CHAPTER TWO:
MONEY HEIST
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The Calavera girl stood next to the strawberry blonde, rain falling from the sky as the two waited for the alpha and human to bring the newly changed boy into the animal clinic they stood in front of. Scott gently placed him over his shoulders and carried him inside while Elena held the door for the four teens shortly following behind them. The McCall boy carefully laid him down on the metal table as the others stood around, waiting for the vet.

Soon enough, a dark-skinned man with little to no hair entered the room to inspect the young boy. Elena leaned over to the alpha, "Who's he?" She questioned, gesturing to the man.

"Elena, this is Deaton," Scott started with before Stiles interrupted him.

"He's basically our Yoda."

Elena looked at Stiles with confusion plastered all over her face, "Yo - who?"

Stiles rubbed his forehead, unamused at what he just heard her say, "Scott, how are you so sure we can trust her? She hasn't even seen Star Wars. And not to mention she threw a knife thing at mine and Lydia's head!" He exclaimed towards the alpha.

Elena rolled her eyes, "First of all, it's just a movie, and Second, it was a dagger."

"Just a mov-,"

"Wow," Deaton announced, interrupting the human and causing all eyes to fall on him.

"Wow?" Stiles asked, completely forgetting about the argument he was just in, "Wow as in, 'I've seen this before and I know exactly what to do,' kind of wow? Because that's the kind of wow we were hoping for," He finished with.

"I think you might be overestimating my abilities," Deaton told him as Lydia grabbed his hand.

"He's cold. Really cold," She said, making Deaton pick up his other hand to see for himself.

Elena looked towards the alpha since she heard him sigh before speaking, "Do you think this is permanent?"

Deaton opened Derek's eyelids and flashed a light into his pupils, "I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even adequate. This is well beyond my experience," He stated.

"So what do we do with him?" Stiles asked.

"Until he wakes up. Probably not much. It might be best to leave him with me. He'll be safe here." Deaton told the four teenagers.

"You mean from Kate?" Stiles questioned, trying to grasp what the vet was implying.

Deaton turned to face him, "If she's alive and she is what you say she is, she won't be able to walk past that gate."

"Why would she want to do this to him?" Lydia asked this time, shaking her head.

Elena sighed, "Knowing Kate, it's probably for a reason that won't be any good for anyone but her."

"And bad for everyone else," Stiles added.

Deaton looked over at the exhausted teens, "You guys should probably go home," He started, causing everyone to pick up their heads and look at the vet. "He doesn't look to be in any danger. So maybe the rest of you should get some sleep? It is a school night. And you all need to start taking care of your own lives again," He finished.

"Someone should stay with you," The alpha replied.

Deaton looked at the McCall boy before Lydia spoke up, "I'll stay. My grades are fine, despite missing a few classes."

Scott looked at Elena, nudging her to volunteer, "I'll stay too. It's not like I have anything else to do in this town anyways." She added, causing a small smile to form on Scott's face.

"I'm so not okay with this," Stiles said shaking his head.

"Guys, go," Lydia urged the two boys.

"No," Stiles argued back with.

Scott nodded at Lydia's plea, "Text us if anything happens."

"Nope, still not okay with it. Not going anywhere," Stiles stated proudly before getting dragged out of the room by the McCall boy, "All right, just 'cause you're stronger." He said as he finally gave in.

The room fell silent as Deaton left the room to grab more supplies, "Thanks for staying," Lydia said, breaking the silence between the two girls.

Elena smiled, "Us girls have got to stick together," She told her before adding, "Plus I wouldn't mind shoving my fist into Kate's face."

Lydia laughed softly, "I wouldn't mind seeing that." The two girls talked back and forth until they finally fell asleep in Deaton's office.

Elena woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing in her back pocket. She unwillingly picked up, not caring who was on the other line, "Who is this, and why are you calling me?"

"Well that's one way to answer the phone dear sister," Her brother spoke, causing Elena to immediately wake up.

"Marcos? What's wrong? Is everything okay? Are you okay?" Elena asked, worried her brother was in some sort of danger.

"Woah! Calm down, Elena. Everything is fine," Marcos told her with an obvious smile on his face.

"Wipe that smile off your face," Elena told him as she combed her other hand through her hair, trying to get the knots out.

"Why don't you stop combing your hair and come wipe it off for me," Elena stopped what she was doing and ran to the front of the animal clinic to see her brother standing there with a devilish grin on his face. She squealed before excitedly running over to her brother, a wide grin stretched onto her face, she tightly hugged him.

The two pulled away when the newly changed Derek ran past them, "Lydia," Elena mumbled under her breath before running into the room Derek was previously in. "Are you both alright?" She asked as she helped Deaton lean onto the metal table, inspecting his wound.

Deaton nodded while Elena started to clean up his wound, "He just awoke, not recognizing anyone or anything," Lydia told her as Marcos helped her to her feet.

Elena looked towards the banshee, "We need to call Scott."

Soon after getting ahold of Scott, he and Stiles pulled up to the animal clinic, "I don't think he's just younger in body. I think he's younger in his mind too," Deaton tells them as Lydia wraps the wound Elena had cleaned up.

"He didn't recognize either of us," Lydia started before sighing, "And he looked like he was scared out of his mind."

"I'm sorry, but where were you again?" Stiles asked the huntress who was standing with her arms crossed, "You know for the big bad werewolf hunter you say you are, you sure don't seem too good at your job."

"Oh I'll show you how good I am," Elena threatened, stepping towards the pale boy with daggers already in both of her hands.

Scott grabbed her arm pulling her back, "Okay, can you two please stop trying to kill each other for five minutes?"

Stiles rolled his eyes as Elena stepped back to where she originally stood, "So if you're a teenage werewolf and you're scared, where do you go?" Stiles asked, trying to get back on topic.

"A wolf goes back to its den," Marcos said, jumping into the conversation.

"But Derek lives in a loft," Scott stated.

Stiles looked at his best friend, "Not when he was a teenager."

Scott looked around, thinking of where the young boy could've gone, "The Hale House," Lydia announced, making all eyes fall on her.

"He wouldn't remember the fire. It wouldn't have happened yet," Deaton told them as he held his injured arm.

Scott and Stiles almost left the room before Lydia spoke up, "Hold on. Say you do manage to catch up to him? What are you going to say to him? That his whole family is dead?"

Scott turned around looking at the banshee, "I guess I'm going to have to."

"Oh... Good luck with that," Lydia added with sarcasm laced in her voice as she nodded her head.

Stiles leaned into the alpha, "She's probably right. Maybe you shouldn't. You know, at least until we figure out how to get him back to normal."

"I can't lie to him," Scott stated.

Stiles sighed, "Okay, I'll do it."

"I don't think any of us can," Scott started before Elena interrupted.

"He can hear any heartbeat rising,"

"When we find him, we tell him the truth," Scott told the group who nodded at his statement.

"If he gets to the house first, you won't have to," Deaton commented causing everyone to look at each other.

After hours of helping clean things up at the animal clinic, Marcos and Elena decided to go check up on their new apartment their father had just bought them, "So do you think they do room service here?" Marcos asked as the two stepped out of their car, walking into the building and onto the elevator.

Elena let out a small laugh, "This is an apartment Marcos, not a hotel."

The elevator stopped at level eight causing the two to step out and walk to the door to their room, "So? If we're paying them we should get something in return, and I vote room service."

The huntress playfully rolled her eyes while unlocking the front door, but before her brother followed her inside, his phone buzzed, "Who is it?"She asks, watching him pick up his phone.

"Uh, it's Stiles. He wants me to meet him at Scott's house," Marcos said to her, reading the text aloud.

"Go. We will meet up later," She told him.

"Okay. Your room is the one with the view since I know how much you like it, and it already has all your belongings." She nodded and that was all her brother needed, leaving her standing in the door frame.

Elena sighs, closing the apartment door and walking straight into her room. She pulled back the curtains, looking at the sunset. Finally, she moved away from the window and walked back to her bathroom, turning on the shower faucet. She took off her dirty clothes and stepped into the warm water.

After cleaning herself off, she turns the faucet off and steps out of the shower, grabbing her towel as she uses it to dry herself off while grabbing another to put her hair up. Elena's head shot up as she heard profusely knocking on her apartment's front door.

"Who the hell is that?" Elena mumbled, making her way towards the stranger at her door in only a towel. She opened the door to reveal one of her new friends, Malia.

The were coyote gulped as she saw the huntress before her, standing as water droplets fall onto her beautiful tan skin, "I-I was wondering if you were busy."

"No, why? What's going on?" She asked, lifting one of her hands to hold her hair towel.

Malia took a deep breath before responding, "Scott is going to talk to Peter, and he wants us to meet him at Derek's loft."

Elena nodded, "Okay, sure just let me get dress," Before walking away Elena turned back towards her new friend, "Do you wanna come in?"

Malia agreed and stepped into the hunter's apartment as the hunter ran back to her room to get dress. Elena was dressed within minutes. She grabbed her phone and headed back to the were coyote who was stood by her front door, "Are you thirsty or anything?" Elena asked, slipping her jacket on.

"No, we should probably just go. We don't want to get there after Scott," She responded. The huntress nods, grabbing her apartment keys and following her out of the apartment.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The two girls stood in front of Derek's apartment as Scott pulled up on his motorcycle, "What are you guys doing here?" He asked causing Elena to look at the were coyote, confused at why he asked that.

"Malia said you w-." But before she could finish, the blonde interrupted her.

"We heard you were coming to talk to Peter. And since Lydia tells everyone he's basically Satan in a V-neck, we figured you shouldn't be alone."

Scott looked between the two, "I can handle Peter."

"You can handle him better with us," Malia said, making a smirk appear on Elena's face.

The trio walked up to Derek's apartment in silence, but as soon as they got inside Malia questioned the alpha, "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing," The McCall boy lied.

The were coyote rolled her eyes at the obvious lie, "Your heart's pounding like crazy. Are you nervous?" Malia asked.

A male voice spoke up from their left, "He's just bad at introductions," Elena turned to where the voice came from, seeing the other Hale werewolf her family had tortured.

"Peter," Scott started, looking at Peter but then turning his gaze back to Malia, "This is Malia and Elena."

Peter immediately placed his book on the couch and sauntered over to the blonde were coyote, not caring about the hunter who stood before him, "Beautiful eyes. Did you get them from your father?"

"Mother," Malia replied bluntly.

Elena looked at Scott who had fear written all over his face, "Interesting. Anyway, I'm sure they've told you a lot about me," Peter said.

Malia nodded her head, "The homicidal killing spree came up."

"Well, we're all works in progress," Peter replied with a slight smirk on his face.

"Well, when you progress to your next killing spree, why don't you try and make sure they all stay dead?" Malia sassed back, a smile appeared on the hunter's face at the were coyote's statement.

Peter's face fell from pride to confusion, "What is that supposed to mean?"

"What do you know about people being turned by a scratch?" Scott asked, towards the Hale.

Peter turned his head from Malia to Scott, "Did you scratch someone, Scott?" Scott shook his head slightly, "Don't worry about it, the claws have to go pretty deep."

"But it's possible," The alpha started as Peter made his way over to a table in the room, "Like if you clawed out someone's throat?"

"Well, yeah, it's possible. It's also beyond rare. We're talking one in a" Peter stopped for a while when he finally realized what the McCall boy was saying, "Million." Peter turned around from the group, "Can't someone in this town stay dead?"

"I think they were hoping you would," Malia stated, causing a laugh to escape from Elena's lips.

Scott looked at the hunter before asking Peter, "Do you have any idea why Kate would turn Derek into a teenager again?"

Peter turned slightly, "What color were his eyes?"

"Blue," Scott answered, remembering the werewolf's eye color.

Peter sighed, "After Paige. Which could mean around the time he first met Kate," He stated, slowly putting the pieces together.

"Derek and Kate knew each other?" Scott asked, surprised at what Peter just said.

"Biblically," Peter bluntly stated as he slowly turned around to look at the trio, "That's right, Scott. You weren't the first wolf to climb into a hunter's bed."

"And he probably won't be the last," Elena mumbled under her breath.

Peter paced back and forth, trying to figure out what Kate's plan is, "Okay, Derek went to the site of the house thinking it was still there, right?"

"Yeah. But he doesn't remember the fire," Scott replied, leaning onto the table.

"But if he doesn't remember the fire, then he doesn't remember that it was Kate that set it," Peter said, still pacing back and forth.

"So what does that mean?" The were coyote questioned, also leaning on the table.

"Kate didn't just take him back to being a teenager," Peter paused, turning to the group, "She took him back to the age where he still knew her. When he still trusted her."

As soon as Peter finished, Scott's phone rang, telling him someone was trying to get a hold of him. It was Stiles calling to tell Scott that Derek found out they were lying to him. After they finally finished their conversation, Scott told the others about how Kate just got ahold of Derek.

Malia, Peter, and Elena all ran to the door but before they could get any further, the alpha called out to them, "Wait."

Peter turned back to the McCall boy, "For what? Kate's out there twisting her way into Derek's head yet again. We need to find her."

"All we need's a scent," Malia added.

Scott slowly walked up to the group, "That could take hours. If we want to get ahead of her, we need to figure out where she's going."

"Not to underestimate my own cognitive faculties, but we're not exactly a brain trust of geniuses here," Peter said looking at the alpha.

Scott raised his phone in his hand, "Then maybe we should call one."

Scott quickly called Lydia, who was with Kira at a gas station where Kate had just mauled someone, "We called Stilinski. They're on their way," Lydia said with a lace of disgust in her voice.

"What does it look like? Can you send pictures?" Scott asked, causing Elena to look at him with a 'seriously' look on her face.

"Uh, okay. To be honest, I have a 4.0 in AP Biology and there are parts of the human anatomy I have never seen before on these walls," Lydia quivered through the phone with Kira right by her side.

Scott held his phone in the middle of the group as a picture of some guy who was mauled to death popped up on his phone, causing Elena to quickly look away, "That's disgusting." She muttered, holding onto her stomach.

"Why would she want to kill a gas station attendant?" Malia questioned, still looking at the phone.

"I don't think she could help it. This was done in a frenzy. It's not a murder. It's a symptom," Peter told them.

"Of what?" Scott asked.

"She can't control the shift," Peter announced.

"Derek said he had the same issue on the full moon. That he was still learning," Scott added, causing everyone to slowly pick up the pieces.

"Kate's still learning?" The were coyote questioned.

"She wants to learn," Peter corrected.

"So does she wants Derek to teach her?" Elena asked, not feeling the need to vomit over everything anymore.

"No," Peter said shaking his head, "She wants the Triskelion."

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The group pulled up at the school, following Peter to where the Triskelion was, "Did you catch a scent?" Scott asked the were coyote who had paused on the steps.

"It's the same one," Malia answered, looking around at her surroundings, "The same one as Mexico."

"What is she talking about?" Peter questioned the alpha.

"One of them came after us in the Church ruins," Scott replied.

"And one on the road," Elena added, remembering the time Malia had saved her.

"They couldn't have followed us here," Malia stated, walking back up to where the others were.

"But they could've been brought, by Kate," Scott told her, just as if on cue, a deep growling sound filled up the pack's ears.

"Oh, I've heard that sound before," Peter said, rolling his eyes and causing the teenagers to look at him, "Did it have an animal skull? A human wearing a skull over its face?"

"I think so," Malia nodded, looking at Elena who also gave Peter a nod.

"What are they?" The alpha questioned, the growling noise getting louder.

Peter turned his head, looking into the distance as Elena and the others did the same, "Berserkers."

Malia started to charge forward until Elena grabbed her arm, pulling her back, "Are you crazy?"

"There's just one of them," The were coyote said, taking her arm back from the hunter.

"And that means we have a chance," Peter added, this time him grabbing her arm.

"To beat him?" Malia urged, with her fighting face on.

"To survive," Peter managed to say as he took off running.

Elena started to take off too, until she saw Scott and Malia standing there, looking at each other, "Come on you idiots!"

The three finally started running with the Berserker not far behind. Malia stopped Elena and Scott when another one appeared directly in their way. Malia pushed Elena behind her as the two Berserkers crowded them, pushing the trio up the stairs, "Scott. It's both of them. They're both here." Malia stated.

"Where the hell's Peter?" The alpha exclaimed, quickly walking up the stairs, trying to get away.

"I don't know. He just took off," Elena told him. The group started running up the stairs. The hunter made it at the top of the stairs until another Berserker pushed her against the lockers, hitting her head first, "Bitch." She muttered as she rubbed her head.

Scott and Malia tried fighting the two but ended up in the exact spot where Elena was. However, out of nowhere Kira comes running with her katana, swinging at the two Berserkers who were struggling to fight back.

The kitsune looked back to her friends, a proud smile on her face, "Kira!" Scott shouted, telling her to watch out. The Berserker hit the katana out of her hand then slapped her across the face, sending her over to Scott and the others.

After looking at each other, thinking these were their last few moments on Earth, Derek comes swinging at the Berserkers and dodging all of their swings. Elena looked at the werewolf, his face changing from past to now, "What the hell?" She mumbled under her breath.

As Derek fought the Berserkers, a howl echoed throughout the school, causing the two beasts to run away, leaving Derek sitting there in front of them with his head down. After a few minutes, he slowly stood up, back facing the group of teenagers who stood up with him, "Derek?" Scott asked.

The werewolf slowly turned around to face the McCall boy. He was back to normal, Elena thought. Until he flashed his werewolf eye color which was now a golden color instead of the icy blue he had.
