A/N: Sad one-shot. The ship? No ship. Just Andromeda Tonks' reaction to Tonks and Remus's death.

She was aware of the screaming and sobbing.

With a pang of pain, she realised that she was the one shouting and screaming.

Kingsley Shacklebolt quitely withdrew from the scene.

Dead. Her daughter, her son-in-law, her husband...all dead. The people she cared for, loved and lived for, all dead. She had no one to confess her feelings to, no Dora to make her laugh, no Remus for chocolate to cheer her up, no Ted to live for.

Nothing.

Her world was crushed, empty.

Sobbing, she clutched the door frame and sank to the ground. Her face was stained with tears, eyes red and body shaking.

Dora and Remus died bravely, didn't they? They saved the world. They sacrified themselves.

And Andromeda Tonks would make sure they didn't sacrifice themselves for nothing.

She had a grandson to live for. A grandson who would never see his parents, he would never taste dad's hot chocolate, he would never see his mother change her hair to make him squeal and laugh, he would live without his parents.

Teddy Remus Lupin would grow up without his parents.

She arranged the funeral, she took care of Teddy, who was crying and screaming for his parents, she promised her daughter and son-in-law that Teddy would never feel the loss of his parents. She would give him a happy childhood.

Harry understood, of course he did. He had grown up without his parents. He helped Andromeda take care of him.

Teddy grew up calling Harry his uncle and Ginny his aunt. They never made him feel like he didn't have parents, because The Potters treated him as a son.

James, Lily Albus, Rose, Hugo, Dominique, Louis and others were practically his siblings.

Well apart from Victoire, everyone.

Andromeda remembered teasing him about his girlfriend, calling him 'lover boy' and making him laugh.

She remembered their wedding. She had been sobbing, because that one-year-old she had brought up was so grown up now.

She remembered Teddy and Victoire dancing during their reception.

She remembered Harry telling her that Dora would have been proud of him right now.

She remembered Ginny holding her hand and telling her that she had made the best mother in the world.

She remembered holding her great-granddaughter, Dora Andromeda Lupin. It was like her Dora was back, it felt like she was twenty-five once again, it felt like the time she had held Dora close to her.

She remembered holding her great-grandson, Remus Harry Lupin.

She remembered each and every happy moment of her life.

And now, she lay on her bed, sick and weak. She knew that she would be reuninted with Dora soon. Teddy was holding her hand, trying to stifle his sobs, her other hand was held by a weeping Narcissa.

She closed her eyes and felt her heartbeat turn slow.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

No more heartbeats.

Narcissa fainted. Teddy held her and sobbed hard as he stared at his dead grandmother, the woman who had brought him up with such love and affection. The woman who had never let him feel the loss of his parents, the woman who had loved him until her last breath.

Andromeda Ted Tonks was buried between her daughter and husband. She had completed her life, fulfilled her promise to her family.

Andromeda opened her eyes snd found herself in a sunny garden. She heard Dora's familiar call of "Mum!"

She turned and saw Dora. She hugged her daughter tightly to herself.

"Thank you, Mum. You are the best. Love you," Dora whispered in her ear.

Andromeda had got everything she wanted in her life.
