To say that Evie was minorly sleep deprived would be an understatement.
Ollie and Kimi had ended up staying with her much later than any of them intended, paralysed from exhaustion and too engrossed on their doom scrolling to realize the time. After they'd finally retreated back to their own rooms, Evie managed to get a whole two hours of sleep, before her alarm rang, signifying that she had to get up and start packing, another thing she hadn't done, due to the adrenaline-filled day she'd had.
She had already washed her face twice, in hopes that it'd wake her up enough to function properly. Her comfortable pyjama pants sat on her waist, while an old T-Shirt covered her top half. She was too tired to change into presentable clothes yet.
As she halfheartedly attempted to zip her suitcase up, she realized her clothes didn't fit in there anymore. Badly packed, she thought, but she was not having it.
Evie grabbed her key card from the bedside table where it'd been discarded and quietly left the room, her slippered feet dragging her down the hall to Alex's room, where she was almost positive she could find an extra bag to squeeze her belongings in.
She rapped her knuckles on the door, her hand instantly dropping after she did, too tired to try any further.
It didn't take long for the door to open, only for it to reveal someone who was definitely not Alex.
Franco stood dazed at the door, his eyebrows shooting up at the girl knocking on his door, while Evie's eyes suddenly opened, her mind really waking for the first time that morning. She internally cursed herself for being so stupid to not double check the room number, before speaking.
"Sorry, sorry. Wrong room," she mumbled, looking down as she turned to leave.
Franco shook himself out of his daze, reaching out to grab hold of Evie's forearm, pulling her back to him. "No, it's the right room."
Evie opened her mouth to protest, but caved when she looked at his face again. His eyes and lips were slightly swollen, no doubt a result of an early morning awakening, while his hair was more tousled than normal. Evie's lips curled up in a smile, his own mirroring them, and he guided her into his room, shutting the door behind them.
Evie let a giggle escape from her lips. "I'm supposed to be packing."
"So am I."
Franco led her to the bed, sitting down on it, then pulling her to sit next to him, face to face, their knees bumping while their smiles matched.
"We didn't celebrate yesterday," Franco stated, running a hand through Evie's scarcely brushed hair.
"Mhm, but we did," she replied, leaning into his touch.
"Not properly, we didn't."
Evie could think of a couple ways in which they had in fact celebrated his points the day before, but she wasn't opposing to some more.
"Not satisfied?" she asked, leaning in more with every sentence spoken.
"Not yet." Franco's voice had gone down to a whisper and Evie could hear it clear as day, considering their proximity. His soft breath mixed with her own, and soon so did their lips, pressing together in a gentle kiss, turned passionate.
Evie's hand slithered its way up to the back of Franco's head, holding him in place while simultaneously entangling into his hair, whilst her other rested on his toned back.
Franco's own hands went separate ways, one cupping her cheek, the other wrapping around her waist, pulling her closer until she was sitting on his lap, her legs sprawled to the side.
Evie's face was flushed, the intimate proximity of the situation sending flames up her whole body as she clinged on to the boy in front of her.
Their noses bumped several times, as they moved their faces to switch positions, their lips barely separating for air. Franco's hands alternated between holding her waist and her legs, while her own gently tugged at his hair, or squeezed his shoulders.
Inevitably, in need of air, Evie forced herself to pull away, instantly missing the familiarity of Franco's lips on hers, the warmth his body radiated.
He looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, clearly not pleased with the pause. She cupped his cheek, staring into his soft green eyes.
"Can't miss our flights," she whispered, earning a sigh out of him.
"I know," he replied, tilting his head. "Text me?"
"Of course."
Franco's lips upturned, and he pulled Evie in again by the back of her head, pressing a kiss on her forehead, before letting her go. Her cheeks reddened in return and she begrudgingly disentangled her limbs from his, getting up to return to her room.
He got up too, unwilling to leave her side yet, and followed her to the door, where they shared one last kiss, before she actually had to leave, if she wanted to get back to England.
