The Shades of Love.

There were so many shades of love. People killed for love, died for love, saved for love and fought for love.

They said that they couldn't be together. Mostly people agreed.

She was the sky, he was the ground.

She was flame, he was ice.

She was the moon, he was the stars.

She was white, he was black.

She was a half-blood, he was a pure-blood.

But love has it ways. Secret looks between classes, barely hidden smiles and the light redness of cheeks. The barriers were being broken, walls were thinning and love was blossoming.

They fought but loved. Both denied this but love has it ways.

On the 17th of May 1977, they got together. Two people who were least expected to fall in love.

On the 17th of May 1977, they proved that love doesn't see blood status, differences or beauty. It only saw dedication.

On the 17th of May 1977, Marlene Melissa McKinnon and Sirius Orion Black showed that even the least expected people can fall in love.

He proposed on the 18th of June 1978. She said yes.

They would have been married, if it hadn't been for that night.

They were on an order mission. Lily, James, Emmeline and Benjy were with them. The whole McKinnon family was there.

The battle of Diagon Alley on the 22nd of September 1979 was one of the most dangerous battles in the history of Britain. The screams, the shouts, the sobs, the spells, everything was broken. Humans and objects alike.

There was an explosion. Nine Death Eaters had exploded three shops. Sirius felt his heart stop as he found Marlene's wand in the ruins.

All her family members were dead. But she wasn't found.

Sirius spent hours in the ruins of Diagon Alley, calling her name pushing woods, materials, bodies aside. She was not there. The explosion was so fierce that it had teared her to shreds.

He only found her wrist. He knew it was hers because of the tattoo on it.

His name, she had it tattooed on her left wrist. He didn't know how long he sat there. Her wrist in front of him as he sobbed hard.

It was James who found him the next morning. Sirius looked up and saw tears running down his brother's face.

'Sh-she's gone,' Sirius whispered brokenly. James hugged him. He didn't pull back, he cried.

At the funeral, his face remained stoic and cold. He didn't show one emotion. It looked like he was wearing a cold mask on his face.

It wasn't until he came to his flat that he let himself go. Over the next few days, he was a mess. He drank too much and sobbed. But when November came, Lily told him that she was pregnant.

He was the first one she told. She said that she was scared. Scared that James wouldn't want a child right now. Scared that he would leave her. Then Sirius decided that Marlene would hate him if she saw him.

He started living life again. He laughed, suggested names for the baby and took care of Lily. Then, on the night of July 31st 1980, Harry James Potter was born. Lily and James named him godfather.

'He's wonderful,' Sirius had whispered when he had held Harry, 'how did you prats ever make this?'

He made them laugh and laughed himself. He was happy, after a long time.

But life didn't want that for him. On the 31st of October 1981, Lily and James died.

Pettigrew betrayed them.

Sirius tracked him and tried killed him. Later at the hearing, he had laughed like a maniac.

And now, on the 22nd of September 1992, he sat in his cell as Amelia Bones stood in front of him.

'What's the date today?' He asked Bones. She raised her eyebows.

'22nd of September 1992,' she answered.

Thirteen years had passed since her death. Thirteen years.

But when he died on the 18th of June 1996, he was reunited with his love, his brother and his sister.

That was the life of Sirius Black, he experienced all shades of love.

He killed Avery for love in 1979.
He fought for his love in 1979.
He saved for his love in 1979.
He died for his love in 1996.

The Shades of love are countless....
