FORMULA ONE CHRISTMAS PARTY 2019
"See, look at how fun this is!" Max said, In an attempt to cheer Allie up.
Max had brought Allie to the Christmas party, knowing full well she had no plans, unless sitting alone in her apartment eating all the Christmas chocolate she had purchased counted as plans. In Max's eyes, it didn't.
"It's so... fancy"
"I know right?"
"That isn't a good thing." Allie said, her voice harsh. Allie hadn't wanted to come to this party. 2019 hadn't been great for her. So many things had happened, whether it was family related, career related, or even related the F1 season. Being best friends with one of the Championship contenders isn't fun. Especially when you're engrossed in the sport anyway.
Max sighed at his friend's bluntness. He walked in front of her, making her stop dead in her tracks and look up at him. "Take that stick out of your ass and cheer up. You've had a crappy year, so you may as well come with me to this crappy party, make fun of my crappy bow-tie and wash it all down with some not-so-crappy champagne."
Allie took a deap breath. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I just-"
"I know Al. But could you please just not take it out on me. Or any of my friends for that matter." Max asked, his voice slightly softer.
Allie nodded. Max held his hand out for her to take, which she did. The pair approached a large building, lit up with hundreds of lights, people walking in in tuxedo's and dresses, much lik the ones Allie and Max were wearing. Max's tux was simple, and he had a black bow-tie around his neck (which Allie thought made him look like the Queen's butler.)
Allie herself was wearing a long dress which puddle around her feet slightly, covering the old converse she was wearing. The dress had a slightly glittery appearance, but the fabric felt as soft as silk.
At the entrance of the building, Allie spotted Charles and Charlotte. Charles was dressed in a suit very similar to Max's and Charlotte was wearing a long red dress, and her makeup matched perfectly. Charles spotted them and nudged Charlotte, who turned around to smile at them. She removed herself from Charles' side and jogged towards Allie, who greeted her with a hug. "Ah I've missed you!" Charlotte said as the pair broke away from the hug, liking arms with eachother and walking towards the two men, who had walked ahead.
"I've missed you too! We have so much to talk about." Allie said. Max and Charles were leaning against a wall, taking to eachother, (probably about racing) until the girls reached them.
Charlotte went back to Charles side, and Allie greeted the Monaguesque man with a fist bump."Hiya Al."
"Hey Charles." After all four had greeted eachother, they entered the large open ballroom, which had been decorated for the party. Whilst walking through a large crowd, Max had been greeted by a number of different Team Principles and drivers, until they reached the bar. Allie immediately ordered a glass of champagne, which she down in one go. Max stared at her wide eyed before shrugging. "Well, I did bring you here to get drunk."
Allie smiled sarcasticly at him, before ording another glass, one she made last. After about half an hour, Christian Horner had called Max over for a chat, so Allie was left alone at the bar. Suddenly, Charlotte appeared beside her, looking very out of breath. "Hey Al."
"Why do you look like you just ran a marathon?"
"Charles and I wear dancing. God I hate the stupid heels!"
Allie chuckled at Charlotte's aggregated state before pulling her up a bar stool. Charlotte thanked her friend before sitting down, ordering herself a glass of red wine. Whilst she was paying, Allie scanned the hall, examining the decorations and admiring certain people from afar. A beam of light circled around the room, and settled apon a tall blonde in the same second Allie had looked in that direction.
The blonde was wearing a tux like Max's, hands in his pockets, talking to Sebastian Vettel. Even from afar, Allie could tell his eyes were blue, and his jawline... don't get her started.
Charlotte who had began to sip on her wine nudged her friend's leg with her foot. "Who's caught you're eye then miss?"
"Who's that?"
Charlotte examined the hall, squinting until she spotted the blonde. "Oh, That's Mick Schumacher."
Allie almost chocked on her drink. "S-Shumacher? As in like seven time World champion Michael Schumacher? His son?"
The Sine girl nodded. "He races too. He's Prema, F2."
"He any good?"
"I think so. Didn't really have a chance to watch a lot of F2 this season, but I'm pretty sure he finished twelfth overall, had a few good races."
Allie raised her eyebrows and went back to staring at the man. He was still engrossed in conversation with Seb, and there was a slight smile apon his face as he talked. Allie didn't realise how long she had been staring until he looked over towards the bar, catching her.
"Shit. Charlotte talk to me."
"Huh? Wh- oh shit." Charlotte began to giggle as she realised what had happened. "Oh you're totally screwed."
"What why?"
"Cause he's walking over here with a really smug look." Charlotte said, grinning.
Allie pinched her eyes shut for a second, sighing. "Crap."
Charlotte picked up her wine glass from the bar and hopped off the stool. Allie began to panic, was she really going to leave when the attractive driver was walking towards them?
"Charles is calling me, got to go."she said, a teasing smile on her face.
"Charlotte Sine I know damn well Charles isn't calling you." Allie hissed as Charlotte backed away into the crowd. Giving her friend one last teasing look, the Sine girl turned around to go and save her boyfriend from conversation with Frédéric Vassuer.
Allie cursed under her breathes and she swiveled around in her chair facing the bar. Not five seconds, Mick sat down in the stool Charlotte had just vacated, and order himself a drink. He turned slight to face Allie. "Caught you staring."
Allie inwardly cringed. "I wasn't staring, sorry to step on your ego." She played off coolly.
Mick raised his eyebrows, smiling slightly. "I'm sorry to inform you, but uh, Sebastian through you under the bus. Spotted you."
'Great. Thanks Sebastian.' Allie thought. She turned in her chair to face the blonde, who was smiling at her, not smirking in a smug way, he was genuinely smiling at her. He held his hand out for her to take."Mick Schumacher." He introduced himself.
Allie hesitated for a split second before taking his hand. "Allie Lawson." Allie though that Mick would have shook her hand, but instead he lifted it up and places a kiss on the back of her hand.
Allie raised her eyebrows at him and smiled slightly. "Such a gentleman" she teased.
Mick chuckled before speaking again. "You're Max Verstappen's friend correct?"
Allie nodded. "Yeah, he's an asshole but I've learned to live with it." she said with a smile.
Mick smiled to. "You a big fan of F1?"
Allie nodded. "Yeah real big. A lot of people think I just watch it because of Max, but I've been wearing Ferarri shirts since I was born." It was only after she had said it that she relalised what she had said.
"Ferarri? Interesting" Mick said, as he sipped his drink. "Question, were you a fan of my Dad?"
"I was, I'm sorry, for what happened to him." Allie said sympathetically. Mick waved a hand, "It's okay. He's staying strong."
Allie smiled at him. "I'm not saying this because of present company but, your Dad was my F1 hero."
"He's mine too. I'm glad I can hopefully continue his Legacy. I'm pretty sure the commentators get deja-vu when they walk about me. "
"You're F2 right? Prema?"
Mick nodded as he placed his drink down. "Yeah, I'm hoping I can improve from this season though, it wasn't my best finish see, and I don't think I'll ever get anywhere by finishing twelfth."
Allie tilted her head, "You never know. A few good races and you could have people like Binnotto keeping an eye on you."
"Thats true." Mick watched Allie as she sipped her drink. He was quite captivated.
"Caught you staring."
Mick blinked before holding in his smile at Allie's words. Their convosation was halted however, when Callum Illott, Mick's teammate called him name from the other side of the hall. Mick looked from where Callum stood back to Allie. "It was very nice meeting you Miss Lawson. I'll speak to you again I hope?"
Allie nodded. "Yeah, yeah sure."
The pair smiled at eachother before Mick took Allie's hand again, and kissed it once more. "Auf Wiedersehen Allie."
