AILEEN CALLED SCARLET Knowing she was gonna clock out any second. The Roberts girl wanted Arianna to be with Danny, but she knew Scarlet was gonna walk home with Danny. Scarlet sighed as she untied her gun, letting her hair fall down to her shoulders. She grabbed her phone sliding up on the green button. She placed the phone to her ear, biting her lip.

"This is Kincaid." Scarlet answered, grabbing her purse, checking herself in the mirror then stepping out to wait for Danny.

Aileen bit her lip, looking around making sure no one was around. Scarlet put her purse on her shoulder, walking over to Danny's office.

"Are you with Danny?" Aileen questioned, biting her nail.

Scarlet rolled her eyes, chuckling "Yes, why?"

"I have an idea to set him up with Arianna, but we can't have Vince finding out, you know.." Aileen told her, sitting at the dining table.

Scarlet fiddled with her necklace, rubbing her thumb over the letter. For as long as the two cousins could remember Vince was way too overprotective of Arianna and Lauren.

"What does this have to do with me?" Scarlet questioned, leaning against the wall.

Danny came out of his office, seeing Scarlet on the phone. Scarlet held up her hand before Danny could speak. It had to be important otherwise Scarlet would've talked to Danny at that moment. Danny walked out and waited for Scarlet outside.

"Can't you seduce Vince to get his mind off the fact that Ari is gonna be across the way with our neighbor? Come on, Scarlet. You know deep down you felt something with Vince. So, please, you know you want Arianna and Danny to be together. Help?" Aileen pleaded over the phone, pouting.

Scarlet leaned her head back, closing her eyes "Okay, I can do that for you."

"Thank you, you won't regret it. Love you, see you in 5." Aileen made a kiss noise over the phone.

Scarlet returned the gesture "Love you, too, kid."

Aileen hung up the call waiting for Scarlet to come home. Richie sat next to her, kissing her head.

"Is she gonna do it?" Richie questioned, petting Aileen's hair.

Aileen nodded, kissing his cheek.

DANNY AND SCARLET Walked inside their apartment complex. The plan had to work. Scarlet saw Arianna and Aileen walk down the stairs with the keys in Arianna's hands.

"D-danny.." Arianna looked up to see Danny with Scarlet.

Danny gave her a half smile, chuckling "Hi, Ari."

Scarlet walked upstairs to change into something more comfortable. Aileen followed after her going into their shared apartment. Their plan had to work. When Scarlet came out of her room she was wearing leggings and one of Vince's shirts. Aileen chuckled, grabbing three beers.

Richie, Aileen, and Scarlet all sat by the window spying on Danny and Arianna.

"Is this gonna work?" Richie questioned, sipping his beer.

Scarlet chuckled, moving her hair off her shoulder "Arianna and Danny were practically made for each other. Like you and Aileen."

Aileen placed a hand on her chest "Aww, thanks, cousin."

"Welcome." Scarlet clanked their beers together, leaning back.

After 5 minutes Vince texted Scarlet to let her know he would be home soon. Scarlet bit her lip and looked over to Aileen and Richie.

"Ask him if he wants to go out to eat or see a movie." Aileen suggested, wanting to keep Vince away knowing he was protective of his own cousin.

Scarlet nodded, texting Vince about going to eat at the local diner. Aileen and Richie sent her thumbs up. Hopefully that would go according to plan which worried Scarlet. They never officially were romantic with each other. When Vince got home Scarlet hurriedly got her purse and phone, walking out of the apartment with him.

"Have fun, you two!" Aileen giggled, sipping her beer.

Scarlet sighed, walking downstairs with Vince. Vince placed his hands in his pockets, clearing his throat.

"So, you wanted to hang out with me, because?" Vince questioned her as they walked to get something to eat.

Scarlet nudged him, playfully "I can't hang out with you?"

Vince stopped walking, wrapping his hand around her wrist, sighing "I don't mind hanging out just you and me, Scarbear, but you left me 5 years ago. Alone to raise my sister while Leslie was drowning herself in booze and drugs.."

Scarlet bit her lip, moving her hand down to hold his hand "I just want to fix our relationship."

"What relationship, Scarlet? You're giving me mixed signals here. You and your sister both treat me like I'm an outsider, but I would drop everything to make sure you and Anastasia are fine. So, what relationship do you want from me?" Vince inquired, looking into Scarlet's blue eyes.

Scarlet frowned as she listened to Vince confess how he felt with the way Anastasia and herself have been towards him. He was right to feel the way he felt.

"I like you, Vince, a lot. I'm sorry for leaving all those years ago. If I could change me not taking you and Laurie with me, I would. I miss you, Vince. I miss being with you, hanging out, okay? I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart." Scarlet tore up, looking away from him.

Vince turned her head towards him, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, planting a kiss on her head. Scarlet wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head on his chest. Maybe it could work.

"You like me, huh?" Vince teased, running his fingers through her hair.

Scarlet nodded, blushing a bit "A lot."

"Let's go eat and watch a movie, okay?" Vince kissed her head.

Scarlet laughed a bit, a crimson color rising to her cheeks as she looked up at him "I'd like that."

Vince pulled away from the hug, walking to the closest diner.

IN THE MORNING Aileen and Scarlet sat the dining table with Richie while Vince was off at work. Scarlet's part of the plan worked, she hoped Arianna and Danny got together.

"So, they slept together. I think." Richie spoke up, looking over to Scarlet.

Scarlet whooped while sipping her coffee "Great."

"What about you and Vince?" Aileen questioned, wiggling her brows.

Scarlet rolled her eyes, rubbing her forehead "We watched The Passenger after dinner cause we went home after eating."

"That's the one with the guy who goes on a rampage because his coworker was getting picked on, right?" Richie questioned, looking over to Scarlet.

Scarlet hummed in response "Yup."

"Netflix and chill, eh?" Aileen teased, lightly shoving Scarlet.

Scarlet chuckled, looking at Aileen "You wish."

Aileen fiddled with her necklace "He dated me to get over you, I think it's safe to say you are his soulmate."

Scarlet bit her lip, nervously as she looked down at her coffee.

"And you did take him to the hospital when he had wood left in his stomach and begged your uncle to pay for the hospital bill. Aileen wouldn't do that for me if she didn't love me the way you feel about Vince. What you two have is true love." Richie placed his hand on Scarlet's back.

"I'll talk to him." Scarlet smiled a bit.

IN THE NIGHT Danny walked Scarlet to her apartment. Vince still didn't know that Arianna was seeing Danny.

"Thanks, Danny for walking me." Scarlet smiled, hugging him.

Danny hugged back, nodding "Of course, and thank you for what you did."

"Anytime." Scarlet unlocked her apartment door, seeing Vince drinking a beer and watching a movie.

"Bye, Scar." Danny waved then went to his apartment.

Scarlet waved then sat next to Vince, poking his cheek. Vince scooted away from her, shaking his head. What was with the third degree?

"V, what the hell?" Scarlet furrowed her brows.

"Are you sleeping with him?" Vince spoke up, not looking at Scarlet.

Scarlet furrowed her brows in confusion "Excuse me?"

"Are you sleeping with Danny?" Vince looked over to Scarlet, raising a brow.

Scarlet clenched her jaw, rolling her eyes. Really?

"No, Vince, I'm not sleeping with him. He's my friend and I'm not sleeping with him. Arianna is." Scarlet fessed up then covered her mouth.

Oh, fuck. Vince stood up, annoyed. Here it came.

"What?!" Vince exclaimed, looking down at Scarlet.

"Why do you care anyways? She's older than you!" Scarlet stood up, throwing her hands in the air.

Vince shook his head, pointing at Scarlet then the window "You set up my fucking cousin with Danny behind my back, Scarlet. How do you think that makes me feel, huh?! Did you even want to go out with me or was that a distraction to get Arianna and Danny alone?"

"You're being ridiculous. She's almost 30! Calm the fuck down, Schneider!" Scarlet yelled at him, getting in his face.

Vince gritted his teeth together as he eyed Scarlet up and down. Scarlet was right. Vince was blowing the situation way out of proportion.

"I'm sorry, I had too many beers and I just want to protect her and Lauren.." Vince put his head in his hands as he slowly sat back down.

Scarlet sighed deeply, sitting next to Vince, rubbing his back "I feel the same way about Anya, she's dating the kid I see as my son. So, I understand how you want to protect Arianna, but you need to let that go, baby."

Vince rested his head on Scarlet's chest, wrapping his arms around her waist "I don't deserve you."

Scarlet scoffed, a smile played on her lips "I don't deserve you, yet here we are, V."

Vince kissed her cheek, smiling a bit not wanting to let her go. Scarlet kissed his head, laying down on the couch to get comfortable. Hopefully their Halloween would be drama free that year.
