      THERE WASN'T A SINGLE witch or wizard in the Wizarding World that wasn't familiar with the legacy of the four renowned founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.

        For a thousand years, their memories were kept alive in the very school they founded, and in the students who attended said school.

        It was true; their legacy was common knowledge yet their prophecy was not.

        It was once foretold to the founders that, one day — when the world had changed and evolved into something they could never fathom — from the extended spread of their descendants, eight would emerge as the greatest witches and wizards to ever live.

        These eight would possess power over every aspect of life as we know it and, together, would be the Wizarding World's greatest weapon.

But, for centuries to come, it would seem that merely the knowledge of the prophecy was as powerful as what it foretold. So, it was wiped from history and only preserved in the minds of select individuals.

A thousand years after the prophecy's prediction, its candour is debated as — while it has successfully been kept under wraps for so long — many have elected to believe it is no more than folktale.

But then, one by one, they begin to appear.

Over the course of 1977 to 1980, each descendant is born, unaware of the power they possess and the prophecy they are part of.

For 'their own safety as well as that of the Wizarding World', as the Ministry of Magic had silently agreed, these eight children would be brought up in solitude and taught how to master their power, before being integrated back into society when they were ready.

No one expected it to take as long as it did, but with great power comes great control to master. The view was to be better safe than sorry, the last thing these eight needed was to be endangered if people found out who they truly were and what they were part of; Godric's Guild.

first order of business, thank you for enduring that hell of long summary. i really couldn't figure out how to sum it up in a more concise way because my brain can't handle complicated tasks, again my apologies x

anyway, welcome to GODRIC'S GUILD. as you can tell from my ramble-y nature, this is my first apply fic. oh, no way! we thought you were so professional. no, i'm a trainwreck, but let's see how this goes.

STORY NOTES

• this story will take place in the goblet of fire, and this will be the year that godric's guild will be attending hogwarts. because, i mean, who's going to notice eight weird kids while there's a triwizard tournament going on? everyone, literally everyone.

• each of the eight ocs have different abilities as foretold in the prophecy which are hella cool and will be specified in the applications. please don't disregard them as their power are a huge part of who they are.

• each founder has two descendants. so out of the eight, there are two gryffindors ( with one being taken by me hehe ) two hufflepuffs, two ravenclaws and, you guessed it, two slytherins. their powers also coincide who they have descended from. trippy, eh?

• based on the years of birth (sept. 1977–aug. 1980) the ocs will be between 14-17. two will be in sixth year, two in fifth, three in fourth (year of the golden trio) and one in third year.

• please make the characters as diverse as possible in regard to gender, sexuality, race etc. we don't want to see a book full of solely white chicks. and the more they stand out, the more likely i am to pick them!

• i'm a sucker for romance, so chances are your oc will have a love interest! feel free to specify any one from the golden era in your application.

• please tell me this makes sense, i'm even losing myself in this mayhem
