[Nighttime. Achatius is sitting at a café table outside. With trembling hands, Achatius picks up a cup of hot chocolate and takes a sip. The Seelie Queen is sitting across from him in her young woman form, she has a grin on her face.] 

CAROLINE: Again with this Seelie bitch. 

SEELIE QUEEN: Not feeling yourself?

ACHTIUS: I can't taste anything anymore.

SEELIE QUEEN: It is beginning.

ACHATIUS: What is?

SEELIE QUEEN: Your transformation. Your truer nature is finally starting to burn away all that is left of your... 

REBEKAH: Humanity. 

ACHATIUS: My humanity.

SEELIE QUEEN: Those wings you birthed once your lover was taken away from you... You're very much becoming who you were always meant to be, and it's quite beautiful. 

Rose rolled her eyes. 

THEO: She was flirting with you. 

ACHATIUS: You're not here to flirt with me.

SEELIE QUEEN: I'm here to help you. Although, I'll flirt with you as well, if you'd like. My predecessor, she saw this with her own eyes, when Lucifer was torn free from Michael with the very same blade that cleaved you from your sister.

ACHATIUS: And that allowed him to become what? The devil?

SEELIE QUEEN: A demon to end all demons. But not before he went through what I gather was a very painful metamorphosis.

ACHATIUS: While I appreciate the history lesson, I struggle to understand why it is you felt the need to share.

SEELIE QUEEN: I'm a bit of a preservationist. And you are the most unique thing in the entire world. I can help you adjust–

[The Seelie Queen reaches out with her hand. Achatius shoots up. His eyes become black.]

ACHATIUS: Don't touch me.

[Achatius walks onto the street.]

SEELIE QUEEN: Where are you going?

[Achatius opens his wings.]

ACHATIUS: Away from you. 

CAROLINE: Good decision. 

[Achatius shoots up in the air. He's gone. The Seelie Queen looks up, her breath trembling.]

[INTRO IS SHOWN]

Rosaline opens her eyes and flashes her alpha eyes who had golden hue. She swings her katanas and fearless rune is showed. Achatius is standing in Edom and his eyes turn black and white wings appear behind his back. Theodore's magical bow appears and he stretches its string forming the strength rune. Jonathan is shown showing his demon eyes and his seraph blade appears. He cuts the air and flexibility rune is show. Clary is seen blowing the candles on her birthday cake forming the angelic rune. Jace is seen jumping from a building with eagles surrounding him. He jumps on the ground splashing the water which forms heightened speed rune. Alec is seen a room with healing rune drawn on one of the walls. He aims his arrow. Isabelle is now shown swinging her blade forming the parabatai rune. Simon is seen wiping the blood on his lips in hotel de mort. The whole background turns black and white. Luke is seen with a wall behind him covered with runes and wolves. Magnus is drinking his cocktail. Scene splits and shows Theo and Rose using their magic and flashing their golden red eyes. Achatius hands have sparkles dancing. Then all the runes are shown burning and Rosaline, Theo, Clary, Jace, Jonathan, Alec and Isabelle are shown walking and the title Shadowhunter appears with The Mortal Instruments written below. And the screen turns black.

[TITLE SCREEN]

[THE INSTITUTE, JACE'S BEDROOM]

[Jace is sitting by the piano. He turns around when he hears Clary's voice.]

CLARY: Any word on Magnus?

JACE: No.

CLARY: Alec must be devastated. 

BONNIE: He will be. 

[Jace rises.]

JACE: Alec's strong. He's determined to get him back and we will. I know we will. We got Rose back, didn't we?

CLARY: You are right. 

[MAGNUS' APARTMENT]

[Alec is flipping through a book, mumbling to himself. Maryse enters with food.]

MARYSE: Have you eaten yet?

ALEC: No. 

MARYSE: Sweetheart, it's okay to take some time to mourn. Magnus' bravery saved Alicante. His sacrifice is the only thing that allowed the Clave to successfully banish those remaining wraiths.

ALEC: Magnus is not dead. He is in Edom.

MARYSE: We both know that he can't ever come back home. The rift would reopen and all of Edom would come back with him.

ALEC: I'm going to find a way. And I'm going to get him back. I have a wedding to plan. 

They felt so bad for him. 

[EDOM, ASMODEUS' CASTLE]

[Magnus is sitting on the throne, looking at the ring around his finger. He is surrounded by lots and lots of candles. Lilith enters.] 

ACHATIUS: And here, is Lilith. 

LILITH: Someone had a busy night.

MAGNUS: I'd say you were rude for neglecting to knock, but Dad didn't really seem to care much for doors. Or ceilings, for that matter.

LILITH: Well, with weather like this, why bother?

MAGNUS: [rises] While I do enjoy the chitchat, I do wonder, are you here to finish off what you started in my apartment?

LILITH: Oh, no. Let bygones be bygones, Mr. Bane.

MAGNUS: And why would I believe a word you say after you came into my home and showered me with lies?

LILITH: I admit, the lengths a mother will go for her sick child can be... extreme. That's in the past. I'm here to talk about the future. 

ROSE: Future planning, great. 

MAGNUS: Mmm.

[Magnus circles around Lilith.]

LILITH: A future in which things between you and me are less complicated than they were between me and Asmodeus. After all, I'd still be your father's prisoner had you not trapped him in limbo.

MAGNUS: So, a cup of sugar, then, and you'll be on your way?

LILITH: I had something a little bit sweeter in mind. Just a tiny opening in the rift that you're holding closed, just large enough for me to fly through. 

STEFAN: She wanted to escape hell. 

MAGNUS: Mmm. And why would I ever do that?

LILITH: So I can murder that matricidal nightmare I call a son. You of all people should understand family dysfunction, Magnus. 

BONNIE: She wanted to kill you. 

MAGNUS: Mmm. And what's to stop your thirst for vengeance from extending past Achatius to my friends, hmm? To the rest of humanity?

LILITH: My word. 

ROSE: Her word means nothing. 

MAGNUS: Your word. [They both chuckle.] Right. That's enough to jeopardize everyone I love and cherish.

[Magnus walks back to his throne. Lilith turns around to Magnus. He stops walking when she starts talking.]

LILITH: If your friends really cared about you, they wouldn't have let you leave. Are you sure they're really worth all that trouble?

[Magnus sits down on the throne.]

MAGNUS: You want me to open the rift for you? The answer is no.

[Lilith grunts as she shoots out magic at Magnus. Magnus fires back, he's stronger and blows Lilith away. She falls onto the ground and gets up grunting.]

LILITH: If I wasn't still recovering from that Daylighter's infernal mark–

MAGNUS: But you are. Get the hell out of my house. 

KOL: You kicked her out. 

ALEC: As he should. 

[Lilith walks out angry.]

[JADE WOLF]

[Maia is holding a speech for the pack. In her hands is Jordan's necklace. Everyone is sitting at tables and in booths. Simon is there too, sitting next to Bat.]

MAIA: People think that we all come into this world a certain way, but everyone in this room knows that that's not true. With Jordan, he did change. [crying] Not for the worse, but for the better. Uh... So, let him be an inspiration to us all. [holding up her shot] To Jordan.

ALL: To Jordan.

[Everyone takes a sip. Simon leans out of his booth when Maia is about to sit.]

SIMON: Actually, may I?

MAIA: Uh, yeah.

[Maia stands back and Simon goes to stand in front of the crowd.]

SIMON: Given how everything happened, I know the last thing you wanna do is listen to a vampire, but Jordan was my friend. Even if sometimes he did things that infuriated me, they always were done from caring. Except that one time he kicked my ass at Street Fighter. 

They chuckled at this. 

BAT: You and me both.

SIMON: But the thing I'll remember most about him... Things mattered to Jordan. People, their troubles, their pain. [holding up his shot] Cheers to you, mate. You mattered to us.

ALL: Cheers.

[Everyone takes a sip.]

WOMAN: So sad.

[Maia approaches Simon.]

MAIA: Thank you for coming. You really meant so much to him.

SIMON: So did you. How are you holding up?

MAIA: I'll be okay. In fact, I gotta get out of here. I've got a train to catch.

SIMON: A train? Where are you going?

MAIA: Ocean City. To find my parents. 

CAROLINE: She is doing the right thing. 

SIMON: Maia, that's huge.

MAIA: It's something I should have done a long time ago. Reconnecting with Jordan and making amends before it was too late made me realize that life is short. You can't be afraid to open your heart to the people that you care about. You just have to let 'em know. [Simon chuckles and nods.] What?

SIMON: You really sounded like an alpha just now. Luke would be proud.

MAIA: And where is Luke, anyhow?

[PRAETOR SCOTT'S CAR]

[Luke is sitting next to Praetor Scott. Luke is holding the injection with the Heavenly Fire.]

SCOTT: Go ahead.

[Luke looks at Praetor Scott, then back at the needle. He injects himself with the Heavenly Fire. Luke groans and his skin starts searing. His veins light up. Luke's eyes go wide open with a green glow and he growls. He starts banging himself against the car seat in pain.] 

HAYLEY: You injected yourself with it. 

[THE INSTITUTE, WEAPONRY]

[Izzy's finger hoovers above the "call Simon" button on her phone. Just then, Simon runs into the room.]

SIMON: Izzy?

[Izzy turns around.]

ISABELLE: I was just gonna call you. What are you doing here?

SIMON: I was thinking... Life is too precious to waste any more time on stupid things, like pinky swears. 

CAROLINE: Finally, you were making a move. 

[Izzy approaches Simon slowly.]

ISABELLE: What are you trying to say?

[Simon holds out his hand. Izzy takes it, and they get even closer. They both lean in and kiss passionately. Then Simon suddenly leans back.] 

They smiled and Caroline squealed. 

SIMON: Whoa.

ISABELLE: What? What's wrong?

SIMON: You're hot.

ISABELLE: And?

SIMON: No, like, you're burning. [Simon feels Izzy's forehead.] Izzy... Izzy? [flames come out of Izzy's hands] Izzy!

[Simon steps back when Izzy's whole body starts flaming.] 

CAROLINE: What is that? 

ISABELLE: Heavenly Fire. 

[MAGNUS' APARTMENT]

[Alec has fallen asleep on a desk next to a book. He wakes up from a scratching sound close by. Alec follows the sound and kneels by the chameleon terrarium. In the glass, the chameleon has spelled out "HELP". Alec rises and gets Catarina on the phone.] 

CATARINA: Hey, Alec.

ALEC: Hey, Catarina. This is gonna sound a little bit crazy, but I think you should come over to Magnus' and check on his... lizard.

CATARINA: Lizard? Magnus has a lizard?

ALEC: Yeah, I didn't know he had one either.

[A fire message flies through the window into Alec's other hand.]

CATARINA: I thought he hated reptiles. 

MAGNUS: I do, from the bottom of my heart. 

[Alec reads the fire message.]

ALEC: [to Catarina] You have to come over here quickly. I have to go. Something happened to Isabelle.

[THE INSTITUTE, INFIRMARY]

[Izzy is laying down on a bed while Helen is scanning her with a technical device. The veins on Izzy's body appear on the screen next to them. Helen is done with the scan.]

HELEN: Hell of a first kiss, huh? 

HOPE: Seems so. 

[Izzy sits up and swings her legs over the bed.]

ISABELLE: Thank you for coming, Helen.

HELEN: Well, with Aldertree in the Gard, I suppose I'm the closest thing to an expert in heavenly fire there is.

ISABELLE: That's definitely what that was?

HELEN: The sword that you made to free Rose from Achatius... When the shrapnel hit you, it infused your cells with heavenly fire. 

ELENA: It's inside her. 

ISABELLE: There must be a way to remove it. Chelation therapy, maybe? What they use for silver poisoning?

HELEN: If only it were that simple.

ISABELLE: I was just on fire. No need to be delicate.

HELEN: When I started working with Aldertree, one of our lead scientists was struck with the debris of an unstable canister of highly concentrated heavenly fire that exploded. His condition was exactly like what's happening to you. The heavenly fire within him flared up every time he came in contact with anything demonic.

ISABELLE: What happened to him?

HELEN: Each time he came in contact with a Downworlder, he became increasingly unstable, until the fire within him raged out of control, and just like that sword exploded, he was blown into pieces. There was nothing that we could do to save him. 

DAVINA: You will die. 

[Izzy gets off the bed.]

ISABELLE: I'm a Shadowhunter. If I keep hunting demons, I'll die?

HELEN: It's not just demons, Isabelle. Coming in contact with anything demonic, including those with demon blood, could set you off. Potentially killing them, too. Look, I know that this is a lot to process. If you want, I could explain it to Alec and the others.

ISABELLE: No. I'll tell them myself. 

[UNKNOWN PLACE]

[Rose and Theo enter a place. There was a party going on. The area was very crowdy. Suddenly, all the lights go off and the spotlight focuses on one person. Rose smiles seeing her.] 

HAYLEY: Who is she? 

ROSE: An old friend. 

ADDISON: As you all know, I, loved a place in the mundane world, France and this song is dedicated to that place.

[The crowd shouted. Addison starts singing and dancing.]

ADDISON: Oh ma douce souffrance.

[Rose walks on the stage leaving Addison in shock. She starts singing.]

[Theo sits on the table stool near to the bar. Somebody passes him a shot of tequila. He looks to who he is and becomes shocked.]

THEO: What are you doing here?

MAN: I can ask the same question, Theo. 

ACHATIUS: What was he doing there? 

ROSE: You won't like the reason. 

THEO: Oh, Lucifer, I would be lying if I said I missed you. 

CAROLINE: The devil! 

ROSE: Yes, unfortunately my ancestor. 

LUCIFER: You broke devil's heart.

ACHATIUS: Lucifer and his dramatics.

[Theo rolls his eyes and drinks the tequila shot.]

BOTH: Et dans le bruit, je cours et j'ai peur 

Est-ce mon tour? Vient la douleur

[Crowd cheers as they stop singing. They come down the stage and Addison pulls Rose into a hug.]

ADDISON: Rosie!

ROSE: Addy!

ADDISON: It's been years.

ROSE: Actually, it's been decades.

ADDISON: And still, you didn't age a day. Honestly, you are a lot sexier than before. 

CLARY: Ooh, she was flirting with you. 

ROSE: You are fire yourself. 

ACHATIUS: Not this again. 

[Theo and Lucifer were listening their conversation. They approach Rose and Addison.]

ROSE: Oh, if it isn't the devil! Long time, Lucifer.

LUCIFER: It's been a long time. I notice your angelic aura. How did you become an angel?

ROSE: It's a long story.

LUCIFER: Isn't this an interesting turn of events! You become the one thing you hated the most, an angel. 

ACHATIUS: Lucifer being Lucifer. 

ROSE: Shut up, Lucifer, or I will tear your tongue out and will make you chew it thousand times. 

KOL: That's a threat. 

MAGNUS: I am scared. 

ROSE: Really? 

LUCIFER: No need to be angry, I am here to request you not to steal my girlfriend.

THEO: Girlfriend? Who is the unlucky one? 

They chuckled at this. 

ROSE: How am I stealing your girlfriend?

LUCIFER: You have been flirting with her past few minutes. 

ACHATIUS: No. Please, don't tell me what I am thinking is true. 

[Rose was confused at first but then, look towards Addison and becomes surprised.]

ADDISON: He is talking about me. 

ACHATIUS: That piece of shit is dating... Addy. 

THEO: It was hard to belief at first. 

ROSE: She can date whoever she wants. 

[Theo chocked on his spit.]

THEO: You and Lucifer?

ADDISON: It's a long story.

ROSE: Well, isn't this an interesting turn of events! [She takes a deep breathe.] Addy, I am not just here to meet you, I need your help.

ADDISON: Always. What can I help you with?

ROSE: It's about your... brother. 

They were shocked. 

BONNIE: She is your sister? 

JACE: You have a sister? 

ACHATIUS: Step-sister. Same mother, diffrerent father. 

CAROLINE: That explains the protective brother mode. 

[Addison had tears in her eyes.]

[THE INSTITUTE, INFIRMARY HALL]

[Alec is on his way to the infirmary. He's followed by Simon, who's explaining what happened.]

SIMON: I didn't set her on fire. We were just kissing, and then–

ALEC: You were kissing my sister?

SIMON: I mean, she was kissing me, too... 

They chuckled at this. 

[Izzy has left her room and encounters Simon and Alec in the hallway.]

ISABELLE: Easy, big brother.

[Izzy and Alec hug.]

ALEC: Izzy, I was so worried. Is everything all right?

ISABELLE: Just some temporary side effects, but I'm gonna be fine.

SIMON: Thank the Angel.

[Simon steps forward, also about to hug Izzy. Izzy instead steps back, looking down.]

SIMON: What, am I not allowed to say that?

ISABELLE: No, uh...

[Before she can say any more, Clary, Jonathan and Jace come up to them.]

JACE: Izzy, hey, are you okay?

[Jace hugs Izzy.]

ISABELLE: Hey.

CLARY: We came as soon as we heard.

[Clary gives Izzy a hug.]

SIMON: Great. Hugs for everybody else.

ISABELLE: Simon, it... The heavenly fire, from when the sword exploded, until it leaves my system, I can't touch anyone with demon blood. 

JONATHAN: So, I have to stay away from you, noted. 

SIMON: For how long? Are we talking days, weeks, months? 

FREYA: She doesn't know. 

ISABELLE: I don't know. I don't know. But I'm gonna be fine, okay? It's manageable.

[Jace is kind of confused with the situation between Izzy and Simon.]

JACE: What is going on here?

ALEC: Isabelle and Simon were kissing when this happened.

[Clary and Jonathan smile, Jace is shocked.] 

ROSE: You were so shocked.  

JONATHAN: Didn't know Simon, you are a player. 

JACE: What?

ISABELLE: Please tell me you have a lead on Achatius.

JACE: Yeah, we tracked down a mid-level demon known for associating with the Clave on Wall Street. He didn't have any information on Achatius.

CLARY: But he did have news on Lilith.

ALEC: What kind of news?

JONATHAN: She's gathering an army to take down Magnus. 

KEELIN: She will kill you. 

ALEC: She'll kill him.

JACE: And if she does, the rift will reopen.

ALEC: He sacrificed everything to save us. If he's going up against Lilith, I have to be there with him.

CLARY: Alec, you know that if any of us went to Edom, we'd die instantly.

ISABELLE: The atmosphere is demonic, but maybe I can go. My heavenly fire might protect me.

ALEC: No, no. Only someone with demon blood can survive there. Simon... 

SIMON: I don't have my mark anymore, but I'm sure if you give me enough swords, maybe I can– 

JONATHAN: I can also go. 

ALEC: There is no way I am allowing you to go back in that hell where you barely escaped. I need Simon to turn me into a vampire so I can go. 

REBEKAH: What? 

THEO: Were you out of your mind? 

JACE: What? 

JOANTHAN: Alec, are you out of your mind?

ALEC: What else am I supposed to do? Please, just let me try this.

ISABELLE: Absolutely not.

SIMON: Izzy's right. I'm a terrible sire. 

KOL: You are. 

CLARY: We'll find another way.

ALEC: [frustrated] What other way? Huh? Tell me. Tell me something. Any of you?

[Alec walks away. Jace goes after him.]

SIMON: Okay, we've gotta figure something out.

CLARY: Let's look in the archives under anything that even mentions the word Edom.

SIMON: Okay.

[Clary heads for the library, Simon is about to go too.]

ISABELLE: I'll meet you there.

[Simon and Izzy share one last look before Simon goes to the library as well.]

[PARK]

[The Seelie Queen is following a trail of burnt ground and animals with a group of her knights. She finds Achatius on the ground wheezing and coughing at the end of the path. His skin is mostly burnt, only his face is slightly intact.] 

FINN: You were almost burned. 

SEELIE QUEEN: You poor thing.

ACHATIUS: Go away.

SEELIE QUEEN: Volatile as you may be, you will be completely vulnerable during your transformation.

ACHATIUS: Leave me alone.

SEELIE QUEEN: Tell me, what if a Shadowhunter happens upon you – as you lay cocooned and defenseless?

ACHATIUS: I am immortal, they can't kill me. 

SEELIE QUEEN: But what if they have the only thing that can kill you? Last time checked the sword is still with Alpha Shadowhunters. What will they do? 

ACHATIUS: They will murder me in my sleep. 

THEO: We won't. I am very annoyed by the demon you. 

ACHATIUS: I am myself. 

SEELIE QUEEN: So, let me help you, dear. You will feel worse before you feel better.

ACHATIUS: If you dare betray me...

SEELIE QUEEN: Now, why would I ever do that?

[PARK]

[Izzy is standing under a bridge. It's night time. She gasps and turns around when she hears a voice.]

MELIORN: Isabelle.

ISABELLE: Meliorn. Thank you for coming.

MELIORN: When the most beautiful Shadowhunter, inside and out, says she needs to see you, who can refuse? [Meliorn is about to kiss Izzy's hand, but she pulls it back.] What is it?

ISABELLE: Seelies have access to dimensional doorways, right?

MELIORN: Why do you ask? 

HAYLEY: You wanted to get in Edom. 

ISABELLE: I need you to get me into Edom.

[THE INSTITUTE, OPS CENTER]

[Meliorn has come to the Institute to talk with Clary, Jonathan, Simon, Alec, and Jace.]

MELIORN: She said the heavenly fire in her veins would shield her against Edom's demonic atmosphere.

ALEC: Why would she take that on herself?

MELIORN: She didn't want all of you putting your lives at risk. 

THEO: Of course, Isabelle playing the martyr. 

SIMON: And you didn't try to stop her from going?

MELIORN: I did. But she convinced me it was the only way to save Magnus. She begged me not to tell you.

JACE: Yet here you are.

MELIORN: I wanted to honor my word, but the thought of Isabelle in danger, all alone... I had to tell you. 

Isabelle smiled at this. 

ALEC: Thank you, but what can we do?

CLARY: I have an idea. Hear me out. Can you get all of us into Edom through the Seelie Realm?

MELIORN: I'm afraid not. My Queen just sealed our borders. I know not why.

ALEC: Even if we could, we'd die. We've been over that.

CLARY: What if I could create a rune that binds Downworlders to Shadowhunters? We could share skills, powers and immunities. Kind of like a temporary parabatai rune. 

CAROLINE: Is that possible? 

CLARY: It is. 

JACE: Look, bonding one Shadowhunter to another, that's one thing. This is different. It's dangerous. Remember what happened when you runed Valentine back to life?

CLARY: I can make this work, Jace.

ALEC: We don't have any choice. We're running out of time.

SIMON: If it's the only way to save Izzy and Magnus, I think it's worth a try. 

JONATHAN: Let's do this. 

[EDOM]

[Izzy is walking through the demonic landscape. She turns around when she hears a whooshing sound in the air. A fireball is coming right at her; Izzy crosses her arms in front of her face to protect herself. The heavenly fire inside her makes her hands light up with flames, and the fireball vanishes when it hits Izzy's flames. Izzy looks at her flaming hands, and then shoots up the fire into the sky, right at the demon that just attacked her. She banishes the demon and grunts as the flames in her hands go out again.] 

DAMON: You just turned the poor creature into dust. 

ISABELLE: Magnus, where are you?

[Izzy continues walking.]

[SEELIE COURT]

[Achatius is in his cocoon, being watched by the Seelie Queen who's on her throne. Achatius' whole body is burnt now.]

SEELIE QUEEN: It is time. [rises] There is nothing more beautiful than the birth of a god. [Achatius emerges from his cocoon; his hands have become claws now.] And you, my dear, are absolute perfection. 

BONNIE: So, what now, were you a demon? 

ACHATIUS: Half demon, half angel. 

[THE INSTITUTE, ENTRANCE]

[Alec lets Lorenzo into the Institute and they walk through the entrance hall, where at the end Simon, Meliorn, Clary, Jonathan and Jace are waiting for them.]

ALEC: Lorenzo, thank you for coming on such short notice.

LORENZO: Thank you for restoring me. Not that it changes anything between us. I'm here for my fellow warlocks, not you. [They stop by the group.] Ah, Meliorn, envoy of the queen.

MELIORN: Good evening, Mr. Rey.

LORENZO: And Mr. Lewis, "Royal Blue" himself. I can appreciate a good melody when I hear one. 

ELIJAH: He listens your music. 

[Simon is surprised by that comment and has to take it in for a moment.]

SIMON: Thank you.

LORENZO: I see the representative for the wolves has yet to arrive. As my first act on the Downworld Council, I move that we start the proceedings without them. Give a dog too much leash, and they never learn to heel. 

BONNIE: They didn't know. 

THEO: Not yet. 

ALEC: This isn't actually a council meeting. I brought you here to help us save Magnus and my sister.

LORENZO: Help you save the warlock who stood by and watched while his father turned me into a reptile, left to dine on dead flies? May your precious boyfriend spend eternity in Edom. Goodbye and good riddance.

[Lorenzo turns around to walk away, but Alec grabs his arm, then lets go.]

ALEC: If it weren't for me, you'd still be eating dead flies. 

KOL: True. 

[Lorenzo turns back to the group.]

JACE: This isn't just about Magnus.

SIMON: It's about Isabelle, too.

CLARY: And the fate of every other living creature on the planet.

JONATHAN: Help us, and you'll forever be known as Lorenzo Rey, the warlock who helped save the world.

[THE INSTITUTE, TRAINING AREA]

[Everyone has gathered in the training area where they're preparing for their mission to Edom. Clary adds the Alliance rune to the collection on her arm. Then she turns to Simon.]

CLARY: You ready?

SIMON: Bubbie Helen would kill me if she knew I was getting a tattoo. [Clary starts drawing the rune, but then Simon pulls his arm away. He looks at the rest of the group.] You sure one of you guys doesn't want to go first?

LORENZO: Absolutely not.

MELIORN: No, thank you. 

CAROLINE: They were scared. 

CLARY: Simon, it's gonna work. I promise.

SIMON: I've never doubted you before, Fray. [Simon puts his arm in front of Clary.] Go.

[Clary holds Simon's arm still and draws the rune that binds her and Simon together. The Institute starts shaking and the light start flickering.]

JACE: Clary, this is a lot of resistance.

CLARY: I got it. The angels wouldn't have given me this power if they didn't want me to use it.

[Clary finishes the rune and grunts.]

JACE: Are you okay?

SIMON: It stings a little.

[Clary sees flashes before her eyes. It's like everything is way clearer now. She moves around the room with vamp speed.] 

KLAUS: You got vampire speed now. 

CLARY: Whoa.

SIMON: So, I guess it worked?

[Clary chuckles.]

CLARY: Who's next?

[THE INSTITUTE, TRAINING AREA]

[Lorenzo is drawing a pentagram on the ground.]

LORENZO: Almost there.

SIMON: You really sure this will work?

CLARY: It has to.

[Alec is experimenting with the magic that is now in his hands.] 

KOL: You got magic. 

ALEC: This is incredible.

JACE: Okay, so, Alec gets magic, Clary gets vamp speed, and what do I get? Pointy ears? 

They laughed at this. 

ROSE: Don't whine like a baby, Jace. 

MELIORN: You'll learn my true powers next time you take your lover to bed.

LORENZO: Impressive, if I do say so myself.

ALEC: And you're positive this can get us into Edom?

LORENZO: Not just in. Out, too. Although, it feels like a waste to ignite such craftsmanship. I suppose thus is the ephemeral nature of my art. 

Clary scoffed at this. 

JACE: Let's do this. Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll find Izzy and Magnus in the same keep.

SIMON: Right, where's the keep?

CLARY: We'll use the ring that Magnus gave Alec to track him once we arrive.

ALEC: Okay, everyone ready?

SIMON: What could go wrong? 

JONATHAN: It's just Hell.

LORENZO: This might burn a little.

[Lorenzo uses his magic to set the pentagram on fire. One by one, they all step into the flames.] 

CAROLINE: And here comes, Edom. 

[EDOM]

[Clary opens her eyes and is suddenly in Edom. Alone. She looks around at the dead trees and the fiery sky. She hears demons screeching in the distance.]

CLARY: Simon? Jace? Jonathan? 

[Clary looks up at the demons. She sees lightning flashes and hears thunder. When she hears a person nearby, she hides behind a rock and pulls out her dual kindjalls. She turns around the rock, her weapons ready, to only find Simon and Jonathan with their hands up.]

SIMON: Whoa! Whoa! 

JONATHAN: Easy.

CLARY: Sorry.

SIMON: This place is scary enough without you trying to stab me. 

DAVINA: True. 

CLARY: Where is everyone else?

JONATHAN: I thought you could tell us.

[Clary looks around.]

CLARY: I think we're on our own.

SIMON: Great.

[EDOM]

[Alec and Lorenzo are together as well. Alec goes over the ring in his hand with his stele multiple times, but it is of no use.]

ALEC: My Tracking rune isn't working. None of them are.

LORENZO: Then it appears you're more of a warlock than you bargained for. Our connection must be strong enough to fool your stele.

[Alec throws his stele on the ground in frustration.]

ALEC: You drew the pentagram. Why didn't you keep us together? 

HAYLEY: I don't think, it's up to him. 

LORENZO: Likely a side effect of your friend's Alliance rune.

ALEC: I can't even send a fire message to tell them where we are. Isabelle and Magnus are counting on us.

[Alec's anger comes through in the magic that he now has. A whirlwind starts circling around him and Lorenzo.] 

ROSE: You had to calm down. 

LORENZO: Mr. Lightwood, there's more than one way to send a fire message. Look at the rocks surrounding you. You have to calm down.

[Alec turns around and back and sees the sand and rocks flying around them.]

ALEC: I can't.

LORENZO: You can. [Alec puts on his wedding ring, and the winds calm down.] The same magic that confounds your stele is at your disposal.

ALEC: Magic I can't even control.

LORENZO: Nobody ever said this was going to be easy. [patting Alec's shoulder] But luckily, you have me. 

CAROLINE: He isn't that bad. 

[EDOM]

[Meliorn and Jace are walking towards the rift in the sky.]

JACE: According to Alec and Lorenzo, Magnus shouldn't be far from that rift.

MELIORN: Then beneath that rift is where we shall strive to be.

JACE: [unzipping his jacket] Bringing a leather jacket to Hell, that was a great idea. You're not hot?

MELIORN: Are you sweating from the heat or from fear?

JACE: From fear. I'm terrified. [sighs] I can't lie, can I? 

JONATHAN: I love this. 

MELIORN: No.

JACE: Perfect. Let's go find the others.

[Meliorn chuckles and follows Jace.]

[EDOM]

[With their vamp speed, Clary, Jonathan and Simon quickly make their way through the landscape; they come to a sudden halt when there's a large cliff in their way. They look down at the lava river below.]

SIMON: Whoa!

[They look up at the rift in the sky.] 

HOPE: You were almost there. 

JONATHAN: Almost there.

[They continue walking in normal speed to find a way around the river.]

CLARY: Yeah, Edom is definitely not the Brooklyn Academy of Art.

[They stop walking for a moment.]

SIMON: Given the chance, would you go back?

CLARY: To school? I wouldn't trade the Shadow World for anything. Before, I always felt like there was something missing. And then I met Jace outside Pandemonium and my life finally made sense. Besides, if none of this would have happened, you would have never met Izzy. Look, for me, becoming a Shadowhunter, it's who I was always meant to be. And even now, despite everything that we've been through, I feel... [Clary becomes pale] I feel... 

FINN: Hungry? 

[Simon takes out a flask.]

SIMON: Hungry?

CLARY: Yeah.

JONATHAN: Yeah.

CLARY: Is that what I think it is?

SIMON: This is good stuff. Medical grade, totally organic. Trust me.

[Clary takes a sip and gags.]

SIMON: Yeah, I know. 

JONATHAN: Still wouldn't trade the Shadow World for anything?

CLARY: Not even for a second. 

Clary smiled at this. 

[SEELIE WOODS]

[A reborn Achatius, now with white hair, and the Seelie Queen are strolling through the Seelie woods.]

SEELIE QUEEN: Isn't it beautiful? Nature never ceases to amaze me.

ACHATIUS: I have no interest in taking a stroll through the woods with you.

SEELIE QUEEN: Patience, dear.

[They hear men grunting closeby. They turn around some trees and encounter Seelie knights guarding a group of four Shadowhunters that's gagged, cuffed, and on their knees.]

ACHATIUS: What is this? 

KLAUS: Sacrificial lambs, maybe. 

SEELIE QUEEN: A gift. Sacrificial lambs, so that you might hone the art of slaughter. Stolen while they slept from an island at sea. Take your wrath, Achatius, and focus it. Away from nature and toward those who would stand against you. [Achatius looks up at the trees; his eyes turn black; the trees start shaking.] Stop. The flowers and the trees cause you no harm, Achatius. The Shadowhunters, they are the enemy. Focus on them.

[Achatius' eyes are normal again. He looks at the Shadowhunters in front of them. He looks at the one most right in line. Achatius' eyes turn black and with his mind, he kills the Shadowhunter by burning him from the inside. The Shadowhunter falls to the ground, dead. The one next to him shakes off his gag and speaks up.]

SHADOWHUNTER: If you're going to kill anyone, let it be me. Please. Let the rest of them go. Take your wrath out on me.

ACHATIUS: As you wish.

[With his mind, Achatius burns all three Shadowhunters from the inside. They fall on the ground, all of them dead.] 

CAROLINE: You killed them, just like this. 

SEELIE QUEEN: Imagine what you could do, what we could do, with this power. [turns Achatius' face to her] The Shadow World will be ours to command.

[The Seelie Queen kisses Achatius. He holds his eyes open and looks at the trees above.] 

Rose rolls her eyes. 

[EDOM]

[Jace and Meliorn are still on their way to the rift.]

MELIORN: Okay.

JACE: Stop.

MELIORN: One more question.

JACE: No.

MELIORN: A serious question.

JACE: Please, stop. 

They were laughing on this. 

[Meliorn stops and turns to Jace. He stops walking too.]

MELIORN: On a scale of one to ten, how handsome do you think I am?

JACE: Like a nine.

MELIORN: Nine. Jace, thank you. That's very kind of you. 

They were chuckling on this. 

JACE: I hate to burst your bubble, but we've got bigger things to worry about right now than your vanity.

[A demon comes flying right at them. Meliorn pulls out his spear, Jace his seraph blade and they fight off the demon. More demons start coming for them, now on the ground. Jace banishes a demon, but even more are coming from behind the rocks.]

JACE: My runes aren't working. If you've got any secret fairy spells, now might be the time.

MELIORN: I'm afraid that Seelie magic has little dominion in this realm.

JACE: What the hell does that mean? 

THEO: There are very less plants. 

MELIORN: That means that there's very few plants.

[A sea of fire suddenly emerges from behind the demons. They all screech and then vanish. When the flames are gone, Jace and Meliorn see Izzy standing there.] 

HAYLEY: They found you. 

JACE: Isabelle.

[They run towards Izzy.]

ISABELLE: You shouldn't have come.

JACE: Are you okay?

ISABELLE: I'm fine. We need to get to Magnus.

[PRAETOR COMPOUND]

[Luke wakes up in a strange bed in a strange mansion. He touches his face to realize his beard is gone.]

LUKE: Son of a... [Luke looks down to see that all his Shadowhunter runes are back on his body.] Well, I'll be damned. 

Rose chuckled at this. 

DAMON: Now, what you are back to demon slayer. 

[Luke gets up and puts on some pants when the door opens. Praetor Scott enters.]

SCOTT: It was quite a thing to see, those runes of yours bubbling back up right after you passed out. Incredible.

LUKE: Where the hell am I?

SCOTT: At the Praetor compound. Safe and very well taken care of. [holding up a stele] Here, give one a whirl. Don't worry, the adamas won't burn you anymore.

[Luke takes the stele and activates his iratze. The wound on his arm heals up immediately.]

SCOTT: Seems like Lucian Graymark has indeed returned.

LUKE: Wolf or not, he never left. But he would like to know why the Praetor needs a Shadowhunter at his beck and call.

SCOTT: The clandestine project that created the serum that returned you to your old self? It's proof enough that the Clave has gone unchecked by the Downworld for long enough. 

TYLER: He wants a spy. 

LUKE: You want a Praetor spy? Not gonna happen.

SCOTT: You might wanna rethink that. Praetors could make life quite difficult for you.

LUKE: Well, last time I checked, the good guys didn't use blackmail to get what they want.

SCOTT: It's exceedingly rare that I don't get what I want.

LUKE: If you're looking for an errand boy with Nephilim blood and a seraph blade, then you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not anyone's pawn. But if you need someone looking after the Downworld? Well, that's something I would've done, no matter what. 

They smiled at this. 

[EDOM, ASMODEUS' CASTLE]

[Magnus is staring out the window. There is a voice behind him.]

ALEC: Magnus! Magnus!

[Magnus turns around the second time to see Alec. He exclaims, and runs towards Alec.]

MAGNUS: Alexander.

[They hug tightly.]

MAGNUS: I thought I'd never see you again. 

They smile seeing there reunion. 

ALEC: I told you, it's only Edom. And we weren't going to let you fight Lilith alone.

MAGNUS: "We"?

[Magnus looks behind Alec to see Lorenzo standing there.]

LORENZO: I'm simply doing what any High Warlock would do.

MAGNUS: [to Alec] If we succeed, then what?

ALEC: Then I stay here with you. I'm never leaving you again.

[Clary and Jonathan come running in.]

CLARY: Magnus.

MAGNUS: Biscuit.

CLARY: You're okay.

[Clary and Magnus hug. Simon runs in as well.]

SIMON: Jace and Meliorn are on the way. 

JONATHAN: But where's Isabelle? Is she here?

MAGNUS: Isabelle? Should she be?

[EDOM]

[Meliorn is walking in front, Jace and Izzy behind him. They're all still on their way to the rift.]

JACE: You don't look so good, Iz.

ISABELLE: I told you, as long as I stay away from anyone with demon blood, I'll be fine.

JACE: Including Simon? [Izzy stops walking and turns to Jace.] It's okay. I get it. He's a good guy. He's been through so much already. It's lucky he's tougher than he looks. I actually always kind of admired that about him. 

SIMON: Reallly? You were telling the truth. 

ISABELLE: You have? [smiling] You're bonded with Meliorn. You can't lie, can you?

MELIORN: Shadowhunters, over here. [Jace and Izzy go to Meliorn.] Is that the keep?

[Meliorn is pointing at a castle in the distance.]

JACE: No, that looks like a castle fit for a queen.

ISABELLE: Lilith. If those wraiths are piling inside, she must be in there.

[Izzy is about to go in the direction of the castle. Jace grabs her arm.]

JACE: Hey, hey. What are you doing?

ISABELLE: Now's our chance. She won't be expecting an attack. We'll bring the fight to her.

JACE: Izzy, you can't use your heavenly fire against Lilith. It could kill you. 

CAROLINE: Exactly. 

MELIORN: Listen to your brother.

[Izzy still goes around the rock and starts to go on her way to the castle. Jace and Meliorn follow her, a bit reluctant.]
