[Achatius is sipping a drink by the fireplace. Rose approaches Achatius.] 

KOL: You were with him. 

ROSE: No. He was probably dreaming about me. 

ACHATIUS: Uh, no, I wasn't dreaming about you. 

ROSE: Did you miss me?

ACHATIUS: I told you I did.

ROSE: Next time you want to send a message like that, use e-mail.

ACHATIUS: I'll admit it was a little dramatic. But it got your attention, didn't it?

ROSE: Being back at the Institute and having to play the girl who watched everyone asses again, it got real old, real fast. I missed our life together.

ACHATIUS: Why did you leave me in the first place?

ROSE: Because I felt like it. I am a Morgenstern and I don't like being told what to do.

[Rose sits down by the fire.]

ACHATIUS: What do you say we take this family reunion on the road? We go to Madrid. Drink Tempranillo and visit the Prado.

ROSE: I would love to visit the Prado! You know, I've always wanted to see those Botch paintings in person. 

ROSE: That was a Seelie, wasn't it? Because I will never say 'Botch' as it is Bosch. 

ACHATIUS: "Botch"? Botch paintings? It's Bosch, you idiot. Rose would never get that wrong.

ROSE: Whatever, I was close enough.

[Achatius rises and grabs "Rose" by the throat.]

ACHATIUS: Tell me, are all Seelie Nymphs lent out by the Bone Chandelier so boneheaded?

[Achatius throws "Rose" on the ground and she transforms in her original Seelie form again. It's the Seelie Lanaia.] 

THEO: If it isn't dear, Lanaia. 

LANAIA: It's not my fault the words are lame.

ACHATIUS: Stick to the script. And never mouth off to me.

LANAIA: It won't happen again. I promise. I'll be better.

[Achatius walks to the window and looks in the distance at the Institute.]

ACHATIUS: Don't bother. I was foolish to ever think I could be satisfied with a fake. I suppose I'll just have to get my hands on the real thing.

KLAUS: (in mind) I will cut your hands before.

THEO: Achy being savy! Learning from me aren't you brother?

Achatius just smacked Theo's head while the rest chuckled.

[INTRO IS SHOWN] 

Rosaline opens her eyes and flashes her alpha eyes who had golden hue. She swings her katanas and fearless rune is showed. Achatius is standing in Edom and his eyes turn black and white wings appear behind his back. Theodore's magical bow appears and he stretches its string forming the strength rune. Jonathan is shown showing his demon eyes and his seraph blade appears. He cuts the air and flexibility rune is show. Clary is seen blowing the candles on her birthday cake forming the angelic rune. Jace is seen jumping from a building with eagles surrounding him. He jumps on the ground splashing the water which forms heightened speed rune. Alec is seen a room with healing rune drawn on one of the walls. He aims his arrow. Isabelle is now shown swinging her blade forming the parabatai rune. Simon is seen wiping the blood on his lips in hotel de mort. The whole background turns black and white. Luke is seen with a wall behind him covered with runes and wolves. Magnus is drinking his cocktail. Scene splits and shows Theo and Rose using their magic and flashing their golden red eyes. Achatius hands have sparkles dancing. Then all the runes are shown burning and Rosaline, Theo, Clary, Jace, Jonathan, Alec and Isabelle are shown walking and the title Shadowhunter appears with The Mortal Instruments written below. And the screen turns black.  

[TITLE SCREEN]

[JADE WOLF]

[Zoom in on the "closed" sign on the door. Inside the restaurant, it's a massacre of bodies. Blood is on the wall and the doors. Maia is still hiding with Jordan in the storage room. She gets up.]

JORDAN: What?

MAIA: The pounding. It's stopped.

JORDAN: Must be after sunrise.

MAIA: We have get out of here now.

[Maia removes the pipe from the door so they can unlock it.]

JORDAN: Careful. Careful. Just because we don't hear anything doesn't mean Heidi didn't leave more vamps to finish us off.

MAIA: And you're sure she's behind the attack? 

HAYLEY: She was. 

JORDAN: I guarantee it. She set me up to provoke the vamps at the DuMort. It's exactly what she wanted.

MAIA: It's a risk I'm willing to take. [Maia starts pushing and pounding on the door, it doesn't give.] Damn it. They must have barricaded us inside.

JORDAN: Where's your phone?

[Maia takes her phone and checks for service.]

MAIA: No service.

JORDAN: Where's Simon? He's gonna worry if he doesn't hear from you. 

CAROLINE: They broke up. 

MAIA: I don't think so. We broke up.

JORDAN: All right, uh, we just have to sit tight. Someone will come for us eventually.

MAIA: Who? My whole pack was just slaughtered, Luke stepped down, and the Jade Wolf is freaking closed on Mondays! [frantically pounding on the door] Hello? Is anybody out there? Hello? 

TYLER: She is panicking. 

JORDAN: I forgot you're claustrophobic.

MAIA: [panicky] I swear I'm gonna wolf out if we don't get out of here.

JORDAN: Try to relax. Come on. Breathe. [Maia's breathing slows down, she calms down.] Everything's gonna be okay. It'll be okay. 

BONNIE: Finally, she relaxed. 

[THEO'S BEDROOM]

[Theo is awake, sitting on the bed, staring at the burning fire in the fireplace. He feels a hand on his shoulder. Jonathan sits up next to him.]

JONATHAN: Good morning.

THEO: Hi. Morning.

JONATHAN: What's wrong? Is it bed head? Or is it morning breath?

THEO: Wait. Is the Jonathan Morgenstern feeling insecure? 

They smiled at this. 

[They lay down.]

JONATHAN: Maybe a little. He has the most beautiful man in the world in his bed.

THEO: I am guessing that is not the first time you've used that line.

JONATHAN: Actually, it is. I've wanted to wake up next to you for so long, and now... [strokes Theo's cheek and kisses him] Hey.

[Jonathan kisses Theo's hand and Theo smiles.]

THEO: Hmm?

JONATHAN: Can't all days be this peaceful?

[Theo pecks him on the lips.]

THEO: Oh, I wish. You know, I can spend my whole life in your embrace but but... this life is such a bitch. 

CAROLINE: It really is. 

[ROSE'S BEDROOM, INSTITUTE]

CLARY: Good morning, Rose.

ROSE: Good morning, sis. How did you sleep?

CLARY: I slept well. Oh, god we should have more sleepovers.

ROSE: After our heartfelt conversation, we should really have this more often. 

CAROLINE: The sisters sleepover, sounds nice. 

CLARY: I was thinking today, maybe we could do something to celebrate your homecoming.

ROSE: What did you have in mind?

CLARY: How about we keep it a surprise, huh? 

DAVINA: A surprise! 

[THE INSTITUTE, ALEC'S OFFICE]

[Luke is bringing all the books he found in Elliot's safe to Alec.]

ALEC: You found all this in Elliot's book shop?

LUKE: Yeah, he kept detailed records on the whereabouts of all sorts of Shadowhunter relics. If you're looking for the sword Achatius' after, it's a good place to start.

ALEC: All right. Well, we'll get a team on this right away. We'll call if we find anything.

LUKE: Cool.

[Luke leaves as Izzy enters.]

ISABELLE: [to Luke] Oh, hey!

LUKE: Hey, Isabelle.

[Luke leaves and Izzy goes to Alec.]

ISABELLE: So, I was thinking about what Sentry Greenlaw said before he was murdered.

ALEC: Isabelle, what did Mom say about meddling in Clave affairs?

ISABELLE: He said he had information on what was going on at the Gard and was killed for it. Aren't you interested in knowing what he had to say?

ALEC: Of course. But, there are...

ISABELLE: His last word was "inside." And I think he was being literal. I want to do an autopsy. 

CAROLINE: You should really check. 

ALEC: Don't you think Jia might notice if we return a body that's already been cut open?

ISABELLE: I'll be stealthy. This is important, Alec. It's our responsibility to find out what's really going on here. 

FINN: You wanted to get to the skin of it. 

ALEC: Twenty-four hours. And then I'm reporting it to the Clave.

[LORENZO'S MANSION]

[Magnus enters and sees Lorenzo spinning in the air. He comes down when he sees he has a visitor. When he sees it's Magnus, he flies back up again. He twirls and then faces Magnus - still in the air.]

LORENZO: Is that you, Bane? I didn't see you all the way down there. [lands] So sorry to hear about your, well, embarrassing situation. I hear you're magic-challenged. 

MAGNUS: I hear you've forbidden every warlock in the city from helping me.

LORENZO: I have. And now you've come to me.

MAGNUS: So what? Do you want me to grovel? 

KOL: Well, he certainly wants you to do that. 

LORENZO: That would be a start, especially after assaulting me.

MAGNUS: That was inexcusable.

LORENZO: I did plan on punishing you for that. But the fates have beaten me to the punch. [making a drink appear in his hand] So, how can I be of help?

MAGNUS: Oh, come on, Lorenzo. You know why I came here.

LORENZO: Yes, I do. But I want to hear you say it. And it couldn't hurt to use the word "please."

[Magnus sighs and pauses.]

MAGNUS: Please, Lorenzo, will you help me get my magic back? 

[Lorenzo grins.] 

CAROLINE: He has a ego bigger than his immortal life. 

LORENZO: So, how's mundane life treating you? Must be quite mundane. Doing laundry, taking the subway... But it gets deeper than that, doesn't it?

MAGNUS: Are you going to help me?

LORENZO: As a matter of fact, I am. For a price. 

KLAUS: Of course, there is always a price. 

[Lorenzo sits down, still a grin on his face. He's enjoying the situation.]

MAGNUS: Anything you want.

LORENZO: Not a very clever way to start a negotiation, Bane.

MAGNUS: Any material possession you want, it's yours. Without my magic, you can't imagine what it's like.

LORENZO: [rising] I may not, but, as High Warlock, it is my job to protect you.

MAGNUS: Thank you, Lorenzo.

LORENZO: You are, of course, aware that there are risks. Yeah. I can give you the transfusion of magic, but whether your body accepts it... 

FREYA: There were risks. 

MAGNUS: I can take care of myself.

LORENZO: Very well.

[Lorenzo moves his hands and magic goes from his hand into Magnus' brain. Magnus' eyes light up, so does his face. Lorenzo is chanting in Latin. Magnus pants when Lorenzo is done.]

LORENZO: One top-of-the-line dose of High Warlock magic. Go ahead. Take it for a spin.

[Magnus does so, and moves his hands. Magic does come out, and he gives himself a new outfit.] 

KOL: You got your magic back. 

MAGNUS: I won't forget this, Lorenzo.

LORENZO: No, I imagine you won't. [Magnus is about to leave] Before you go, aren't you curious about my price? 

ELIJAH: He is really going to ask something important to you. 

[ICE RINK]

[Rose and Clary are walking through the entrance of the building.]

ROSE: Breaking and entering, how romantic. 

CLARY: This way we'll be on our own. And have some sis time.

[Clary goes behind the counter where all the skates are.]

ROSE: So, what's the plan, Clary?

CLARY: Well, you know we would skate and maybe, you could tell me more about your childhood and I will tell you about mine.

ROSE: Sounds, like a great plan. It's been years since I've been on the ice. What gave you this idea?

CLARY: Well, there's a photo on your dresser of you and mom. You were at this place, and you look really happy in your little skate costume, and I knew that's something I had to do for you.

[Rose is moved by Clary's idea.] 

ELENA: You were really moved by her idea. 

ROSE: That's so thoughtful.

CLARY: Okay, what's your size?

ROSE: Uh, six.

CLARY: [turning to the skates] Great.

[JADE WOLF, STORAGE ROOM]

[Maia looks at Jordan, who's shivering.]

MAIA: Has the bleeding stopped? You're shivering.

JORDAN: I'm just a little cold. [Maia goes to Jordan and moves part of Jordan's shirt, he flinches and grunts. Jordan's flesh looks bad.] I was stabbed with silver. I didn't want you to worry.

MAIA: No, Jordan, this is...this is serious. If you don't get treatment you could die. We have to get you to the Institute now.

JORDAN: The Praetor is the only place that can treat silver poisoning. 

MAIA: [screaming] Is anybody out there? [sobbing] Somebody help us! 

CAROINE: She was totally panicked. 

JORDAN: Maia.

MAIA: [shaking] I'm calm. I'm calm. [sniffles] Look, at least take my jacket. Keep you warm.

[Maia takes off her jacket.]

JORDAN: It's okay.

MAIA: Until we can get you to the Praetor.

JORDAN: It's okay.

[Maia covers Jordan with the jacket and then sits down next to him.]

MAIA: Seriously? Now is not the time to be a gentleman. Just take the frickin' jacket.

JORDAN: You know, I have a... a trick I use when I'm in a bad situation. I think of a time when I'm happy, and I transport myself there. You should try it. The first thing that comes to your head. And, go.

MAIA: It's embarrassing.

JORDAN: There's no need to be embarrassed. It's just me and a bunch of moldy fortune cookies.

MAIA: [pauses] Okay. Well, it was this night that I... got into this huge fight with my parents. So, I just stole my dad's car and drove off. I didn't know where I was going. I just knew I needed to get away. Then the car started making all these weird noises and it died, and I was stranded right in the middle of the Cape May Expressway. 

ELENA: He said happy memories. 

JORDAN: Okay, we were going for a "happy memory", remember?

MAIA: But it was. Because I called you and you came. What's your memory?

JORDAN: I'm down at the beach, getting ready for a surf. And right when I'm about to get into the water, I see this girl reading a book and freezing her butt off.

[Maia smiles softly.]

[ICE RINK]

[Clary and Rose are on skates now. They enter the ring holding hands. Rose is a little bit unstable.]

CLARY: You got it?

ROSE: Yeah. Looks like I am really out of practice.

CLARY: Don't worry, a little brushing up will work.

ROSE: Yeah.

[Rose is still holding the wall around the ring.]

CLARY: Okay, now let go.

ROSE: I got it.

CLARY: There you go.

[They ice skate holding hands. Rose almost falls and ice skates into Clary.]

CLARY: Whoops! Let me help you. [Clary skates backwards, leading Rose with holding both her hands.] There you go. You're doing great.

ROSE: Oh, yeah?

CLARY: I couldn't stay on my feet until at least my third try. 

ROSE: That was suppose to make me feel better. 

ROSE: That makes me feel better.

CLARY: I was six years old at the time, but still...

ROSE: You're making fun of me, sis.

CLARY: No! I'm just saying you are actually ahead of the curve.

ROSE: If Theo was here he would have said, [mimicking Theo] Ahead of the... I was born ahead of the curve. Clary, I'm just, trying not to show off 'cause I know this is your thing, so... [almost falling] Whoa! 

They chuckled at this. 

THEO: You think that way about me. 

ROSE: Yeah, I do. 

CLARY: Whoa. [chuckling] Then I would have said, Well, please, by all means, don't hold back. Actually, Jace would also have said the same thing. 

JACE: No, I won't. 

CLARY: You would. 

[Clary lets go of Rose's hands, Rose slides for a little bit, then falls on her butt.]

ROSE: Ow!

CLARY: You want me to kiss it and make it better?

ROSE: You know, yeah. Yeah, I think that'd be nice... If I was Jace. 

They chuckled at this. 

[Clary kneels by Rose and she helps her get up.]

ROSE: It's not me, by the way. It's the skates.

CLARY: I see. I'm pretty sure they're too big. So, I'll go get a new pair. You'll see. It's gonna be completely different.

ROSE: Clary, if you want to make fun of me, go ahead stage is all yours.

CLARY: I am not making fun of you, maybe, the real problem is the skates.

ROSE: Agree to disagree, I am just skating after almost thirty years. It's not like that I am gonna skate like a pro in few hours.

CLARY: Just for once, try it my way. You will skate like a pro.

ROSE: Can't wait.

[Clary skates to the edge of the ring and gets off the ice. Rose tries to skate on her own. Clary goes to the back and throws the skates on a bench. Somebody is watching her. Achatius. He pushes Clary against the lockers, Clary grunts. Achatius has a dagger against Clary's throat.]

ACHATIUS: I wouldn't if I were you. You hurt me, you hurt Rose, remember? Well, it's a pleasure to meet, Rosaline's sister. I see the same Morgenstern spark in your eyes.

CLARY: I am not sure, if I feel the same. It's not everyday you meet your sister's dead lover and he has a knife at your throat. 

KOL: Could have been worse. 

ACHATIUS: Well, the circumstances could have been different but your sister chose the things to happen this way.

CLARY: So, what are you gonna do? You gonna kill me?

ACHATIUS: No. If I killed you, Rose would never forgive me.

[Achatius pulls back and then uses magic on Clary, making her unconscious. Achatius looks at Clary, then transforms into her. He comes back to the ice skating ring, as "Clary".] 

FREYA: You took her face. 

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Rose, bad news. [Rose stops skating and looks at Clary.] The, uh, owner's coming back. I think we should beat it.

ROSE: But I was getting so good.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Don't worry. There's somewhere else I want to take you today. Our little sibling bonding day's not over.

["Clary" helps Rose off the ice and they leave the ring.]

[THE INSTITUTE, ALEC'S OFFICE]

[Underhill is with Alec, flipping through pages of one of Elliot's books.]

UNDERHILL: Are we really supposed to read through every page until we find a mention of the Morning Star Sword? [throwing the book on the table] There's got to be a faster way.

[The table starts shaking and pages fly up in the air. Underhill and Alec are confused but then they see Magnus enter.] 

ROSE: Magnus, making a dramatic entrance. 

MAGNUS: I can help speed things up. [Magnus creates a tornado of pages, picking out certain ones.] Hmm. All the pages referencing the Morning Star Sword.

[The tornado of pages has stopped and Magnus investigates the pages. Alec is confused with what just happened. In the next shot, Magnus goes to the desk with the pages, Alec follows him.]

ALEC: Magnus, how did you get your magic back?

MAGNUS: I got some help from Lorenzo.

ALEC: Lorenzo? Why would he help you?

MAGNUS: He's the High Warlock. It's his job. Will you help me look through these?

ALEC: I feel like there's something you're not telling me. 

KEELIN: The price. 

MAGNUS: I thought you'd be happy for me.

ALEC: I am, but-

MAGNUS: A-ha! Here it is. A list of transactions involving the Morning Star sword. And according to this ledger, it ended up in the hands of Liam Janssens.

ALEC: That doesn't sound like a Shadowhunter name. 

THEO: It's a mundane. 

MAGNUS: No, he's a mundane and very wealthy. Collector from Antwerp. Apparently, he was so obsessed with the Sword that he was buried with it. Hmm. Fancy a trip to Belgium? 

BONNIE: To go grave robbing. 

ALEC: So we can go grave-robbing?

MAGNUS: Sounds less classy when you put it that way.

[With a snap of his fingers, Magnus creates a Portal.]

MAGNUS: Feels good to be back.

[Magnus enters the Portal. Alec follows him, and the Portal closes.]

[THE INSTITUTE, GALLERY]

[Rose and "Clary" are walking through a gallery of columns.]

ROSE: You're not going to tell me where we're going?

ACHATIUS as ROSE: You'll like it. I promise.

[Rose stops walking and turns to "Clary".

ROSE: Clary, I have to tell you something.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Yeah, sure. Anything. That's what sisters are for.

ROSE: Last night, Achatius sent me a message.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Really?

ROSE: It was through our rune. He carved "I miss you" into my arm.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Are you okay?

ROSE: I'm fine. Yeah, it's nothing an Iratze couldn't take care of. Also Achatius has supernatural healing, so, I healed fast. But, after last night, I didn't want to keep it from you.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Well, I can't really blame him for being crazy about you. 

REBEKAH: The first hint you gave her that you weren't Clary. 

CLARY: Clary, my ex lover kidnapped me and held me hostage.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: But he did it out of love. [sees the confusion on Rose's face] I'm sorry. You're right. That must've been very traumatic. Why didn't you tell me sooner?

ROSE: I wanted to, but... [inhales deeply] Clary, I didn't want you to be worried. Plus, I didn't want to spoil our perfect sleepover. You're not angry, are you?

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Not at all. I just wanna make sure you're safe. You activated your anti-tracking rune, right?

ROSE: Mm-hmm. Double-checked it this morning.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Great.

["Clary" gestures that they should keep walking. They do so, "Clary's" hand on Rose's back.]

[HUNTER'S MOON]

[Luke is on the phone when Simon enters.]

LUKE: [on the phone] Right. Uh-huh. Okay, thanks.

[Luke hangs up.]

SIMON: ‭Hey! Have you seen Jordan? He went out for the hunt for Heidi. I haven't heard from him since.

[Luke and Simon sit down at a table.]

LUKE: That was the Praetor. Apparently, Jordan lost his cool on a raid at the Hotel DuMort and went AWOL. No one's seen him since.

SIMON: We have to keep looking. Is there something the police can do?

LUKE: [looking out the window, spotting a car with two cops] Um, I don't have too many friends on the force right now. They've had eyes on me ever since Ollie's mom was killed. I can't go anywhere without an escort. I bet you my phone's tapped.

SIMON: I don't know about your phone, but I have an idea how to deal with those cops. 

DAMON: You were on something. 

[JADE WOLF, STORAGE ROOM]

[The room has become dark. Jordan has his eyes closed, Maia's jacket is still on him. Maia herself is sitting next to Jordan.]

MAIA: You know, I never got to thank you.

JORDAN: For what?

MAIA: For saving my life. That vampire was gonna gut me if you didn't get in his way.

JORDAN: It's the least I could do for getting you into this mess. 

HAYEY: It was that manipulative bitch's fault. 

MAIA: It wasn't your fault.

JORDAN: I meant for turning you into a wolf in the first place.

MAIA: We're supposed to be thinking happy thoughts, remember? Besides, I... I know you didn't mean it. So, there's no point in getting into that right now.

JORDAN: Abandoning you after I turned you... I'll never forgive myself for that.

MAIA: We don't have to talk about it.

JORDAN: I just want it on record. Just in case...

MAIA: Jordan, stop.

JORDAN: It's okay. I feel lucky, in a way. I only ever wanted to be by your side.

MAIA: Jordan. Hey.

JORDAN: I wish I could take it all back. You deserve to be so happy, Maia. 

MAIA: Jordan... Jordan? [stroking his cheek] Hey. Hey, I forgive you, okay? I was just confused and sad, and mad at myself for loving you. But it doesn't matter now. Jordan. [sniffles] Jordan, you'll get through this. 

[Maia cries as Jordan doesn't respond.] 

HOPE: Was he dead? 

LUKE: At that time, no. 

[PROMENADE]

[Rose and "Clary" are walking on the promenade. There's a pretzel stand and a market stand selling flowers. "Clary" picks out a rose, smells it and gives it to Rose.]

ROSE: Thank you, but I don't think you're supposed to take those.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: There was no one there to stop me.

ROSE: [chuckling] You some kind of outlaw now?

ACHATIUS as CLARY: You're right. I'm sorry. I think I just forget myself around you. 

REBEKAH: You were getting more and more suspicious. 

[Rose is taken aback by the statement.]

ACHATIUS as CLARY: What's wrong?

ROSE: Nothing, nothing. [sitting down on a bench] I'm, um, I'm... I'm, uh, I'm light-headed. I must be dehydrated.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Oh, I'm so stupid. It's me. I've been running you ragged all over the city.

ROSE: Maybe you can get us something to drink.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Of course. Stay right there.

["Clary" goes to the pretzel stand to get them some beverages. Rose has a look of suspicion on her face. She pricks her thumb on one of the thorns of the rose and watches "Clary's" response. "Clary" feels the prick in her thumb and turns to Rose, she has her back to her now. "Clary" turns back to the pretzel stand, in a reflection, her image of Achatius is visible.] 

ELIJAH: You confirmed, that was Achatius. 

[THE INSTITUTE, MORTUARY]

[Izzy is doing an autopsy on Greenlaw's body. She hovers a machine over the body and there is a beep. She looks on the screen and sees the message "Potential foreign object detected" Cut to Theo who has on his way to meet Izzy. Then Theo's phone rings. Cut to who's talking.]

THEO: Rose?

ROSE: Theo, I'm on the Promenade with Achatius. He's glamoured himself to look like Clary.

THEO: Are you okay?

ROSE: I'm fine. He doesn't know I know. But Clary has gotta be in danger. We were at an ice rink in Chelsea. Achatius must have ambushed her there.

THEO: Just sit tight. I'll find Jace. Then I'm coming for you.

ROSE: I'll deactivate my anti-tracking rune.

THEO: Good idea. Once we find you, you can use your Somnus rune.

ROSE: That'll only sedate him for a minute.

THEO: That's enough time to take him into custody.

ROSE: You are right.

["Clary" has come back to Rose with drinks.]

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Who's that?

[Rose quickly hangs up.]

ROSE: [rising] Uh, Alec.

THEO: Rose?

ROSE: Uh, he's checking on a report. But I told him about your surprise, and he said to take the rest of the day off.

["Clary" thinks about it for a moment, then believes it and hands Rose a drink.] 

JEREMY: You bought the lie. 

ACHATIUS as CLARY: I guess I owe him one. Let's go. Come on.

[They leave the promenade.]

[ANTWERP, GRAVEYARD]

[Magnus and Alec step out of the Portal and it closes after them.]

MAGNUS: New York to Antwerp in seconds. There really isn't a better way to travel.

[They enter the mausoleum. Magnus lights the torches on the walls with his magic.]

ALEC: Let's just grab the Sword and get out of here. Don't touch anything you don't have to.

MAGNUS: Alexander, surely you're not squeamish about seeing a dead body. 

BONNIE: He was squeamish about disturbing a man's grave. 

ALEC: Right. 

ALEC: No. I'm squeamish about disturbing a man's grave.

MAGNUS: Mmm.

[Magnus snaps his fingers and slides the lid off the stone grave in the middle of the mausoleum. It comes to a sudden stop.]

ALEC: Easy.

MAGNUS: Relax.

[Magnus picks up the cloth covering the body. The tries to take the sword that's clenched between the bones of the body, but it doesn't give. Magnus then uses his magic to make the sword fly up into his hand. He takes the sword out of the sheath and examines it.] 

STEFAN: Was that the sword? 

LOUIS: No, it was a fake one. 

ALEC: So, it's the Morning Star sword?

MAGNUS: Nope.

ALEC: What?

MAGNUS: The sheath appears to be authentic. Onyx-plated silver. But the blade, not so much. It's a fake. Someone beat us to it.

[Magnus slides the sword back in the sheath and hands it to Alec.]

ALEC: Achatius? 

KLAUS: No, it's been there for a time. 

MAGNUS: I don't think so. Judging from the cobwebs, it's been at least years.

[Alec takes the sword partly out of the sheath.]

ALEC: There's an inscription.

[Alec reads the Latin inscription out loud.]

MAGNUS: "Sword of Lucifer, whose might will drive the fallen..."

ALEC: "From the many realms of Hell."

MAGNUS: With the real sword, Achatius can summon an army of demons. 

FREYA: You wanted an army of demons to attack heaven. 

Achatius nods. 

[HUNTER'S MOON, OUTSIDE]

[Shot of the cops Mendez and Greer in the car. They watch Luke as he exits the bar and crosses the street.]

MENDEZ: He's on the move. 

[The engine sputters as she tries to turn it on. Both cops get out of the car; Simon disappears stealthily with his vamp speed. The cops see that the pipe on the back of the car is bent.] 

HOPE: Nice way to stall them. 

GREER: What the...

[Cut to Simon who joins Luke in an alley.]

LUKE: Now, where'd you learn how to do that? 

SIMON: Watching movies, really helps.  

SIMON: [chuckling] I've seen a lot of movies.

[ICE RINK]

[Izzy kicks open the door of the building. She, Theo, Jace and Jonathan enter. Jace finds Clary by the lockers, still unconscious.] 

KEELIN: You reached there. 

JACE: [shaking Clary's shoulder] Clary. 

THEO: Achatius used a spell on her. Let me see it. [Theo chants a spell; Clary wakes up] 

ISABELLE: Oh, my God. By the Angel.

[Jace removes the tape from Clary's wrists and mouth.]

CLARY: Where is she? Where's Rose?

JONATHAN: She's with Achatius. He glamoured himself to look like you.

CLARY: Does she know?

ISABELLE: Yes, but we have to move quickly. 

THEO: They're heading north to Harlem.

JACE: Harlem. There's a huge ley line junction up there. He must be trying to get her to his apartment. [they quickly rise] 

HOPE: That was your plan. 

CLARY: If he gets her inside-

THEO: That's not gonna happen. Let's go.

[MAGNUS' APARTMENT]

[The Portal appears and Magnus and Alec step out of it. Magnus immediately starts to gather some of his things.]

MAGNUS: Oh, okay, let's be quick. I have a couple of books that I want to bring that might mention the sword. And it couldn't hurt to take along a few apothecary supplies.

ALEC: Whoa, whoa. What's with all the packing? We can come back after we check in at the Institute.

MAGNUS: [slowing down with the packing] Actually, I don't think that's possible.

ALEC: Why not?

MAGNUS: When Lorenzo gave me my magic back, he did so at a price. 

KOL: Your apartment, that was the price. 

ALEC: Oh, my God. He asked you for your...

MAGNUS: Apartment.

ALEC: Why?

MAGNUS: I wasn't in a position to refuse.

ALEC: I'll kill him. 

A lot of people in the theatre wanted to do the same. 

MAGNUS: Alexander, no.

ALEC: He took advantage of you. He stole your home.

MAGNUS: He didn't steal it. I gave it to him. And if I had to, I'd do it again.

ALEC: I don't understand.

MAGNUS: [looking around the apartment] I've had many, many happy memories in this apartment. But at the end of the day, it's just a thing. But my magic, it makes me feel alive. Yes, I can do fabulous tricks, jet around the world, help the people I love. But more than that... magic connects me to everything around me. Without magic, I feel like a stranger. The world keeps on going... and it's like... It's like I'm not a part of it. It's like, suddenly, I don't matter. 

MAGNUS: For a warlock, magic is everything. 

ALEC: Magnus, of course you matter.

MAGNUS: I know. I know, Alexander. Everyone does. But without magic, I can't feel it. This apartment is not important. I have you and I have my magic. Truly, that's enough. [holding Alec's arm] Please, try and be happy for me. Hmm?

[JADE WOLF]

[Simon and Luke enter and are immediately confronted with the massacre.]

SIMON: Oh, no.

LUKE: It's a massacre.

[Simon's vamp ears pick up Maia's cries.]

SIMON: Maia? Maia?

[Simon speeds through the restaurant and the kitchen and notices the door of the storage room being blocked by a heavy cart. Simon pushes it out of the way and pulls out the entire door. He puts it down against the wall. Maia sees her hero.]

MAIA: Simon.

SIMON:[looking at Jordan] Is he...

MAIA: Alive. Barely.

SIMON: We have to get him up.

[Simon and Maia lift Jordan up.] 

FINN: Finally, they got out of that place. 

[STREETS]

[Rose and "Clary" are walking through the streets.]

ROSE: Where are we going? Why all the secrecy?

ACHATIUS as CLARY: If you really want me to, I'll ruin the surprise. There's a gallery I've read about full of artists I think you'll like. I mean we both will enjoy. It's up here. 

ROSE: [stopping "Clary"] Hey, uh... What's the rush?

ACHATIUS as CLARY: There's no rush.

ROSE: Well, I just... It's so rare we get to spend any girls time alone together. Hmm?

ACHATIUS as CLARY: Are you okay?

ROSE: Perfect.

ACHATIUS as CLARY: You seem a little on edge.

ROSE: Maybe I'm just worried that I won't like your taste in art.

[Rose sees Izzy, Jace, Theo, Jonathan walking up to them. "Clary" turns around and sees them, too. Then Rose attacks him. She pushes him to the ground. Achatius becomes himself again.]

ACHATIUS: I thought we were enjoying our time together. 

ROSE: Ohh, we were. 

[Izzy, Theo, Jonathan and Jace come running towards them. Rose hears Izzy's yelling distantly.]

ISABELLE: Rose! Now! Rose!

[Rose does nothing. Achatius doesn't lose eye contact with her. Then he gets up and flees. Rose stands up and looks where Achatius just disappeared to.] 

ELIJAH: What was that? 

THEO: The thing I was worried about. 

ROSE: The mark. 

CLARY: Are you okay? 

JACE: You had him, Rose.

ROSE: I know.

ISABELLE: What happened?

ROSE: [she looks towards her mark] I don't know.

[JADE WOLF, STORAGE ROOM]

[Simon and Maia drag an unconscious Jordan out of the storage room.]

SIMON: Who did this?

MAIA: We're pretty sure Heidi's behind the attack. She sent a bunch of vamps with silver blades. We have to get him to the Praetor. They're the only ones who can save him.

SIMON: Okay.

[In the restaurant, Luke is closing the eyes of one of his pack members.]

LUKE: Beati Bellicosi.

[Simon and Maia burst through the kitchen doors with Jordan.]

SIMON: Luke. Luke, are you coming?

LUKE: I have to finish the rites. [a police siren is close and stops by the restaurant] Get him outta here. I'll take care of the cops.

SIMON: We have to contact the Institute. We have-

LUKE: Simon, I said I'll handle it. Get him to the Praetor now! 

MATT: Oh, no. 

SIMON: Okay. [to Maia] Get the door.

[Maia quickly opens the kitchen doors so they can go out the back. Luke stands up and faces the door. Then Greer and Mendez enter, shocked.]

GREER: What the...

MENDEZ: Oh, my God. On the ground, Garroway. Hands on your head, face down.

[While Mendez holds Luke at gun point, Greer goes and pushes Luke on the ground, putting handcuffs on him.] 

MATT: You just got arrested for the crime, you didn't even commit. 

[LORENZO'S APARTMENT]

[Previously Magnus' apartment. Lorenzo enters with a smile. Alec is standing in the living room.]

ALEC: You really are despicable, aren't you?

LORENZO: Ah, Mr. Lightwood. What a pleasant surprise. I didn't know you came with this apartment.

ALEC: Oh, that's funny.

LORENZO: It really is a beautiful space wouldn't you agree? The perfect Brooklyn pied-à-terre.

ALEC: You're the High Warlock. You're supposed to protect people like Magnus, not exploit them.

LORENZO: As a matter of fact, I did help Magnus. There's nothing to say that I shouldn't be compensated for it.

ALEC: I've seen your mansion. You don't need this apartment. You just wanted to humiliate him.

LORENZO: Yes, I did. And the fact that he sent his little boyfriend to plead his case tells me I more than succeeded.

ALEC: [approaching Lorenzo] I'm the head of the New York Institute. Don't speak to me like that.

LORENZO: You're right. Perhaps this is getting unnecessarily heated.

ALEC: I want you to give Magnus his apartment back. And I'll make you a deal, a fair one. One not beneath your dignity as a leader.

LORENZO: Let me tell you something about being a leader. When a subordinate comes to question your judgment and launches a fireball in your face, it's your duty to put him in line. Your boyfriend still hasn't accepted that I'm the High Warlock now. Not him. If I had to break his spirit to teach him that, so be it. 

The people were already getting annoyed by him. 

KOL: Can't you just kill him and be over with it. 

ALEC: Enjoy this position while it lasts. The Clave doesn't take kindly to conniving, unethical Downworld leaders. You will slip up. And when you do, I'll be waiting there to take you down.

[Alec exits the apartment through the front door.]

[HUNTER'S MOON]

[Magnus is sitting at the bar, downing his drink.]

BARTENDER: Another, Mr. Bane?

MAGNUS: Oh, no, dear. I believe I am perfectly content.

[Magnus uses his magic to make a 100 dollar bill appear in his hand. He hands it to the bartender.] 

LOUIS: That's a very big tip. 

BARTENDER: Wow. Thanks.

MAGNUS: What can I say? It's a day I will always remember.

BARTENDER: Me, too.

[Magnus leaves the bar in the back, entering an alley. He creates a Portal for himself.]

MAGNUS: Institute, here I come.

[He is about to walk through when he feels under his nose. Blood. He realizes it's the use of Lorenzo's magic.] 

FREYA: The side effect. 

[THE INSTITUTE, MORTUARY]

[Izzy is finishing up the autopsy on Greenlaw. She takes out a chip with the angelic rune from the body.]

[THE INSTITUTE, CLARY'S BEDROOM]

[Rose is sitting on the bed, staring at the flames of the candles. Theo enters.]

THEO: Alec's on his way back with an update about the Morning Star sword.

ROSE: Can't believe I let him go.

THEO: [sitting down next to her] Well, try not to beat yourself up. 

ROSE: I didn't even have to kill him. I just... I had to draw a stupid rune and... I couldn't.

THEO: When Achatius was disguised as Clary, did he... Did he do anything to you?

ROSE: Demon side or not, he will never harm. You know, I should've known. I...

[Rose sighs.]

THEO: We're gonna make this right, Rose. I swear on the Angel. 

ROSE: But how? I lost him, once. And, I don't want to loose him once again. 

THEO: We won't, okay. I am the live witness of your love, you two always seem to find a way back to each other. 

Rose and Achatius smiled at this while Klaus was feeling bad. 

ROSE: I know. But this time it can be more literal. 

THEO: What do you mean? [rises from the bed] 

ROSE: He is definitely planning something. It's like I am starting to feel myself getting drawn in this darkness. 

THEO: What? 

ROSE: It's like that phase all over and it's like I will give in it any time. 

THEO: Hey, it won't happen. You are a fighter, you will fight it. 

ROSE: I don't know. The more time passes I feel the attraction growing.  

HAYLEY: the more reason to remove the mark. 

[Theo sits back down and holds Rose.]

[ACHATIUS' APARTMENT]

[Achatius is staring at the flames of the fireplace. The Seelie Lanaia is standing by the table.]

LANAIA: Ready to play again? I've been practicing.

ACHATIUS: Not now.

LANAIA: You're not still angry with me, are you?

ACHATIUS: Actually, I'm in an excellent mood. I had a breakthrough with my dear Rose. And I have a feeling the real Rose will be joining me much sooner than expected.
