol," he made a flimsy gesture at the silent brunette man who hadn't even looked at them, "Finn."
He then gestured to Rebekah who the twins knew the most by now, "You've been acquainted with Rebekah, and I am Elijah Mikaelson."
"Weird names." Issac shot his sister a disapproving look, Sabrina simply raising her hands in surrender before she taking a bite of her apple.
Elijah cleared his throat, and straightened his tie, "Our mother will be home this evening, and she has arranged for us to eat together. As a family."
Sabrina wanted to voice how it was slightly odd that Finn, Elijah and Niklaus (who had firmly stated that he'd much rather be known as Klaus — which meant Sabrina would continue to call him Niklaus out of spite and amusement) all still lived with their mother who was mysteriously absent during the arrival of her new family members.
But Sabrina really didn't care enough to question it all. Not when they had a roof over their head for the moment, and food in their bellies. It wasn't much but it was enough to dull her queries for a little while.
"Would you like me to drive you to school?" Rebekah questioned, hope filling her tone and sky blue eyes.
"Actually, we have our own way of getting there."
Sabrina had an old battered skateboard from one of her foster brothers many years back. It had most certainly seen better days, but she didn't mind. Issac would ride beside her on the bike she had bought him when he turned thirteen. She'd been working odd little jobs for such a long time that she couldn't remember when she started. Sabrina had to make a bit of money so she could buy Issac the things he needed like new clothes — his constant growth spurts not helping — school books and other essentials. She'd even been trying to save up a college fund for him.
It wasn't much, but it was her best.

The twins stopped in front of the school. Apprehension clear on Issac's face. They had moved around so much that Mystic Falls High was not the smallest nor the largest school they had ever been to. While the town itself was relatively small so they found their way to the school just fine.
Sabrina felt the weight of the packed lunch in her backpack weighing her down, emotionally mostly. She was so used to sneaking food out of the kitchen for Issac's lunch and not being able to get her own. Someone looking out for her as well was new. She wasn't sure she liked the warm feeling it caused inside her chest, "Hey, you two. Let's go get your timetables."
The two were immediately ambushed by Rebekah and Kol, though it worked out in their favour as the chatty receptionist probably wouldn't have left the two new students alone if it wasn't for Rebekah's charm.
Sabrina frowned at her timetable, noting that she only had two classes with her brother, and that they all shared History together — she didn't bother to ask why Rebekah and Kol were in the same year. Though she noted that Issac had been jotting down all the odd things he had noticed about their relatives in a notebook, "Do you want us to walk you to your first classes?"
Issac modding enthusiastically, Rebekah quickly whisking him away as the two siblings waved fleetingly at each other, "I'm just going to find my locker. I'm sure I can find it on my own."
Kol didn't look to happy about it, but allowed her to go on her own, "If any boys come up to you—,"
"—kick them in the nuts. I know grandad."
She ignored the inquisitive and lustful looks she was reviving from the students loitering about the halls — she was fresh meat — it didn't really help that when her leather jacket moved her cropped top that was most certainly against the dress code was revealed and the indents of her nipple piercings could be seen.
Those things had hurt like a bitch to get done.
Sabrina found her locker easy enough, opening it was the problem. She glared at it for a moment, wondering if she could open in with her mind — though if it backfired and the entire thing blew off she'd probably end up expelled on the first day.
A dainty fist suddenly banged on the locker door several times before it popped open like magic, "Sorry," Sabrina spun around to meet doe brown eyes filled with kindness, while the girl had a soft smile on her glossy lips, "I had that locker last year, it's a pain to open."
"It's fine." Sabrina winced internally, never able to completely turn off her hostile tone. The girl in front of her seemed to be the typical girl-next-door with pin straight brown hair, and shoes more expensive than Sabrina's entire outfit. "Uh, I'm Sabrina."
"Elena," the girls shared a slightly awkward handshake. A small smile forming on Sabrina's face that didn't feel completely natural, "it's nice to meet you, Sabrina."
AUTHORS NOTE!
I'm really trying to just speed edit these first few chapter so I can get to the good stuff lmaooo. I've missed writing Sabrina tbh, she's one of my favourite OC's to write.
Would just like to say I'm slowing the timeline a bit so the two can actually get to know the Mikealsons before everything implodes. So the ball won't be for a few weeks.
Stay safe! And remember to vote, comment and or share please!
