WITH MIGUEL CONVINCING LEXI to join Eagle Fang, the two teenagers have been spending more time together, their friendship being closer than ever. Johnny has still yet to tell Lexi about what Annabeth told him of who her grandfather is, but he couldn't find the right time to tell her.
He was petrified for what Lexi's reaction would be and the right time never seemed to come, so Johnny decided to hold back on telling her for now.
With the many times Lexi ran into Eli during school, she instantly ran the opposite way, not wanting to talk to him at all. Her mind was screaming to hug him and say she's sorry, but at the same time, she knew he had his mistakes as well.
Eli was miserable. He was upset about losing his hair, yes, but nothing compared to the pain of losing the one person he thought he would spend the rest of his life with.
Eli never told anyone this, but ever since he and Lexi became a couple, he has been daydreaming about what their future would look like more than he probably should.
The house they would live in, what their kids' names would be, the wedding dress Lexi would be in, and many other things he thought would eventually happen in the future. But now, Eli's dreams were crushed, the love of his life has slipped away from his arms.
"You can't give up that easily, Eli. I'm sure Lexi feels the same way and wants to get back together with you too," Demetri said, attempting to persuade Eli not to give up on Lexi.
"I told you, she hates me. There's no way she would want to get back together with me even if I begged on my knees." Eli was sitting sluggishly on his couch, him playing his video game even though he was barely focused on it. Demetri groaned in annoyance and stood up on his feet so he was now facing Eli.
"I figured you'd say that, so that's why I invited Lexi over." Eli's eyes shot up to his best friend, an incredulous look on his face with panic written on it as well. He stood up so quickly, he almost dropped his laptop and touched his hair slightly, feeling insecure about it. He was also scared that Lexi wouldn't like it either, even though they weren't together anymore.
"What!? Are you insane! Demetri, I can't let her see me like this, I look like shit. You can't be serious," Eli yelled, his voice cracking at the end of his sentence.
"I'm kidding! Actually, I'm notโI did try to invite Lexi over, but she said no. That's not the point though, the point is that you cannot give up on her this easily when you're clearly still in love with her," Demetri rambled, trying to convince Eli.
"The last time I saw you this in love with someone was when we first watched Harry Potter together and Hermione popped up on the screen. But in this case, Lexi is way better than Hermioneโand is actually real, but you need to get her back."
Eli was intrigued by Demetri's speech and almost considered his words as his hands were seconds away from grabbing his phone and texting Lexi. But his last-second insecurities overwhelmed his mind, making him back out.
"I'm telling you, Demetri. She doesn't want to see me." Eli was about to open up his laptop again until Demetri snatched his laptop out of his hands, shut it a little too harshly than intended, and put it all the way on the other side of the room.
"Eli, you are getting on my nerves. I wasn't going to say this before, but now I'm going to. You were a total dick to Lexi, I'll admit that, and you did say some pretty harsh words." Eli held his head down in shame, tears starting to form in his eyes.
"Butโwhat I also know for sure is that I know you didn't mean those words. I know you love her and she loves you, there's no way those feelings went away that easily. You practically gave me a binary sister-in-lawโwait does that make sense? Anyway, what I'm saying is that try to talk to her, you never know what can happen."
Eli certainly did feel motivated by Demetri's speech and his mind was flooding back with all the wonderful memories of his girlfriendโwell now ex-girlfriend. Her smile would always light up his day, her touch that would make his cheeks as red as cherries, and most importantly, the smile that would make him fall in love with Lexi all over again.
Reminiscing on all of the wonderful memories with Lexi, Eli finally found the surge of confidence to shoot Lexi a text, hoping she didn't even block him too.

"Seeing Dad attempt to convince some girls to join Eagle Fang, was honestly funnier than the time he found out what Facebook was," Lexi said, Miguel, agreeing with him as Johnny rolled his eyes at the two teenagers. The trio arrived back at the apartment complex after trying to find more female recruits for Eagle Fang.
"What did I even say wrong? All I said was that fluids are important and they are so why the hell were you guys laughing?" Miguel and Lexi looked at each other before bursting into a fit of laughter, making Johnny roll his eyes in annoyance and lightly pushing them out of the way and into his apartment.
Lexi greeted Miguel goodbye with a hug and they both went into their respective apartments. Lexi closed the front door and was about to go into her room until she saw that Annabeth was still in her home.
"Dad, what the hell is she still doing here? I thought you already threw out the trash?" Lexi said, in a monotone, but Johnny was unable to hold back a stifled laugh.
"She stayed here overnight. I actually said she could sleep in your room because we didn't have an extra room available right now," Johnny said nonchalantly. Lexi's mouth gaped open, not believing Johnny would let her into her room, let alone sleep in it.
"Great, now I have to disinfect my bed," Lexi whispered under her breath. She went into her room put down her backpack and sighed out in pain. Before Lexi came home, her mind was filled with distractions, thanks to Miguel and Johnny, but now that her mind has finally settled back into reality, tears started to form in her eyes.
Her frustrations were clouding her mind and they were excruciatingly painful which is why Lexi was going to regret what she was going to do next. She grabbed out the silver-plated flask that was in her backpack and chugged it down, ignoring the burning sensation in her throat as she was trying her best to drown out her sorrows.
But with Lexi's luck, Johnny walked into her room at the same time she was drinking.
"Hey, sweetheart, I need to talk to you aboutโ"
Johnny wouldn't even finish his sentence when he saw his daughter doing the one thing he feared the most. Lexi whipped her head around, standing frozen as her heart dropped from being caught in the act.
"Lexi, what the fuck do you think you're doing?" Johnny angrily grabbed the flask out of Lexi's hand and took a whiff of it, his eyes closing shut tightly from the smell. "Where the hell did you get this vodka from?"
"I have my sources."
"Lexi, what the hell. Remember when I first found out you were m daughter, I said I'll stop drinking for you and I did. At least from being addicted to it, and now look what you're doing. You're literally repeating my mistakes and I can't stand to think about the thought of you ending up like how I did."
Lexi's eyes softened at the words her father said to her, the anger and sadness now turning into guilt, feeling terrible for worrying Johnny like this.
"Honey, why? Why are you drinking now? What happened?"
"Eli and I aren't together anymore," Lexi whispered, barely audible, but Johnny was able to understand. At first, Johnny was questioning who Eli was, but then it clicked on him.
"We got into this huge argument and he said some hurtful things then I said some hurtful things. It just went all to shit and I feel so broken, Dad."
Johnny's blue eyes softened at the crumbling sight of his daughter. He sat next to her on the bed and pushed strands of hair behind Lexi's ear so he can see her face that she has been trying to hide.
"When did this happen?"
"The day Annabeth walked back into my life," Lexi mumbled with annoyance. Johnny suddenly felt guilty for putting all of this weight on Lexi's shoulders within a day. First Eli and now the reunion with her mother.
Johnny sighed and put his arms around his daughter, catching Lexi off guard slightly, but then hugged back as she felt out the painful emotions she was withholding in her body.
Sobs were filling the room and Johnny's chest was getting wet from Lexi's tears, but he didn't care. All he wanted was for Lexi to let out the pain that was in her feeble body. He continued to hold her in his arms until she finally pulled away, revealing her bloodshot eyes and tear stains.
"Do you want me to beat his ass? I would gladly do it and send his stupidity so far up his ass he won'tโ"
"Dad!" Lexi let out a soft chuckle. "No, you don't have to do anything. I'll be okay eventually. But what did you want to talk to me about?" Johnny's lips went into a thin line, not sure if she should tell Lexi that Kreese was her grandfather, considering all of the stressful events that have been in her life lately.
"Umโit's nothing, sweetheart. Come on, get some sleep, you need energy for training." Lexi smiled lightly before nodding her head and putting her hair in a bun. Johnny glanced at the flask that was on the desk and grabbed it swiftly while waving it in the air in a scolding manner.
"I better not see this in your room anymore or else I will kick your ass," Johnny stated in a playful, yet serious tone. Lexi nodded with a smile curving on the edge of her lips as Johnny placed a kiss on her forehead then shut the door to her room.
Once she took off her makeup and got herself situated for a decent night's rest, Lexi's phone buzzed, indicating she got a voicemail and her heart dropped at who it was, her anxiety spiking drastically.
Her palms were getting sweaty and all of the memories were starting to flood back into her mind like a rollercoaster that wanted to make you throw up.

Hey, princโI-I mean Lexi. Um, I don't know if you're going to get this, I'm hoping you didn't block me, but I wanted to talk about us. If you're listening to this, then meet us at our spot at three o'clock. Um, I'll be waiting. Bye.
Lexi put down her phone on her bed, her mind making her confused as ever. She missed Eli, not even having the courage to change his contact name. But her stubbornness was getting in the way of her true emotions. Lexi put down her phone on her table and ignored the message, for now, wanting to sleep on it to see if she wanted to see Eli or not.
She wrapped herself in her pastel purple duvet and slipped her body on her side. Lexi couldn't even try to sleep as her mind was filled with nothing else, but Eli. His sparkling pale aqua eyes were embedded in Lexi's mind and that was the last thing on her mind before she let out a shaky breath closed her swollen eyes and slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
Will Lexi meet up with Eli, or will she simply ignore the text as if she never received it in the first place?
