11: Lou's PoV

What the heck?

Summer has never, in our entire time together, mentioned she has a brother. Unless she was lying, but I knew her- she literally never lied. Ever. Perhaps she just slipped on her words and said something she shouldn't have.

Suddenly, a small wave of hurt goes through me- why wouldn't she trust me enough to tell me that tiny detail about herself? Then again, it is impossible to understand the brains of girls.

After a few moments, Summer looks at Seb. "So, err, where exactly are we going?"

Seb looks at the timetable, which is shown on the side of the bus. "Well, we're going down a good eleven blocks, where we can catch a ten-minute ride with some.... certain people. I would ask to go straight to Camp, but they hate me for some reason and will only allow me twenty minutes in their car. And the rest, we walk."

I nod. "Sounds good to me."

Summer nods as well. "Same here. Just a warning though- Lou gets carsick."

I scowl at her and go red, while Seb shrugs and grimaces. "I don't think anyone wouldn't get carsick with those three..."

I groan loudly. "Ughhhh."

After a few minutes, the bus slowly stops and the doors open and a boy who looks a good three years older than us walks in. He is tall and has an array of freckles dotted across his tanned cheeks. His bright blue eyes are half covered by his messy black hair. Basically, he looks like a junior superman in a t-shirt and shorts.

He sits a few seats in front of us and proceeds to stare out the window. I hear a small gasp beside me and turn around. Seb is gaping at the boy, his eyes wide and jaw opening and closing in shock.

"What is it?" Summer hisses quietly.

Seb finally find the words, and looks at us. "I used to have to guard this girl, Marina. She couldn't be friends with me, but I made friends with her brother, Mark. That's him."

Summer grabs my arm suddenly, her amber eyes flashing a warning- I know what she is trying to say. I glace back at her: don't tell him. Not now.

Instead, I look at Seb. "Well, why don't you just go up to him and ask?"

He shakes his head. "I had to leave, so I made them believe I died in a train accident. So if I go up to him now..."

Summer pauses. "Good point. But what are you going to do now, seeing as you can't exactly go up to him and say you're still alive?"

Seb shrugs. "I dunno. Act like my identical, imaginary twin brother who lived in Alaska for four years whike secretly working in the military, then took a helicopter to Australia where he/I helped farmers build scarecrows and helped grave-diggers dig graves. It's worked before."

I cough awkwardly. "I'm not even going to ask."

Summer nods. "Ditto. But just saying, are you sure he's going to believe that?"

Just as Seb is about to reply, we hear a voice in front of us calls out in a slight Texan accent, "Hey, you do know I can hear you, right?"

We turn around. Mark is looking at us, eyebrows raised and lean arms folded. Oddly enough, he doesn't seem too surprised. Thre again, he did hear our entire conversation.

"Hello? You lot on freeze or something?" he asks, his mouth turning up at the corners ever so slightly..

Summer is the first one to regain her composure. "Well, uh, in that case, sorry. Seb didn't mean to fake his death. And before you ask, we don't know where he gets his twin-brother story from either."

Mark smiles. "Hate to break it to you, kid, but I don't think anyone does. And I don't mind, because I suspected it all along."

Now it's Seb's turn to look shocked. "How though?"

"Well, I kinda had a feeling something was off, because there was always something diffetent about you." He noticed Seb's wounded expression, and backtracked. "No offense though. Also, I saw you again walking down the streets last year-ish."

Seb gaped. "Seriously? I had a feeling there was someone watching me."

I smile. "Well, it's a small world."

Mark nodded. "True that. So what are you doing here?"

Seb shrugs. "We're just headed to a summer camp. Just a while from here."

Mark pauses before saying, "Oh, like the one Marina goes to? Say hi from me if you see her."

I nod and mock-salute. "Sir, yes, sir!"

Mark looks at Seb. "Out of all the people you've introduced me to, these people the best."

I look at Summer. "Finally, someone who appreciates how amazing we are! It only took, err, twelve years."

Summer raises her eyebrows. "There's a reason for that, you know..."
