" Simon, I think Jace can help us. " Clary holds Simon's hand.

" Come on. " Clary started dragging him. 

" How do we know this Mick Jagger looking guy is even gonna try... " Jace cuts him in between. 

" I love the nickname, Simon. " Theo commented. 

" Mundane, we do not have the time. "

" Come on, Simon. Let's go. " Clary, Jace and Simon went inside. Jace used his stele to retrace a rune on his hand. 

" I know. Trust me. " 

" He's like burning himself. " 

" You guys burn yourself. " Caroline asked. 

" Its called retracing rune. It hurts a little but we get used to the pain. " Izzy answered. 

" Buddy, what's going on man... I am not even your type man. I don't even... " Simon gets cut off when the old abandoned church turns into the institute. He watches in awe. " Where are we? " He stammered. " What the hell? Clary is there a war going on that I don't know about? " 

" There is now. " Jace walks inside. 

" And I think my mother is at the center of it. " Clary walked inside.

" You coming? " 

" Yeah. What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here. What would they do, rob a tech shop? " Jace shows the CCTV footage. " So this cold blooded killer is gonna help us? " 

" He is not a killer. He is protecting us. " 

" Specifically, you. It's a sort of our thing. " 

" Your thing. You guys have a thing? " 

" He means a Shadowhunter thing. That's what they do protecting humans from demons. " 

" Demons right. That makes perfect sense. 'cause there are demons running all around New York. " 

" That's first correct thing you have said all day. " He shows them a map and they see the footage again. 

" Jace, you don't have to be so mean. " Achatius said. 

" Won't they find us? " Clary asked.  

" No. Our wards will deter them. And the NYPD will do their typical mundie thing for a few hours and then, the area will be clear. " Alec comes from behind. 

" What is going on? Why is there a mundane in the Institute? " Alec asked. 

" And here goes Alec being Alec again. " Theo said and Izzy chuckled. 

" Big Brother? " Alec asked in a sighing tone. 

" A circle member followed him to get to Clary. " Jace sighed and answered. 

" A circle rune, just like the guys that took my mother. " 

" What exactly is a circle member and why are they trying to kill us? " Simon asked.  

" All we know is a long time ago the Circle led a revolt. A lot of Shadowhunters got killed... including my father. " Jace answered. 

" Or so I thought. " Jace said. 

" What do you mean by this? " Kol asked in curiosity. 

" You will see. No spoilers. " Jace answered back. 

" And since the revolt, we have been forbidden to even hear about the Circle. " Alec continued. 

" But how is that possible? It's your history. " Clary asked and Jace scoffed. 

" Says the girl who didn't knew she was a Shadowhunter? " 

" Yeah. Yeah, you are right. And now the only person who knows the truth is missing, so I don't care about your rules or what is forbidden, I am... There is gotta be someone who can tell us, why they have taken my mother. " 

" There is. You coming? " 

" Yeah. " 

" No, no, no. Not you. " 

" Hey, we are a package deal. "  

" Yeah. "

" There are runes all over the training room floor that would kill your mundie boyfriend. " 

" You were lying, weren't you? " Bonnie asked but instead of answer Jace just chuckled. 

" He is not my... " 

" I am not, like... " Clary and Simon said at the same time. " We are, uh, just friends. " 

" Best friends. " Clary added. 

" Yeah, and I am tough. I can handle runes. So, uh, bring on the runes. What exactly are runes? " 

" You look cute when you are clueless. " Hayley commented. 

" Thanks. " Simon blushed but hid it as he noticed Izzy's glare. 

" They give Shadowhunters our demon fighting powers. " Isabelle answered as she retraced her angelic rune. 

" So hot. " Simon murmured under his breath and Jace cleared his throat. " The rune. " 

Theo glared on the screen as his inner protective brother was coming out. 

" Don't worry, Clary. I will watch over your best friend. In fact, I was about to make breakfast. " Izzy said and Simon took a deep breathe. 

" On the second thought, the runes might be less lethal. " Jace said. 

" Agreed, Jace. Isabelle is more lethal than runes. " Achatius said and Izzy gave him a ' you too ' look and Jace, Alec and Theo chuckled. 

" I will pretend I didn't hear that. Please excuse my brother's lack of manners. This is Alec and I am Isabelle. " Izzy forwarded her hand and Simon holds it. 

" Lewis. Simon, Simon Lewis. Two names. Am I still talking? " Simon introduced himself. 

" See? Best friends. Safe and sound here. " 

" Jace, if anything happens to him... " Simon cut Clary in between. 

" Go on, I will be fine. I think. " 

" Where are we going? " 

" Training room. Hey, uh... don't eat the food. Dangerous. " 

" You didn't stop teasing Simon. " Rose said and Jace scratched his head. 

" Jace, coming? " 

" Yeah, I am coming. " 

Scene Changes a woman is following a warlock. 

" Where's Magnus Bane? " The woman grabs the warlock by collar. Luke grabs the circle member. 

" Keep moving, warlock. " Warlock runs from there and Luke drags the woman aside. 

" Now, what were you gonna do with that warlock? Is that part of Valentine's plan now, huh? Humans, now warlocks? " The woman groans. 

" You're nothing but a traitor. " Luke chuckles. " A disgrace to the Circle. "  

" The only disgrace is that there's a Circle at all. " Luke slams the woman on the car. " But I hear that your membership is dwindling. " 

" You killed Konrad. I know it. " 

" I didn't have the pleasure. You can blame your allegiance to Valentine for that. Now, let's make a deal. You're gonna tell me some secrets and I'll make sure that you don't end up in the morgue like your boyfriend, Konrad. " The woman throws Luke off and kicks him. Luke slams her again on the car. The woman throws him over. The woman takes out her seraph blade and gets ready to kill Luke but he turns into a wolf and kills the Circle member. 

Everyone's eyes were glued to screen. They were interested in the fight. The woman also gave a good fight but she was a part of circle so she had to die. 

Scene Changes to Clary and Jace watching Hodge training with a Shadowhunter. 

" Who is that guy? " Clary asked. 

" That's Hodge Starkweather, our weapons trainer. And, more important for us, a former Circle member. After the uprising, Hodge repented and he was sent to live and work here to make amends. But he's forbidden to ever leave the Institute. " Jace answered. They see Hodge fighting. Hodge gasped seeing Clary. 

Jace, Izzy and Alec glared at Hodge as they remembered his betrayal. 

" Jocelyn. " He exclaimed in shock. 

" Uh, I'm Clary. Uh, Jocelyn Fray is my mother. " Clary answered. 

" Well, she was Jocelyn Fairchild when I knew her. " Hodge exhaled. " And she was one of my best friends. " 

" She's been kidnapped... by someone named Valentine and his men. " Clary says. 

" By the Circle, Hodge. " Jace adds. 

" But that's impossible. Valentine's dead and the Circle died with him. " Hodge choked. 

" What's happening? " Clary asked in shock. 

" What was happening? " Stefan asked. 

" His punishment rune was searing. " Rose answered. 

" I swore a vow never to speak of what we did. This is the Clave's way of making sure I keep that vow. " Hodge answered. 

" We can't torture him, Jace. Is there anyone else we can ask? " Clary asked. 

" She is right you can't torture him like that. " Elena exclaimed in shock. 

" Oh, please, Elena. I should have killed that bastard when I got the chance. " Rose answered back in a little anger. Elena was shocked to see Rose like this. 

" If the Circle really is back... and they've taken Jocelyn... Our leader... our leader of the Circle was Valentine Morgenstern... " He winced and rune seared. He stammers. " We thought he wanted to protect humans, like all Shadowhunters. But we never realized the lengths which Valentine was willing to go... the people he was willing to sacrifice. " Rune sears again. He inhales sharply. " Most of humanity would die if we carried out Valentine's plan. " 

" But I... I still don't understand. How does my mother relate to any of this? " Clary asks and Hodge sighed. 

" Jocelyn was a member of the Circle as well. " 

" The twist of the tale comes now. " Kol sarcastically said. 

" Oh, Kol this isn't even a twist. " Rose replied. 

Intro of Shadowhunters is shown. ( In Teen Wolf Style. )

Rosaline opens her eyes and flashes her alpha eyes. She swings her katanas and fearless rune is showed. Theodore's magical bow appears and he stretches its string forming the strength rune. Clary is seen blowing the candles on her birthday cake forming the angelic rune. Jace is seen jumping from a building with eagles surrounding him. He jumps on the ground splashing the water which forms heightened speed rune. Alec is seen a room with healing rune drawn on one of the walls. He aims his arrow. Isabelle is now shown swinging her blade forming the parabatai rune. Simon is seen wiping the blood on his lips in hotel de mort. The whole background turns black and white. Luke is seen with a wall behind him covered with runes and wolves. Magnus is drinking his cocktail. Scene splits and shows Theo and Rose using their magic and flashing their alpha eyes. Then all the runes are shown burning and Rosaline, Theo, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle are shown walking and the title Shadowhunter appears with The Mortal Instruments written below. And the screen turns black. 

" No. " Clary stutters. " I can't believe it. My mother, she... " 

" The important thing is that Jocelyn left the Circle. And so none of this even matters, because Valentine died in a fire years ago. " Hodge groans. 

" Hodge. Hodge. I'm sorry, but we can't ask you to do this. " 

" Clary, we don't have a choice. " Jace sighed. " You understand that, Hodge, right? " Hodge pants 

" Jace... is right. Valentine nearly destroyed the Shadow World and humanity along with it. If he'd gotten the Cup... " 

" Wait a minute. My mother told me she hid something from someone. If it's this Cup... "

" Clary, the Mortal Cup is the most important object in the Shadow World. Whoever possesses it can create more Shadowhunters. And in the wrong hands... control demons. " Clary gasped. 

" It is a very important thing. " Hope realised. 

" If Jocelyn hid the Cup from Valentine, then she's in more danger than you can possibly imagine. " His rune sears and he screams. 

" Hodge. " Hodge yelps and breaths heavily. 

" I hate to make you suffer like this. " Hodge pants. " I'm so sorry. " 

" Your mother was only trying to protect you. And now you must protect her. Stop Valentine... before he destroys us all. " His breath trembles. Clary leaves from the training room and Jace follows her. 

" Clary, but... Clary, look, will you just calm down? " Clary stops. 

" Calm down? Really, calm down? Okay, Jace, you might be some kind of emotionless G.I. Joe, but... " Jace cuts Clary in between. 

" I am sorry for calling you that. " Clary apologized. 

" You don't have to apologize, Clary. It was a long time ago and by now I have proved I am not your G.I. Joe. " Jace told Clary. Till now, all the people who were sitting in the theatre understood they are in so love with each other. 

" What is a G.I. Joe? "     

" A soldier who doesn't understand human emotions, who doesn't know what it's like to lose someone, to lose your own mother. " 

" You're right. I never knew my mother. " 

" I didn't know. " 

" That's precisely my point. You don't know anything about this. You don't know about me, you don't know about my life... " Jace sighs. " ... but in the Shadow World, no training and no plan gets you killed. " Clary sighs. 

" Okay, so we know that Valentine is back and wants the Cup, and for some reason he thinks my mother has it. Could she? Have the Cup? " 

" I don't know. Look, Clary, you know about runes. You've drawn them. You... you know something. Think, please. " 

" I've tried, Jace, okay? It's just this empty blackness. " Jace sighs. 

" Your memory's been wiped. " 

" Now, you got to know. " Elijah said and Clary nodded. 

" That's not possible. Is it? " 

" Absolutely... if you know a warlock. " 

" A warlock? " 

" Yeah, a warlock, Clary. Immortal beings, they're half-demon, half-human. Sometimes their fingers spark. " 

" Dot, my mom's assistant, her hands had this purple glow when she opened the wall and my mom pushed me through and I ended up at the police station. " 

" That was a Portal. Dot must have been a warlock. Only warlocks can create them. " 

" Wait, so you're saying if we find the real Dot, she could help us find the Cup and get my mom back? " 

" Unless she's working for Valentine. " 

" Even better. She'll lead us right to him. Where's Simon? "

Scene Changes to Luke in Clary's apartment. Door opens. He sees Dot. 

" Dot came to you? " Clary asked. 

" Yeah, she was looking for you. " Luke answered. 

" Where's Clary? What happened to her? We sent her through a Portal to you. " Dot asks.  

" You sent her through a Portal? Alone? She could be in limbo. " 

" Well, I didn't have much of a choice. I stayed to help Jocelyn fight Valentine's men and I got thrown through a plate glass window. " 

" Who do you think glamoured the house so that the mundane police wouldn't be alerted? Where's Clary? And where's Jocelyn? " 

" I don't know. All I know is that I sent Clary to the police station. To you. And what exactly are you doing with all that stuff? " 

" I can't have anybody tracking Clary. Including you. " 

" What's that supposed to mean? " 

" It means that this stuff is going back to the station with me, where it's safe. exhales sharply " Where are you going? " 

" To find Clary. They'll come for her next. If anyone can help, it's Magnus Bane. " 

" Dot. " Luke says softly. 

" What? " 

" You can't trust anybody. "

" You're absolutely right. " And Dot walks away. 

" That's why she went to pandemonium to meet Magnus. " Alec said in realisation.  

Scene changes to Simon sitting on the bed. And Izzy brings breakfast. 

" So, um... what happens to humans if they're... runed? " Simon asks. 

" They usually die. Sometimes they go crazy. When that happens, we call them the Forsaken. Then we kill them. " Isabelle answered. 

" Right. So the rune on Clary's neck... " 

" A healing rune. Jace used it to save her life. " 

" So Jace knew she was a Shadowhunter? " Simon asked. 

" He was almost certain. " Simon stood up from the bed and starts to leave. 

" Where could you possibly be going? " Isabelle stops him. 

" To get Clary, to protect her from Jace. " 

" And why would she need protection from Jace? He's the ultimate protector. " 

" Jace, The Ultimate Protector. Rings nice to me. I think we should start calling Jace by this name only. " Theo said and Izzy chuckled. Maryse saw Jace's pleading eyes. 

" Theo. " Maryse said in a firm scolding tone. 

" What mom? "  

" What makes Jace so special? "

" Fastest, strongest, fiercest. And hello, have you seen the guy? " 

" Yeah, well, uh... sorry I asked. "

" Rest easy, hombre. Clary's in good hands. Mmm, don't worry. There's plenty more where that came from. "

" Good to know. " Simon chuckles " Good to know. So the Circle... if they're as bad as they say they are, it's not good for Clary, is it? " 

" It's not good for any of us. " 

Scene Changes to Jace searching for Jocelyn. 

" Where are you, Jocelyn Fray? " Jace asks. 

Scene Changes to Valentine looking towards Jocelyn. 

Scene changes to Luke examining Clary's things. Captain Vargas comes. 

" Luke. Hey. What's the story? " Vargas asked. 

" Uh, the story... " 

" You were so close to being caught. " Achatius said. 

" Yeah. But I handled the situation. " Luke said. 

" Uh... With Clary. How's she doing? " 

" Oh, you talked to Clary? "

" When she stopped by. Oh, she was here? When? " 

" I don't know. The other day, when you were interviewing those two witnesses. " Luke stutters. 

" Oh, yeah. You know what? I had so much going on, I had Alaric take her home. " 

" But Clary's okay, right? " 

" Yeah. " 

" She said she was upset about a boy, but my instincts tell me there's more to the story. "  Luke scoffs. 

" A policeman's instincts are always right. " Matt said.

" I wouldn't worry about that. You know guys that age, they're idiots. " 

" Just that age? " Luke chuckles. 

" True. Idiots are available in all ages, my brothers are a great example. " Rebekah said and got glares from Mikaelson brothers. Izzy chuckled at her statement. 

" I like you. " Izzy said. 

" Me too. " Rebekah replied. 

" Well, some of us transform ourselves and hide the idiot within. " 

" Well, if I ever had a daughter... I'd be running a background check on every boy in sight. "  

" Ah, that's some sound police work, Captain. " 

Scene Changes to Clary and Isabelle. 

" This is the least revealing thing you have? " Izzy chuckles. 

" No offense, Clary but Isabelle is right. You should improve your taste of fashion. " Rebekah said. 

" None taken. " Clary replied. 

" What? All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion. " 

" Where's Simon? " Clary asked. 

" Who? " Izzy chuckles. " Kidding. He's in good hands with the boys. " 

" So, um... you, Alec, and Jace are... what, like, family? " Izzy chuckles. 

" Translation, you want to know if Jace and I are a thing. " Clary scoffs. 

" Izzy knows very well, how to read a mind. " Theo said and Rose nodded. 

" Why would I care? " 

" Oh, you do care sister. " Rose said. 

" Because you do. Don't worry. In every way, he's like my brother. Our parents took Jace in when he was ten. We trained together. Learned to fight side by side. " Clary sighs. 

" A few days ago, all I had to worry about was getting into art school. " She inhales. " And now... " 

" Is this the part where I give you the pep talk about harnessing your inner Shadowhunter and accepting your true destiny? " 

" Was that the pep talk? " Izzy chuckles. 

Rose, Caroline and Rebekah chuckled at this part.  

" Basically. Clary... " He sighs. " Remember, you were born to do this. No matter what has happened... this is who you are. " 

" Not exactly feeling that. " 

" Yet. " 

" Okay, but now we just have to find Dot. " Clary sighs. 

" And track down and kill the most dangerous rogue Shadowhunter in history before he kills us all. " 

" You really know how to ruin a pep talk, don't you? " 

" Come on, let's go. Oh, and Simon is kind of nerd-hot. " 

" You called me hot. I am flattered. " Simon said and boys chuckled at this.  

Scene Changes to Luke and Alaric. 

" Hey. Clary was here and we missed her. " 

" When? " 

" The other day. I think she saw me talking to the Circle members. " 

" What do we do now? " 

" I got a lead I'm gonna check out. " 

" You work the Simon Lewis angle. Where Clary goes, Simon's bound to follow. "

Scene Changes to Simon and Clary. 

" Let's get out of here, just you and me. We can get Dot ourselves. " 

" Simon, there are demons out there, okay? Actual demons with tentacles that wanna murder us. Do you know how to kill a demon? " 

" I'm an Internet search away. " 

" You were going to internet search this. " Achatius said in disbelief. 

" Yeah. I planned to do so. But I know my plans suck. " Simon replied. 

" Simon, I really don't think it's that simple. " Isabelle opens the weaponry. 

" I bet you it's not that hard. " 

" Whoa. " 

" No, Izzy. " 

" Fifty bucks says he doesn't approve this mission. " 

" I don't approve of this mission. I spoke with the Clave. They're sending Seelie scouts to search for Valentine, but they made it clear, the little girl does not leave the premises. " 

" You were right. " Freya said. 

" I am always right, specially in case of my brothers. " Izzy replied. 

" Hey, my name is not "little girl", okay? I don't care what that Clave thing or you want, I'm going to find Dot. " 

" I agree with Clary. Clave just sucks. We shouldn't care what they say. " Theo said. 

" Alec, this warlock could have the answers we need. With Valentine's people out there searching for Clary, she's not safe outside alone. " 

" Jace has a point. " 

" Et tu, Izzy? All right, since you have all the answers, where do you suggest we search? " 

" We should start at Dot's apartment in Greenpoint, and there's this thrift store that she... " Clary is pulled into a vision and sees where Dot is. She gasps and starts panting. 

" What's wrong? What is it? " 

" I, um... " She exhales. " Weirdly, I think I know where Dot is. " 

" Great. I'll drive. What? Unless you have, like, a Shadowhunter-mobile or something. "  Izzy chuckles. " You were kidding about the runes on the floor killing me... right? " 

" Possibly. " 

" Wait... am I gonna die? " 

A lot of giggles were heard in the response of that sentence. 

Scene Changes to Magnus. 

" Hurry up, warlocks. Last train to salvation. " 

" Where were they going? " Hope asked. 

" Those warlocks were going at my secret place, safe in my wards. " Magnus answered. 

" And let me guess, things didn't go as you planned. " Hope said and Magnus just sighed. 

" Magnus! Hey. Why haven't you answered my messages? Jocelyn's missing and I... " 

" I've been a little busy protecting our people from certain death. " 

" What are you talking about? " 

" Jocelyn's brilliant plan is screwed. Valentine knows a warlock brewed the potion that put her to sleep. He's hunting warlocks down one by one. " 

" What, so you're leaving? " 

" You've always been the quick study, Dorothy. It's our only choice until we know what Valentine is up to. Let's go. " 

" No, I... I can't. I've been Portaling all over the city looking for Clary and my magic is dangerously low. I need your help. " 

" Are you really going to risk your life for a Shadowhunter? " Dot stammers. 

" I think you should answer the question, Magnus. I pretty sure, you are ready to risk your life for a certain Shadowhunter. " Rose said and Magnus and Alec just smiled. 

" This isn't us versus them, Magnus. If Valentine gets the Cup, we're all doomed. " 

" Valentine can't kill what he can't find. Last chance to save yourself. " Magnus disappears and the portal closes. Dot walks out of Pandemonium and rogue Shadowhunters attack her. 

Scene Changes to Clary, Jace, Alec, Izzy and Simon.  

Clary is pulled into a vision and she sees a circle member pointing his seraph blade at Dot. 

" Dot. Dot! " Clary runs to the place where she saw Dot. 

" Clary! Clary, stop! Where are you going? " Jace stops her. 

" Two men, Circle members... the same ones who came to my house, who took my mom. They have Dot. They're gonna hurt her or kill her. We have to stop them! " She runs inside Pandemonium. Her breath trembles. " No. She was just trying to help me. Now, she's gone. " 

" Clary, I'm sorry. " 

" You don't understand. Dot's like my big sister. " 

The Scooby Doo looked at Clary on the screen with sympathy. 

" It's not safe here. We have to go back to the Institute right now. " 

" So, what now? Valentine has my mom and Dot, and we're just gonna give up? What about my memories? They can't just be gone? " 

" There is another option. " 

" Don't even... " 

" Absolutely not. " 

" I'm not afraid of the Silent Brothers. " 

" Who are Silent Brothers? " Damon asked before anyone could answer, on-scrren Clary asks the same question. 

" Who are the Silent Brothers? " 

" They're Shadowhunters with superior powers. Who possess the ability to recover memories. " 

" A process that can also kill you, so there's that. " 

" Your bedside manner is abysmal. " 

Theo and Achatius laughed at this. 

" We've broken at least 18 Clave rules and now you want to go to the City of Bones? There's no way. I won't allow it. " 

" You seriously counted how many times they broke the rules. Rules ae made to be broken, brother. " Theo said and Alec sighed.  

" This isn't our choice to make. This is Clary's decision. " 

" You can't ask her to do this. She doesn't know what she's facing. She's not prepared. " 

" If anyone can tell me another way to recover my memories and still get the answers we need, I'm listening. " No one speaks. " That settles it. 

" See? I told you she's one of us. " 

" Definitely a Morgenstern trait. " Jonathan said and Rose nodded. 

Scene Changes to Silent Brother's place. 

" Yeah, this place isn't creepy. Not at all. " Isabelle chuckles. 

" This place is really very creepy. " Hope said. 

" Don't tell me you're afraid. " Simon scoffs. 

" Are you kidding me? I was born afraid... which sounded a lot better in my head. " Isabelle chuckles. 

Again people burst into laughter. 

" Let's check it out. " 

" Wait here a minute. I wanna see if it's safe. " 

" Why are we doing this? We don't even know these people. " 

" Hey. If something goes wrong... if something happens to her, that's on us. You know that, don't you? 

" Yeah. And you know exactly what'd happen if Valentine gets the Cup before we do. She's lost everything, Alec. I know exactly what that feels like. And what's your problem with her, anyway? Your family always used to welcome strays. " 

" You were never a stray. " 

" He is right Jace, you were never a stray. " Maryse said. 

" The point is, nothing's changed. We're in this fight together. There's just... one more of us. " 

Clary sighs. " I just wish my mom had trusted me enough to tell me about all this. " 

" Mama, trusted you enough Clary, she was just afraid. " Rose said. 

" I know. " Clary replied. 

" What is it? What's wrong? " 

" How are you not ultra freaked out by all of this? " 

" I guess I just always felt like there was something missing. Some void I couldn't quite explain. Things are finally starting to make sense. But none of it's gonna matter unless I get my mom back. " 

" Then let's do that. " 

" Clary. Come on, it's all clear. Let's go. " 

Scene Changes to Valentine's place for experiments. Dot is tied to a pole with ropes. 

" I'd hoped my men could have persuaded you to help us. For someone so old, you're not too wise, are you? See, it's very simple. Reverse Jocelyn's spell and you'll be free to live your... wasteful, warlock life. " Dot scoffs. 

" You're a liar. " Valentine chuckles.  " You'd never let me go. " Valentine clears throat. " But I swear, it wasn't me. I can't break the spell. " 

" Who did it then? " Valentine inhales sharply. " I want the warlock's name. See, Jocelyn may be unreachable, but her daughter is still out there. You must want to help the girl, right? " Valentine inhales deeply. " Maybe a little medicine... will trigger your memory, hmm? " He jabs the syringe into Dot's neck. She screams and groans in pain.  

" No. " 

" Your father is really crazy. " Keelin said. 

" We know. " The Morgenstern siblings said in unison. 

Scene Changes to Jace and Clary 

" You have to understand, the Silent Brothers aren't like us. " 

" They lack your charm and superior people skills? " 

Some chuckles were heard in response to this statement. 

" Yeah, most people do. Brothers communicate without using words, using just their thoughts. " 

" That doesn't sound so bad. " 

" Don't let their silence fool you. They'll hold the Soul-Sword to your head, and with its blade, carve the truth from your mind. If you're not strong enough, you will die. " 

" I take it back. That sounds level ten bad. " 

" Clary, you should know, the pain will be excruciating. You don't have to... " 

" I'll do anything. Walk through fire, battle demons, whatever it takes. I have to get my mom back. I can't... I won't lose her. " 

" You won't. We won't. " Clary sighs as she sees a skeleton.  

" I can do this. " 

" Yeah, you can. You're Clary freakin' Fray. You can do anything. " 

" All right, hold up. " 

" Surprise, surprise. No mundanes allowed, just like in the training room, right? " 

Again chuckles were heard.

" Wrong! " 

" I've seen every horror movie ever made and the funny best friend who gets left behind... dead man. " Izzy laughs.  

" You're not that funny. But by all means, go ahead. Of course, the minute you enter, you'll die. " 

" Problem is, now I don't trust you. " 

" He's not lying. " 

" Now. He was before. " 

" The rune energy in the City of Bones will kill any mundane who dares to enter, so, please... " Isabelle sighs. 

" The Brothers creep me out. I'll mind the mundane. " 

" Your sacrifice is noted, Izzy. " 

" Dully noted. " Theo said and people laughed. 

" Talk about sacrifice. I'm missing a financial analysis class. " 

" I can't be here anymore, so, Jace, I'm gonna mind the perimeter. " 

" I don't wanna leave you. " 

" Go be a bad ass Shadowhunter, all right? Get your memories back, save your mother. I'll be right here... guarding the entrance to hell. " 

" Clary, you don't keep the Silent Brothers waiting. " 

" You got this. " 

" They're getting to be quite the team. Amusing. " 

" No, not really. " 

Scene Changes to police station. Captain Vargas walks in. 

" Got this from the shift commander. One of your witnesses turned up dead outside an abandoned church. Then there's this. " Luke groans. " Your other witness winds up dead inside a parking garage. " 

" Look, I don't know what tore into this woman, and I really don't know what happened to that car. Looks like the demonic murder crew's taking out their witnesses one by one. " 

" You sure that's all it is? " 

" She was suspecting you. " Finn said. 

" I know. " Luke replied. 

" Oh, come on, Captain. You've got no reason to doubt me. " 

" Don't give me one. " Vargas walks away and Alaric walks towards Luke.  

" You're supposed to stay under the radar. " 

" It was self-defense. You know I'm on the right side of things. " 

" I know that. I'm not sure our friends agree. If you wanna smooth things over, I suggest you find Clary soon... or they will. " 

" I will. No one knows her better than I do. " 

Scene Changes to Clary and Jace walking inside City of Bones. 

 " What's that? " 

" It's witch light. We carry it to remind us that light can be found in even the darkest of places. And it's cooler than a flashlight. " Clary chuckles. " Here. " 

" It's kinda cute. Can I have one? " Hope asks. 

" Yes, you can Hope. " Rose replied and Hope smiled. 

" Is that meant to be the Mortal Cup? " 

" Yeah. " 

" What's that say? "

" It's the Shadowhunter creed. Looking better in black than the widows of our enemies. " Clary chuckles. 

" I agree with her. " Kol said. 

" My Latin's pretty rusty, but I'm almost positive that's not what that says. " 

" For Shadowhunters, the descent into hell is easy. " 

" That should be a postcard. " Jace scoffs. 

" It's this way. " 

" I'm sorry... about what I said before about your mom. I didn't know. " 

" It's cute. You assume I have feelings. I don't. Save the apologies for the mundanes. Everyone has a sad song. My mother died when I was a baby. My father died when I was ten. " 

Jace got tensed with the mention of his father. Clary noticed this and put a hand on his shoulder for comfort. 

" I'm so sorry. " Jace sighs. " Wait, is he... is he buried here? " 

" No. Circle members are considered traitors. They forfeit their right to be buried here. " 

"  Your dad was in the Circle, too? " 

" My father tried to do the right thing and leave the Circle and it cost him his life. " 

Jace let out a dry chuckle on this. 

" That's why you're doing all this, why you're helping me. " 

" Valentine and his people need to pay. I'm gonna make them pay. " 

" For, um... for what it's worth... I'm still sorry. " 

" No more ' I'm sorry's. ' You're a Shadowhunter now. " 

" I've drawn this before. But I don't know what it means. " 

" It means ' clairvoyance. '. " Firelight lit ups and they see Silent Brothers. Clary gasps, her breath trembles. 

" There eyes and mouth are sewed. Now, this looks very creepy. " Hayley said. 

A man in deep voice says. " Shadowhunters... " Clary gasps her breath trembles. 

" Come into the circle. Step away, Jace Wayland. " 

" I'll be right here. " 

" The search of your unconscious... is a perilous one. " 

" Please... my memories were blocked. I have to get them back. " 

" If you are not strong enough... the Soul-Sword will kill you. " 

" You're more powerful than you know. Clary freakin' Fray, you can do anything. Remember you were born to do this. You're one of us. You're a Shadowhunter. " Clary remembers the words said by her mother, Simon, Jace and Izzy.

" I'm ready. " 

Scene changes to Simon. 

" So, is cracking someone's mind open supposed to take this long? Maybe we, or... you should go check? " 

" Jace has it covered. " Izzy chuckles. 

" Take my word for it. The Silent Brothers are quite unpleasant. " 

" That's not helping. Not at all. What if Clary can't handle the Brothers? " He stammers. 

" What does that... It literally never stops talking. " Simon scoffs. 

" Oh, poor Alec. " Theo said and laughed. 

" Is he always so charming? " 

" Firstborn. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. " 

" Mmm. I feel his pain. Only son. Mother wants me to be a CPA. " 

" Hmm. And you? What do you want? "

" Me? Um... well, I'm in a band. " 

" Yeah? What type of music? Let me guess. Indie rock? " Simon chuckles nervously. 

" Yeah. " Isabelle chuckles. 

" Got anything on your phone? " 

" I do. We recorded our last set. We killed. It's... I left my phone in the van. " Isabelle chuckles. 

" Let's go get it. " 

" Yeah. " 

" Yeah. " 

" Where is it going? " 

" We'll be right back. " 

" What? He passes the time. " 

" I can hear you guys, you know? His cell phone chimes. " Just a second. Yeah? Um, uh, trying to pick the right clip. " Something rattles. 

" It was a distraction, wasn't it? " Klaus said. 

" Yes, it was. " Isabelle said. 

" What was that? I'll be right back. Whatever you do, do not leave the van. Got it? " 

" Yeah. I'm not going anywhere. " He locks door and sighs heavily. He plugs in the headphones and guitar music playing through headphones. Someone grabs him and Simon gasps. 

Scene changes to Silent Brothers. 

" The Soul-Sword reveals all. " Clary breathing heavily as Soul Sword pierces through her skull. Voices chanting indistinctly. 

" That must have been very painful. " Caroline said. 

" Yes, it was. " Clary said. 

Flashback

 Clary chuckles. " No way. Really? Huh. " Footsteps approach and Clary gasps. " Simon, I gotta go. " 

" Luke... no. " 

" All this lying is destroying you. Stop blocking her memory and tell her the truth. " 

" I can't. You know I can't. " 

" You're just delaying the inevitable. Clary's a Shadowhunter. There's nothing you can do to change that. " 

" This world is too dangerous. If anyone knew who she really was, the risks would be a hundred times greater. I already lost my first daughter, I can't afford to loose my second, Luke. " 

" She was talking about you. " Stefan said. 

" Yep. " Rose said. 

" I know you are afraid about the danger, after, what happened with Rose, I know you are scared. You know still it isn't proved that Rose is dead, she is a survivor, she has always survived, she could still be alive. But what happens when Clary finds out the truth on her own? And then what? " 

Rose smiled at the scene. 

" I won't let that happen. If she ever learns about her father... if she ever finds out that her father is Valentine. " Clary gasps and pants as the memory ends. 

" Wait... Wait, where are they going? " Clary stammers. 

" We aren't done. We can't be done. " 

" Clary, do you know where the Cup is? " 

" No. " 

" Only fragments of her memory were accessible to us. " 

" It can't be true... what I saw. " 

" Now, that's like a truth bomb exploded on you. " Kol said. 

" Your memory does not lie. You must accept what has been revealed. " 

" I can't... I can't. "  Clary sobs. 

" What is it? What did you see? " 

" My mother lied to me. She lied all these years about my father and my family. " 

" About your father and family? What about your father and family? " 

" My father... My father is Valentine. And I have an older sister, who might be still alive. " 

Scene Changes to Chernobyl. Dot tries to open the lock with her magic. In the second try she opens the door. 

" Jocelyn. " Dot whispers. " Jocelyn, I know you can hear me. Clary is fine. She's so brave... and strong. " Dot breathes heavily. " And she won't... Clary won't let Valentine win. I'm so sorry. " A man grabs Dot and slams her on the table. He grunts. Dot tries to free from his grip. 

" Magic a little rusty, warlock? Should've learned how to fight like the rest of us! " She jams the syringe into man's neck. 

" Ahh! " Man gasps and both of them groan. Dot sobs. Valentine walks in. 

 " You were a loyal follower. " Valentine breathes shallowly. " A brilliant soldier. I won't forget your sacrifice. " Man groans and gasps. His flesh sears and he groans in pain.  Man exhales and dies. " You were right, warlock. " Dot sobs. " I was never gonna let you go. " Dot screams. 

" Dorothy, really went through all this alone. She is very brave. " Magnus said. 

" Yes she is. " 

Scene Changes to Clary and Jace returning. 

 " What happened? What did you find out? " 

" Valentine is Clary's father and she has a sister. 

" Wait a minute. You're telling me this girl shows up out of nowhere and she's Valentine's daughter? Did it occur to you that she might be a spy? This might be part of her plan? " 

" I am sorry, Clary. For reacting like this. " Alec apologized. 

" I forgave you a long time back, Alec. " Clary said. 

" That's enough, Alec. " 

" Do you think I planned for my mom to get kidnapped? Or... or for Dot to be taken? Or to have a giant sword dangle over my head and find out that I have a sister and my father is one of the most dangerous people in the world? Really? " Her breath trembles. " Where's Simon? Where's Simon? " 

" I told him to stay in the van. I've searched everywhere. " 

" He's gone? " 

" I can't find him. " Izzy sighs. 

" You were supposed to protect him! Simon! " 

" Ugh, these mundanes are killing me. " Clary pants.  

" Okay, am I the only one who is not understanding this? First, you say, your job is to protect mundanes and then, you hate them so much. " Kol said. 

" Don't worry, Kol. I know it's a very weird thing but still it is a Shadowhunter thing. " Rose replied. 

" Simon? No. Simon! " 

" Is that the mundane's name? I'm afraid Simon's coming with us. " They see upwards and see vampires holding Simon. 

" Vampires. " Caroline said. 

" No! No, he's not a part of this. " 

" And it'll be my pleasure to kill you unless you return him. " 

" Careful. We'd be violating the Accords. " 

" What are accords? " Bonnie asked. 

" A treaty of peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. " Rose answered. 

" Or just a piece of crap. " Theo added and some chuckles were audible. 

" I'm afraid your sidekick's quite right. The Night Children have broken no laws. We're negotiating. The mundane, unharmed, in exchange for the Mortal Cup. " Clary gasps. " And the clock is ticking. Tick-tock, people. " 

" Clary! " 

" Simon... No! " Clary breathes heavily. " Simon! Simon! Simon! " Her voice echoing. " Simon! "
