Rosaline opens her eyes and flashes her alpha eyes. She swings her katanas and fearless rune is showed. Theodore's magical bow appears and he stretches its string forming the strength rune. Jonathan is shown showing his demon eyes and his seraph blade appears. He cuts the air and flexibility rune is show. Clary is seen blowing the candles on her birthday cake forming the angelic rune. Jace is seen jumping from a building with eagles surrounding him. He jumps on the ground splashing the water which forms heightened speed rune. Alec is seen a room with healing rune drawn on one of the walls. He aims his arrow. Isabelle is now shown swinging her blade forming the parabatai rune. Simon is seen wiping the blood on his lips in hotel de mort. The whole background turns black and white. Luke is seen with a wall behind him covered with runes and wolves. Magnus is drinking his cocktail. Scene splits and shows Theo and Rose using their magic and flashing their alpha eyes. Then all the runes are shown burning and Rosaline, Theo, Clary, Jace, Jonathan, Alec and Isabelle are shown walking and the title Shadowhunter appears with The Mortal Instruments written below. And the screen turns black

[SHORE]

[Someone comes on the shore of water. He pours blood on the sand of the shore. It forms a circle.]

MAN: Lilith... I summon you. 

KOL: Who the hell is Lilith? 

ACHATIUS: The bitch who gave me birth. 

REBEKAH: You mean your mother. 

[The circle and star made of blood and the sand around it sink into the earth. From the core of the earth, a demon flies up into the world.] 

CAROLINE: Is she a demon? 

ACHATIUS: Yup... making me a half demon. 

[TITLE SCREEN]

[MAGNUS' APARTMENT]

[Magnus opens the door. Luke and Simon are there.]

MAGNUS: What's going on?

LUKE: Maia's gone missing.

MAGNUS: What?

SIMON: She disappeared from the Hunter's Moon. And I think your bestie the Seelie Queen's responsible.

[Magnus lets Simon and Luke in.]

MAGNUS: What would the Queen want with Maia?

SIMON: She has this crazy obsession with me because of the whole Daylighter thing. And then, she invited me to live in her Court, and I said "Thanks, but no thanks", and then she... She threatened to hurt the people I care about.

MAGNUS: She also offered shelter to every Downworlder. 

BONNIE: Maia won't just leave her pack. 

LUKE: That shelter comes with a price. Loyalty to the Queen. Maia wouldn't go for that. And she wouldn't desert her pack.

MAGNUS: Maybe she found a lead on Valentine and is off hunting him down.

LUKE: Without telling me?

SIMON: Come on, Magnus, we're not making this up. She's got Maia.

MAGNUS: My warlocks are on the roof holding the wards up to keep Valentine in the city. I have to go help them, but the next time I see the Queen, I will inquire.

[Magnus pats Simon's shoulder and then takes the stairs to the roof.]

SIMON: Luke, if something happens to Maia because of me–

LUKE: I'm not going to let that happen.

[SEELIE COURT]

[Maia is sitting at a table. The Seelie knights are watching her. The Queen is sitting at the other end of the table. A nymph puts another dish on the already filled table.]

SEELIE QUEEN: Surely you must be starving. Please, eat.

MAIA: I'll pass on the lamb chops and get a ride back to Brooklyn, now.

SEELIE QUEEN: That's not very polite. 

DAVINA: Kidnapping her there was very polite. 

MAIA: Why am I even here?

SEELIE QUEEN: If you don't feel like eating, you don't have to. We can just chat. Tell me about the Daylighter.

MAIA: Simon?

SEELIE QUEEN: We don't have to play pretend. You know him well. He's quite fond of you. As you are of him.

MAIA: And how do you know that?

SEELIE QUEEN: My eyes and ears are everywhere. But there are certain things only a girlfriend would know.

MAIA: [rising up and approaching the Queen] The Downworld is on the brink of annihilation if Valentine gets to that lake. As much as I would love to talk to you about Simon, I really need to get back.

SEELIE QUEEN: I assure you, dear, you are perfectly safe here.

MAIA: I am not talking about me. I'm talking about my pack, my friends–

SEELIE QUEEN: Patience. 

TYELR: You should not talk to a wolf about patience. 

MAIA: Right. Patience isn't really my thing.

[Maia leaps over the shorter end of the table, but she doesn't come far. Vines have strapped around her ankles and are pulling her back.]

SEELIE QUEEN: Take her to the wander-woods.

[THE INSTITUTE, OPS CENTER]

[Alec and Rose pull up a holographic map of the city. Clary, Theo and Jonathan and Jace join him, Rose and Izzy.]

CLARY: Anything new? We tried tracking him together, like we did with for you, but for some reason, it didn't work.

JACE: Magnus' wards are up. Valentine must still be in the city.

ISABELLE: Thank the Angel for Magnus and the warlocks.

ALEC: Well, they didn't raise the wards for us.

THEO: Teams are out doing block-by-block sweeps throughout the city. We'll find him.

[Alec and Izzy go to the other end to the table.]

JACE: [whispering to Clary] Hey, you okay?

CLARY: I thought I'd be happy, if I pushed you away. But I realised there I can't live without you. 

JACE: I don't know I am even saying this but Clary I won't love to live a where you are not there. 

ISABELLE: Oh, I didn't thought I would hear Jace say this. 

JACE: No need to be dramatic, Izzy. 

[Clary puts her hand on Jace's. They both smile a little. Then the alarm suddenly sounds.]

ALEC: Aerial Sensors.

[They all go over to another screen.]

CLARY: Is it Valentine?

ISABELLE: [looking at the red dot going over the map] No. Could be some kind of Wraith demon.

[CITY SKY]

[The demon is flying over the city. Cut to Izzy, Clary, Alec, Theo, Rose, Jonathan and Jace running through the streets. They stop at an intersection.]

JACE: Where is it?

ALEC: It should be right on top of us.

JACE: Alec!

[They see the demon flying between buildings.] 

ISABELLE: I've never seen a demon like that.

THEO: On your six!

[Alec shoots an arrow but misses.]

ISABELLE: Can you see it?

[Everyone circles around, looking at different streets. Waiting for the demon.]

CLARY: What the hell is it waiting for?

JONATHAN: It's coming around for another pass.

CLARY: Alec! Theo! 

[The demon comes flying right at them.]

ALEC: Relax, we got this.

[Alec and Theo shoot their arrow. It's a hit. The demon dissolves into different parts that splatter onto the ground.] 

BONNIE: It dissolved into different parts. 

ISABELLE: Nice.

[They all are taken off guard when the different parts suddenly come to life and turn into several little demons. A policeman gets out of his car.]

POLICEMAN: Hey, who threw something at my car?

[Alec sees a demon climbing up a building.] 

KOL: They were splitting up. 

ALEC: Over there.

ROSE: They're splitting up.

[The demons are climbing up buildings, going down the subway station and disappearing into the streets.]

[SEELIE COURT]

[The Queen is sitting on her throne and declines a beverage that was prepared for her when some nymphs approach her.]

NYMPH: Your Majesty, look who we found. 

JEREMY: It was you coming to save your girlfriend. 

[The nymph steps forward, Luke and Simon are with him.]

SEELIE QUEEN: I assumed you would return, but why is the wolf here? He wasn't invited.

LUKE: Where is she?

SEELIE QUEEN: Safe and sound.

SIMON: Let her go. Now.

SEELIE QUEEN: What's the hurry? She's perfectly fine. Take off your coat. Stay a while. 

BONNIE: Stay a while? 

LUKE: Stay a while? Have you forgotten that Valentine is still on the loose? Every wolf in the city is looking for him. Which is why I'm struggling to understand why you're wasting time kidnapping werewolves when you should be out trying to find him yourself. [pause] Unless you already found him.

[The Seelie Queen loses eye contact with Luke.]

SIMON: Is that what happened? You made a deal with Valentine?

SEELIE QUEEN: He wanted to get past the wards.

SIMON: So you gave him passage to Idris?

SEELIE QUEEN: I wanted to protect my people, even those outside the safety of my realm. We Seelies understand the power of negotiation. 

SIMON: Which can put the rest of us at risk. 

LUKE: Your idea of negotiation is putting the rest of the Downworld at risk. Which is just fine by you, isn't it? That way, you can rule it all by yourself.

SEELIE QUEEN: [chuckles] You flatter me, Lucian.

[The Queen rises and approaches Simon and Luke.]

LUKE: I'm not just telling my wolves, I'm gonna tell the entire Downworld. And when they find out how you betrayed each and every one of us–

SEELIE QUEEN: Go ahead. I have nothing to hide. In the meantime, I would like to have a conversation with the Daylighter.

[Simon looks back at Luke.]

LUKE: I need to find Maia.

[Luke exits.]

[STREETS]

[Alec, Jace, Izzy, Theo, Rose, Jonathan and Clary are walking through the streets. Clary's on her phone.]

ALEC: At least four demons are still unaccounted for. Notify all available personnel.

[Clary hangs up. She has a grim look on her face, Jace and Rose see it.]

JACE: What's wrong? 

ROSE: Is everything okay?

CLARY: [they all stop walking] That was Luke. Valentine's on his way to Idris.

ALEC: What?

ISABELLE: How? 

THEO: (murmuring) Amara. 

CLARY: He made a deal with the Seelie Queen. Luke's warned all the other Downworld leaders.

JONATHAN: Damn Valentine.

ISABELLE: If Valentine gets to that lake–

ALEC: He won't. Malachi's army is armed and waiting for him. 

ELIJAH: Unless, he is also with Valentine. 

CLARY: We need to warn them. Who knows how many Circle members will be there?

ISABELLE: If we lower the wards, these demons could get out, spread beyond the city.

CLARY: Maybe we don't have to lower them. 

ROSE: Our Portal rune can pierce the wards. 

ALEC: We can't all go. The demons need to be dealt with.

ROSE: Clary, Jace, Jonathan and I will go. You three stay here, slay the beasts.

[Izzy, Theo and Alec nod.]

ALEC: Fine. Be careful.

JACE: Likewise. And when am I ever not careful? 

JONATHAN: [scoffed] Always cocky. 

JACE: Rich coming from you. 

Rose sighed and Jonathan rolled his eyes. 

ROSE: We will split up because I still don't trust Malachai, he is also an ex-circle member. There is a good chance, he will try to stop us. 

JACE: You are right. 

JONATHAN: There is a big chance that could happen. 

CLARY: But he can be with us also, we are not sure. 

ROSE: That's why I will be portaling directly to Lake Lyn and Clary will portal at least a far away from the Lake Lyn. You three will meet Malachi and we will know whether he is with us or Valentine. 

ACHATIUS: You were planning on going alone. 

JONATHAN: But if Valentine reaches there before us, you can't go there alone. 

CLARY: He is right, it's dangerous. 

ROSE: I will be careful. 

[Rose draws the Portal rune and she goes through it. Clary draws the Portal rune. A Portal opens up and she, Jonathan and Jace go through it.]

[FOREST]

[Clary, Jonathan and Jace step out of the Portal. The forest is abandoned.]

CLARY: Where's the army?

JACE: We're still a hike away from Lake Lyn. 

ELENA: Looks like you made a little far away a too far away. 

CLARY: I guess my navigation's still off. And I made a little far away, very far away. 

JACE: We need to hurry. We can't let Valentine reach the lake and let Rose tackle him alone. 

JONATHAN: Well, you don't need to worry about that. My demon blood has some perks. Now, you two grab my hand, tightly. 

[ He shows his demon eyes and uses his enhanced speed. They were crossing the woods in super speed. ] 

KOL: Bloody hell. 

DAMON: That's even faster than vampire speed. 

[STREETS]

[Demons are flying in the sky. Cut to the Institute. Izzy and Theo are looking at the city map that is overrun by red dots, demons.]

ALEC: [to another Shadowhunter] Compare that to the others and get back to me.

[Izzy and Theo go to the table where Alec is standing.]

ISABELLE: There's over 50 of them now, with numbers increasing. 

HAYLEY: That's a huge number. 

ALEC: They haven't attacked once. What are they doing?

ISABELLE: I don't know, but demons don't usually come into our realm to sightsee. 

THEO: We need to find the rift where they're coming from and seal it.

ALEC: Can you do it? 

THEO: I can do it but it would every ounce of power inside me. Nobody can do this work alone. We'll also need a warlock. 

ISABELLE: Not just any warlock. The most powerful one in New York.

ALEC: Magnus is not interested in helping the Shadowhunters. He said so himself. 

MAGNUS: But still I helped. 

ISABELLE: He still also thinks the Seelie Queen is on their side. He needs to know about the deal she made with Valentine. 

THEO: Just ask him once, Alec. 

ALEC: Well, not from me. He doesn't want anything to do with me.

ISABELLE: Don't make this personal, Alec.

ALEC: I'm not.

ISABELLE: [grabbing her jacket] If you don't ask him, we will. 

ENZO: You blackmailed them well. 

[Izzy and Theo walk off.]

ALEC: Izzy, Theo, wait.

[Izzy and Theo stop, they smile a little and then turn back to Alec.]

[MAGNUS' APARTMENT]

[Alec knocks on the door. Magnus opens it. Magnus looks around and is about to close the door.]

ALEC: Magnus.

[Magnus sighs and opens the door again.]

MAGNUS: What do you want, Shadowhunter? Is it about the demons?

ALEC: There's something you need to know about the Queen.

MAGNUS: Well, if you've come to tell me that she made a deal with Valentine, I already know.

[Magnus closes the door. Alec holds it back.]

ALEC: Wait. [Magnus opens the door again.] Izzy has located the rift the demons are coming from.

MAGNUS: Oh, and you want me to seal it. What a surprise! Can't Theo or Rose do it. 

ALEC: Rose is not here, plus, Theo can't do it alone. We need a warlock to seal one this severe.

MAGNUS: Duh. 

STEFAN: You are not that easy to convince. 

ALEC: Demons don't discriminate between Downworlder, Shadowhunter, mundane. They kill them all.

[Magnus thinks about it.]

MAGNUS: I'll seal the rift with Theo, but not because of you or the Shadowhunters. Because it'll save lives.

[Magnus closes the door, Alec leaves.]

[FOREST]

[Clary, Jonathan and Jace have sped through the woods and have now come close to the lake. They encounter Malachi's camp. Jace, Jonathan and Clary go to Malachi's tent. Malachi comes out of it.]

JACE: Consul Malachi. Jace Herondale of the New York Institute.

CLARY: Clary Fairchild. 

JONATHAN: Jonathan Morgenstern. 

MALACHI: I know who you are.

CLARY: Valentine is on his way to Lake Lyn. 

JONATHAN: He has the Sword and the Cup.

MALACHI: Yes, I'm quite aware of Valentine's progress. 

CAROLINE: He was speaking as it does not concern him. 

[Clary and Jace share a look. And Jonathan gives them a look.]

JACE: [to Malachi] We need to get to the water. Now.

MALACHI: I'm afraid that's not gonna happen. 

ELIAJAH: As I said. 

[Malachi turns his head to one of the men behind him. This reveals a Circle mark on Malachi's neck.]

JACE: Rose was right, you're a Circle member.

[Clary, Jonathan and Jace are captured by Malachi's men. They're led into Malachi's tent.] 

TYLER: You all got captured. 

CLARY: You can't... Let me go!

JACE: Get off me! 

JONATHAN: Get off me! 

[SEELIE REALM]

[Luke is running through the woods. The night has fallen.]

LUKE: Maia! Maia! Maia!

[Meliorn and another Seelie appear in front of Luke. They point their spears at Luke.]

MELIORN: You are not allowed in the wander-woods.

[Luke grabs Meliorn's spear and hits the other Seelie unconscious. Luke steps forward to Meliorn.]

LUKE: Where is she? Tell me where she is.

[Luke holds up the spear to Meliorn's throat.]

MELIORN: I do not know precisely. The woods are vast, not to mention dangerous for– 

THEO: Poor Meliorn, didn't even get to finish the sentence. 

[Luke knocks Meliorn unconscious with the other end of the spear.]

LUKE: Maia!

[MALACHI'S CAMP, TENT]

[Clary, Jonathan and Jace have been chained to a metal pole. They're sitting with their backs to each other.]

JACE: Do you have any idea how many speeches I've heard Malachi give? How many times I've heard him preach loyalty to the Clave above all else under the Angel? And all along, he's... he's been working with our greatest enemy. 

ROSE: Clave was nothing but pathetic liar. I am not surprised. 

JONATHAN: Rose was right we can't trust anyone. 

CLARY: How does the Consul, the... the leader of the entire Clave, end up a Circle member?

JACE: Valentine threatened to wipe out any Shadowhunters who opposed him. 

DAMON: So he was just saving himself. 

JONATHAN: Malachi's just trying to save his own ass.

CLARY: And sit back while everything around him is destroyed.

[Some soldiers and Malachi enter the tent.]

JACE: [to Malachi] How could you side with him?

MALACHI: There is only one side. The side of the Angels. Valentine is only doing what the Clave has been trying to accomplish for centuries, eradicate demons.

CLARY: No. No, the Angels would never be in favor of killing millions of innocent Downworlders along with demons.

[Malachi kneels down by Clary.]

MALACHI: When Raziel created the first Shadowhunter, there was no such thing as Downworlders. But over the centuries, disgusting half-breeds emerged. Warlocks, vampires, Seelies, werewolves. They banded together, grew more powerful. But finally they will be destroyed. And so will you. 

CAROLINE: He was planning on killing you all. 

[Malachi rises and the soldiers take Clary, Jonathan and Jace outside.]

[THE INSTITUTE]

[Izzy, Alec, Theo and Magnus enter the Ops center and go over to the table.]

ISABELLE: I just spoke with Imogen. Despite her request, there have been no troop movements in and out of Alicante since. When she went to Malachi to see what the holdup was, she was told he'd left suddenly.

MAGNUS: So she believes Consul Malachi is actually a spy for Valentine?

ISABELLE: There is no other explanation. 

THEO: He is a circle member. 

ALEC: Jace, Jonathan, Rose and Clary are in Lake Lyn with Valentine, who knows how many Circle members and no military support.

ISABELLE: We need to go help them.

ALEC: I can't leave when the city is under assault. 

THEO: He is right, I am sure they will take care of themselves. 

[Izzy looks at Magnus.]

MAGNUS: What have you got?

ISABELLE: We've identified the demons as a rare sub-species of adomei.

MAGNUS: Adomei? 

ACHATIUS: Demons from demon. 

ALEC: Familiar with them?

THEO: They're from Edom. 

MAGNUS: Tenacious little devils.

ISABELLE: So we've noticed.

MAGNUS: And remarkably intelligent, capable of creating carnage in any number of ways.

ALEC: Yet they haven't attacked once. What are they waiting for? 

MAGNUS: They work in hordes. 

THEO: Perhaps they're increasing their numbers to reach a critical mass.

ISABELLE: All the more reason to get this rift closed as soon as possible.

[Izzy zooms in on the city on the screen.]

ISABELLE: Their entry point appears to be here, near Croton Point.

ALEC: How long will this take? Jace, Jonathan, Rose and Clary are alone in enemy territory.

THEO: Not long. 

ISABELLE: We need to move.

[SHORE]

[Alec, Izzy, Theo and Magnus jump out of a Portal.]

ALEC: This is definitely the right place. [noticing something in the sand] What is that?

ISABELLE: Blood. Where did all the demons go?

MAGNUS: I'm not sure. They just don't normally fly off into the sunset. 

KOL: I don't know why but this is funny. 

[They approach the big hole in the sand and look down.]

ALEC: Well, let's not stick around until they make an appearance.

MAGNUS: The amount of energy required to seal a rift from Edom is substantial. 

THEO: It's not just a flick of the wrist.

ALEC: You two gonna be okay?

MAGNUS: I'm the High Warlock of Brooklyn. 

THEO: Don't worry brother, this isn't the first time I have deal something like this. 

ROSE: We have dealt worse. 

[Magnus and Theo use their magic in the hole. A demon flies up out of it, hitting Izzy on the way out.]

ALEC: Izzy!

ISABELLE: Go! I'm all right.

MAGNUS: [to Alec] Cover us!

[Magnus and Theo start working on the hole again as Alec starts running towards the demon. Alec grabs an arrow, shoots, and misses. The demon charges for him and starts flying towards him.] 

REBEKAH: This was just getting worse. 

ALEC: Magnus! [Magnus and Theo are close to closing the hole.] Theo!

[The demon shoots fire at Alec. They're getting closer to Magnus and Theo.] 

HOPE: They were so close. 

ALEC: Magnus! Theo!

[Theo turns around, and shoots a fireball at the demon, that dissolves into multiple small ones. Magnus and Theo get back to closing the hole, while Alec shoots arrows at the little demons. Izzy takes the last one with her whip. Alec sees Magnus and Theo struggling and Magnus falls to the ground. Alec runs towards him.]

ALEC: Magnus. Magnus.

[Alec puts a hand on his shoulder. Magnus looks at Alec.]

MAGNUS: You can't get rid of me that easily. 

ALEC: Of course, now we are stuck with each other for life time. 

[SEELIE REALM]

[Luke is walking through the wander-woods.]

LUKE: Maia! Maia, where the hell are you?

MAIA: Luke!

LUKE: Maia! You all right?

[Maia walks towards Luke.]

MAIA: They took me out here. I've just... felt like I've been wandering around here forever. 

ISABELLE: That's the wander woods. 

SIMON: Maia!

MAIA: You came, too!

[Simon and Maia hug. Then the Seelie Queen and some soldiers appear, too.]

SEELIE QUEEN: Simon is quite valiant and chivalrous, unlike any of the other Night Children I've ever known. You're all free to leave. My servant will escort you out of the Court to safety.

[The Queen opens her hand and a little yellow bug flies out of it.]

LUKE: What's the catch? 

ELIJAH: She won't just let you go. 

SEELIE QUEEN: What makes you think there is one? 

SIMON: I made a deal with her. 

SIMON: Luke, let's just go.

LUKE: Nothing here ever comes for free. You never do anything out of the kindness of your heart. Hell, you were gonna sell the entire Downworld–

MAIA: Let's just get out of here while we still can.

SEELIE QUEEN: She's a smart one. You should listen to her. Before I change my mind.

SIMON: Come on.

[The trio starts to follow the little bug.]

[LAKE LYN] 

[ Rose was there. She was searching for Valentine. Suddenly, he appears behind her and was about to attack her but she senses it and dodges the attack. ] 

KLAUS: He is a coward. 

ROSALINE: Father. 

VALENTINE: Ah, Rosaline, always the bravest and smartest of all. But you think you can stop me? 

ROSALINE: I do. 

[ They fight. None of them were loosing. ] 

HOPE: None of you were losing. 

VALENTINE: I know I can't defeat you, daughter. But I am sorry for what am I about to do. 

CAROLINE: I don't like the sound of this. 

[A circle member hits her head hard and and she was unconscious. A warlock opens the portal and Valentine throws Rose inside the portal.] 

ACHATIUS: He threw you unconcisious in a portal! Unbelievable! 

KOL: That was a limbo in which you will be stuck forever. 

ROSE: Damn right. 

VALENTINE: I am sorry daughter but this has to be done. 

JACE: Sorry, my foot. 

[FOREST]

[Jace, Jonathan and Clary are chained up and being held down by Malachi's soldiers.]

JACE: [to Clary] It's gonna be okay.

CLARY: How? 

JONATHAN: Don't worry, sister. 

MALACHI: Your father won't approve, but he'll understand your deaths were a necessary sacrifice. 

FREYA: For a massacre which isn't worth it. 

CLARY: For mass genocide? You're the Consul of the Clave. How can you let this happen?

MALACHI: Cleanse the world of demons? How can I not? Proceed!

JACE: No!

[Clary's head is put down on a tree stump. A man with an axe steps forward. It all happens in slow motion.]  

DAVINA: It was happening in slow motion. 

[Jace's eyes light up. And Jonathan shows his demon eyes. They suddenly break lose from their chains as the man swings the axe up. Jace and Jonathan get up and fight off Malachi's army, stabbing Malachi in the process. Jonathan grabs the axe and Clary gets up quickly. She breaks off her chains. Clary, Jonathan and Jace fight the remaining soldiers, and kill them. Jace looks down at Malachi, who's lying on the ground.] 

Clary smiled as Jace and Jonathan saved her. 

MALACHI: Wait, please. Wait. 

REBEKAH: Now, he was begging for his life. He deserved to die. 

JONATHAN: And he died. 

[Jonathan kills him. He turns to Clary, she comes running at Jace. They embrace.]

JACE: Are you okay? You okay? We have to go.

[They run off.]

[THE INSTITUTE, OPS CENTER]

[Alec is watching the map of the city. Magnus approaches him.]

MAGNUS: Any word from Jace, Rose, Jonathan and Clary?

ALEC: No. They should be arriving at Lake Lyn by now.

[Izzy approaches them.]

ISABELLE: Strange. The aerial Sensors show no demonic activity.

ALEC: Yeah, there's nothing on the ground, either. It's like the adomei completely disappeared.

MAGNUS: I've never heard of that. Once they pass through the rift, the demons are here to stay until they're properly banished. 

FINN: Then, where are they? 

ACHATIUS: Preparing for my mother's grand scheme. 

ALEC: Then where the hell are they?  

THEO: That's the problem. 

[FOREST]

[Clary, Jonathan and Jace are running to Lake Lyn. No one is there.] 

FINN: No one was there. 

CLARY: Are we too late?

JACE: No. No, if he'd raised the Angel, we'd know it. We beat him here. We can stop him. 

JONATHAN: Where is Rose? 

CLARY: What if Valentine did something? 

JONATHAN: No, she should be fine. 

[They smile at each other. Then Jace and Jonathan turn around and are suddenly stabbed by Valentine in the heart. They both look down at the knife and then up at Valentine.] 

All of them gasped. 

Some of them were in tears remembering the pain. 

CAROLINE: He is a monster. He killed his own children. 

KLAUS: He is just like Mikael. 

VALENTINE: I'm sorry, sons. I had to. 

[Cut to the Institute. Alec grunts and gasps as he feels Jace's pain going through his own body. Magnus turns away from the screen and to Alec.] 

BONNIE: You were also feeling the same pain. 

ALEC: Due to parabatai bond I was feeling his pain. 

MAGNUS: Alexander, you okay?

[THE LIMBO] 

[Rose is pulled into a memory.] 

[She was getting ready for ball. A girl comes and enters the room.]

Theo and Achatius recognized her. 

ELENA: Who is she? 

ROSE: My bestfriend and soul sister Elizabeth. 

THEO: My ex-girlfriend and first love. 

JONATHAN: She is the girl who you talked about. 

Theo nodded. 

ISABELLE: How many secret exes do you have brother? 

THEO: Only two, if you talk about relationship. 

ELIZABETH: Till when, are you keeping your feelings in your heart. Just confess it. 

A wave of jealousy hit Klaus. 

ACHATIUS: I remember the ball, I can never forget this. 

REBEKAH: And let me guess, Rose had feelings for you. 

ACHATIUS: Might wanna change that had to has. 

ROSE: It's not that simple. What if he not feels the same way? What if I ruin everything? 

ELIZABETH: You were the one who gave Theo a big lecture on the l-word. Trust me, he feels the same way. The almighty Rosaline Morgenstern is afraid of saying the thing her heart says. 

Rose smiled at this memory. She was missing her best friend. 

People from The Vampire Diaries universe were surprised that Rose loved someone else apart Klaus Mikaelson. 

ROSE: Fine, I will say. 

[BALLROOM] 

[Achatius was drinking and Theo comes there.] 

THEO: So, when are you gonna tell Rose? 

ACHATIUS: What? 

ISABELLE: That you love her. 

THEO: Oh, don't act like you don't know what I am talking about. You love her just say it.  

ACHATIUS: It's not that simple. 

MAGNUS: You two say the same thing also. 

THEO: You are afraid of confessing your feelings or you are afraid of rejection? 

KOL: Both you were really insecure. 

ACHATIUS: Really, you are my brother, just give some good advice. 

THEO: Say what is in your heart. 

ACHATIUS: And you two were playing cupid. 

THEO: You and Rose also played the same in our part. 

[Rosaline comes with Elizabeth and Achatius is staring at her.] [Devotion by Hurts plays in background.] 

Klaus eyes' also get fixed on the screen. 

REBEKAH: You were looking marvellous. 

CLARY: Really, you were looking breathtaking. 

ROSE: Thanks. 

THEO: Will you just stare or do something? Look, I am going to get my girl you get yours. 

[Achatius goes there and they interlock their hands. They head to the place where all couples were about to dance. They dance very gracefully, even when all the couples have danced they were dancing and all of them were looking at them.] 

All of them were watching them in awe. 

[Finally, Rose bends a little back on Achatius' hand and Achatius leans in and they make eye contact. A flash of all their time spent together is shown in a high speed. They kiss.] 

ACHATIUS: I love you, Athena. 

ROSE: I love you too. 

Jealousy overtook Klaus, he was angry but Rose gave him a look. He calmed down and knew he should not react. He wanted to go back in time and change the moment where he cheated on her. But the question was he never understood why he did that. That whole moment was blur and he didn't knew that until Rose caught him and Hayley together. He wanted to explain her but she left before. 

[Theo and Elizabeth kissed and were smiling while drinking the vodka.] 

[Cut to the limbo, it was a white room and Rose's body was attached to magical wires which was holding her. She regains conscious. A few people surround her.] 

ALEC: That is how it really looks. 

DAVINA: It's really creepy. 

ROSE: Where am I? 

WOMAN: In the limbo. 

MAN: And you are stuck here, forever. 

WOMAN 2: Lost forever in your memories. 

MAN 2: And your world will remember you as, Rosaline Morgenstern, the girl who had power but couldn't save the ones who she loved.  

JONATHAN: Which is the biggest lie I have ever heard. 

JACE: I never thought I would say this but you are right. 

WOMAN 3: A pathetic, helpless, powerless girl. 

MAN 3: Who is nothing more than a failure. 

WOMAN 4: All the people you love will die and you won't be able to do anything. 

ROSE: The last person who tried to play these little games with me, it didn't end well for him and I am done playing your mind games. 

 KOL: What do you mean by before? 

ROSE: I was possessed by a thousand year old evil dark spirit who played the similar games with me. 

MOST OF THEM: What? 

THEO: It's a tale for another time. For now let's just watch this. 

[She screamed and her eye ball turn red. She was using all her force to break the magical wires.]

ROSE: I am the Alpha and you can't hold me in these. [The others were shocked. Her body was glowing.] 

DAVINA: What was happening? 

ROSE: I was just unlocking a power source in me which existed there and I didn't knew. In short words, my powers increased. 

[Cut back to the Institute, Alec was screaming. Theo feels a sudden pull, he also uses his energy and his body was glowing. He was grunting. His red eyes are focused. Cut back to the limbo. Rose was using all her force. Her eyes were starting to have a golden hue, a golden mist was all around her body, her eyes turns golden-red. Cut back to the Institute. Theo's eyes also turn golden-red.] 

TYLER: The same thing happened to him also. 

ISABELLE: What just happened? 

THEO: I don't know but it's like something inside me unlocked. Rose. 

[Alec was still in pain. Cut back to limbo. Rose breaks all the wires and her body glows. She turns normal.] 

WOMAN 1: It's not possible. 

ROSE: Darling, you have no idea what's possible. [She rises in air and her golden red magic was about to blast.]  

CAROLINE: You were a badass queen there. 

[Cut back to the lake. Jace and Jonathan fall to the ground. Valentine pulls the daggers out. Cut back to the Institute. Alec pulls up his shirt, his parabatai rune is burning.] 

MATT: It was burning. 

ISABELLE: His parabatai rune. 

THEO: No. 

ALEC: It's...

[Alec gets a flashback of his young self and young Jace. Young Alec shoots and arrow at a target, but misses and almost hits young Jace.]

ALEC: Jace.

[Flashback to the moment Alec and Jace became parabatai. In the present, Alec falls to the ground. In another flashback, Alec and Jace hug multiple times.] 

Their eyes were moist at this scene. 

[LAKE LYN]

[Clary runs to Jace and Jonathan, crying.]

JACE: I'm so sorry, Clary. 

JONATHAN: Tell, Theo, I am sorry. 

CLARY: Oh, hey, you two save your breath, okay? Don't say anything. You two need your strength. [Jace and Jonathan nod.] It's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay.

[Jace and Jonathan are crying, too.]

JACE: I love you.

CLARY: Don't close your eyes. Jace, Jonathan, don't close your eyes. Hey, no! Stay with me. Please stay with me. Please. Just look at me. Just look at me. 

HOPE: This is heart breaking. 

[Cut to the Institute. Alec is gasping for air. Magnus, Theo and Izzy have kneeled down by him. Alec pulls up his shirt again. The parabatai rune is gone.] 

ENZO: They were dead. 

ALEC: I... I can't feel him. He's dead.

[Cut back to the lake.]

CLARY: No. No.

[Clary screams, it's inaudible. Valentine is standing by the water.]

CLARY: [sobbing] Jace, Jonathan, come back, please! Come back.

VALENTINE: Clarissa, I... I'm sorry. I had no choice. The four of you together are too dangerous. Rose is lost forever in limbo and they are dead. 

[Clary lifts her head up, she's angry. She grabs her blade and runs towards Valentine. Valentine gets a punch in, landing Clary on the ground unconscious.]

[LIMBO] 

[Rose bursts her magic and the walls crack. She feels Jace and Jonathan dying, her eyes welled up and she screams which destroys the limbo in which she was.] 

MAGNUS: You destroyed it. 

[LAKE LYN]

[Clary wakes up on the grass. She's chained up again. She sees Jace and Jonathan lying there.]

CLARY: Ave atque vale.

[She sees Valentine taking the Cup. Clary sits up. Valentine walks to the lakeside, the Cup in one hand, the Sword in the other.] 

HAYLEY: Oh no. 

CLARY: Stop!

[Valentine turns to Clary. He puts the Sword against a rock and the Cup on it.]

VALENTINE: Oh, good, you're awake. Just in time to see history being made.

CLARY: You killed Jace and Jonathan. How could you?

VALENTINE: I'm certain they would have stopped me if I hadn't. Clarissa, I loved those boys like I loved Jocelyn. See, their deaths were necessary sacrifices, if I'm gonna save humanity. 

STEFAN: Humanity? 

CLARY: Don't lie to me. You've never loved anyone but yourself.

[Valentine sighs and approaches Clary. He kneels down by her.]

VALENTINE: If that were true, then why do you think I've kept you alive?

[Valentine goes back to the rock and takes the Sword and the Cup again. He steps into the Lake. He lets both the Sword and the Cup go into the water. Thunder starts rumbling.]

VALENTINE: Raziel, hear me! I call upon the Mortal Instruments and summon you into this mortal realm! 

DAMON: He summoned the angel. 

[Out of the water, Raziel flies up. Light shines from him, he keeps floating a few feet above the water. Further in the woods, a Portal opens up. Alec, Izzy, Theo and Magnus get out. They see the light in the sky.]

ISABELLE: We're too late.

MAGNUS: He's raised the Angel.

ALEC: Magnus, you need to get to safety.

MAGNUS: We need to find Jace, Rose, Jonathan and Clary.

[They start running. Cut back to the lake. Clary looks at Jace and Jonathan.]

CLARY: Your stele...

[Clary starts crawling slowly towards Jace's body.]

RAZIEL: It has been a thousand years since I was last summoned to this place. Why do you summon me now, Nephilim?

VALENTINE: My Lord Raziel, the great men and women in the lineage of Shadowhunters, which you have created here, have failed in their mission to rid this world of demon scum.

RAZIEL: I see you are impatient. What is it you ask of me?

VALENTINE: Immediate death of all evil-blooded creatures, demon and Downworlder alike, as well as the disloyal Shadowhunters who protect them.

RAZIEL: The destruction of the souled creatures of the Downworld, and of our own Nephilim, that is not Heaven's wish. 

ACHATIUS: Definitely not. 

VALENTINE: What?

RAZIEL: But thou who spills thy blood, thou shalt compel from me an action. 

KLAUS: He had to spill his blood. 

[Valentine takes out a small knife. Meanwhile, Clary has found Jace's stele in his pocket. She unchains herself using the stele and just in time grabs Valentine before he can cut himself to spill the blood. Raziel's light disappears as Clary and Valentine fight. Valentine throws Clary onto the ground and grabs a rock.] 

HOPE: He was about to kill you too. 

CLARY: Not if I killed him first. 

VALENTINE: I've worked too long, I've sacrificed too much to let anyone stand in my way. Even my own daughter.

[Valentine is about to throw the rock on Clary's head as Clary sees Valentine's knife on the ground. Just as Valentine throws the rock, she rolls to the side and grabs the knife. She cuts Valentine's neck and then pierces his heart. She stabs him again and again. Then she kicks him to the ground. Valentine is dead.]

BONNIE: Thank god you killed him. He needed to die. 

[A portal opens and Rose comes out of it. She sees Raziel and then, Jace and Jonathan's dead body. Then, she sees Valentine dead.] 

CLARY: Please. 

[Rose runs to the lakeside and makes a cut in her hand. She lets the blood drip into the lake. Raziel opens his wings again and spreads the light.] 

ELENA: You were the one who was going to make a wish. 

RAZIEL: Rosaline, my blood...

ROSE: I don't want Downworlders to die. Please, you can't let them die. I want another wish.

RAZIEL: You may compel me to one action, Rosaline Morgenstern. What is it that you ask?

[She closes her eyes and sees all the moments she spent with Achatius. She also sees a child giggling and she and Achatius playing with him.] 

JEREMY: Who was the baby? 

CLARY: You will see. 

RAZIEL: If you have a desire, ask me now. And be wise. I will grant but one.

ROSE: [looking back at Jace and Jonathan's body] My brothers. [turning back to Raziel] Bring Jace and Jonathan back. Please. 

RAZIEL: You didn't changed, even, in twenty years, dear. Always, selfless. I know what you wanted to ask but sometimes it's not necessary to ask to get things you want. Sometimes, destiny plays game and gives you what you want but you have to prove you are worthy of it. 

HOPE: He was talking in riddles. 

ROSE: He was and what it meant, I understood later. 

[Then, Raziel disappears. All the light is gone. Rose runs over to Jace and Jonathan.]

ROSE: Jace... Jonathan...

CLARY: Jace... Jace.

[Slowly, Jace's head turns to Clary and Jonathan's head to Rose. Clary and Rose smile as they opens their eyes.] 

REBEKAH: And here you two were back on the land of living. 

JACE: Are you two okay? 

JONATHAN: Is everything...

CLARY: Oh, my God. 

ROSE: Thank the angel. 

[Jace and Jonathan look over at Valentine's body.]

JACE: What happened?

CLARY: You two're alive. [helping Jace sit up] Valentine raised the Angel. Rose used the wish to bring you two back.

JACE: You could have had anything else in the world... 

JONATHAN: And you chose us.

ROSE: I don't want anything else in the world, except, my family.

JACE: Bringing people back... 

JONATHAN: There's always a consequence.

CLARY: Not this time. This is a miracle. Okay? It's a... a gift granted by the Angel.

[Clary kisses Jace. He kisses her back. Jonathan and Rose hugged. Rose walks towards Valentine's dead body. She places her hand over his chest.] 

STEFAN: What were you planning on doing? 

ROSE: Giving my father what he deserves. 

JONATHAN: What are you doing? 

ROSE: This man gave me the worst pain in my life. He tried to snatch my family and now, I will give him what he deserves. He will never have peace. He will be stuck forever in darkness which will have no end. 

DAMON: That sounds like an appropriate punishment to Papa Morgenstern. 

[Alec, Izzy, Theo and Magnus appear at the lakeside. They see Valentine's body, and Jace and Clary kissing. Jonathan and Rose were standing. Theo runs towards Jonathan and kisses him.]

ALEC: They're okay!

ISABELLE: Actually, they're more than okay. 

They chuckled at this. 

[Jace gets up.]

ALEC: Jace, I... I thought you were dead. My rune, it disappeared.

JACE: Look at it now.

[Alec pulls up his shirt. The rune is there again.]

ALEC: How?

JACE: I don't know. 

FREYA: You weren't planning on telling him the truth. 

THEO: But it doesn't explains what happened to me? 

ROSE: Valentine threw me in a limbo and I broke it, which probably unlocked some sort of power inside us. 

MAGNUS: You broke a limbo, it's impossible. 

ROSE: Well, this is not the first time something impossible happened, but it's better to leave some questions without answer. 

[They all look at Valentine's body.]

ALEC: It's over. 

THEO: It was the start of something worse. 

JACE: Yeah.

[Jace and Alec embrace. Rose and Theo embrace.]

[HUNTER'S MOON]

[Everyone cheers as Luke pops a bottle of champagne. There's a big group of Downworlders and Shadowhunters all laughing and celebrating. They all raise their glass.] 

KOL: Now after saving the world, finally you were partying. 

LUKE: To the Downworld!

ALL: To the Downworld!

LUKE: To the Shadowhunters!

ALL: To the Shadowhunters!

ISABELLE: [to Clary] You know, I really wish Max was here. 

CLARY: I know. But the important thing is, he's gonna be okay. He has an amazing family to look out for him. And so do I. I hope you forgive Jonathan over time. 

ISABELLE: I will, plus, my brother likes him, we should really give him another chance. You know, I grew up surrounded by brothers, and now, got another, who I love with all my heart. But deep down, I've always wanted a sister.

CLARY: I wanted too until I realised I have one. But I don't have problem in getting another. 

They smiled at the sister bonding.  

[They both smile and chuckle and clink their glasses. After they've taken a sip, Izzy gives Clary a nod. Clary turns around and sees Simon. Izzy leaves the two to talk.]

SIMON: I'm really glad you're here, Fray. And you do realize that this party would have been a funeral if it weren't for you.

CLARY: I'm just glad it's over. And I'm... I'm really glad we're friends again. Best friends? [shaking his shoulder] I need you in my world, Simon Lewis. [Simon looks down at her hand on his shoulder] I'm sorry, is that weird of me?

SIMON: It's... No, not at all. Trust me, I feel the same way.

CLARY: Okay, good. Uh, by the way... [turns so Simon can see the bar] someone is looking for you.

[They both look at Maia standing at the bar.]

SIMON: Oh. Don't mind if I do.

[Simon goes over to Maia.]

SIMON: Hey.

MAIA: Hey! Can I get you something to drink?

SIMON: Yes! Let's make... let's make this one a double. We're celebrating.

MAIA: [to bartender] Double O-neg for the gentleman.

SIMON: Gentleman? Nobody calls me that. 

They laughed at this. 

[They both chuckle.]

MAIA: So, you have to tell me...

SIMON: [taking his drink] Uh, tell you what?

MAIA: Why the Seelie Queen let us all go.

SIMON: I told you. Because I am extremely persuasive when I want to be.

MAIA: Come on, I'm serious.

SIMON: So am I. I mean, I'm not gonna go making up a story to the girl that I'm... you know, dating. 

DAMON: And still you were lying. 

[Maia smiles, and she and Simon kiss.]

SIMON: I wish I could stay. But I have to go back to the DuMort. Raphael wants me to, uh, you know, fill in the vamps about everything that went down.

MAIA: Okay. Then call me tomorrow?

SIMON: Yeah, totally.

[They hug.]

SIMON: I'll see you soon.

MAIA: Okay.

[Simon leaves. Maia looks at some other guests. She spots Jace at the bar, he looks back at her.]

MAIA: What?

JACE: Nothing. You guys look good together.

MAIA: Yeah, we do, don't we? [approaching Jace] You and Clary look good together, too.

[Jace smiles. Cut to Theo and Jonathan.] 

THEO: You know, you can't lie to me. I know exactly, what happened there. 

JONATHAN: How? 

THEO: My parabatai. She felt you too die, so do I. You know, I was so scared to loose you. 

JONATHAN: I can't loose you, too. The time I died, I was only thinking about you, why do yo love me, a monster? 

THEO: You are not a monster, you are just misunderstood. The first time, I saw you in that Sebastian boy's body, your eyes intrigued me. I think there is something between us. 

JONATHAN: I feel it too. So, Theodore Lightwood, will you be my boyfriend? 

They smiled at the scene. 

THEO: I would love, too. 

[They lean in and kiss.] 

JONATHAN: How about we escape this place? 

THEO: I love your tone and the idea rings nice to me. 

[They leave.]

[Alec approaching Magnus who's drinking a cocktail.]

ALEC: Hey.

MAGNUS: Hey.

ALEC: You look like you got your energy back.

MAGNUS: Mmm. My go-to home remedy after a major magic-depletion. Boiling hot bath, eight-ounce steak, medium-rare, and... [looking at his drink] a lot of these. Any sign of demons?

ALEC: None. Sensor maps are completely clear of Wraith demons. It's the strangest thing. It's like they disappeared into thin air.

MAGNUS: Well, then we can take this moment. To celebrate.

[Magnus holds up his glass. Alec clinks it with his beer. Alec hesitates, he doesn't take a sip.]

ALEC: Can we talk?

MAGNUS: Yeah.

[Alec walks to the back. Magnus downs his drink and follows Alec outside.]

ALEC: Magnus, I'm sorry.

MAGNUS: Don't apologize.

ALEC: No, I should've told you about the Soul-Sword–

MAGNUS: It's in the past.

[pause]

ALEC: Magnus, ever since our... fights, I... Well, I can't... I can't think straight.

MAGNUS: Well, I can't do anything without... thinking of you.

ALEC: Magnus, I... [stepping closer] I don't think I can live without you.

MAGNUS: I thought I had to choose between you and the Downworld... but I don't. A wise man once told me... [imitating Alec] "Relationships take effort". 

They laughed at this. 

[They both chuckle.]

ALEC: Yeah. Well, that was an understatement.

MAGNUS: You know what's not an understatement?

[They both step closer. They kiss, and smile.] 

CAROLINE: Well, everyone was getting to lovey dovey. 

MAGNUS: I'm all into parties, but what do you say we get out of here?

ALEC: Yes.

[They walk off together.]

[HUNTER'S MOON]

[Clary approaches Jace who's sitting at the bar.]

CLARY: There you are.

JACE: Hey. 

MAX: I am the only one who is single. I want to be in a relationship. 

Everyone laughed at this. 

MAX: I wasn't joking. 

CLARY: So, um... today at the lake, when Alec asked you about dying... Why didn't you tell him what happened?

JACE: Some things are just better left unsaid.

CLARY: Is something wrong?

JACE: No. No, I mean, look around. You know, we did it. We won. Everything's good. Just, uh... just for now, can you, can you keep this between us? I am sure Rose also agrees. 

CLARY: [putting a hand on his shoulder] Yeah, of course.

JACE: Thank you.

LUKE: Clary! Come here.

CLARY: Hi.

[Clary and Luke hug and laugh.]

LUKE: Oh, there we go. Yeah. Jace, come on, bring it in.

[Luke approaches Jace but Jace pulls back with a smile.]

JACE: No, no. Whoa, whoa! Ah, wet dog, man, wet dog. 

LUKE: Was that an insult? 

JACE: Really? 

LUKE: I'm sticky, I know.

JACE: You are sticky.

LUKE: I am coming back for you, though. I will come for you, sir.

[Luke turns around and Ollie is suddenly standing in front of him.]

LUKE: Oh.

OLLIE: The sign outside said "private party", so I used your name. 

BONNIE: I think this is a private party. 

LUKE: Ollie, this is a private party–

OLLIE: We need to talk.

LUKE: Sure, okay. Uh, sure. What do you... What do you wanna talk about?

OLLIE: I was wondering... How long have you been a werewolf? 

TYLER: You had some serious explanation to do. 

[Rose was standing outside the bar and a lone tear falls from her eyes. She looks at her bracelet and smiles a little.] 

[SEELIE COURT]

[Simon enters. The Queen sits up on her throne and looks up from her book.]

SEELIE QUEEN: I knew you were a man of your word.

SIMON: For better or for worse.

SEELIE QUEEN: We are going to have so much fun together. 

THEO: I know that tone. 

[HUNTER'S MOON]

[Jace exits the bar. He's breathing heavily. He falls to the ground. He struggles with himself.] 

BONNIE: You were right about the start of something worse. 

[CAVE]

[Up on the ceiling of the cave, the little demons are asleep. They open their eyes and fly into the ground, into the cracks. Achatius' dead body has been transported into the cave. He's lying in the sand. All the demons have merged into a woman. She approaches Achatius and kneels down by him. A demonic hand strokes his cheek.] 

Achatius rolled his eyes on the scene. 

DAMON: So, I am guessing that is your mommy. 

ACHATIUS: She is not my mother, she is the one who gave me birth. 

LILITH: I always loved you son and one day, you will understand it. 

ROSE: She is even more pathetic than my father.
