The early weeks of September slowly faded into the start of October. The weather had chilled down, the leaves were beginning to turn certain colors of orange, red and such, falling off its spots on the trees and onto the grass, making the branches bare.
The girls were out in the grounds on the evening of a slightly chilly Saturday, wearing sweaters and scarves, all gathering as many leaves as they could and making one big pile. Once done they all circled around it.
"Ready?" Lily asked, earning nods from the others.
Fiona began counting down, followed by Maya, Marlene and Alice.
"Three."
"Two."
"One."
"Go!"
They all jumped in seeing that the pile was big. Bright smiles were on their faces, throwing leaves at one another, the leaves making satisfying sounds by breaking beneath their feet, their joyous laughter echoing throughout the grounds, another memory that would be added to their countless other ones. Soon after all that chaos, they all fell upon the ground staring up at the cloudy sky, panting for breath.
"You know," Fiona piped up out of the blue, "Have you ever thought about the future? Forgetting about the possibility of a war, and settling with our families or going out to explore the world?"
"Yeah," Lily breathed out, "I want to work as a Healer, and as for settling down I'm not sure, but I will definitely not settle down with that arrogant toe-rag." Lily added at the end, as the other girls only grinned that Lily had read their minds about them having the idea to tease her.
"I want to be a Professional Quidditch player." Marlene said, "But if that doesn't work out, I'll settle down with a booth that gives out advice!"
"You and advice?" Maya said, raising an eyebrow. "Please."
"Hey, I'm awesome with advice!"
"Unfortunately, you are terrible with advice, Mar." Alice said earning a hmph from the latter. "All I have planned at the moment is to complete my training to be an Auror, but after that I'm not sure. How about you, Maya?"
Maya grinned widely, "I'm just going to sit back and relax at home and watch that money roll in."
"Maya, that's not how money works." Lily said. "You have to work hard and earn it."
"Ah but you see Professor Evans, the money will come rolling in because my dearest brother, Sameer, will be working and bringing it in." She replied mischievously. "But jokes aside, like I've said before I'm going to train to be an Auror but if that fails I might open up some joke shop or something, or maybe work in the Muggle world as some sort of artist like acting or comedy."
"Why don't you try something music related? You love music and dance, why not combine those?" Alice said.
"Perhaps. We'll see where the future takes me I guess. How about you, Fi?"
"I-" Fiona paused, "I think I would like to go travelling around the world or maybe just Europe as part of my magizoologist career. If it all becomes too much, maybe I'll open up a bakery somewhere. As for family, I would want to settle with a spouse that loves me dearly and two wonderful children, one boy and one girl." Fiona finished with a gentle smile.
"No matter what path we all go down one thing is certain, we'll be as close then as we are now. It will be fun to have our kids grow together." Alice commented, earning nods and sighs of agreements from the others. A comfortable silence washed over.
"Oh my gosh!" Lily exclaimed as she suddenly sat up. "I forgot to do my homework! Shit-"
"Professor Evans, no cursing in front of us kids!" Maya said, placing her hands over her ears, but Lily didn't seem to hear as she got up and rushed back to the castle.
"It's Saturday, why be in such a rush when you can do the homework tomorrow?" Marlene questioned.
"That's because we were asked to write three rolls by Professor Wilson, and you know Lily-" Alice said but was cut off.
"THREE ROLLS?!" Maya and Marlene shouted as they sat up.
"I don't even remember what we learned."
"Three rolls?" Maya said scandalized.
"Crap, we should go work on it too." Marlene said.
The two girls also ran off but it soon turned into a chase as Maya threw a bunch of leaves at Marlene's head, to which the blonde lunged at her but failed, and then chased her all the way into the castle.
"I'm going to head back too, you coming Fi?"
Fiona shook her head, "I want to stay out for a bit, but thanks for asking Al." Alice also left with a bounce in her step.
Fiona laid there on the ground littered with leaves, watching the clouds above roll by, allowing sunlight to peek through for a brief moment before hiding the sun once again.
Bark!
Fiona's lips upturned at the familiar voice and she rolled over onto her stomach, peering over at the landscape that was behind her. The familiar bear-sized creature stood there with his tail wagging, his face full of joy. Fiona sat up beckoning the dog over, who immediately jumped onto her and began licking her face.
"Oh- I-I-Alright that's enough." Fiona finally managed to say in between her laughter and the dog's actions, as she gently pushed the dog away whilst sitting up.
"Well it's good to see you too." Fiona replied as her laughs slowly subsided. Her smile was vibrant on her face, before she frowned as she stared at the dog. "I wonder where you live, surely you can't survive in the dark forest?" Fiona wondered as her eyes flickered over to the forest. "Maybe you belong to someone in Hogsmeade? Oh wait!" She suddenly exclaimed, making the black dog jump. "You aren't Hagrid's, are you? He's been wanting a dog for ages now."
The dog stared at Fiona for a few seconds before barking out what almost sounded like laughter. Fiona stared dumbfounded at the animal.
"Are you... Are you laughing at me?"
The dog kept hollering on.
"Hey, it was just a guess! But since you don't belong to anyone, maybe if I can convince James or Professor McGonagall, we can somehow take you home! I'm sure mum and dad won't mind."
The dog suddenly froze giving her a bewildered look, but Fiona didn't notice as she was now making up her mind before she suddenly looked up at the castle.
"Let me see if I can go find James and see what he says." Fiona stood up but no more than one step did she take, did the dog begin pulling on her legs. Fiona looked down at the dog who whimpered. Fiona thought the dog could actually understand her. "You don't like that idea?" The dog shook his head a bit too hard, earning a gentle laugh from the girl due to the dog's actions.
"You're adorable, you know that?" Fiona paused, "I haven't named you, have I?" The dog stared back at her with anticipation. "I'm naming you, Snuffles. I've always wanted to give that name to a dog but I've never really asked mum and dad for one, it might be hard to take care of a pet when we are at school and our parents are at work. I mean we have an House-Elf, but he isn't our slave. Yeah, I'm sticking with that. Your name is Snuffles." The dog made an odd sound in disagreement but Fiona was already happy with the name that the dog's reaction escaped her notice. "I think that suits you." Fiona planted a kiss on the dog's head whom she had now named Snuffles. "See you later."
With that she took off back to the castle. However, where Snuffles had been now stood someone ever so familiar to the young Potter, someone if the girl knew the truth about, she would never spend time with. That person watched Fiona climb the steps into the castle and disappear from view.
"You are one of a kind, how come I never noticed it before, Potter?" His smile suddenly faded as his face went a bit pale, "If she tells Prongs..." The boy, too, rushed back up to the castle.

"So I said- ARGH!"
Fiona gasped, her mouth hanging open, her eyes wide, drenched entirely from head to toe, frozen with shock.
After Fiona came back in and the other girls apart from Alice panicked over their assignment, they all went to dinner. Now they had come back after finishing, Fiona in the lead explaining how she once saved James from serious trouble at home, only to be soaked completely as she stepped into the tower.
James and Remus looked up excitedly from by the fireplace only to be disappointed and fill up with slight fear, as they found Fiona standing there, wet and fuming.
"JAMES!" She roared, making everyone present in the common room flinch, and James ran forward with his hands raised in surrender.
"I swear it wasn't for you."
"Stop lying-"
"No, really! It was for-"
James broke off as the portrait hole swung open, and Sirius and Peter stepped in only to pause as their eyes took in the scene before them.
"Fi, let's go." Lily said, but before anyone could say anything else Sirius burst into laughter.
"Why are you drenched, Potter? Prank gone wrong? Didn't take an umbrella out in the rain? Perhaps took a dip in the lake? Not the season to be swimming if you ask me." He said, before roaring with laughter once again.
Fiona threw all the boys a dirty look, "Fifteen points from Gryffindor!"
"What-"
"And a day's detention as well James, go see Mr. Filch tomorrow for more details." With that, she stormed off with the girls in tow, leaving the boys dumbfounded.
"She really needs to sort out herself, Merlin knows what goes on in her head." Sirius said, before grinning at James and Remus. "Ha! You couldn't get me or Peter back! And you got your sister even more mad, this is just great!" Sirius laughed, joined in by Peter while Remus frowned and James pouted, before they joined in too.
Meanwhile up in the girls' dormitory, Fiona was taking a shower after pacing around angrily for several minutes. After, the bathroom door was left open as the girls were circulating in and out, grabbing supplies they needed as they decided to end the night more refreshingly by making it a girl's night. They planned on spending time applying nail paint, face masks and such while playing music loudly, taking some time to enjoy each other's company and work on themselves.
Although as the girls were laughing loudly once they all were seated on the floor, doing each other's nails, the Marauders were standing at the bottom of the staircase with their ears drawing in the excitement from above. They wanted to know what was happening, they were curious.
"She was about to murder us all, and now they are doing who knows what up there!" James exclaimed.
"Well let's just go up and check."
"How thick are you, Wormtail?" Sirius snapped.
"Oh right, boys can't go up."
"Come on, no point in trying." Remus said and the others followed. Sirius looked back up again, the gears turning in his head.

"And I told him that he sucked!" Marlene proudly stated, regarding an encounter she once had with Lucius Malfoy in Diagon Alley.
Knock! Knock!
The girls paused and stared at the door.
"Are we being too loud? They haven't called Professor McGonagall have they?" Lily said with worry as she hurriedly shut off the music.
"Dunno, I'll check."
Fiona got up and went to the door. She grasped the doorknob and pulled open the wooden door, only for her eyes to widen and scream.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
Sirius' face went slightly pink as he realized the latter was wearing just a towel, before he smirked.
"Wow, you look good, Fona."
Fiona's one hand went up to make sure her towel stayed in place.
"Get out!"
"Aw, but darling, I just came to see what all the commotion was about." He said, bringing his face close to Fiona, who began to get nervous.
"How did you even get up here!"
"A Marauder never reveals his secrets."
Fiona frowned, her face had gone red but that didn't let her attitude change. "Go away, and detention Black-"
"For what?!"
"For breaking rules a-and invading p-privacy." Fiona uttered before slamming the door in Sirius' face. The other girls stared in bewilderment at how a boy had managed to climb the girl's staircases, and the exchange between the pair.
"Maybe we all should change out of these and go to sleep, before anyone else realizes how gorgeous we all really are." Maya proclaimed dramatically, and the girls dispersed. Fiona however, stood with her back pressed against the door, her hand resting on her racing heart. Meanwhile, on the other side, Sirius also stood staring at the door that had been shut in his face moments ago, his mind not being able to erase the image of Fiona Potter he had just witnessed.
