After slaving over the remaining homework left during the remainder of the break, classes had resumed once again.

Rita Skeeter, a foul woman who reported for The Daily Prophet had somehow learned Hagrid was part giant, making him wallow in sadness within his hut. His lessons were being overseen by Professor Grubbly-Plank in his absence.

The first week back after the break dragged on painfully but it soon concluded, bringing with the weekend another Hogsmeade trip. Rubi had gotten ready and was heading down into the common room to meet Fred, as the two were going on a date together to the magical village.

Rubi paused at the foot of the staircase, her eyes landing on the figure of her boyfriend. Fred had his hands in the pockets of his blue pants, a maroon sweater hugging his frame as the ginger glanced down at his shoes.

Rubi smiled and she adjusted the collar of her black sweater, smoothing down her blue jeans. She had a purse slung on one shoulder and her leather boots clacked as she walked.

The sound of Rubi's footwear caught Fred's attention and he looked up, a smile falling onto his lips when he spotted the girl.

"Good morning, Freddie."

"Good morning, love."

"Should we get going? I want to have breakfast at Madam Rosmerta's."

"Sure thing love." And Fred reached for Rubi's hand, intertwining their fingers. Rubi felt herself smile at their joined hands before she looked up at Fred, who was watching the expression on her face lovingly.

Suddenly, a thought hit Rubi, "What if someone spreads a rumour that we're together after seeing this?"

Fred smirked, "Let them. What's the worst that can happen?"

Rubi shook her head smiling and tugged Fred's hand, indicating that they should go.

As the two made it to Hogsmeade, they went to the Three Broomsticks. The pub was as crowded as ever, but they managed to find a table and ordered their breakfast, digging into it when the food arrived, while conversing back and forth.

"I want to start my next book when I get back." Rubi stated, a fond expression on her face.

Fred raised an eyebrow, "What is the next one about?"

Rubi sighed dreamily, "It's based on the muggle fairytale about a girl who is stuck as a servant for her stepfamily. However, the woman named Cinderella, does get a beautiful surprise for always being so kind."

Fred smiled lovingly, watching Rubi ramble about another story that excited her and the Weasley was melting. The way Rubi's eyes were lit up, the way her nose scrunched up, the gentle smile on her soft lips. He was smitten with her.

"How about you read it to me?" Fred suggested watching as Rubi paused, a look of excitement on her face.

"Can I?" She asked gently in disbelief.

"Of course, love. I could listen to your voice all day."

Rubi's cheeks heated up but a huge smile graced her lips at her boyfriend's answer.

Oh he is perfect.

Rubi thought, her eyes fondly upon Fred.

Soon after, the two went to Honeyduke's, where Rubi went on a shopping spree, buying anything containing milk chocolate. After, they were at Zonko's, the couple searching for equipment to use for future pranks. Afterwards, they headed to another shop, where Rubi excitedly browsed through the books, not being able to decide which one to purchase.

Near the evening, Fred and Rubi went to the Three Broomsticks to eat once again, before departing back for Hogwarts.

Fred, being the gentleman he is, was carrying Rubi's purchases with one arm, while Rubi had her arms wrapped around his other, leaning herself against his arm.

"Thank you for today, Fred." She said, looking up at him.

Fred, smiling, gazed down at the girl, "I should be thanking you, love."

Rubi felt her smile widen, "Can we read when we get back to the tower after dinner, just before bed? If you want to?" She shyly asked, her eyes falling onto the snow filled ground.

"Anything you want." Fred replied, making Rubi look back up at him with a huge smile before her gaze returned to the path, the two continuing their journey back to the castle.

"And they lived happily ever after, the end."

Rubi sighed contentedly, closing the book gently.

"I love happy endings." She stated. "How about you, Freddie?" Rubi asked, looking down at Fred who had his head placed on her lap. Fred was gazing at her dreamily and Rubi smiled teasingly.

"And I feel as if you were just staring at me the whole time."

Fred grinned, raising a hand to Rubi's face. The girl leaned into the touch, her one hand placing itself overtop the ginger's.

"I was just admiring you." Fred finally breathed out. "I still can't believe how lucky I am that someone as amazing as you chose me."

Rubi leaned down and pressed a kiss onto Fred's forehead, "And I can't believe my luck that you chose me out of everyone." She said, echoing Fred's words back to him.

"Oi! Lovebirds! Break it up!"

George dropped into the space beside Rubi as Lee paused in front of them.

"Shhhhh!" Rubi exclaimed, smacking George on the head.

"OW! Hey!"

"Keep it down you idiot! Everyone is going to find out we're in a relationship if you keep up with your racket!" Rubi berated her best friend.

George grinned teasingly, "I wouldn't be surprised if they already thought that, considering how affectionate the two of you have always been."

"Oh shut it." Rubi mumbled out, trying to suppress a smile.

"Ah, ah, I see that smile, Black." George said, looking at Rubi with a shit-eating grin.

"Stop it! You're so annoying!" Rubi huffed out. Fred immediately sat up and pulled Rubi into his side, his arms tightening around her waist.

"The way you're going about it dear brother, you better remember Rubina Black is mine."

George raised an eyebrow, exchanging an amused look with Lee.

"What's that I smell?" George asked, sniffing around. "Something's definitely burning."

"Oh, someone's jealous!" Lee exclaimed in amusement, making George let out a chuckle, while a wide grin cast onto Rubi's lips. Fred sighed and buried his face in the girl's hair.

"Is it true, Weasley?" Rubi asked, turning around as Fred lifted his head back up. "You're so smitten with me that you're jealous of even your own brother teasing me about." Rubi said, biting down into her lip as she batted her eyelashes up at him.

Fred groaned, knowing what she was doing to him. Instead he picked her up and placed her in her lap.

"Fred!" Rubi chastised. Fred merely pulled her closer, his hands roaming over her body.

"You are mine and mine only." He growled out. Rubi's face cracked into a smile and discreetly, she pecked his lips.

"I'm all yours, Weasley, just yours, sweetheart." Rubi whispered and Fred smiled at her, leaning forth.

"Oi!" A pillow cushion smacked the pair, disrupting their moment.

"Get a bedroom!" George and Lee directed at them, both holding onto each other as they laughed. Then when their laughter faded, they grabbed one another.

"Fred!" George said in a high pitched voice. "Oh Fred!"

"You're mine and mine only." Lee mimicked, before the two started making kissing noises.

Rubi felt her cheeks colour as Fred rolled his eyes but a smile plastered on both their faces. Rubi jumped up and grabbed the cushion that had been thrown at them earlier.

She smacked George and Lee, making them drop their act as they ran for cover, Rubi on their tails with determination etched upon her face. Fred watched from the couch with a smile, while all his friends laughed and ran about. He loved them all so much.

Their friend group was amazing, full of different yet unique and similar personalities, all holding utmost love for one another, which could even mean to go as far as to die for one another. After all, family doesn't always mean blood, these relationships are made out of pure love.
